You have all the feddbacks of real people like you who consumed the services and products of Belfiore's valu-mart (Fruit Store) near to the territory of Kitchener (Canada).
Currently the business gets a rating of 3.9 stars over 5 and this rating was based on 127 reviews.
As you can see it reaches an opinions average is very high, and it's based on a large number of scores, so we can say that the score is quite credible. If many people have bothered to rate when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to set reviews when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Fruit Store corresponds to the category of Grocery store.
Smaller store، so don't expect to find everything that available in larger grocery store. It's clean and staff are friendly.
A great place to shop and great deals
Great customer service! Friendly staff and very helpful. I don't normally shop this location, but I will be back.
This is by far the worst bowling alley I’ve ever been to. Worst and most rudest bartenders and bowling alley policies that are border line hilarious. Would highly advise choosing another alley
Great prices and lots of selection.
Great service nicely stocked store
????????
Very clean, arrows on the floor + they had in stock everything from their flyer, thestore wasn't over crowded
Up side, small and convenient. Down side, expensive
Clean and employees are helpful
Very small grocery store. Good if you need something small and quick, but not great for a whole grocery store trip. They mostly have the necessities. Excellent staff though - very friendly!
More expensive than other Loblaws stores, but good enough if you just need to run in to grab milk or something. Staff here are nice, which is always a plus.
Great selection. Higher than usual prices but that's to be expected considering its location.
The staff is always friendly and there to help
Best neighbourhood grocery store
Convenient friendly with professionalism staff
A little pricier than other groceries stores, with far less inventory than others as well. Its hit or miss with customer service all depends who you get
Staff here are super friendly and helpful!
Has grocery essentials that you need but I would not recommend this store for a full grocery shop. I find that they don't have a huge selection, which is likely due to the size of the store, and the prices are usually higher than most other retailers. Produce, deli, meat are usually fresh and good. Usually have good stock of flyer deals, and have a fare selection in most categories. I find the hardest things to find here are usually things that are in the ethnic aisles of other stores. The one thing that I usually have an issue with yours the service, as I find that the cashiers are not always paying attention. Sometimes you're sitting at the cash register for several minutes while they're chatting with workers, or they're not paying attention to what they're scanning and accidentally scan things twice, Miss discounted stickers or don't pay attention to what you say as to how you want to pay, or whether you want bags. On one specific occasion I was charged twice for something, and a 30% off coupon wasn't applied to another product. Unfortunately I didn't notice until after my payment had completed. I asked if I could have it fixed, and a huge production was made and I felt very embarrassed ... embarrassed for a mistake that wasn't mine. I will definitely choose to continue to shop your as it isn't my neighborhood, but again it's usually a place I go to because I need a few things, not because I need to do a whole list of shopping.
I'm always astounded at the price of produce at the valu mart. I expect it to be less pricey than zehrs, but actually find it to be higher.
Convienient and lots of products. Always a good sale at the meat counter. Produce selection is well rounded and tries to have local selections in season
Very nice
You are allowing too many people in your store at one time— hardly room to safely distance ourselves! Especially near the checkouts! Take a lead from the Dollarama store down the hall: they monitor the amount of people entering at a time and have overhead announcements to remind everyone (staff included!) to distance.
Nice store, has what you need but not too big
Shop here all the time. Smaller store but has it all
Small but well stocked. Friendly staff.
Not the value they advertised. Expensive. That's it.
Love the local valu-mart! Friendly staff, fresh high quality produce every time.
Conviently located, easy in and out.
Attended this location on Friday the 13th of March 2020 around 1:30 PM at the express checkout. Wow all I can say is that I will not be returning to this location and as a transplant to the KW area I cannot believe how rude your cashiers are. My mother and I had our purchase tossed down the register and having the cashier loudly tell me my card was declined. We left without purchasing and were met with eye rolls and scoffed toned when we asked what the issue was this particular woman had with us. I sincerely hope that this woman is spoken to for how she communicates and treats customers, as someone who has worked in the customer service world for years this isn't okay. You are in this job for a reason, if you don't like it find something else.
