Staff are pretty friendly, it's well stocked with lots of variety of produce, breads, some ethnic food veggies, etc. Good prices and sales. Could have a better selection and prices of vegetarian meats and cheese. Ailes are a bit narrow, and people don't follow the directional arrows, nor distance as much as they should... so I would go at a slower time.

Great prices, albeit less selection than you might get from other PC grocers. What really wins it for me is the noname selection of naturally imperfect in their produce section. You get a large number of "imperfect" vegetables for about half the price. Usually imperfection means small or oddly shaped, but of you are using it in any recipe the quality is perfect. Also, you can get some great deals with their frozen meats, but just know they rotate, so don't expect to find a product every time you go there.

Good afternoon gentlemen of No'Frill wish to put a complaint, of what we happened in the super frill of No frill in Upper James, Hamilton, ON. It turns out that today 05/07/2017 we were shopping at the supermarket as at about 8:00 pm, since we are frequent customers of the supermarket, and at the time of payment we had a problem like my debit card, could not do Payment, I immediately told the cashier that I was going to go to the cashier TD Bank, which is practically opposite I was not going to delay more than 5 minutes and that I was returning to pay in cash the purchase, when I go to the cashier, my wife She is waiting with my newborn daughter in her arms for me to return to finish paying the purchases. And there came a manager or supervisor of the arrogant boxes that humiliated my wife; And ordered to return all the products that we were going to pay; My wife told me 5 minutes please, my wife comes with the money, and the lady gestured him to leave and give space, so much humiliation, that my wife left the supermarket super angry to wait for me outside, and To finish making us feel bad, a lady approached us with money giving us thinking that it was that we did not have money; The truth we are very sad with this situation, my wife today I cry in the house for this, and we are good customers, we do not deserve or deserve this type of treatment or humiliation of any of your employees of No frill. Thanks for your kind attention

Some cashiers are very rude, they dont even greet u, they chit chat with other cashiers about random stuff just ignoring u totally. Very unprofessional, very rude, seems like un trained, not enough emphasis given on customer service during their training. One example they totally ignored the price on the floor, didnt honor the listed price, instead they told us rudely, no, doesnt matter what sign says, price is wrong. Hopefully Tony can start training his staff better for customer satisfaction. Look at following picture, even with price tag 3.97, they didnt honor it, they wanted to charge 4.97 still.

This place is cramped and busy! Typical of a grocery chain of this price range, veggies aren’t always “top quality” and neither is the meat but it is mostly cosmetic issues. The aisles are narrow and with all the people in the store, it’s not a pleasant experience. Decent prices. I’d just grab aisle stuff there though in a less busy time slot

No frills is a pretty good discount grocery store. Nothing fancy here. The idea is lower prices without a grand presentation. As it turns out; you have to be careful with grocery stores. Prices may not necessarily be lower because of the name. You should compare store to store. Shop the specials. Use the flyers to sort out some of the price difference. Be careful. I have noticed employees sorting out the spolied inventory. I have purchased fruit and vegetables that have gone in the trash due to poor quality. Check things out carefully.

I've had really bad experiences with this place and only use them if I'm desperate and in a pinch. The female manager hopefully is gone, she's rude and doesn't know the law. If you place the wrong items in a bunker and it's under$10 I believe you have to give it to the customer at the price you have posted. Produce isn't as fresh af other locations, I've bought berries that look ok and the next day you go to wash then and they're stuck together with mold. It is getting cleaner though so that's a plus. I'm sure food basics across the street will give you a run for your money, they may not price match across the street but they usually have a better flyer anyways

It’s better than the one at Mohawk and Upper Sherman. Don’t forget a quarter to unlock a cart and bring bags so you don’t have to pay for them. Also, you can use your PC Optimum points, which is nice.

Over crowded parking lot with no where near enough parking spots for the amount of business' in the plaza. The store itself is crammed with barely enough room for 2 shopping carts side by side in the aisle, and it seems like its always busy. Wouldn't recommend.

Just ri8 now had very very vwry bad experiance. Like i went to buy 1 specific thing for grocery and i was at the entrance at 9:25pm and i saw one paper written on the gate that "wet floor" and i asked to open the door they said it is closed. As it supposed to open till 10 pm but due to poor service of the employer like they dont want to work. Not good experiance. They should allow customers till closing time like everyone do. Good prices, the frozen sections and vegan sections are extremely limited. The isles and bunkers are too close together making you feel crowded. The store was very dirty and questionable vegetable quality. The head of iceberg lettuce was the size of two fists together and brown.

