Definitely a small town feel in this grocery store. I'm on a first name basis with many of the employees. It's quite a small Metro which is always a nice option when you only need few items.

Always seem to stop on whenever I pass by. Staff is friendly and helpful. At one time this was probably considered a large store but compared to the newer large super markets this place is fairly small. Still though it's a solid store catering to an area with low options.... I like the fresh baked goods.

On several occasions I have bought fruit and vegetables that have expired far too quickly from this store. Twice I have purchased milk that was spoiled, despite it being well in advance of it's expiry date. Today I bought some eggs and while preparing a meal I cracked them and they were FROZEN.

Wait line of about 16 min. to enter store. Friday's and Saturday's snow and Monday being a holiday meant a lot of people wanted/needed groceries. Store was organized in getting people into and checked out of store.

Not what I remembered as a kid, but they had what I needed. Cluttered and tight versus more modern stores. Deli counter is a no go, lines are always very long. Mostly the fault of indecisive people having to ask 10 questions before they buy what they were going to buy anyways. Adding a staff member at key times would really help with this. I wan't visiting at high demand times. Personally, I would have kept the one in University Plaza open over this one.

It used to be a pretty good place to shop. But over the last few months things continue to decline. Poor quality especially fruits and vegetables. And most of the young staff treat people like an annoyance instead of a customer. Took my business elsewhere unfortunately.

Poor customer service. Rude clerk at the service desk and some staff are very demeaning to seniors. Communication Skills are poor. Manager seems incompetent. No one listens and no problem solving ability. Expiry dates altered on products. Produce in plastic bags is already rotting when you bring it home although the expiry date is five days away. Metro scams the consumer. Groceries overpriced.

They're generally good for a quick shop. The store is clean, has good hours, and is surprisingly well stocked for its smaller size. Only gripe is that sometimes they can be more expensive on certain items, and seem only willing to compete against paper flyers versus listed online sales.

Save your time and money. Go to fortinos. I had a cashier and a rude customer behind me in line point and laugh at my 4 year old son who is legally blind after I suggested she say excuse me instead of pushing a child out of the way. I was outside the store when this happened and noticed through the window. Ended up going back in and returning groceries. Manager (Rick) didn't really seem to care.

I walk with walker and walked around looking for Manwich , a very nice man who was stalking yogurt or cheese I can't remember but I asked for and he left what he as doing and helped me. I thanked him very much. Then I go to check out and the cashier helped me get reusable bags and and put my groceries on my walker. My visit was quite nice. Excellent staff!

This is a nice, clean store in a great little town. I used to live on the Hamilton Mountain and would go to the Metro up there. We stopped going there because of expired food always on the shelves. We decided to give Metro Dundas a shot and they did not disappoint. Gino the Manager helped us find the items we were looking for, as well as being helpful with suggestions on some specials. Great experience. Great service.

Always a decent grocery store. Produce is hit or miss. Bought raspberries and other fruit there only realize there was fuzz on them when I got home. This has happened a few times. Just recently changed the layout of their parking lot. Not too sure how I feel about it yet, but this morning the seniors seemed very confused.

I was perusing the prepared items and she asked if l was looking for something in particular. The wraps were all gone, so she offered to make me a couple, modified to my dietary specifications while l shopped. I was very impressed with Colleen's service with a smile!

Great location! I would say the best in Hamilton area. The produce is usually the freshest compared to the other centre mall location or Rosedale . Usually not very busy..the best times to go are weeknights around 8pm . The store has good hours , it's usually open until 10 or 11pm I believe

The prices seem to be higher than competitors. There always is a line up to check out. The aisles are narrow and extra display bins make quick shopping difficult. After more than a year, I decided to try the store again since I only needed one item. I found the cashier quite rude and condescending. I don't know where the attitude came from since the sum of the conversation to that point consisted of me saying hello and asking to pay with tap. I won't be back.

Was just at Metro about 1hr ago... Sunday June 27 A young couple in front of me refused to wear masks and were let in. I was surprised that they let them go in, and asked the kid at the door why. He said they cannot stop them. WRONG - and store management better step up here. There is Hamilton By-law 20-155 I want to see these people getting charged, or the retailers getting charged for not enforcing masks. If you are not well enough to wear a mask you should not be in a store... period.

I used this location frequently..at least 1-3 x's week..with the other location (University Plaza)closing March 2nd, the massive influx of customers has created havoc with parking, check out, product availability. You need another location in town of Dundas asap or risk losing customers to other competitors.

Our preferred location for years as it has the "small town" vibe. Parking is medium capacity which keeps it from getting too busy. Staff are friendly and helpful. They have a deli and meat counter. The checkout can be a little slow sometimes, especially on Saturday's but there is self checkout available.