Not the best selection. You would think they would have better prices for the quality.
It's got all the basics in a decent location.
Good staff but poorly stocked small store. Overpriced. Go out of my way to find a zhers for options in product and produce.
clean, friendly service, quality produce a little pricey
Love this place. Nice staff, very convenient size. Good produce.
They don't carry all Loblaws product but store is clean, organized and the staff are always pleasant. Plenty of parking
Went around 1700h for their hot deli over A&W, ☑️Better value ☑️Dipping sauce included ☑️ You have a chance to grab that milk you need! Grocery stores > fast food Tl;Dr -- fast food < grocery stores and real food
Small store, friendly staff, not too busy, great selection of foods.
Good quality food but very pricey.
Overpriced but still cheaper then shoppers drug mart, small sortiment. Only go there because of convenience. Well had to edit to one star because it's not even overpriced the also sell expired product like their coffee.
Never shop here. Don’t let the name fool you. Most if not all items are priced higher than the surrounding zhers stores. I can’t help but wonder if their many retiree customers are aware of this…
Convenient location, not great prices.
A few expensive goods!
Always got what I need in a quick stop. Staff are super here!
Staff here are beyond reproach. Especially Mandy. She's the best
Small store with limited selection. No bulk bin section
Early in the morning on the weekends is the best time to go since there is no crowds and staff is very friendly.
Good value. Clean. Produce not the best. Can almost always find meat with 30% off stickers and not all discoloured, like at some other grocery stores.
Good friendly service +Good products
Only go when we need something in pinch otherwise go to our reg grocery store, bit to expensive for us to stop there all the time.
Items over priced
Full of stock it was a quick in and out they had what I needed. I don't always like the prices but...
Expensive, but it's small enough to get in and out quickly
Friendly staff and good selection of groceries
I adore all the staff here, we have been shopping here for over 10 years and the staff is always so friendly and helpful. Great selections and prices and not too busy. The managers there are amazing. Great customer service. They truly go out of their way to assist their customers.
Dropped in for some whipped cream for a couple pumpkin pies... took waaay longer than it should have for the small lineups, guess i caught them on a rough day
good shopping have some good deals in store
Always a great place for a quick shop and out!
All the stuff at really good prices.
I love this little neighborhood grocery store!! It has everything I need including smiling faces and personable staff!!
Great prices and good selections. Check out was fast and friendly.
Good selection of food and nice staff.
They go out of their way to make customers happy. Store is nicely played out and they have the best hot chicken tenders ever!!
Love the store, clean and friendly. However during this pandemic you should not be charging for bags.
Always friendly staff! Decent selection. Keep your eyes open for fresh fish. Sometimes really nice.
This grocery store is very clean and well kept. The produce is organized a bit odd but that's probably because of the small layout of the store. It's conveniently in a plaza with many other stores. They frequently have sales which is great for the residents in the area. Overall good service and never very busy which is always better.
They usually have some sort of sale going on
This is a great store. It is very convenient. Every time I go I never have a big line to wait in. They have most of my needs stocked. I recently found out that they do rain checks for items that they are sold out of, you don't see that very often anymore. The staff must like working there because they are always smiling and are very friendly. They have two different sized carts, the big one for weekly shops and the little ones for the quick stops. Tons of close parking so you don't have to walk far. This store is open until 10pm every night so it's also great for those after dinner snack runs. Which is better than going to a convenience store because the selection is better.
Mid sized supermarket with the essentials and more. Decent selection and often little line ups, no self serve checkout. Good place to get a hot lunch or just get the basics before going home. Tons of parking. A favorite destination for those aged 65 and older.
Friendly staff are always willing to help with any questions. It's not a huge store but well- stocked to fill all your needs. Prices are comparable to other grocery stores. Specials are good!! Plus line-ups are shorter!
Nice little store in Frederick Mall. Fresh produce, clean store.
Honestly TONY runs a great store. I believe the manager Jason is such an asset. He goes above and beyond for customers. I think it’s important for him to be recognized for all his efforts. I have been shopping there for 11 years and he has been extremely consistent, friendly, and Professional. Thank you, Especially during these difficult times. Really appreciate you and all the staff.
