Poor customer service. Didn't have a dollar change for buggy and asked the cashier to give me a dollar wt which point she asked I have to buy a plastic bag and do a cashback and after trying twice, paid for the plastic bag, she was still couldn't figure it out and refuse to give me a dollar to use their own cart to pay for groceries I wanted to buy. I think this is by far the worst system to make customers pay for a cart a dollar to buy more groceries. First time visit and now this is my last. Save yourself a trip. Go to Walmart.

The new location is great. Better parking. Good selection, not great. Store layout is poor. Getting in the door is a pain because you enter in the middle of the produce where everyone is stopped. On one occasion I left because I could not get through. Over the past year this store has gone downhill. Produce is second grade at best. Inaccurate pricing leads to higher prices at checkouts and advertised specials out of stock. After today I have no plans to return. Too many better options in the neighborhood.

This is my favorite No Frills in the City. It feels larger and less crowded than the other ones and they always have deals outside of the flyer. I also love that they have their own butcher within the store that supplies fresh meats at affordable prices.

When I brought this to the attention of the cashier, it never seemed to register but she was very happy to get back to her conversation with the next cashier. Actually, this is like no other No Frills that I have been. It is close to at par with Sobeys or Fortinos. It has a fresh meat section with butchers to cut your meat as you wish and it has a fresh seafood section with another set of attendees. Needless to say, I find its selection of fruits and vegetables very good as well. Highly recommending it to anyone in the neighborhood.

Honestly, place is a little dirty for a grocery store, especially the produce section. Also, the employees are so busy being rude that they don't pay attention and mess up the till and my transaction. It is the only no frills around though so I'll be loyal anyways, haha.

I never expected to see butcher store in Norfrills.. Butcher store is run by different company and in there own section...Norfrills meat were further ahead.. Fruit and vegetables sections...there is no distance away from other customers or direction on each Ile...customers just go right close up to you...I'm like excuse me keep your distance and wait until I'm done..

Want Fresh? Live lobster, fish and great variety of fresh meat, baked goods and produce. Also best produce for the price and great layout of a store. Very friendly staff. Really good edible bananas, that are actually ripe and yellow, not green. I would recommend this door to anyone looking for a decent grocery store that's clean, presentable and great price.

I think these photos speak for themselves. I found these lemons at the No Frills on Queenston and there were at least 4 others like it. Why in the WORLD are they selling this to customers? ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. If you can, go to walmart or a different no frills, don’t waste your time here.

Clean and different to any other No Frills I have seen. The variety of fresh and frozen fish is amazing. The staff behind the Fish counter is very helpful and answers any questions about cleaning the fish and handling. They have a great variety of products, ethnic, as well, that I don't see at other No Frills stores. If I am passing by Hamilton, I try to visit this place - great deals.

I've been only shopping here using the PC Express in-store pickup option in these uncertain times and I've always been satisfied with the service. I'm not sure why more people don't use this option, especially for those that don't like shopping ;) If I was to nit-pick, perhaps the recent change to having locked-up shopping carts; and trying to make sure the store shoppers always try to substitute products if the ones you want are out-of-stock, are the only downsides. Generally, good marks overall.

This store is always well kept. Ran in late on the Sunday before the July 1st. Hard working staff in the frozen food and snack sections. At the back of the store this night were 4 staff members throwing things at each other and one literally missed walking into my cart. They had no regard for other customers either.

Busy place but overall good prices and lots of specials. As per every other No Frills, you need to insert coin to unlock a cart. This one is a loonie. I only had quarters so went inside and grabbed a basket. The lady that was working outside around the carts, saw that I grabbed a basket and asked if I wanted a cart instead. Since I was going to buy watermelon I said yes, and she unlocked one for me. That was the best part of the visit!

Extremely disappointed and concerning. Stopped to grab a view odds and ends. In need of vegetables and was taken back to how poorly the area was presented. Asparagus dried out, carrots rotting, broccoli in disarray… clearly, not purchasing any vegetables in fear of a potential food poisoning. However, for items we did purchase (no vegetables) the staff were extremely friendly. Hence, the two stars instead of the one that should of been given.

