Excellent market !! In these trying times, I have been a bit worried about leaving my house but I felt truly safe and comfortable with the precautions put in place at La Mantia’s Country Market . Dave, the owner, was very nice and helped me gather all the fresh produce I needed for my homemade salads . Though my secret ingredient (added love) always makes my salads the talk of the town, I believe it was the EXCELLENT vegetables that put it over the top !

I shop here but not going to anymore. I would much rather shop where you can feel the happiness. The cashiers (older ladies ) and even the young bigger blonde cashier acts like she hates her job. Can't be bothered to have a smile on her face or even talk to you while she cashes you out and acts like you are some kind of animal or somethin , you can smell the attitude off them throughout the whole store. Put a smile everybody come on!!!!!!! I'll follow the advice of others in my life and not shop here anymore because I see the ignorance for myself now.

It's highly for Alcoholism. I wish they'd remove Deli's from grocery. The produce is averagely varied. Some prices fluctuation through store. Nice they have solar voltaic panels, but too morbid that it's keeping boxes of corpses cold (anti eco friendly). Accessable more easily by foot than the others, in a residential zone, until near crossing the tarlot. There is 0 green space, 100% developted..Locally known. it looks like an asylum (la mentia). Not much for windows. Brick???? . Care more about covid than life itself. 1of4 grocery.

This is by far my favourite grocery store in Lindsay. They have beautiful produce, cheese, baked goods and meat. They have a wide selection of beer, wine and ciders. Which is very convenient. The staff are lovely and very friendly. Fantastic place!

My husband and I shop here regularly. The store is clean and very well stocked with excellent quality produce, meat and an array of anything we need or want. They have a super deli area with excellent quick prepared meals for a healthy alternative to convenient take-out. The staff goes above and beyond when it comes to answering questions or providing support. We feel very safe shopping here too, during these frustrating times the world is experiencing.

I wish I lived closer so I could shop here more often. The bakery is excellent - get the cannoli! - with items I don't usually see in the area. Great meat selection, premade meals, salads... this store is really good for folks that live alone or spend a lot of time working. As an aside: thank you for not being afraid to enforce the masking policy.

Been going for years, however produce needs some TLC. Last few months certain produce (tomatoes on vines, eggplants, bulk fruit like plums ) have had mold on stems or bruises. I don’t know if it’s new hiring, but a better eye on vegetable quality is needed

Best customer service by far in any grocery store i’ve been to. I was visiting Lindsay for the weekend, and had gone here because of good reviews from friends, and they had blown my expectations out of the park. Staff was so friendly, and the store was very clean and well organized. When I came in the manager had greeted me and asked what I was looking for and directed me to the right place. I should also add that everyone wearing their masks made me feel very comfortable and safe. I am very thankful for all that they are doing regarding the mandatory restrictions.

AWESOME service , fresh fruits and vegetables picked up twice weely grown in Canada (when possible); In-store bakery; deli and salad bar; in-store butcher shop with a butcher on duty to discuss cuts of meats. The business owner David LaMantia, is always available to chat with too. And it was a wise move applying to be a vendor to sell beer. David is an avid supporter and distributor of craft breweries.

I have never met staff and managers that treat customers so poorly. I left there shaking after I was harassed when trying to buy wine because my drivers license looked different (my card had a paper attached to it because my new one is coming in the mail.. quite a normal thing). There was no one else in line (thank goodness) or I would have felt bad for those people for having to wait for such an ordeal. I had no problem being ID'd, it was how the manager and cashier dealt with the situation that was extremely embarrassing for them. The cashier called the manager and created a big scene for no reason. The manager even stood in front of my friend and prevented him from walking to pick up the items I’d already gone to such trouble to pay for after they finally accepted my ID that they both looked at over and over as if it was foreign. I’m surprised anyone even shops here because not only is the selection and quality terrible, the people working there are worse and they shouldn’t even be in business. I’ve tried shopping here twice before and left with nothing because they didn’t have what I wanted in stock. I thought I would try them just this once more for a couple of things since the other small shops were closed on a Monday. What a mistake. I mentioned this experience many locals and they assured me that this terrible customer service is why they don’t shop here anymore. Save yourself the trouble and shop somewhere else.