Best lunch/fast food deal in town. Build your own combo for 5 bucks
Have what you want, and always have cashier's to check you out quickly with a smile.
Love Belfiore's valu-mart
Great place to shop. Clean and very helpful staff.
Way overpriced for a "Valu" Mart
Nice medium size store that you doesn't make you walk ten minutes just to buy a bag of milk.. I appreciate that they have all the essentials whether you are cooking, baking or entertaining.
One of our go to places for food, can be a bit pricey but solid selection of foods and hot and ready foods available. Currently not open to the rest of the mall due to Covid.
Smaller community grocery store. Not an overwhelming amount of choice because of its size but tends to carry everything you'd need and has a great hot deli, flowers, and steam cleaner rentals.
Decent selection for such a small store
This location has a large parking lot and access to Frederick street mall. Has a hot deli with grab and go foods. I do find their prices are high for fresh meat and certain grocery items. Poor selection in general due to their size limitation.
Have never had a bad experience here. Staff is very friendly and I'm happy with the store selection.
A good neighbourhood store to stop by if you just need that something. You won't get your "steps in" shopping in this store! You can get your shopping done without all that extra stuff. Great for seniors too! If you're looking for something, they staff at Belfiore's are happy to help you find it!
A small grocery store and is great for a quick stop of essential groceries. I have found that expiry dates on products from this Valumart are relatively short compared to some other stores.
Close to home...great Mall with Lots of chouces to offer...plus a movie theater
Nice helpful staff, usually not super crowded
Very friendly staff as well as the only place in the city that has pre-made date squares.
Free parking, perfect size - enough room to fit all variety of products that one can find in a fancy Zehrs, yet small enough to finish one's shopping in half the time of the above mentioned Zehs. The quality of produce is great.
Small and some items are overpriced. good deli though
Friendly staff but overpriced compared to other grocery stores in the area. Prefer Zehrs for freshness as ValuMart often has old and sometimes spoiled produce. I have noticed that sometimes items on sale for a good price have an expired freshness date.
Smaller store, great for quick stops.
Always great freshness and selection for such a small store.
Produce is generally pretty good but it is often hard to find Ontario products even when in season. Lots of other items that we buy are regularly on sale.
For a smaller store they have a bit of most essential items. Only complaint is lines can be long in the evenings when cashing out.
Good prices and great service
Them chicken tenders do be good though.
This is the worst valuemart i have ever been to. They do not always have (or even carry) basic items like blueberry muffins, coconut milk, Chinese eggplant, bok choy or prepared meals to go like other stores (except for the over priced sandwiches). They are often out of items like soy milk as well. Their gluten free section is small in the bakery section and mixed in with non gluten free items in the shelves. There are often ladders and boxes in the aisles that make it hard to navigate with a shopping cart. Staff don't always move for you to get around. I have given feedback many times about the food and it never changes. I only go there because it is close to me and is convenient, but i go to the larger Zhers at Stanley Park mall whenever possible. They are much better. Staff often seem bored during the day and then there are not enough cashiers in the evening. However, they are usually friendly.
Good stocks and near my home.
WHY ARE YOU SO EXPENSIVE. looking like a no frills but the prices of zehrs and Sobeys. EVERYTHING was 3-4 dollars MORE here for the exact same stuff that the superstore sells. Don't waste your money here.
closest grocery store but expensive
Nice chain store for food and grocessary. Very neat and clean. Awesome customer service. All vegetables are fresh and well organized but little bit expensive compared to its competitors. However, that makes sense too, high quality in service and products doesn't come free.
This is the smallest valumart i have ever been to. They do not carry some typical items found at other locations. They have too many of some items and not enough of others. I only go here if i have to, and will travel to other locations for a much better selection. There is often stock and ladders in the middle of the asiles regardless of the time i go. It is not accessible to all people with mobility aids. Great staff though.
Cozy and friendly staff.
