We love our local grocery store as it is within close proximity to our home. Staff are fantastic and the owner is a great guy. The only reason the rating is three stars is that the cost of food is higher due to it being more remote and there is less variety due to its small size. Some vegan items.

Seems a little over priced for a grocery store named "Valu-mart." Small, but has the basics. Would only come here for a couple of things. Wouldn't want to do a full grocery shop here. I would rather drive into Fort Erie to a bigger grocery store with better prices.

Be careful with this store: people who don’t use their brains work here! They made us take a cart because “cart keeps everyone safe”. The “policy” is that they let only 32 carts in. Not 32 people. what is the maxim of people in store was left unknown. There were 5 of us and they didn’t want to let us in without the cart, even tho we didn’t need one. On top of everything, aggressive lady tried to block our way out of the store because we forgot our cart somewhere in the store. This is the most ridiculous thing since the beginning of pandemic. THE CART KEEPS EVERYONE SAFE.

Well lit and laid out. This small local grocery store carries pretty much all of your standard produce, meats, dry goods and deserts. On top of that, it also has a fresh deli section, fresh made breads and rolls and hot foods prepared daily such as whole chickens, wings, potato wedges and more. Be sure to double check the expiry date on some slow moving items as I have seen a few items a day or 2 out of date but otherwise very clean and decent prices for the area!

Great staff, and locally sourced ingredients. My only negative is that just about everything is marked up at a higher price than any other local grocery store. Kind of makes me think they charge higher prices because they have a lot of elderly and local retirees that wont make the extra 15 to 20 minutes to drive to a different grocery store. I hope that's not the case but management really should improve their prices and be more competitive with other local stores.

Have to give them a huge round of applause for having better prices compared to them a year or two ago when they were just outrageously overpriced for just about everything. I asked to Simply have a sandwich cut in half and she rolled her eyes snap the same which out of my hand walk back over cut it then forcefully hand it to me and walk away rudely... Customer service is not number one priority it seems...prices are hiked up in the summer months.. i find this place good if you forgot to bring something to the cottage... other wise drive a bit farther south to the other grocery stores..

I want into the store on Saturday afternoon because I had sliced my finger on a utility knife at my job. And because we have just changed shops I couldn't find the band-aids. So I ran over to the store and a very nice man seen that I was looking for something and not knowing were to go so he stopped and ask if could help. And took me right over to the products I was looking for. He also asked if he could clean it out and put a band-aid on it for. But I bought what I needed and took it back and it di myself. Highest grocery prices I have ever come across. Ridgeway Crystal Beach has a very high population of Odsp, O.W Ccpd and low income retirees. Joes Value Mart should be ashamed of themselves. Taking advantage of these people that also have children. Most of them have no other way to get to a grocery store that have excellent deals and sales everyday. No Frills and Walmart for instance. Im disgusted that this store takes advantage of that and charges astromonically because they can. Wake up Joe. Help those less fortunate instead of concentrating on your bottom line. Ok. Time to throw up now.

Store is clean :) Owner is very friendly :) Meats look fresh and great prepared meat products are worth it :) Two negatives that I hope if it changes I can improve my star rating, although I might not be around to see it happen since I would like to protect my family. One thing is not pleasant but I can deal with. I haven't met a cashier that is genuinely happy to be there. At least fake it and dish out a smile. They look miserable. This I can deal with. Good customer service is hard to find and the owner is always so nice. But the thing that will end up keeping me away is their covid protocol. Last time I was in the store there were 3 adults not wearing masks. One of the men had his 3 older children there, probably anywhere from 10-12 years old, none of them wearing a mask. I had to keep changing aisles to avoid them. If they don't wear masks in your store they are certainly not keeping safe elsewhere. I understand it is an uncomfortable conversation and it is difficult to insist on a face covering at all. But even if they were all "medically exempt" which I highly doubt, they should he required to wear a face shield at the very least as these do not impede their breathing. I work at a PUBLIC city run library and the policy is simple, no face covering no entry. That means they are certainly allowed to wear a face shield, we even provide them! We also have other options for those that can not or refuse to wear masks. We can bring their items outside for them. This policy is in place to keep staff and all other abiding members safe. It is unfair to allow those 3 people in the store that evening to make all 30 others uncomfortable and unsafe. If your policy was unwavering they would be forced to abide by it. I have had library members whom I have had to approach and they were initially unwilling. When I asked them to leave they simply pulled a MASK out of their pocket and put it on! Miraculously cured of all ailments.