Sometimes fate has a way of putting you in the right place at the right time. My wife and I live in Oshawa... on September 1, we decided to load our bikes on the back of our vehicle and head to Lindsay to spend the day touring the streets and trails around town. While cycling, we rode by La Mantia's Country Market. After completing our cycling day, we decided to return to the Market and pick up something for dinner. To our surprise, La Mantia's had a large selection of ready-to-cook items, for putting a meal together. Our choices included stuffed pork chops with an apple cranberry stuffing and baked, seasoned acorn squash with pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries, onions, peppers and poppy seed dressing. We never anticipated how delicious the meal would be. Our taste buds exploded. Lindsay, you have a gem in your back yard. Thank you to the staff at La Mantia's Country Market.

The treatment of many mask exempt individuals is disgusting. I believe discrimination is absolutely prevalent here and it needs to be addressed. There are medical exemptions for a reason. You have lost this family's business indefinitely.

As I was shopping in the store, the owner Dave LaMantia approached me like he has in the past. I figured he was going to ask me if I was finding everything alright, but instead he accused me of stealing. He greeted me with the stern voice and said "please remove the beer from your pocket". I was confused and I asked him if this was a joke? He then went on to say that he watched me on video surveillance and that I put a large can of beer in my pocket. I had placed 6 cans of beer in my shopping cart but at the age of 32 stealing a can of beer is the last thing on my mind. So after I emptied my pockets I politely told him to go F himself and that I would be posting this review on google. He simply shrugged his shoulders and said hey these things happen. One of the things that bothers me the most was that he accused me right in front of other customers. So if you feel like being belittled and accused of shoplifting by the owner then go to LaMantia's, otherwise stay far away from this terrible establishment.

We drive almost 1 hour to shop at La Mantia's. We drive by 7 competing supermarkets. We enjoyed La Mantia's having a Euro name, reminding of my youth, shopping with my parents in Toronto. We were in need of Phyllo pastry, for a Greek Pastry, I called, they had stock.,they didnt know price. Upon arrival, the carts are outdoors, unattended. Every other market we shop at, has a dedicated worker to sanitize the carts, going in, and taking the cart upon departing. Not so Euro, inviting anymore. I am disabled, my wife is the driver. We are in our 60s,well dressed, adults. We enter, my wife asked for the location of the restroom to relieve herself, she was told "our washrooms are only for employees"very disappointing. Anygrocery store we have shopped at, all have washroom facilities available for their guest's. We shooppped, the phyllo pastry was close to $8.00. Exorbitant! I ask to speak to the manager, Jamie is summoned. He shows up, I am told it's hard to find employees, looking and speaking toJaime, I can.see why. Total lack of communication skills, looking dishevelled. "We don't have a washroom" I asked for the owner number, he should, would care. I was given a pamphlet with history of the store, and Dave's #. I called left a message. We depart, went up the road to Club Warehouse store, where we both used their handicap friendly washroom, and we shopped. Dave returned my call, I explained what happened, he sounded like he couldn't care Less . And at that point neither did I. You think his predecessor would have cared???? 3stars for 1 most staff 2 meat 3 name

I recently ordered meat and vegie trays for a family birthday from Lamantia's. My parents shop there all the time. and I have been there with them. I don't live in Lindsay or close ,, or I would also shop there. Their fruit, vegies, meat,, actually everything in the store is good quality. The store is always neat and very clean. The employees are also very friendly and helpful. I had a great experience with my party orders. The meat was top quality and placed very nicely on the platters, The vegies were very fresh, and the carrots where actually GOOD carrots. Not the small chemically sprayed mini carrots. I have never seen another grocery store use the full size carrots and chop them up themselves. All the trays were packed with lots of variety and top quantity as well. I would highly recommend Lamantia's .. and want to also say Thankyou for your excellent and friendly service. I will definitely go back.