A good place to go for that "quick shop" but not the place you'd want to do your full grocery list. Watch the produce, they like to keep things well past their date.
This store is my go to place for groceries. The atmosphere of the smaller store is much more inviting than the big superstores and staff are always friendly and helpful.
Local grocery store with regular weekly sales that are excellent. Great selection of all the staples you're looking for.
I am giving 3 stars because of the good variety of grocery items that they have. At the same time, I'm not giving them 5 stars because of their very unprofessional and unfriendly customer service that I believe they do not have suitable training about how to interact with persons with disabilities.
Usually overpriced.. Fine for a quick stop or if you are shopping only for flyer items.
Customer service desk is the way to check out
Great staff, great selection, low prices.
The produce never fails to leave me feeling sick at the site of it. Still not back to normal hours, left the same corn there for a week and it got old and hard and discoloured. To top it off, the stock boys are usually MIA and many shelves are left unstocked for days. For an overpriced grocery store, I would like to see you take more pride in it.
A grocery store that thinks we live in the Northwest Territories. Their prices on items are for people that make at least 200-250k/yr.
Dairy is usually expired or close to expiration. That's tough when you usually run there for things like bread and milk.
I always need to check my receipt as the store tends to misprice items and the customer ends up holding the bag. I am sick of asking for a price check! Anyway, ALWAYS CHECK YOUR RECIPT!!!
Nice neighborhood grocer.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Just went to Valu-mart and grabbed a 4 pack of chicken for 30% and it was all spoiled. Got home to cook it and the package reeked like rotting meat. ***EDIT*** called the store and they gave me a full refund, Give whoever works in the Fresh Meat department a good scolding for not checking product quality.
Everyone is super friendly and the pepper selection is great - so glad to find Shishito peppers here!
Nice little grocery store, they usually have what I need!
Good place for a quick shop in the neighborhood and friendly staff. But the produce isn't the best and some specific products are tough to find.
Produce isn't great here.
I don't really care for this store at all. The items are so over priced, it's supposed to be a valu mart not boutique eateries. I would rather drive anywhere else to buy food then here. Seems every other time the cold deli salads are going bad and tastes it.
Clean, organized, friendly staff
Produce is rarely fresh from my experience and a few times was moldy out of the box (despite checking best before date). Most food there feels like it's on the way out in general. Their in-house bakery also tends to have bread that doesn't taste fresh and goes moldy faster than other Loblaw's owned stores (like say superstore or zehr's). What a shame.
Smaller grocery store with not the best selection, but lots of parking and a good place to stop to pick up forgotten groceries. Very nice and helpful staff. Usually quieter than other grocery stores, so great for COVID.
Noticed staff being very rude to a Disabled person with a child. I get people have bad days. No excuse to act like that. Overpriced goods(knowing seniors in the area cant travel), rude staff, avoid this place.
This is the most expensive grocery store on the planet!!
Love this store. It's the only store that I have found my favorite BBQ Sauce in a large bottle. (Preseident Choice ) Smokin' Stampede Fume.
Didn't even go inside
Friendly staff.
Solid little grocery store. Open late on weekends and has what you need. Find myself stopping by in the evenings, often late, when I need something.
I've been here a couple of times in the last few months (as I was visiting other retailers in the mall) and I doubt I'll ever return to this particular store. Prices are outrageous compared to (most) other grocers in the region. The produce …
Boss would rather let expiring goods go to waste to get a credit on it than offer an expiring soon discount. Buyers beware, better check freshness of product before purchasing.
Great service !great people!GREAT STORE!
Pricey but then again you get what you pay for
Groceries close to home in a mall with a variety of stores.
Kept clean, prices are not ok but deals are hard to find and the bakery is lacking compared to other grocery stores.
Shop here all the time. Staff friendly and store is clean.
Smaller grocery store but friendly staff.
The produce is only so-so and the prices are not of 'value'as the name would lead you to believe...same as any other store in the area.
While I was in there with Omicron being a huge problem, they alllow a middle aged woman to enter the store and shop without a mask! I complained and they shrugged their shoulders at me. Are you kidding me?!! Stay away from this store. They do not follow covid protcol!!
