I've been to this location many times and have had no issues to date. It's smaller than some of the other locations but it's adequate. Good and friendly service with a decent selection of products to choose from. The store is clean, organized and well kept. Update: After a year of shopping at this location and spending hundreds of dollars, my recent visit was a bit uncomfortable and this is the reason I've removed 1 star. I was followed and monitored in each isle that I was in by a store clerk nearby and also at the check-out by this same person. I felt like I was a suspect in a potential theft. Unfortunately, this is not a good lasting impression on a loyal and paying customer like me. This may likely be standard procedures in the retailing industry as a whole to minimize their loss of profits. So, shop anywhere at your own risk as usual!

Nice new store. Unfortunately not the selection of some other No Frills. Latest encounter. Produce marked lower than the register. Cashier had to call supervisor and then the supervisor had to go and fine produce manager to find out what to do. Returned and provided the difference in price as a refund. I asked about policy for miss-pricing and the response was you are getting the lower price. I let the young lady know that all other groceries credit 1 item before lowering on balance. Then the offer came to give 1 for free. I rejected because one should not have to ask. There are other No-Frills in the area to shop at. Just very bad training and customer service training as well. This should have been handled by the cashier from the start, the owners appear to have little trust in front line staff.

THE best No Frills anywhere! Why? Because owners Paul and Adele are genuinely caring, outgoing people who are onsite to help customers, to answer questions and to keep the store clean, well stocked and focussed on customer service (something you might expect from a higher end grocer). Staff are positive and helpful which also shows they are treated well (which is important, especially when they are dealing with our food supply). I am particularly impressed that this store does not look like other No Frills locations full of boxes and debris in overcrowded isles - This one is easy to shop in and kept very organized and nice. Small store with a great heart! Unlike other local price-reduced stores, this one always keeps a food donation bin year round so that they and customers can regularly contribute something to help the local food bank. I make it my practice to donate something every visit because the prices of sale items make it affordable to share (remember to help feed hungry kids in your community too).

Let's start off with the good. For a small grocery store, this place has most of what you would usually need. It has lot more selections than you think. The bad, too small of a grocery store and because of that there are only 4 cash registers. Like another reviewer have mentioned, loonie for a cart?! Not everyone has a loonie on them. A related issue with shopping cart is their store exit, it can be a challenge to get out if you have a big cart full of items, just a terrible store design. The store has plenty of items but they never have enough selection for salads, always out of stock for 70-80% of the salad shelf. Sometimes same can be said about their fresh meat. Lastly, parking is too cramped but that's not No Frill's fault.

I would recommend this No Frills to any living in the area or just passing by whether it's just for a few items or doing a full shop. This is one of the smaller locations but, don't let that fool you. The owners of this location have vastly improved every aspect of this store in the last year. From the variety of stock all the way to keeping the shelves well stocked. The care given to the produce section has vastly improved and is comparable to the care given at some other grocery stores such as Nations. The lines always move fast during peak hours even amidst the pandemic. The staff are friendly and courteous. OLD REVIEW: Not a large store, Terribly laid out, and shelves are stocked bare min 9 times out of 10. Staff are friendly enough but personally i would recommend going to another No Frills for better selection and stock levels.

The produce section has fresh merchandise; the meat department has attractive product; the prices are generally good with a couple of surprisingly expensive items, but otherwise much as you would expect. The Main Failing, in my humble opinion, is due to the smaller size of the store so that they cannot offer culturally diverse foods such as would suit the Indian community. Hamilton has a fairly hefty Indian population and I happen to enjoy the occasional Matar Paneer or similar items. Obviously you can't please everybody especially with a smaller store. You can get what you need, but not necessarily what you want.

I am new to Hamilton and am a committed No Frills Shopper. I have tried every store in Hamilton and this one deserves the highest rating. They are handling the Covid-19 pandemic exceptionally well and have put measures in place to keep everyone safe. Plus, the sales are great and there is plenty of stock and variety on the shelves. I would definitely recommend this place.