The staff are miserable, the produce is rotting with bugs crawling on it, the place is filthy, they often run out of product, and I've bought more mouldy food there than I thought possible. Navigating both the parking lot and the store is always a challenge. Cheapest grocery store on Upper James but it also looks the cheapest inside. If you want a No Frills, do yourself a favor and go to the one on Queenston and Nash.

Umm first of all. Lets talk about the entrance and exit. If you dont find that that you wanna buy and if you want to leave forget it. Coz you have pass from the cashier line which sometimes is too big. And m not complaining or saying its bad but you guys should accept credit cards too. And last week it came to buy some tomatoes but there were flies all over the tomatoes. Man take care of the hygiene and freshness.

I like shopping here because it's convenient for me. When they have on sale products, you have to come early as it gets sold out fast especially stuff like rice or canned foods. This store has some good stuff and not so overpriced. I like shopping there on wednesdaus and thursdays as I noticed that it has more options for vegetables and more fresh. Hope this helps.

We have had a positive experience with this No Frills store. Although it was very busy and there was a huge lineup for checkout, we found all our items. This store has a big parking lot and the store itself seems quite big. We liked their produces and some bakery items. The price is pretty reasonable at No Frills. During this pandemic, they are doing awesome job. The cashier was nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place.

Tony's No Frills needs a serious overhaul. He has lots of staff on hand but they don't seem to be doing much for him. Lots of rotting produce on hand. I was looking for various bagged salads and the showcase was more than 50% empty with stories of "no delivery today". Food has become very expensive but I don't think the deals are here at this store.

Some other No Frills I've shopped at during covid have really confusing set up on now to line up for the cash register but not this one. This is in my opinion the best grocery store in the area because of their great selection of "Traditional" and "International" products. The selection is much better than Food Basics.. just as their produce is better and their cut flowers are better. I have to say their selection of lunch meat is lousy though.. I did notice that yesterday. Oh and the clearance rack they do up there is awesome. Lol. Literally every time I see it I end up grabbing at least one or two items.. usually at 50% off. Can't beat that. Often times if you're lucky.. you can find nice Tupperware sets.. cutting board/knife sets.. lightbulbs etc. for a fraction of the price. So yes.. if saving money is a priority then I definitely suggest checking that out whenever you can. There's also a lot to do in the area.. one-stop-shopping if you will. There's a Little Cesar's and an RBC.. flowers/garden supply stuff from either the No Frills parking lot or across the street and then grab a bite to eat at the nearby fry wagon or sausage cart across the street. Oh.. 4/5 stars only because the spacing and layout of the isles is a bit tricky to navigate with a buggy. This is a non issue for me personally.. however.. I could see how some might feel uncomfortable or become clausterphobic even. Just make sure to always say excuse me and please and thank you! ????

This a great No Frills, produce is fresh and the store has undergone a makeover which makes it much easier to navigate the isles. It used to be very difficult to get around this store. You can often find the owner Tony in the store helping to stock the isles with his staff. The cashiers all seem to be high school age which is great that Tony employs so many young people in the community. All round great grocery store but it can be very hectic at times with long line ups at the cash registers.

Line up for checkout streams from cahier, around the frozen deserts, all the way down dairy and across the back of store to the meat section. Unfortunately ppl dont follow direction posted everywher so managers need to control otherwise ppl will become sick especially your staff. This is a worst No frills I've ever been in. The store is messy, even after the renovation they did last year. The isles are still way too crammed with big crates of stuff with plastic wraps on. I was there recently and I had to leave my shopping cart behind because I couldn't push it through the isle as it was blocked off by a crate. This guy who's stocking staff there started yelling at me in the middle of the store. I explained I couldn't get through the isle because it's all blocked and yet he was still yelling at me and telling me to go around the whole produce section. The cashier was unfriendly as well, she gave me attitude because I got in line to check out before she was about to go on break, yet she didn't put the "line closed" sign on. How is it that as the paying customer I should be treated like this.

I was here, not only they aren't well familiar with concept that express lanes reduce traffic and it's more important to decrease traffic at cashier line than to just keep them 2 m apart. Decrease their duration if line is shortened by fast tracking things. But as a health care worker, they didnt follow the example of many other stores. I was in there 2 weeks back and reported the expired bars. I would have expected to see them removed right away. I was shocked to see them still there earlier this week. Still a good place to shop just check the best before or expiry dates to make sure the dating is good for you.