Friendly staff, good range of products!
What an expensive store with pretty sub par products (bread loaves tiny, chicken breast rubbery). Most items can be found cheaper at any other grocery store. I'm not sure why they call it Valu Mart. It must be another language. I'd drive out of my way to avoid this place. To be fair, the produce is good.
Quick and cheap but limited selection and average produce.
Great friendly place to shop most staff is very nice
Fairly well run place. Nice and helpful staff.
Clean, VERY well organized
This is my go-to for quick trips through the week. It's small enough to make your visit as short as you need it to be, and large enough to have everything I need.
Not the place to do a full grocery shop, though it does have lots of options. It's very expensive. Really more of a place to grab something you're missing for dinner. More upscale offerings. Not a lot of alternative options in the neighborhood, so they know they have a captive customer base. Parking lot is a mess but you can usually get quite close to the doors.
The prices are high at this store. It's not great, and doesn't have the best selection. Will only shop here out of convenience since it's on my way home from work, but usually leave feeling irked that I spent too much for too little.
Great prices and love the PC point system.
The place is nearby and has the basics. But the staff seem, well, GRUMPY!!! (All except One lady). I always feel I’m inconveniencing them ????
Good quality & prices.
The reason i go back to valu mart its good customer services and my favorite name its Amanda always smiling and happy it makes u feel like big family in the community i love her
Close, convenient, and has the basics. Was not crowded when I was there.
Great staff .great quality
Great store. Has really friendly staff and fresh produce, meat and dairy. Always kept clean and shelves stocked. Never been disappointed with my quick or long trips.
Great selection friendly staff
Small, easy to find things, close to home, family owned
Nice store....great personal
Friendly staff, very clean, and always well organized
Friendly staff, good selection
Rarely has any good sales
Multiple elderly customers walking around without a mask on. When asking employees why that is allowed they say because those customers have "difficulty breathing/medical conditions". If someone has problems to the point where a mask severely limits their mobility maybe they should not be out recklessly interacting with the general population - a.k.a. the people who are taking precautions for their own safety and people like them? These unmasked customers are arguably putting themselves at a higher risk of infection along with the general population. Stay away from this store if possible.
I'm a senior therefore I like that it is not so big or over crowded. I also like the portion sizes of meat that's packaged. Definitely will recommend!
Clean store and we'll marked and not packed with people during this pandemic
Good for convenience. However I would do my weeks worth of groceries here. The prices are a little high. (Comparitive to zehrs)
Best neighbourhood grocery store and great staff! Thanks Tony.
Ok to visit.
Always my favorite grocery store. Smaller selection, but great customer service and less people than any other local stores.
It's a ok grocery store but you can find better value and better selection .
Small grocery store with moderate selection. Produce is a hit or miss. Wait times for service are usually low.
Great staff, small town feel .. Whats not to like? ... Someone said they'd go out if their way to find a Zehrs because Valuemart is over priced?!?! What?!?! Did that just happen??
Too expensive. Zehrs pricing. Superstore cheaper
Good quality product but a better selection would be ideal.
Decent enough selection, I got what I needed.
Small store good to pick up a few things. Selection is quite limited and I've had bad luck in the produce department. Cashiers are very nice though
Bought a watermelon from here on Saturday afternoon, went to eat it on a Tuesday night and it literally fell apart, the green rind pulled right off, and like 5 gallons of water went all over my kitchen, it was horrific!!
On the whole lot of this story is your mediocre small town grocery store
Fantastic staff and wonderful owner. Very very enjoyable to go in to a place and they know who you are
Nice place to shop and they have good fruit and vegetables
Great people always with a smile
Small and setup weird, hard to find anything.
Very insanely overpriced. Shut the store down and get a Nofrills in there. Should be called RipoffMart. Learn how to spell value and actually apply it.
Sometimes u can get better deals there
Always the people who works there are very friendly
Super friendly staff. Quick to get through this little store. Only negative comment is the milk bags always smell sour on the outside no matter how fresh they are!