This used to be my favorite spot to get groceries UNTIL the new owners took over and covid hit. If you want to feel safe, go the the newer Rymal store. A lot more protocols in place, people at the door controlling the amount of people, sanitizer and paper to whip your cart, arrows on all areas to direct traffic and controlled check out. Rymal store doesn’t let customers come to the check out until the other person has packed their groceries and left. This location doesn’t care. They pack you in and have no regulation. My groceries were basically stacked on top of the other customers at the check out. This store puts customer safety and their staffs safety at risk.

I had a really bad experience recently with some of the employees at this store. Their service was horrible when we went there to enquire about a dairy product we purchased accidentally which was expired way before we bought it. Apart from the fact that they sold an expired product, they were blaming us not for checking the dates. An employee named Simon lashed out at me immediately as I asked him whether I should be standing in the purchase queue for this enquiry. The owner was least helpful with our concerns too. Small store, all registers were open. Store is very cramped and uncomfortable to move within. Cashiers were unattractive in terms of customer relations and self appearance. The cashier serving me had foul body odour and lacked the ability to do her job without asking for assistance. Ultimately after leaving we seen we were over charged for a couple items and we did not return to the store in fear of experiencing an already horrible ordeal.

This was just my second trip here though I live in the area. Parking is always difficult and handicapped parking is ridiculous in placement. The store itself is bright and large BUT for a store this size there are only four checkouts and one of those is express ! The aisles are very narrow and while two buggies can pass, they can't if there's someone looking on the shelf for something. The checkout lines are naturally long because of so few checkouts, which means if you are shopping, it is impossible to get around to the next aisle because of people lined up. I only made a second trip here for one particular item as my experience was the same on my first visit. I doubt I'll have a third visit anytime soon, unfortunately.

We are in the middle of a pandemic. Every store on the planet is.monitoring the amount of people in the store at a time to maintain social distancing except this one. The buggies are still locked up with only a locked empty bottle of lysol wipes available. They may have their aisles blocked off, but no way are they caring about customer safety. I've only been in a few No Frills stores in the past but of the ones I have been in this is by far the nicest. It was clean and laid out really nice and the fresh vegetable section was the most impressive I've ever seen when it comes to a No Frills. Usually the the fruits and vegetables can be a little bit old at No Frills but not at this location and the prices as always are hard to beat. I will be using this store now more than I use Fortinos.

Dropped in at Kenny & Cindy’s No Frills at Upper Paradise location and was very disappointed and actually left. With the situation that we are all going through they had no one cleaning their carts which also noticed people had to pay still add money to get them. They had no one at the door to count how many people going in the store so everyone was going in. Also noticed as I walked in every one was everywhere no directions on which way people should go that when I left as I didn’t think this was safe and they were not followed any guidelines. ???? I will stick to my Food Basics and will not attempt that store again

Decent little grocery store. I spent over an hour shopping, only to be told at checkout that the debit machines had been down most of the afternoon and that they have no alternatives. This forced me, and the 3 people in line behind me to abandon all our groceries and leave. I wish i had been told earlier, as by the time i got to the checkout, it was past 8 and most other stores had closed. Something as simple as a sign on the door saying "No Debit sorry" would have saved me time and would have still allowed me to get my groceries. Il be shopping somewhere that values their customers instead.

I had bad experience today. Nobody was regarding 6 ft distance at checkout. I wanted to pay cash but agreed to go to self-check out just to speed up the process. The staff and managers do not care we are in a pandemic. They allow customers to open all fresh fruit packages ie strawberries and touch everyone to choose which one she wanted. I told a manager and he did nothing and his attitude was we can't stop them from doing it so it's ok. We are in the middle of a PANDEMIC. I left my purchase at the register and will never go back. With that kind of customer service they do not deserve my money.

I just want to bring up the inappropriate behavior that I have experienced from this grocery store today. I AM MORTIFIED that I was racially profiled by your staff accusing me of being in the store prior to, purchasing an item that had a limit. I was aggressively told off by the manager that I cannot purchase the item. When asked what the reason was, they said that I was here before, purchasing the same item. I have never been in this store before. I am just baffled that I was accused, with no proof that I was here prior because they think that they saw someone who looks similar to me. I understand that there's a hoarding problem going on right now. But I think its unfair to be called out (most especially in front of other customers) just because of how I look. Threatening me that they'll be looking at the camera from now on every time I come to the store doesn't help with their case as I will never come back in this store and I would love not to spend my money on a store that doesn't have values. I love supporting local businesses, but I just lost respect to this store. I am calling out the management to please address this problem immediately.

