Great bakes goods, meats, chesses and seafood and flowers/plants. The fruit and vegetables are ok quality. I wish they were open later then 4 pm. Great place to shop if your some who lives with mental illness or autism, its quite, has natural lighting and isn't over Crowded.

I recommend ercilia's Fine Foods. They make all their own Foods and very interesting ways and it's a very family-friendly shop. They sell Portuguese pottery there. It's a mom and pop shop type of place. They sell very organic very delicious jams homemade. They sell pickled garlic and all sorts of very healthy foods and are a wealth of information about how to live a healthy lifestyle. The rest of the market is good also. If you cannot find broccoli cheap in one area you can always find it better priced at another location in the market. I love the farmers market and I think everyone should buy locally from our local vendors if and when possible.

One of my favourite places downtown, the market has a bunch of really friendly vendors that I've been buying from weekly for years. Stand outs for me are Jantzi Cheese, Lina's Coffee and Bakery, Local Eggs, and Nam Nom Banh Mi, but I've bought from many others and am rarely disappointed. Also, in COVID times, it's been a great way to go out, support local businesses, but still feel safe, as everyone seems to be taking things seriously.

Overall an OK place but not amazing. It has the usual suspects found at markets such as specialty cheese and meat stands, produce vendors and places that sell treats. But the setup is rather dull, not many truly interesting vendors. Yes, I appreciate the organic, gourmet or ethnic foods but the meat vendors are all pretty much the same, the produce vendors are the same and their selections weren’t that great. What was missing is what I like about farmers markets the most: unique and interesting or even surprising bits. At other markets I’ve been to I found a random guy selling only sourkraut and kimchi or someone playing a guitar and singing, vendors giving away samples to interest kids and adults, vendors with smoked meats, and vendors who only carry a few items that they specialize in. This place seems over regulated and lacks the atmosphere that makes farmers markets so appealing to me.

I thoroughly enjoy some of the stalls at the Hamilton Farmers Market. The pasta guy on the lower level is a champ and the pasta is made right there. All the food vendors run a tight operation but it doesn't change the quality you get there. By far my favourite is the deli on the top floor (can't remember the name) but they have the best sliced bacon and deli meats. There is also a butcher on the left by the mall entrance (also can't remember the name), he has several farms and all the meats are either grass fed or grain with no funky extras.

Possibly the best all around farmers market I've been to. Open all year round, with specialty stores ranging from fish, to baked goods to cheese, flowers, etc. Supper friendly people and always familiar faces that you'll get to know over time. Free 1 hour parking across the street too if you validate in the market.

A great place to shop local and support small businesses. I liked how Ontario produce and food was highlighted by some vendors - exactly what I was looking for. Seemed that not all stalls were open - presumably as a result of the pandemic. Pro tip: Pick up a FREE copy of the Hamilton Spectator by the entrance.

Went to the farmers market and I was not disappointed. What a variety here. From regular produce to artisan cafés, a must for an explorer. The only thing to know beforehand is that most places only take cash so take some with you or there are ATMs available. Also, ensure you park at the York Blvd parade where you get the first hour free when validated by the merchants. Happy shopping!!

This is one of my favourite places in Hamilton and a huge staple of my childhood. There are so many specialty places here, fresh produce and meat. If you are having a hard time trying to look for some kind of delicacy/specialty dish, try coming here. They have families who have run their booths for generations specializing in certain foods.

You can tell everyone that works there has been there for quite some long time and I like that it’s connected to the Mall so there are places to visit right afterwards. The Farmer's Market is always my favorite place to show to friends from out of town. Great people and even better food! Nice place to start the day as you get a coffee, buy some groceries and grab a bite to eat from one of the many food stalls -- all while supporting your local area. The majority of the vendors are no longer local farmers but plenty of variety to choose from at reasonable prices.

Josie's flowers downstairs will not disappoint you for basic floral needs. I rely on her! I rely on De La Terre Bakery for my organic bread, on the upper level, sadly they sell out quick and employ emotionally vacant stall tenders. I wish the market was more honest and had better fruits and vegetable vendors who are truly farmers. I ask myself, why is there a shortage of organic offerings? We want better from this market!

I've been going to the farmers market since I was a kid and it still has the same vibe, only now there are awesome little food stands! Most of the stands are cash only, but there is an ATM that doesn't charge much so there's no worries ????

