J.I.G.S is NOT your common big box store though it looks like one. I go out of my way, back track if I have too. Not only are the prices reasonable, there is a huge selection in every department and a good variety of specialty foods, quality veggies, fruits and meats, clothing, housewares, toys, cosmetics, books, wholesale, bulk, if they don't have it, ask! There is a Pharmacy as well! the Pharmacist is on the ball in explaining prescriptions and goes out of his way to make sure you understand what you are on. I rarely go there without seeing the owner with his sleeves rolled up... right in there with his staff. I've even noticed him pushing a customers buggy to his car! Rare to see an owner for a store of this magnitude go to that length without calling on staff.

Store owner Jim is very rude sometimes and treats staff like slaves ( my opinion ) prices are good other staff awesome. But won’t shop there anymore only coop for us

The variety of some foods, and the quality of certain meat cuts etc could be better, but the staff and management are awesome. The prices are usually always the cheapest and they have a big section of 50% off items overby the birthday cards you must check out.

Nice clean environment inside the store. The staff are friendly and helpful. Everyone appears to be following the new mask rules. The prices seem a little high but I don't have to drive an hour to a larger centre so I'm happy.

Jim's has a good selection of groceries. It is nice that there is a pharmacy inside as well. Only negatives are that there is often long lines, and tend to have expired or moldy bread and produce that you have to watch out for.

I always prefer to shop locally but in this case I simply can not. I have tried to support this grocery store since moving here 2 years ago .The quality and cleanliness are on a steady decline . Positive Point = Cashiers are excellent! Negative Points = Rotten produce majority of time . Expired products in produce, meats and shelves . Lack of cleanliness throughout the store. Absolutely horrific in dairy coolers .

Meat way more expensive then co op. Bread products always expired ( every time I GO ). Chips in a cooler ..mismanaged store that needs a lot of work .surprised the health department hasn't been there .

The cashier staff is getting better. There used to be a lot of dour (yes, that's a word) cashiers but they mostly seem quite friendly and competent now. I give 3 stars only because they need to do a better job of quality control while stocking shelves. In the past 8 months I have come across two packages of tortellini that had been razored open and shelved. (Separate occasions) and one box of crackers that had been chewed open by a rodent and partially eaten, also shelved.

Awful place to shop. Be careful choosing meat and produce. Nobody here is enforcing the mask policy. Old guy at the door is a lazy jerk, cant stand seeing him first thing when I walk in. This place is a last resort option. Friendly people at the checkout at least and good help at the pharmacy.

Pretty reasonable prices for a small town big grocery, for the most part. Variety is good, some selection, could make more sense. Of the competition this store has the better pricing, families would find better deals here. Solid four stars :)

I started to go to Independent when it first opened. What an experience, just like Save on. The store has everything except beds and bedware. But thats ok. I know I should shop in my hometown. I do shop in my own town. But for me it's also an outing! Plus Independent has some things we don't have at home. You know all stores I've been to in my life, the people are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. It gives you a nice feeling and you go home happy. Thats one of the reasons I shop at Independent, its just like home.

Not much for produce did like that most of it is Canadian, not impressed that you couldn't buy a long English Cucumber you had to buy three in a package and wouldn't break the package, store a bit disorganized.

Dirty store,A bit pricey , the produce is okay. Dairy cooler is rarely full. Most of staff is pleasant (except for one.). Store sales aren't really that great they leave expired tags on shelves. The cashier's are friendly though. A lot of outdated product. Only shop there if everything else is closed. 3/10

Some staff will not wear masks. Not even face shields. But working with our food and talking over it. The prices are high when we can drive an hour out, have a day out for the same price as doing groceries here. At least all of walmarts staff is wearing masks. Produce is really not fresh. Fries are half defrosted due to open top coolers. A lot more care and pride could be put into the overall store.