The other two ladies are busy moving some flowers so I wait, then there are 4 other customers waiting..They look over but do not open another till so I tell the clerk they should open another till. He just looks over at them and says sorry to me.Then the two lady clerks leave.Very bad customer sevice. .

The only reason this isn't a one star is because they have pretty good prices on their meat selection. Other then that. Their staff is rude and will stare at anyone that doesn't look like they are from town. I know more than a few people that won't shop here for this exact reason. My girlfriend will no longer shop here alone because of this. Try giving the same respect to others that you would expect people to give you, no matter where they are from. It's just unacceptable.

We're new to the town and after trying out each of the grocery markets in Lindsay I'd rate this one as just slightly better than average. The deli section is very good - definitely above the rest, with terrific selection and products very nicely presented. The dry goods selection is limited in selection and shows room for improvement in how things are displayed. Parking is decent but shopping cart outside storage and cart self sanitation set up are pretty disappointing.

Fabulous produce and a full deli area, they carry a wide selection of cheeses, one of the only places we can find apple cinnamon goat cheese which is delicious, try it if you haven't had it. Great meat selection, some of the biggest chickens I've ever seen and nicely marbled steaks. They have baskets of fresh plums, potatoes, beets etc (in season) At the front of the store. There's also a good selection of baked goods and breads. We bought a pkg of sub buns that were as fresh as if they just came out of the oven. Definitely a must stop place when we're in Lindsay.

This is s great small town privately owned grocery store their prices are fair but you can't expect low prices from a store that is not with a franchise company like Walmart or Lob laws. I have been going to this store for so long and can honestly say that they have the best produce in the entire province. Not once have I seen any bruise or wilting on any fruit or vegetable. The staff is always so kind and eager to help. However, I am so sorry to the owner for all of the negative reviews coming from people who do not care about the safety and health of others :( I do not understand that if they are exempt from wearing a mask that they should not be out in a global pandemic. There are other options available, for example delivery, or curbside pick up. I find it very admirable that the market is holding such high standards and working very hard to keep everyone safe.

Great alternative to the chain stores! Unique assortment, aggressive specials. Love the ready-made meals in the deli, store prepared meats, and the produce variety is always interesting to name a few.

Reminiscent of the old time grocery stores but with some modern enhancements. Reasonable prices and friendly service. Hours of operation would be the only drawback as I'm sometimes forced to go to other stores after work because they're closed.

This is my favourite store! They sell fresh produce and offer a great selection. I also love their deli and meats and the store-made cookies. The staff are very friendly and helpful as well as conscientious with regard to public safety. I feel very safe shopping there in these uncertain times. Pride of ownership is quite evident. They were extremely rude after allowing me into their store to "contaminate" it, by not wearing a mask for health reasons, get to the cash with my purchase, they refused to take my money if I did not put on a mask. They threatened to call the police on me, at which point, I left all my contaminated produce at the cash and left. I'll never waste my money there again. P.S To the owner of the store. There are medical exemptions for good reason. The medical community and the province itself recognizes that. Every other grocery store in town recognizes that. The Human Rights Tribunal recognizes that. Apparently, you do not. You sir do not have a medical license. You do not know the medical issues suffered by many of your clientele, nor do you seem the least but compassionate towards them. You have no authority mandating a medical device be worn on anyone. Experts agree that they should not be worn by everyone. That is the reason you have shields up around your cash counters. You would do well to realize that.

I would like the owner to review the HKPR Health Unit Site FAQs when it comes to the use of Non-Medical Masks. Specifically - "Who is exempt from wearing a Mask?" & "Do I have to disclose my medical condition if I don't wear a mask?" Let me just say - I use to enjoy walking into La Mantia's but no more. I do have a legitimate reason for not wearing a mask and I left there feeling as though I was a thief. I will no longer recommend that anyone visit the establishment.
