I visited this place a year ago, and today 2021 all the furniture is as it is in poor condition, the TV screen is old, I can’t make a connection from the phone or computer to watch Netflix or movies, the internet doesn’t work, the outdoor pool is kinda good but the indoor pool is dirty and the jacuzzi water is dirty and chlorine Plenty of indoor swimming pool, old fridge, old air conditioning, many insects here, and the best thing is the coffee machine inside the bathroom lol

Figured I'd update this review with a description. Been going to Colonial Resort with my family almost every year for the past 20-odd years of my life. The best way to describe this place is 'cozy'. The staff are wonderful, courteous and helpful. The rooms are nice and snug, perfect for hanging in but just small enough that it makes you want to get out and enjoy the town. There's a ton of fun stuff to do including swimming, shuffleboard, playing tennis (with your own equipment), relaxing at the spa, hanging at the bar playing pool and darts, and exploring the town itself. Pulling into the parking lot almost feels like coming home at this point.

Had a wonderful time there. Some facilities and amenities like indoor pool and spa are closed due to covid regulations but its proximity in town and its location on a calm and quiet place makes it a must stay. Walking distance to heart of the town and waterfront. They had the outdoor pool open though. The staff was very welcoming and their hospitality was great. Rooms were clean and justified for the price you pay. Would definitely recommend it for overnight stays.

Very far from being a resort. It's a motel. Old n outdated.The exterior decor is a trompe -oeil! Not enough electric outlets in the family room. Coffee machine filthy and placed in the bathroom! Definitely not a recommended place unless budget is tight!

(Translated) The hotel is unfortunately outdated and not in good condition. The beds are uncomfortable, the room doors sag and jam. The carpets have the best behind them and are muffled. The bathroom floor is linolium from the 80s. The washbasin is outside the bathroom in the bedroom. The closets are old and there were cobwebs everywhere in the room and the corners were apparently rarely cleaned. Shower faucet absolutely outdated and broken, you could hardly set the correct temperature. Breakfast is an absolute minimum. Toast, bagels, cream cheese. 2 jams from the plastic pack, peanut butter. Cereals. Boiled cold eggs. That’s it. No scrambled eggs, omelets, waffles or pancakes. Too few sockets in the room for today's standard. Unfortunately, there was an annual family celebration on the night we were there, so it felt like 100 guests were partying in the courtyard of the hotel, 5m from our room, loud music from evening to night, then loud conversations, children screaming, drinking bouts, etc. until deep in the night. Hardly an apology from the staff after complaining. It's been like this every year for 50 years and it's good. Then the management should perhaps close the rest of the hotel for this celebration or move the celebration to another location. In any case, we hardly slept. In the end, the remaining negative comments are confirmed and the management doesn't really do anything except apologize and promise on Google. We won't be back anyway (Original) Das Hotel ist leider veraltet und in keinem guten Zustand. Die Betten sind unbequem, die Zimmertüren hängen durch und klemmen. Die Teppiche haben das beste hinter sich und muffen. Der Boden im Bad ist Linolium aus den 80s. Das Waschbecken befindet sich außerhalb des Bades im Schlafraum. Die Schränke sind alt und überall im Zimmer waren Spinnenweben und in den Ecken wurde scheinbar selten geputzt. Duscharmatur absolut veraltet und defekt, man konnte kaum die richtige Temperatur einstellen. Frühstück absolutes minimum. Toast, Bagels, Frischkäse. 2 Marmeladen aus der Plastik Packung, Peanut Butter. Cereals. Kalte Eier gekocht. Das wars. Kein Rührei, Omelette, Waffeln oder Pancakes. Zu wenige Steckdosen im Zimmer für heutigen Standard. Leider fand in der Nacht im der wir da waren eine jährliche Familien Feier statt, gefühlt 100 Gäste haben also im Innenhof des Hotels, 5m von unserem Zimmer Party gemacht, von Abends bis Nachts laute Musik, danach laute Unterhaltungen, Kinderschgeschrei, Saufgelage usw bis tief in die Nacht. Kaum eine Entschuldigung vom Personal nach Beschwerde. Das sei jedes Jahr so seit 50 Jahren und gut. Dann sollte man als Managment Vielleicht für diese Feier den Rest des Hotels schließen oder die Feier woanders hin verlegen. Wir haben jedenfalls kaum geschlafen. Am Ende bestätigen sich die restlichen Negativ Kommentare und das Managment macht außer Entschuldigen und Versprechen auf Google nichts wirklich. Wir kommen jedenfalls nicht wieder

This place has a huge BED BUG infestation, please be aware. Found them right before getting ready to go to bed (I caught one and took photos). We had to moved in the middle of the night to a different room and the room smelled super funky. The staff was very friendly and apologetic but we should of checked the previous reviews of this motel, that also mentioned bed bugs.

we booked for one night because we were looking at purchasing a property in the area. we decided to stay there bc it was convenient and the price was ok (until we saw the rooms!) old rooms with ants crawling everywhere. thin walls. rude manager. we arrived late (20:00) so the pool was closed. we swam the next day but the manager told us we had to leave because we had checked out already. WE WERE THE ONLY ONES AT THE POOL!!! I asked him to be reasonable but he just said "pool is for guests and you have checked out" we left and will never ever go back there!! don't waste your time, there are plenty of good hotels in the area. if i could i would give it 0 stars!

We had an issue with bugs on and in our bed. They were very blasé about it and offered me another room, but I was very uncomfortable and not willing to stay, so we left. Called the next day about a possible refund and was basically told, too bad.

Beds were comfortable. I think for the price a continental breakfast should have been offered. I'm sick of everything being explained "due to covid" pool closed way to early. But ok
