Pretty solid though expensive. As local grocery stores get more savvy about produce, Vic's will come up short. A Save-On-Foods will equal anything here and, of course, add the zillions of extras of a mega store. Vic's plus is as a place to get MB-made products. Local foods +++ Vic's is a little hard to find. Look for Cambridge Beer store and use that lot. Vic's is in the corner.

This is a great store hidden on Pembina. They always have a great selection of great produce as well as many local sauces. I don’t believe they take credit card so bring debit or cash.

Their produce is hand selected ensuring your purchase consists of only the highest quality goods. Of course, such high quality does come with a price, but at Vic's Fruit Market, it's worth every penny!

Vic's was recommended to us shortly after we moved downtown, but today was the first time we had a chance to make a visit. The name totally underestimates this place because it is way more than a fruit stand. There are tons of in-house made things, like meats (burgers, stuffed chicken breasts, sausages, etc.), soups galore, pasta sauces and more. Much of the produce features local products, lots of it organic. There's also quite a nice selection of gourmet pantry items and dried pastas and organic spices. The Deli counter is nicely stocked, too. They carry a good selection of cheeses including Bothwell (best cheese on the planet). Right now, the store is a bit difficult to find amongst all the construction, but it is definitely worth the trip. We will be making Vic's a regular stop for sure.

Excellent local market in the Fort Gary area of Winnipeg. This market carries fresh fruit grown here in Canada and the fruits change based on the season. It's a great reminder of years past when you would get excited for blueberries in July because you knew it was the right season. This local market also supports many local farms in the area as well as other local markets. Sometimes I really want some beef jerky from Miller's meats and luckily Vic's carries that as well. You will find a lot of wholesome products that come from the farm not the factory.

While theres a great variety of fruit, vegetables and the like, I’m very disappointed, unlike grocery chains, carts nor baskets are sanitized, and hand sanitizer is not immediately at the front door as you walk in. Nor did I notice they did not sanitize at check out.

Every time I shop at this market I am amazed at the selection, and the ripe fragrance emitting from the produce. There is not only fruit but great vegetables. Some are grown locally in greenhouses so garden fresh is available all year like cucumbers, herbs and cherry tomatoes. Shop here weekly. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. This best .

Nice selection, especially for cheeses and local pantry products. However, the prices on fruits and veggies are too high, even on the non speciality produce. The man working up front and the cashiers were very friendly, but the girl working in the deli was quite rude and is not fit for a customer service role at all. Overall, a good market but I can't say I'll rush to return.

The produce and deli are great, the selection of prepared foods is wonderful and ever-expanding (thanks, Nick!) , and if they don't carry something they'll happily bring in a case and see if it sells. But that's only a small part of why go there. I love the fact that I can shop where everybody knows my six-year-old by name (and Scott chased me down in the parking lot to send me home with a dozen roses the first time I shopped there after he was born!) and takes the time to chat with him on those occasions he is with me when I shop. I love the fact that when somebody asks "How are you,?" they wait for an an answer, and that I know something their lives, and they of mine.

My boyfriend introduced me to this little grocery store and I love it!!! All the produce is always SO fresh, the staff is friendly, and they have a large selection of sauces, spices, jams, cheeses, etc that you won’t find in your local Walmart. 10/10 if you like to cook like I do and prefer to use quality fresh ingredients, this is the place for you !

I'm from France where we have lots of fresh vegetables and fruits and so many markets with the tastiest products direct from producers that are cheap...When I came to live in Winnipeg I was told about this place where I could finally find some good vegetables and fruits. I came and tried it out and it was true! I found good quality stuff, and even if it is much more expensive than in France with our fresh market culture, I don't mind at all paying the price. When I came, I also thought I would find the "spirit" of markets in the store: friendly people, relaxed, open minded, smiling people etc. Luckily, Nick and the owner are very friendly and represent the spirit I had hoped to find. However, I have had a few bad experiences with women working at the cashier...every time I came, I spend a lot of money, and every time after leaving the cashier, I told myself I ll never come again to this store: my experiences were an insult to all the values of what a market represents. They do not smile, they have so much attitude, and they give the general impression that you are bothering them and that the only thing that they care about is to finish the day and not be bothered by customers. As an exemple (which this review is about), I had a 200$ bill a few days ago and we had so much stuff on the counter, and 2 times I thought she had already scanned the products so I put them in my bag, and she looked at me like I was trying to steal them (with an over 200$ bill...) and you could see in her eyes that she almost wanted to punch me in the face. That was very disrespectful, and it has been a few times that my boyfriend and I told ourselves that the cashier had a lot of attitude, so we shouldn't come back again, because having that kind of services, we rather go the a grocery store, which is very sad. Also, on two occasions, I had to explain that my French visa DEBIT card (which says debit on it) was not a credit card : with the cashiers arguing with me in a ton that made it seem I was stupid. Please, owners, try and spread your positive energy throughout your staff.