This is the worst grocery store I have ever been in across Canada I was basically assaulted by the floor walker as I had my pug dog under my arm instead of asking me to leave politely with my dog he grabbed me roughly and began screaming at me to leave if I was not So embarrased I fight may have incited as I truly felt I need to defend myself and my fur baby it continued outside over a cig smoke as he berated where I could smoke but I had not even lit a cig as he was getting one out of his pack it was a crazy ten to fifteen minutes I also think it was becoming very rasict on his part I have not gone back to store and will never go and shop there again plus the meat and produce are no where near great quality

I visited Paul and Adele's No Frills today...was expecting it to be a little crazy based on the current situation. Some shelves were low, but overall they still had a lot of product. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Everyone was calm, and this caused a positive affect on the customer's. It was nice to see everyone so supportive.

I had a horrible experience at this store on Thursday March 1st. I happen to be in the area and needed to pick up a couple things so I stopped in there. I will never make that mistake again. There was a woman in front of me who is obviously from another country, and the cashier opened up her bagged produce pulled each individual piece out and placed it on the counter in front of her cash register, argued with this poor customer about what kind of produce it was, and then moved the produce from in front of her till onto the belt and then returned it to the bags. I was disgusted, the poor customer in front of me was disgusted, and she said that she could no longer take the produce because her husband was sick and this woman had just got germs all over her fresh food and she could not take it home like that, and I agreed out loud. The cashier was very rude to this woman and said "I'm so sorry for doing my job" the customer rightly said "no, you are not doing your job, that's not sanitary" the cashier attempted to argue with her at which point I stood up for the customer and said she was 100% correct I had never seen such behavior and that I would be upset myself if it were mine and the Health Board would not be pleased to see her doing that. The cashier then looked at the woman and said " fine then I'm not sorry!" How rude!!! The customer was very polite through this entire interaction, and the cashier was visibly confrontational and it seemed to me like she had a problem with this woman's race. I was absolutely disgusted by the entire situation and left my food on the belt, told the customer that I was very sorry that she was being treated this way, and walked out. I will never go back to this place ever again that was disgusting behavior and no one should have been treated the way this woman was treated. No one in any grocery store is trained to open people's bagged produce, take all the pieces out, and place them on dirty surfaces. It was disgusting and uncalled for.

Awful grocery store. Not a fan of No Frills in general but this was more disappointing than expected. Produce selection was nonexistent, generally poor quality, store was tiny and confusing, lots of the items on my list were not present in the store. One staff member was helpful. Cashier did not help bag, ask for points card or offer any sort of customer service. I work at Fortino's so I suppose I am a bit biased but I hold other grocery stores to the standards that are expected of me.

Quiet. Not too busy. All items in shock. Staff where no where to be found. Cashiers were quick and friendly.

The old lady with the red hair needs to be fired, I pointed her out on a mistake she made and she was mad at me. Ever since that day she treated me like trash and would yell at me and harass me for no reason, when she would be scanning my items. I AM WARNING YOU DO NOT GO TO THAT CASHIER. I have never been treated so badly by a cashier before. Absolutely disgusting. She should not be working there since she is so rude and she does not even know basic information a cashier should know.

The cashier at 1-12 Express Lane left it up to me to enforce up to 12 items rule when the person in front of me had close to 30 items to scan. Then she was apologetic to him when we asked to go in front because we only had 4 items. This happened at 6:52PM if management cares. What's the purpose of the Express Lane if she allows people with close to 30 to use it?

My unpleasant experience is with cashier Ms Leah. She was rough when giving me my cash back and I did not like it. She didn't smile and it look like she was in a rush to finish her shift. I kept quiet with her this time but next time she will hear from me

I always frequent the same three groceries stores so when I found myself out of time and with no choice but to use no frills I was very pleasantly surprised. The store was compact but was very organized and had everything that I would normally get at the other stores I go to and for better prices . With that in mind I now have a fourth store added to my list. As always I rate the staff and they were friendly and helped me find a few items I couldn't seem to pin down not ever being there before . Great find thanks guys