All things considered, this community-oriented, chain grocery store is clean, orderly, well-organized and well-stocked. The full and part-time staff are pleasant, helpful, caring and professional. The customers are usually considerate and polite too.

Used to think this place was decent, then bought one of their blind roma pizza slabs (one you cannot check due to the box size/placement of a sticker) only to discover a suspicious amount of mold on it. Never buying from them again, as one near-death experience is enough.

this store has tried to do the best they can during the past few months in protecting their customers from covid 19. unfortunately there are some new hires that do not wipe down the pay terminals after each person puts in their security code. the terminals tap options don't seem to be working and you now have to insert your card. I go to this store on a regular basis. so if you have to insert your card make sure they wipe the terminal down before use!

I couldn't bring my own reusable bag in the store with me, but yet had to grab a cart from outside that wasn't sanitized. I sanitized it myself and went into the store. This is where I was stopped by a young man, standing there with a face shield on, a spray bottle in one hand and a cloth in the other (wiping down nothing, btw) who told me I can't bring my bag in with me, but could leave it with him while I was in the store. I gave this location a 3-star because it was pretty clean, and the gentleman that works in the frozen meat section was extremely helpful, even offering advice on different items. When I went to leave the store the same young man that just saw me 10 minutes ago asked me what bag I was talking about when I asked him to hand it back to me ????‍♀️ Very few employees in the store wore masks, and I understand that it is at the discretion of the manager whether they do or not, but I think the majority of patrons feel safer and more comfortable when the employees of the store wear masks as well. And if you're going to tell me what I can and cannot bring into your store, then I'd like to think that we would have a choice as to whether or not your employees wear masks when they're serving us. We wear them to keep them safe, it's only right that they should do the same for us.

The Fresh2Go trays of Cheese Sensations, sandwiches and wraps that I ordered were very tasty, very fresh and EXACTLY as pictured in their "Occasions Made Easy" brochure. They were ready on time, and the staff used a trolley to get the entire order to my car. Loraine from the Deli was very helpful in guiding me on the quantities I needed. I would definitely order from there again!

Metro supermarket is a clean, well stocked grocery store. It has a good variety of fresh vegetables, meats and baked goods. It also sells a variety of prepared meals for those in a hurry. Not always the cheapest but does have some worthwhile specials every day. Lots of free parking and is wheelchair accessible.

I walk in to buy groceries just like any other day, but when I get to the cashier, it was like I was deemed a criminal, the cashier lady started to shout at me rudely, I politely asked for a bag but the cashier shouted again to me to ''get your own'' bags. At this time, I felt the need to say please direct your disrespectful attitude to someone else. The manager comes by and told me not to come back to the dundas valley Metro location again. I am speechless.

Used to love our local Metro but lately not so much. Staff are wonderful but produce is terrible poor selection of products and very high prices. I only go in to pick up a couple items out of convenience as they are the only large grocery store in town.

Don’t have issues with products and the majority of the staff are extremely kind and accommodating but I have a major issue with accessibility. When you access from the southeast driveway (where the loading docks are) I was told repeatedly over the years that they would look at making the sidewalk accessible (ramped) as soon as possible so that you can get your wheelchair off the roadway asap. Right now you can not access the sidewalk until you are at the smoking area,. It would have cost very little to make it safer. Then also outside, they put that nice access for people walking with strollers, carts etc. from the parking lot up to Ogilvie Street. They say not suitable for wheelchairs which means they would rather me sit in traffic in the driveway with all the vehicles. Very scary and unsafe, vehicles cannot see you over their hoods. Then to add insult to injury, they take away the Express designation from the first cash register so that more people have to use the self checkout. However, this is the only cashier line that is wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair (number 8 is wide as well but has never been open when I’m there) so now I have to sit there and wait with 3 or 4 items while the person ahead of me does a $200.00 order. NOT ACCEPTABLE. **Update- the last two times i was in the store thé accessible checkout was temporarily designated as Express. I don’t know it was Express because of volume of shoppers or not.

Today was my very first time shopping here, it had a really nice and friendly atmosphere. What really impressed me is one of the employees that works there, a male around his early 40s. He saw that I was a young shopper that seemed uncertain of what kind of cereal to buy; he approached me and advised me that sugary cereals aren't the best choice in terms of a healthy breakfast diet. He then pointed me to a healthier alternative that's filling and nutritious to start the day( Quaker oats) he was very friendly and explained to me a very easy and quick way to prepare it and how raisins go excellent with it along with a little bit of brown sugar

Staff was absolutely rude to my mother who didn't deserve to be treated in that manrr. It was the cashier . Next time we will go up the hill which we were going to go in the first place but decided to try this metro. Also we spent 93$ which we will be spending next time at the other location in Dundas. I personally will also not be returning to that location. I don't need to be affected negatively by some cashiers bloody bad day! Please my mother does not need your attitude.