The renovations are finished so they are covid compliant yaaay right when you enter the market from york st there is De La Terre bakery on your left and you have not tried sour dough bread until you have tried one of their baked fresh daily loaves of bread. I highly recommend the honey butter sourdough it just melts in your mouth it's so good i recommend getting two loaves because they will not last long they are just that good. Another solid choice is is their potato and olive oil but they have a nice selection to choose from. One more great stall is on the bottom floor down the ramp straight than on your right you can't miss the big red sign Sam's meat and cheese a huge selection of great artisanal cheeses and cold cuts , they have a huge selection of everything meat and cheese related .I highly recommend their muffuletta sandwich's honestly one of the best sandwiches you will ever try there is seriously nothing that could be done to make this sandwich any more amazing. Before i forget i got lost in thinking about all their excellent products i'am getting hungry just thinking about it. The staff is truly amazing you're never rushed they always have great recommendations and friendly conversation. Overall the market is a great place your just in awe of all the great food surrounding you and mostly all grown locally . The taste and appearance of all the local produce is so incredible you'll ask yourself why you weren't always coming to the market but words can only convey so much i highly recommend trying it for yourself all in all it's just a fun outing for the whole family(added bonus you get one free hour parking at the parking tower across from the entrance just remember to get one of your receipts validated or stamped) You'll always have a fun time shopping at the market it'll be hard to go back to the usual grocery stores when you have to most of all explore, have fun, talk to the vendors and get to know where your food comes from and by whom, everyone is very positive and laid back so have FUN try new things Cheers John kopatch

Lots of variety, but in the same things - cheeses, meats, and vegetables. Prices are OK, but not cheaper than the store. The plus is that it is farm fresh. Worth a trip if you have nothing else to do, but not a true destination to write home about.

This is truly the gem of downtown. You can buy the freshest local produce, eggs, spices, fresh pasta, bread and more. Theres so many hidden boutiques with lovely gifts. Hot food ready to grab and go or have a seat and dine. I really love the how they incorporated the lost history of Hamilton with blown up pictures on the walls, and the old Birk's clock hanging in the middle. Fabulous touch, this market is home for many.

I did not have a good experience here. I used to come years ago and it was much better. The biggest issue is that a lot of the "local" produce is not local. Many vendors are bringing their produce in from the food terminal in Toronto. When I asked some vendors where their farm was or where they got their produce, many got defensive. Some said the "farm" was just the name of their business. There is a good meat and cheese counter that I recommend. There. Is also a good flower stall. My only major complaint is the misleading vendors. This should not be allowed in a local farmers market!

It was pretty nice. There was a large number of unique vendors all over the place, it was well laid out, and the prices weren't really that expensive. That being said, if you're not familiar with what is there, it can be difficult to find a specific shop or product, and there are a lot of shops that sell very similar or identical products, at least this time of year. Overall it was a good visit, for me.

This farmer's market is huge, located in downtown Hamilton. There are 2 levels and is nicely decorated. There are so many vendors. The whole place is welcoming. They are only open Tue, Thu, Fri, Sun. I think this place is better than the St. Lawrence Market in Toronto. For example, the food vendors are more like restaurants and have seats for their customers. I might do separate reviews for a few vendors.

I've been going to the Hamilton Farmers Market since I was a child, I've always loved the experience and it only just gets better as the years go on. So many varieties of fresh local food vendors. I love the tacos from Latin Fine Foods and Products, and the fresh pies from British Baked Goods. You can't call yourself a Hamiltonian if you haven't visited the farmers market!

Vendors are very traditional, nothing new or trendy. Produce is from the food terminal - not a farm. Very limited new and exciting products. This market really needs a revamp as it does not provide a very fulfilling shopping experience.

I can't say enough good things about the farmer's market in Hamilton. Fresh produce, coffee, baked goods and recently some small eateries have popped up that are all very delicious. I highly recommend the samosas in the entrance-way also. And the ice cream in the back corner of the bottom floor is THE BEST you will ever have.

You can find a wide variety of eats, treats, and meats from artisan producers that line every nook and cranny of this place. You can always seem to discover something new to feed your foodie soul. It’s a bright clean space that has artisan producers of all things sprinkled everywhere. We were able to find street parking nearby and only realized after-the-fact that the nearby parking lot adjacent to the Farmers Market offers free parking for the first hour. We ended up dining at Pokeh and also tried some samosas at the Indian booth on the main level. There was so many more we wanted to try but not enough stomach. This is a great spot and will love to come back when we are in the Hammer again.

I was delighted to see there are several more artisan booths serving food than when I was young - I think it adds a really great dimension to the market.

I love this place. It has fresh pasta, ramen, cheese vendors and others. You can also park in the building across the street and get one hour free parking after you get it stamped at one of the booths. Just pay attention to its hours.

It's a wonderful place to spend some time and buy some yummy stuff! Anyone with any taste will find something good there. Might be crowded sometimes and line ups but definitely worth the wait. People with disabilities and wheelchairs might find it easier to visit the market during times other than lunch hours (11:00 am-2:00 pm). I wish they were open more days during the week.

This market surprised me - a nice little spot for good eats, fresh produce, meats, seafood, served to you with friendly smiles. Steeltown is edgy but this place is its heart. Tip: park at the 28 York Blvd garage and get your parking validated by a vendor for 1 hr free parking. Visit Ercilia's fine foods - real Portugese tarts made by Portugese folks!

It's a nice place to browse, and good to stop in for a bight to eat. I'm not certain of the origin of much of the fresh groceries, but it does seem to be farm fresh. Some of the vendors are truly unique, and the parking is free for an hour, or something like that, so you can shop without getting ripped off by the parking garage.