Today Thursday 26/03/2020 went to this store, Seniors so called shopping only to find out that seniors shopping 7 while 8 Am is only on Mondays and Tuesdays. The Flyer comes out early Thursday Morning and the idea was to give seniors a break in shopping hours 7 to 8 Am to protect them against the virus so by Mondays and Tuesdays things in the flyer that they need would probably be sold out by Monday or Tuesday OR the seniors would have to line up with every one else to get what they need from the Flyer. Lets face it the idea of seniors shopping is to help keep the seniors safe who are more at risk to the virus. Would it not be better to have a seniors day on a Thursday 7 while 8 AM

Was overly crowded with shoppers. Multiple shoppers in every isle and beyond difficult to physical distance. Limiting shoppers would be very helpful. Was happy to see the plexiglass for the cashiers. Under normal circumstances, this place is very clean and well stocked.

I walked in first so my daughter could use the bathroom and the staff helped me to find it because I didn't know where it was and the gentleman was friendly. The deals and offers are always very good here but I find that sometimes the store has a difficult time having the in flyer specials in stock due to there very seldom a limit on these items. A definite plus of shopping at Franco's No Frills is the very convenient and time saving self checkout area if you have just a few items that will fit in a basket. There's usually a staff member in this area to assist if needed and provide the non bar code item codes for produce which is great. The store is fairly spacious and clean which gives me a comfortable feeling while shopping. It's been so much better shopping at Franco's since it moved from the Balmoral and Main intersection. I haven't been hassled for food or loose change since the store moved to Queenston and Nash; much better location for the store.

Prices are low but quality of the produce unfortunately is equally low. Many rotten, past ripe, etc. Fruits and vegetables. Selection of frozen foods is very limited compared to other grocery stores, and the meat and dairy sections smell slightly off. The only reasonable thing about this location is price matching - otherwise you're better off crossing the road to FreshCo and paying the same low prices but actually receiving quality produce.

This is a new store opened in summer 2016. It's clean, well laid out with wider aisles and it doesn't smell. It has a fresh meat counter which has some great selection and quality meats. A great addition. The entrance / exit doors are strange. It seems like they didn't think that out too well.

I could not get the"manager"Ryan (a young man with dirty clothes and matted hair who looked that needed a shower, imagine this person handling your food!) to unlock a cart for me because ".. every one has a loonie and you don't you can buy plastic bags at any cashier and get a loonie..", I bring my own baskets because I believe we have enough plastic out in our community. The selection is very good, especially in seafood and meat department, the prices are also decent,the only reason I give it a 3 stars instead of 4 is because of how busy the aisles and parking lot is its very difficult to get in and out for a few items. I can go to Freshco across the road for approximately the same prices and be out in half the time. To me this is a great place for a full family grocery shop

I am really tired of wasting my time and gas to get advertised specials when they don't have any in stock. Last Thursday I went to purchase their lean ground beef special, they had none left. I was assured that they would have more on Friday. When I drove there Friday after work they were all out, again. I asked for a rain check but was informed that they don't give out rainchecks. This is not the first time I've had this type of issue. There have been many times where the advertised sale items are not available for sale all week, they never got the item in the store for the sale. I'm really tired of hearing, maybe it will be in tomorrow, maybe it will be on the next truck. I'm tired of wasting my gas and time to venture to this store to buy items they don't have. Other stores have signs on the front doors stating which sale items are out of stock. Perhaps they could start communicating similarly instead of making their customers walk all around the store looking for items that are not there! This won't help me save on gas but it would give a clear indication that the owners of this store think about and value their customers.

Express lane was closed at 15 minutes to closing. 3 other lanes were open with large orders making individuals with small orders wait longer than expected. After waiting behind three large orders, 2 cashiers (maybe acting customer managers) realized that customers were waiting and the express lane was closed. They immediately began pulling customers to two lanes they had opened. Good turn around to a good experience for what could have been an awful experience.

place is huge and lots to choose from the only thing that really sucks about this no frills is that the new carts are a looney not a quarter it takes a dollar unbelievable and there is no place in the parking lot to return the buggy to you have to bring it back into the store so if you have kids or anything else and they are all in the car loaded up you have to leave them alone and walk your cart all the way back into the store if you want your dollar back they charge you more and get you to do even more wow I think it's a rip-off I will not go to that store just because of that fact

Checked out on the 16 or less aisle. No social distancing at all. 2 belts operating an 4 customers trying to bag at the same time. Cashier ask if I needed bags. I said no and I would be using my own. I asked to totake off my bags used and after a minute or so she said she doesn't know the code. I asked why not? She said in a very surly way "would you like the 6cents in cash!?" I was not pleased hence this review.

