Really great store for picking up things after getting off the subway and heading home. Only issue I have had so far is the amount of times no one is at the Deli counter. Almost every time I go which is like twice a week after work no one is there. I will walk around grab some other things, come back and still no one there. Perhaps a better eye should be kept on that department.

Really good buffet and hot plate selection. For an urban fresh, it's really big and of course expensive cause it's a Sobeys. And sometimes they just don't have what your looking for. Simple things like feta cheese, and the employees direct you to them but they don't exist, there isn't even a place on the shelf where it should go. Has happened multiple times.

Similar to other Sobey's locations within a much smaller space. I would have called it Sobey's express because you can only find limited amount of produce, meat, sea food and pantry items. I do not like the smell that hits you in the face as soon as you enter this location and this smell has not been addressed by the management since opening.

The person handing customers carts and hand sanitizer was lovely. He was so kind and asked us how we were, making sure we were good to go in. It is really fancy here, which I did not expect. But they had a lot of drinks and snack you would not usually find in a standard grocery store, and I enjoyed it. Everything was very clean and organized, with all staff wearing masks and social distancing.

This is a great new place for grocery shopping in an under-served area. It is right by the subway, so I swung by here the other day to pick up several items fur the weekend. It has a great selection of everyday grocery items, if entertaining items and if quick single person food items. I will definitely be back.

A great Urban grocer with all the essentials you'll need. Not the most variety of specialty items, but that's not what you'd go here for. This is the "pick up on the way home" grocer that has everything you'd need for ordinary recipes.

This is a great quick stop grocery. They have separate breakfast, lunch and dinner hot table/buffets and the quality is decent. They have a beautiful floral selection and a full service bakery if you need something for a special occasion.

Shopping Convenience ???? the place to stop off at, at bloor & Islington Subway station, you have time do your quick shopping for dinner & get back on the train or change buses. Nothing beats being able to get something quickly and/or plan your meals & find a store. That has it all. Little surprised by lack of medications.

Today I bought pork chops because they said save $5 per pound cost $2.99 a pound. When I got them home I realized the bottom of pork chops were a little bit beige. Anyways I ate them then about 45 minutes later was feeling strained Like I ate bad meat. Didnt want too return $5.50 worth of meat because it would cost $3.25 busfare too come back. Seriously don't sell expired meat.

Brand new as of May 2019. Modern, clean, super convenient location (underground TTC access) and larger than most Sobeys Express branded stores. Not as much selection as a "full" Sobeys and no pharmacy but overall a great addition to the neighborhood!

Wow! Love this Sobeys. Way bigger than I thought it was going to be. Super convenient as it connects to Islington Station so it’s awesome for quick grocery runs before or after work. A wide selection of fresh produce and daily-made foods. I am impressed at the amount of checkout aisles and self checkout stations. And, like all other Sobeys- they accept Air Miles! I will definitely be coming back.

Store is average. lots of pre packaged meals available. i just work up in the seventh floor in Bloor islington place and urban fresh made our life easier. i work till 10 and the store is still open so i get an option to buy some quick snacks. problem is just with the salad and meal area. there is no one there. most of the time i am there around 7 and it looks like they are closed. the store employees are also rude and un friendly. when the store opened the employees were very helpful. last month when i visited the store the guy in the kitchen area was very friendly and helpful (hetesh) he use to welcome me every-time in the store and guide me about different meals and their ingredients.

Had a five star 11 months ago from me buttttt Update: the quality in this location is awful. I often find expired products, first lots of dairy and then today a meat product due date was one day over and one package being a week ago!! Always check best before dates when shopping here or just don't shop here. I also recieved a gift card totalling 150$ for Sephora which was purchased at this location and when I went to use it a few days later the balance was at zero because the card was fraudulent. No one is responsible for this but still just another horrible experience at this location. Oh yes almost forgot I had to return compliment walnuts today as well because they tasted almost rotten!