The fish is amazing with fantastic deals and specials, don't see ghat at a supermarket, the meat is wonderful and the benefits dollars cheeper in all cuts ,but there's only top grade meat , so let your mind soak that in. Mostly come here during the summer when I'm at my trailer and you can get local produce. During the winter time produce is imported which you expect for our climate. Lots of cheese vendors which I admittedly have not tried yet but want to, though I do love to pick up fresh jumbo eggs from the one supplier.

Really liked it. Some of the vendors though seemed like they just didn't want to be there. The lady downstairs who sells the Portuguese custard pastries, is amazing. Her tarts and coffee is to die for, tell her not to put cinnamon on your coffee though if you don't want it. The fish mongers on the other side of her are fabulous, very fresh fish and the Mexican restaurant is good!

A staple in Hamilton. The recent renovations make it more accessible and pleasing to the eye. You will find everything you need here - from meats to vegetables to baked goods and cheeses, etc. In my opinion, this is the best farmers market in all of Hamilton (followed closely by the one near Center Mall).

What can one say, farmers markets are a novelty. Overpriced but it's an experience, plus you get the chance to support some smaller shops. Selection is always great, and pre covid19 you had a lot of stalls to choose from. Still worth a walk around, just know you'll pay a premium.

An icon in a big city. Lots of local produce, the people are welcoming and appreciate the business. Nice assortment of produce, cheese, meat, fish and the list goes on. We like shopping there it is well laid out and has a country feel to it. If you are in the area I would suggest you drop in, well worth a visit.

Great location inside of Jackson Square with two floors. Lots of stores to check out with fresh produce, prepared foods and other bits and bobs to purchase. Some stores are finally doing away with cash-only and have machines, which is refreshing, but you will probably still need cash if you want to stop at every store. Everything is clean and the layout is decent for browsing but leaves something to be desired.

The food is good and did you know there's more than 6 different kinds of local eggs available? The market was smaller than expected but I can see myself visiting often if I was a local in the area because the vendors are welcoming and I can get deli groceries. It was nice and clean and you can smell delicious cooked food when you walk around. I was surprised to find a fresh fish vendor there!

Best deals on Veggies at the stall set up on the ramp. The downstairs has changed into little bistro/cafe/quick bites for the business crowd. Wasn't really true to the farmers market original vibe. It is moving towards a trendy spot for visitors. There are still some of the classic cheese and meat stalls. But things definitely have changed and not sure if it is for the best interest of the local public.

I shop here regularly not only for reasonable prices but for the interaction with the vendors. Parking is free for 1 hour in the parkade across the street. I often have lunch as well from any of the eateries there. One easy stop shopping and I feel it is an event and not a shopping chore!

You can find very fresh products and there is a special place where you can find Latin products (Latinfood) there you can eat or buy for take out. We bought quesabirrias I recommend them, there were delicious.

Sorry, I forgot the name, but they're the only one that actually has prices on their individually packaged cheeses and deli meats! ????

Great, indoor farmer's market! We bought some fresh veggies and also ate at a wonderful Mexican place. You can find some things here that aren't common in most grocery stores. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area.

The Hamilton Farmer's Market is a great place to shop. The people behind the counters are dedicated to providing people the freshest and tastiest foods from local sources. I go every week because their food is so much better than grocery stores and so much fresher. And you're supporting the local economy! You can taste and see the difference compared to supermarkets, the farmers market is just so much better! I'd never get something from a supermarket if i could get it from the Hamilton Farmer's Market :)

It's nice that we have a farmers market here in Hamilton. I feel like it could be done better though. I find many of the stalls in the market aren't really selling there own produce. I would like to see more stalls selling produce/items they have grown or made themselves. Currently there are only a handful of farmers in the market that do this. Many of them all get there produce from the same place, it's all coming from a distribution centre in Toronto. It really takes away from what a market is really all about. It should be about locals trying to sell their own items.

Always good food, produce, meats and fish but distressed to notice the crowding and lack of mask and distancing etiquette. It would be good if there were more sanitization facilities around the market. Most vendors dont have electronic payments and operate cash-only. This cannot be a good thing, considering Hamilton's increasing infection rates.

I suspect memories of historic venues are always coloured with pink glasses. The historic venues which was lost in the 1970s was not as polished and was probably cold and wet. Farming has changed in the meantime as had the market in the over 150 years. The vendors change over time but if your willing to be a regular of any sort you'll improve what your getting. Everyone gets as good as they wish to get but over time you learn who has the better products and prices you're willing to spend for. Often better than supermarkets but not always. Better quality than supermarkets, this will vary which vendor your dealing with. The current structure has been creating interesting experiential times for all age groups. From petting farm animals to string music performers, these have been varying and most enjoyable.

The cutest market in Hamilton! Fresh food of every kind. If you want an amazing lunch? I'd recommend the pokeh bowl (you can't go wrong)! Also try a brownie with frosting in the basement... it is definitely a guilty pleasure! Flowers and cute gifts are the perfect thing to bring home to a disheveled wife :) !

I have been coming to this market since I was a child and I have a lot of great memories of my parents taking me here . A lot of the booths have changed over the years same with the people but I still think it's the best place to buy fresh produce, meat, fish and cheeses in the city! I highly recommend it!
