Popped in for the first time on the weekend and was envious that I don't work (nearby often) or live close by. The bakery - oh my! I stopped myself from buying one of everything but did manage to grab a San Francisco sourdough and a cranberry & pumpkin seed loaf - both were so, so good. I foresee a weekend ferry ride over for a bread missions soon!

Arthur's Urban Market is great when you're in a pinch and need something! They typically have everything I am looking for, and the prices are comparable to large grocery stores in the city. The store is clean, the selector is acceptable for the size of the store, and the staff are always friendly and ready to help! A great alternative for large nation wide chains.

Stopped by Arthur's market today on my walk home. Was pleasantly surprised by all of the fresh vegetables. I bought a butter chick pizza for dinner and it did not disappoint. 100% will be coming back to try some more of their pre made meals!!

Really nice grocery store. Expensive. But has everything you need in a pinch. It's super clean, well laid out and well stocked. There are loads of specialty items which are nice and there is fresh bread daily.

Good products and selection for such a small space. Nice layout too , way better than the hideous inside of the likes of Sobeyes. However one problem is their bread. They need to learn what a baguette is. It's not just the shape of the bread, you can't make a baguette and have the texture be as weak as a kleenex.

The market was very cool looking bakery had delicious snacks. Prices were reasonable. Should definitely stop by for the bakery. The only reason I'm putting 4 starts is because I didn't buy anything else from the store.

A very good asset to downtown Halifax, unfortunately the bakery does not meet my standards. The breads are ok and expensive and the croissant I just had is basic.

It is a small market, but it has many products that are not available in big supermarkets. It feels like you are in UK. I found ungrated pecorino romano cheese, unbelievable varieties of cheeses, almost all types of mushrooms, many mochi ice-cream flavours, asian pears, huge options of kombucha, lots of sausages and etc, which are hard to find else where. They have Xylitol! Vegan, gluten-free and organic products are available in abundance. The bakery on site is great for fresh bread and pastries. Great ready to go meals. Unfortunately it closes at 7pm and their website needs to be improved. The 4 cashiers are small, not enough room makes it hard to pack. Some products are pricey than average. Overall it is a nice market with great location in city centre. Already planning for my next visit.

Love this market...if they would just turn the volume down on the music. It's hard enough to speak to each other with masks on, let alone with the music waaaay too loud. Had to yell for the baker to hear what I was asking for.