SOBEYS BAKERY I went to sobey's bakery to get a cake and a cupcake to celebrate a special occassion for the family. I carefully selected a cake and a cutely designed cupcake for my niece. it was disappointing to know when i opened the box the design was ruined. the bakery staff handed the box to me vertically assuming thats how its suppose to stand in order not to ruin the design. i carefully brought it home to make sure i dont ruin the design and it was really disappointing to see this when i opened it. I also felt deceived that she gave me a cake that was not fresh and best before tomorrow (our occasion is tomorrow)! and the staff didnt inform me prior! the reason i purchased it directly from the staff was because i wanted it fresh and not the ones on display which prices were marked down because they were near expiry. I didnt even get a discount for the old cake she gave me. Really disappointing.

UPDATE: The store manager called me and spoke to me about my experience at Sobeys. Thank you for looking into this issue and addressing it. So I was charged incorrectly for 2 grocery items that I bough here, I only realised it when I reached home and checked my receipt. After going to the store manager at Sobeys Islington, she was so rude. Firstly did not accept that they sold single leeks and regular leeks, when I told her I have a picture and showed it to her she still could not believe and rang someone telling that person I didn't know we sell single leeks, what a shame for a manager to not know what they sell, I was also charged incorrectly for guavas instead of pears. Yes, I was returned my money but there was no apology, no politeness and no courtesy for customers here, just a way of indirectly telling a customer take your money and go. I wonder how do such people even have jobs in customer service. It's a shame it happens so often in Toronto. I would still visit Sobeys but I still wanted to highlight the bad management here.

I have been buying my lunch here for a while ... but this week i found out that their commitment is to unexpired food not fresh. yesterday and today all the prepared sandwiches were a day old it seems they only make new sandwiches when the old ones have been bought by someone (who probably thought they would be fresh) . They do not make fresh sandwiches for the lunch crowd each day. I spoke with the lady that makes the sandwiches today she was not wearing a mask at all even though it is required by law now. she had a face shield that directed her breath and droplets down onto the work surfaces and sandwiches she is making for customers. I recommend you look elsewhere for fresh sandwiches and safe prepared food. I asked for the manager and the person that came out said that they were ok with day old sandwiches as long as they were not expired. and that it was OK for the people working behind the counter to only wear a face shield not a mask. even though the Shield does not stop the employees spreading the virus through their exhalation of droplets They clearly need more education on safety

On Satuday morning i went to get a breakfast meal from the deli like i usually do...and the staff were so incredibly nice and i even noticed the new breakfast meal that recently came out. I really enjoyed the new meal and hope to see it continue. The fruits and veggies that i bought stayed fresh for a long time as well.

The quality of produce is atrocious. I have bought numerous produce, ranging from: potatoes to veggies and premade salad/fruit dishes. It has a rancid taste although it looks okay. The potatoes looked perfect and after cooking, tasted of poor quality. I brought up with staff and offered a refund, although that does not fix the produce

I have shopped here only a few times, but love it. After today's extraordinary service it will be my go-to store. I called early morning to request a sandwich tray and the staff (Sherry?) was so helpful. She even prepared baked goods for me, although she was in the deli section. Very impressive service and a wonderful assortment of goods. Totally recommend.

Generally the staff is friendly but I was really surprised with my experience today. I was going to buy an item that was on sale for $8.99, when it was punched in, it showed as $10.99. I told the cashier that it was on sale and he had asked me to go back to where the item is and bring back the sales sticker. When I came back, he said that it had expired on May 20th. I was expecting him to honour that price anyway like most places do (Loblaw's and Walmart, etc.) since it was their mistake but this cashier did not. I expect better customer service from a place that has higher-end prices.

Prices are fair, the fresh food looks amazing although I haven't had much. Good selection of products. Had an issue with a promotion they were running, and although the night staff wasn't very nice about it(although still polite), the manager jumped on it as soon as he heard and made things right by the next day. Honestly, considering how tough the grocery business can be, and I have worked in it in my college days, this is a great response.

Bought live lobsters and the store steams them for you. It was done perfectly and turned out so good and delicious. This location is conveniently located by Islington station. They also have cooked food for sale. The staff provide excellent customer service, always friendly and helpful. I will surely keep going back to this store.

Lovely little sobeys. Compared to other Urban Fresh locations(namely the ones downtown); this store is relatively large. The location is fairly new and typically not too busy. It seems as though the location is often overstaffed but that might be due to training of new employees. Nonetheless, it is quite handy to find a considerable staff presence on the floor. The staff members are always eager to help and very friendly. This is a lovely addition to the neighbourhood.