I personally think that this is one of the worst "No Frills" grocery stores in the city of Hamilton. It would only take you one or two trips to figure out exactly why I feel this way about this location. Thank goodness that is there not only a Walmart a few blocks away but there is a newly opened and renovated Food Basics across the street which was previously a Metro grocery store. As I don't drive anymore I'm very glad that this store is not my only option for groceries in my area.

Worked here for 4 years... absolute mess The quality control is non existent, Tony is an inefficient manager, who has little concern for worker safety. Several examples are... -Allowing workers to operate electronic hand jacks with no training OR steel toed shoes while carrying 1200lb skids. -Forcing workers to climb on top of 8ft high skids with a low ceiling where electrical wires hang to pass product down. -Allowing the use of the push carts as makeshift step ladders. -On one occasion requiring staff to clean up human feces outside the store with no personal protection. -Physically kicking a 30lb bag of garbage at an employee during an outburst In addition to all this, his lack of concern for his employees safety and general concern for how the store is run leads to the disgusting conditions the store is in, such as rotten produce on the shelves and expired meat and dairy. Signage and pricing is minimal to non existent on many products forcing cashiers to waste time continually looking up prices since his staff in the office "can't be bothered" to make new signs even when requested by staff. All in all you should avoid this no frills at all costs and instead use their flyer to price match someplace else.

This place is horrible when it comes to things being fresh i just went there today sept 05 to buy wonder big hamburger buns and a head of lettuce as soon as i peeled the first layer of lettuce the whole thing fell apart since it wasnt fresh. And the buns were crusty and moldy amd the date still said sept 08 this is rediculous if you have to resort to selling old crusty buns and dry old lettuce just to sell your overstock ill take my business somewhere else BEWARE PEOPLE!

This place is like a maze. Staff have no idea where anything is, no wonder the customers cannot find it. Produce is ok, but turns quickly. Dairy is great. Please train your staff better. This is not an easy in & out store to just get 1 thing. Plan on being there at least 20mins.

This store plays at cashtill. Be careful about the prices of items you choose and the prices they charge on your bill at cashtill. BE CAREFUL about non barcode items, specially. Once a customer has so many items in the cart, they charge different/higher prices on a couple of items and customer doesn't know that they are being overcharged for particular items. I noticed this so many times. The only question is when they display prices on shelves by LB then why are they showing in Kgs on bill ? Another way to cheat customers..

This is the closest grocery store to my home so it is the grocery store I use most often. I wish that they would do all of the stocking shelves at a time when the store wasn't open though. The aisles are SOOO hard to get through some days (especially with a stroller) so I could only imagine if I had to push a grocery cart. Sometimes I have to walk all the way around an aisle so I can get to the middle of it because there's no room to get by. There are always people pulling the large trolleys around stocking shelves. And on one occasion I had someone approach me and ask me if I wanted a free bag of president's choice cookies, all I had to do to get a coupon for a free bag was show them my I.D and give them my email address. (That Was ALLLLL I was Told!) So I pulled out my I.D and just to show the lady and she scanned it quickly with the device she had! I was so angry and told her I never gave her my permission to this! Then she continues to tell me that shes checking to see if I qualify for A Presidents choice credit card. At this point I was absolutely livid. Not ONCE did she mention scanning my I.d, or a credit card. I did call the store that day to tell the manager what had happened.. But overall most of the staff is friendly, there are a few ladys at the tills that I've heard complaining to one another about their fellow employees, on 2 seperate occasions. Specifically about taking "another" sick day and another time about someone taking too long on her break lol But they're always friendly to me and my little one. Selection is okay. Sometimes they dont have everything I need, or they change their products up, so it takes a little time to adjust. But I wouldve given 4 stars if it wasn't so hard to get through the store's aisles some days. I wouldve given 5 stars if the aisles were fixed and that lady hadn't tried signing me.up for a credit card and scanning my I.D (to send it to wherever!) without permission.

It was not a bad too experience, many things on sale, the store is bit congested and the cashier we went through was not very nice. She served me ok but the whole time she was fighting with the customer behind me because she was express lane(1-8 items) and the lady had couple more than 8 items. At the end she didn't put he through and she walked out without buying her groceries.

I go there because I really am happy with the meat department it's great prices and love the area for creating a already seasoned meat to cook up quickly at home. I find it's awesome that they have a wide selection of produce. However I do find that some items such as strawberries should not have been on the shelf for sale.

I had a bad experience shopping in this location. This lady who is the "MANAGER OF CASHIERS" is rude to customer. I think she need to under go for more customer service trainings. You're not suppose to yell a customer, if you have any issues or concern you need to approach the person in a nice way and not to yell on people.