Quick in and out ..Well stocked.. deli.. hot food.
A solid little grocery store. Kept very clean and we'll stocked, despite its relatively small size. The staff tend to be friendly and knowledgeable about where to find products. Overall, a recommended place to shop.
Ok store, not too many deals unless you buy 2. Prices more like Zehrs and less like Basics. Decent medium sized grocery store, good for picking up a few things, but I would shop at a bigger store for regular weekly grocery purchases.
Always a great place for a quick shopping trip. Friendly and helpful staff.
Way too pricey!
Little small but has the food so all is well
Needs renovations like the whole plaza with super store merchandise but higher prices
Great spot for a quick lunch but not always a healthy choice.
Good selection and good deals on some products.
Fresh little market, have not been for awhile! Sweet Corn- 10 for $2! Clean and all was accessible! Thanks for the help, Pauline! Again one of those days, your intentions are a couple of things... Well some good deals, so I got a cart full! Lol! Thank you for understanding and all the help! Really, thank you ???? Keep Golden!
Staff is always friendly and helpful and they're quick check you through! Thanks!
Find there prices are to much money
This is a little grocery store in a very convenient location, they have almost everything that the big shops do. The layout takes some getting used to but seems well organized. I expected Valu-mart to be cheaper than Zehrs, because of the smaller stock and more basic items...but unfortunately that is not the case. After a few comparison trips it turns out Zehrs is always less expensive for the same items - which is disappointing, but there is something to be said for convenience, I live nearby and will continue to stop here for quick items. Customer service has definitely improved since I first moved to the area, so I have updated my review.
Smaller well laid out store
Great place but continuously mislabeled prices which they do nothing about except waste your time while they make you wait to see if what you are saying is true. Then when they see that it you are correct, they say "sorry about that" and do nothing for you. Ahh but they did. They wasted your time once again. Always check that items are going through for what you think they are.
expensive and not much brand selection.
Store is small and more expensive then zehrs they really have nerve calling this place valu mart since there is no value to be had here
Great store great prices great staff
Went in and staff there were following me & looking in my basket every opportunity they got. Horrible customer service.
Great Employees but man its pricey. They carry PC but the celery is 6 bucks.
I shop here frequently only as a matter of convenience, watch your dates on packaged goods, fruits and vegetables are almost the worst I have seen. Help is something to be desired. It appears to be having difficulty with staff, fruit, vegetables as well as the bakery dept. It's a shame that they can't bring it back to it's heyday, possibly due to becoming more of a medical building than a shopping experience.
The clerk at the express check-out, #221, seemed very friendly and talkative to the person in front of me. I stood there for a few minutes while they had a discussion. She started ringing in my purchase and paid no attention to me at all and she continued her discussion with the person ahead of me who had completed her purchase. The clerks should be taught to pay attention to the person they are dealing with. This will cut down on any chances of mistakes. I have had this happen before with other clerks. Obviously, they are not being trained to pay attention to the person they are dealing with and cut out the gabbing with other clerks or customers. Being friendly is one thing but pay attention to business and keep the line moving.
They offer fresh produce with a deli section while still having most of the pc products and other products you find most places. The prices can get a little on the up side sometimes but considering there are NO other supermarkets near me this is a great place to go. The cashiers are super friendly and they even bag your groceries. This places is clean and well organized!
Tired of getting pestered for a review from some place I have not been to
Not alot of variety and specialty foods, but good for picking up the essentials.
I only shop there for the sale items but they have a great deli
Way over priced. And poor selection.
The store was clean, organized, produce was amazing, no lines and each staff member i spoke to was extremely friendly, especially the cashier!!! Highly recommend
Picking up some food for a friend. The prices are reasonable.
Friendly staff, good management, I went their for the grocery shopping for first time and employee name Rahul had helped us.
Not a huge selection- sometimes overpriced. Not the freshest but the staff is great and helpful.