Good place to shop, the new meat and fish counters are nice, specially with fresh cuts of meat and live fish options. My only complaint is that you have to be very careful and watch out for yourself as there are people that will either try to remove or try not to wear a mask, I avoided the situation for my own health so i'm not sure if actions were taken by the store.

As the name suggests, no frills. Bring a looney for the buggy, you'll get it back when you're done but you'll need the coin. Some price's are good others are just ok. Know your prices. Selection is reasonable, but you'll probably not find the exotic stuff.

I usually do not go to this No Frills but I was in the area and thought I could do my shopping there. I was a bit disappointed as they did not have many of the regular things that I buy at my No Frills. They didn't have any vegan options at this location. A plus for this store is their size. The aisles are quite wide and two buggies can fit comfortably.

One of my favorite stores. Great pricing and they give you a key chain coin for their carts or you can use a loonie. Very clean. Great produce and pricing. The store is always clean and tidy. It is always ready to price match for your convenience. They are well stocked. The only issue I have found is if there's a good sale you may have to return a few times to get it. They have had trouble having enough stock in and I have had to go back a few days in a row to get it as they are waiting for the delivery to come with more. Other then that no issues.

I have shopped at this location since it opened. The ladies at the check out have always made it a pleasure to shop here. Until today when Debbie who was on the express line looked over and made the mistake of thinking my order was combined with the lady in front of me. She then embarrassed me by telling me I had to many items. She did realize her mistake but then I felt stupid and got out of line. I used the self check out and made sure I hadn't been over the amount. I wasn't I had exactly 16 items. I will still shop at this location but will make sure not to use the express line when the sales associate Debbie is working. Lol

While going into no frills on Queenston first thing I noticed was how distgustly dirty it was outside, garbage every where. Looks like it has never been cleaned. Second store was so under stocked of items but staff works hard to help out. Meaning they stop doing there job to check back for items and then fall behind on their work. Hire a stocking staff and please clean outside even under buggies. The one on main street was way cleaner. Respect our neighborhood .

Very dirty. How they pass inspections is beyond me because that place is absolutely filthy. Many items are already expired or very close to expiring. Rarely has more than 2 cashiers working. Clean, the food is cared for and stored properly from what I can tell. I don't get weird messed up ice cream or juice out of the freezers here! Thankfully. The meat is also cared for properly, never left out unrefrigerated for any time so I've never gotten sick. That shouldn't need to be added to a review of a GROCERY store, but I've gotten food poisoning multiple places due to poor handling. The prices are decent for produce quality as well.

Covid protocol is a little concerning - Waiting in line outside with about 20 other people who, unlike myself, are mostly unmasked and so close in proximity to each other that they're breathing down your neck, is not a good thing. There are no markers/lines to designate a two meter distance. Furthermore, once inside I noticed that there were more people waiting in line to pay than there were actual shoppers (I stopped counting at 50 people in line). Many of these people were also not properly distanced. If your aim is to get in and out of the store as efficiently as possible, good luck.

I come here often for groceries. It's the best no frills in the city. The produce is usually good and the prices are great. Staff are nice and helpful. It can get very busy on weekends, but that's like any grocery store. It's worth driving an extra 10 minutes to come here, than the one downtown. Awful service. Workers didn't want to help us and seemed annoyed when we requested to pay at another till since they didn't accept Visa as a credit card method of payment. Also, due to the high volume of people we were unable to find a shopping cart, so we resorted to using a basket. The cashier who was annoyed by our request for help when paying saw us struggling to carry all our groceries, and informed us NOT to carry the basket outside of the store very rudely. She watched to make sure we didn't leave with it, which we had no intention of doing. I'm not an overly strong person and almost dropped all that I was trying to carry in my arms. Nobody cared. Overall horrible experience. We'll never go back there.

Again no one is cleaning carts and two ladies are walking around the store without masks. I have breathing problems but I wear a mask. Someone please care and keep customers and staff safe. I wrote the bottom part 9 months ago and still they can'tget it right. .Iove the store but if you don't start enforcing the mandatory mask rule I will go elsewhere. Just came out of your store and there is a young lady standing there at the door chatting with one of your employees with no mask. Lots of elderly people going in and coming out so enforce the rules.