Clean friendly limited variety and overpriced
Good store but check the produce dates before buying. The often hide 50% off stickers/best before yesterday salads so if you are not paying attention you might not realize you have bought old produce until its too late
I went there on Friday 21st August,2020 to buy groceries. Very nice staff and excellent customer service. There is a lot of varieties available and staff at Produce department was very supportive. Will sure go once again. Thank you so much for being very supportive and for marvellous customer service.
Always handy. Our local supermarket.
Your everyday grocery store, with alright sellection.
Cashiers are ignorant.
Good grocery store for your everyday essentials. Don't expect much for an international section and to have much variety/selection of many products. But they make up for it with having lots of staff to get you through the checkout and answer questions on the sales floor.
My good friend was here at this store today and bought cooked Chicken, pasta, sandwich and a Mountain Dew. He walks a lot and carries a red hand bag. He was stopped by a older to middle age woman By the name of Norma? Who asked him RUDELY to check in his bag. He had nothing to hide, and allowed her to do so.With out hesitation. I understand you the store have the right to ask to do this, how ever it is our right to allow you to do this as well, and grant you permission Norma. If in future you ask a customer to do this, and it is unfounded. It would be kind and polite of you to thank them once they have been cleared and done so. It is called manners and is respectful to your customers.
Store is always clean, shelves are stocked and checkout is fast. Great staff.
For a small supermarket this place has a good selection. There's a deli section and a small natural foods section, but no bulk foods, or wine, or flowers.
Their prices are not good unless they put it on sale. Love their bakery though!
Pretty good selection for a smaller supermarket. Same deals as Zehrs Markets.
It's a Loblaws franchise/affiliate type of store, smaller than corporate owned versions of Loblaws supermarkets, therefore higher than average prices, but conveniently located, only supermarket within walkable-with-a-load-of-groceries distance from here. PC products, PC Optimum points, occasional deep mark downs on products at or slightly ahead of best before date. Clean and orderly looking, but a few years back, if you happened to pick up the last bag in a stack of 4 litre bags of milk, it didn't look as though spills under there were routinely cleaned. Until one day they were taking that refrigerated section apart, presumably because it needed repair, and that exposed a layer of congealed crud under there. It has been cleaner since then. Reminded me of that old superstition that says it's bad luck to look behind your refrigerator - it means you'll have to clean there. Problems encountered as late as the summer of 2018, but haven't seen them since then: - Occasionally a restocking gap in the frozen vegetables section, making it possible to see the bottom of the freezer in that location, exposing to view loose objects down there that were perhaps, once upon a time, frozen green peas or corn from one or more broken bags, but had become almost unrecognizable over time. - The bread section would sometimes smell stale. - In the produce section, bulk, unpackaged purple garlic was sometimes moldy or otherwise deteriorated, due to old stock being left, apparently in perpetuity, in the display box when fresh stock was added. Wondered if they should just discontinue it as a product category, if it doesn't sell well enough, locally, to justify the expense of keeping stock fresh. Or perhaps store management had the same fantasy as one of my relatives, that garlic can't go bad. - Bulk, unpackaged sweet corn, baskets of tomatoes and dill sized cucumbers were sometimes visibly deteriorated, without being consigned to what could be called the used produce trolley in the back corner. I had never previously seen, elsewhere, bulk sweet corn that deteriorated, basically looking like it was starting to decompose, but still on display. Haven't seen problems like that at this store with other types of fresh produce. Beyond that previous garlic mold problem, consistently it was a problem only in the summer with some of the in-season local produce, such as bulk sweet corn, baskets of field tomatoes and dill size cucumbers. Causes me to wonder if Loblaws/Valumart requires certain product categories to be at least nominally in stock, but store management doesn't always see their way clear to getting behind those product categories. So why do I buy perhaps 50% of my groceries here? - It's close enough to carry 20 kg home in a backpack and a large reusable cloth grocery bag, on foot. - While smaller than average for a supermarket, it does have a more or less complete range of frequently purchased products. - Between weekly sale prices and PC Optimum points, and stocking up on larger quantities of staple products, when on sale, that I'm going to eventually buy anyway, I keep average costs down to much the same price that I would pay elsewhere, at larger, more distant supermarkets.
Great grocery store to get in and out quick.
Not bad for convenience serves the neighborhoods needs. Helpful staff quick check out.
I love this Valu-mart! I regularly do curbside pick up, and the staff at this location always go above and beyond to make sure my order is what I need and want. They're so friendly and if they need to make a substitution, they always check with me and work to make an appropriate substitution. My order is always ready on time and they seem to remember who I am which gives the store a 'small-time' vibe. While they are a smaller store and have less selection than other stores, they more than make up for it in their friendliness and good service. Very happy to shop here all the time!
Good for the basic needs. Never a lineup. Groceries are a bit on the expensive side.
affordable price range and quality products
Bought two salads and they give you small dressing. My chicken was supposed to come with dip but not today, apparently!
Good variety. Great Manager.
They stock most things you need which makes this a great place to shop at. Very convenient and friendly staff.
A little pricey but if you just need a few things it isn't bad. It is never really busy which is nice.
convenient..one stop grocery, lottery , tobacco and Deli place.
Super overpriced and bad selection. Like seriously sometimes double the price as other places. Staff are great though
worst store in area pricy grumpy staff overall stay away
It is a good grocery store for the area, but I do find it a bit more expensive than other brands in the Loblaws family.
4 stars because prices are unusually high even for store brand products, however its nice to have something close in a pinch
Nice little ticked away grocery store. Has all the essentials of a zehrs but not the crowd.
Shopped here multiple times over the last year. Tony, the owner, has the gall to scream and swear at his young female employees to the point they end up in tears at their registers. Produce is ALWAYS disgusting and near rotted, I found mold in the dairy section behind all the yogurt, which is ridiculous, as well as where the bagged milk sits. You can smell how rotten everything is. Anti-maskers shop freely in this store, making everyone uncomfortable. Managers do not care if you, the customer, speak up about issues, stating that they don't get paid to do Tony's job... then why is Tony not doing his job? How does a man like that even have a business license? The workers they have working the lanes clearly do not like their jobs... one girl, I think her name is Lucia, is always grumpy and rude when she checks me out. If you don't want to work customer service, then don't. Things were much better before covid, it makes me wonder how badly these poor workers have been treated over the last year for them to be so miserable and to take it out on customers. Will not be coming back after my last experience. No value at this valumart, you're better to go up the road to Zehrs on Ottawa Street, kinder staff and very clean.
Good selection,clean and quick service
Store is great, clean, organized. Parking lot needs to be redone.
Prices are fair and service was friendly
Close, convenient and friendly.
Expensive, not great selection, but convenient
Great well stocked local grocery store
It's a grocery store, nothing fancy. I like it because it's close to me, and it's not one of these massive superstores. Small, and I know where everything is, so I can get in and out in only a few minutes. It isn't the cheapest grocery store around, but a few more pennies in cost won't break me, and the convenience of the location and size is well worth it. Staff is always friendly and super helpful.
Great for essentials but limited selection.
Some items a little pricy
Nice clean, well stocked, friendly staff
Little overpriced for selection and variety.
Wonderful staff, friendly and extremely proffesional with everything they do. Oh and Mr belfiore is a kind man who you will see working hard while running his own store.
Great specials on meat
Friendly staff, quick deli.
Good, but higher prices than most places.
On the smaller side for a grocery store but it still has a great selection and it tends to be easier for quick shopping trips. Prices are about the same as any other grocery store.
A store
Great deli for a small store.
nice small store never to busy. always clean and friendly staff.
Very nice store clean with lots of nice fresh produce, meats and dry goods.
The only reason I shopped here was because it is the most convenient grocery store to get to from home. The staff is friendly and it’s rarely busy. However, the manager was rude when I questioned about price matching the price of water. Another Loblaws banner has it for much cheaper but it isn’t as convenient to go to. He told me if I wanted water for this price I should have gone there instead. Well, I guess I will just do my shopping elsewhere.
Amazing place to shop, every item placed appropriately to excess fast shopping, great customer service.
