Here you will be able to see all the reviews of real people like you who purchase the products and services of Whole Foods Market (Fruit Store) around Esquimalt territory (Canada).
As of day this business receives a score of 4.1 stars over 5 and that score is based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average score it has is really positive, and it's founded on a large number of feddbacks, so we can think that the score is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to leave their feddback when they are happy with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to set feddbacks when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Fruit Store corresponds to the category of Grocery store.
Very clean looking, spacious store. All staff we interacted with on April 23 were very nice, helpful and friendly.???? Special mention to Jessica at checkout, she was very pleasant. I also spoke to another cashier who was very nice and went "above and beyond" to make things right re, a small issue (short, slim, young, wore glasses...) but unfortunately don't know her name. Hot and cold food bar has lots of choices, the Mac and Cheese is amazing! Loved the cauliflower soup! ???? Very expensive though for a "salad bar" type meal so watch the total weight!???? Prices throughout store are ok for some products but high for others For example, our favorite Cheddar, Castello Tickler is $10 at Whole Foods and less than $5 at Wal-Mart (regular price) at the same Uptown Mall. That's way too much of a price difference. I also expected more organics in produce. Better choices in that regard at Superstore. Would shop here again, but will be checking prices carefully, while shopping. Great for a veggie lunch out too but again, keeping track of prices!
Bananas were cheaper than usual 89 cnts .. had some new items... fun GTS kombucha summer edition floral flavour.... wish they carried Goldas pestos (tomatoes, vegan basil etc) from Mill Bay.
I have came here quite often since it opened over two years ago. I would have given the hot food bar a 4.5 out of 5 back then. The veggies, meat and rice are now all dried out and look unappealing. The pizza used to be amazing and one of the best in Victoria, especially the margarita flavor (which doesn't seem to exist anymore) The pizza prices went up last year. The price used to be 2 for $7, now they are 2 for $8. Amazon now owns the chain and things have went downhill. The pizza was dry with diced veggies and burnt on February 26, 2019 - 6:40pm see photos. There is no reason to come back here again. Vibes and hot food bar sure have changed, very disappointed!
Items like ORGANIC ice cream, pizza, pasta and baked goods keep me coming here periodically. I only wish the rstaurant/bar was back open and also had ORGANIC BEER! (Which they don't).
Went to get one of their coffee cakes as they're usually yummy, this time it was past done. Way over cooked.Disappointed as the bakery if generally very good. I appreciate that everything has an ingredient list on it, as I have food allergies and it helps as most stores in Victoria don't have it easily assessable. The store is clean, staff are friendly
Really nice place. Well lit, well stocked with just about everything anyone could want. The buffets, coffee bar, and lunch counters are all very enticing. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Cleanest Market in town. Wonderful staffing. I thought gee that's a strange smell, what is it? Clean unlike others it's sparkly clean
Get the Burrito Bowl! Say YES to everything! And for 9 bucks, it's a bowl of pure good love! Enjoy!!!!!
Very good selection, and quality. I like to get a burrito bowl every week! The sumo oranges while in stock are divine, everyone should try it. My only complaint is prices are too high. An identical product for example at save-on or thriftys could be at least $5 less. Some items I can only get here which I appreciate, with an extremely restricted diet it's hard to find food these days.
Overpriced for same brands available elsewhere. Small selection of everyday house hold items. Great for picking up things like specialty cheeses, but sadly definitely not a viable one stop grocery shop.
The fish tacos for $10 or 2 piece fish and chips are both great deals They are also licensed and have a tv for sports
I love the sitting system after buying cooked food. Fun for family.
We are glad to have a Whole Foods in Victoria. They do have good sales and community events. We were disappointed not to see more diverse meat-free and baby products than other grocery stores. However, the staff are so friendly. And the salad bar and pizza makes for a very easy family dinner.
Seems way too expensive for regular food, but the selection is pretty broad with lots of foods/brands you can't find elsewhere. I'd buy "exotic treats" here like the interesting cheeses, some seasonings, or unusual meats, but I wouldn't consider many things since I know I can get my Amy's soups and pasta pretty much everywhere else, and I don't know or trust many of the brands.
We had a defective food item, went back to return it, and Joel from customer service was tremendously helpful and did an exceptional job in helping us out. Will definitely return to give them more of my business. Very happy with the customer service here overall and specifically with Joel going above and beyond.
The food is indeed wholesome. A few items you can't get anywhere else. Plus a dedicated space for natural products like essential oils, Castille soap and glycerin.
Awesome healthy food. A bit pricey but worth it. I recommend the dinner deals in the deli section.
Wonderful service every visit. Do my shopping for bits and pieces twice a week and stopped by today for a GF sandwich which Alexandra made for my Mother in Law. She was really impressed with the service being so above and beyond and the flavours in the sandwich were fantastic as well. Certainly keeps me coming back again and again.
Went in for late lunch. Pizzas looked dry so went to sandwich counter and stood there.. waiting.. waiting. Young man comes out says to customer walking up behind me... can i help you and served him. Ignoring me standing there waiting. Left store wont be back.
A great selection of fresh food. The food bar serves a varied collection of cooked and raw foods. They can be a little bland, but still tastes fine. And the price isn't bad either.
The burrito bowls are delicious and good portions. Very healthy choices and they always have a variety of cold pressed juice and kombucha.
The staff is cheerful and helpful. Love the atmosphere! Calm. Well- lit. Organized!!
Great place!
On the pricey side, and always seems to be crowded, but the selection is great when you want to find good healthy foods and local fare. Also a great addition to the Uptown area for lunch options, as the sandwich station, salad bar, burrito station, bar and cafe all have great food on the go. Can't wait to enjoy a beer and snack on the patio in the summer.
Super expensive for groceries, but their prepared foods are awesome and not too expensive. You pay by weight, so there are decent deals to be had and their salad bar is awesome. Always a good selection and tastes great.
Good selection, some items you won't find anywhere else.
Nice cafe area. Can get busy but that’s how things work! Convenient place to wait for your medical appointment at the walk in clinic across the way.
The self serve deli segment has lots of healthy food. There was a lack of gluten free options. It did feel uncomfortable to be there as the Whole Foods in Victoria attracts a really narrow demographic. If you can look past the pricing that feeds into making an expensive place to live even more expensive, then it's a good place to shop. If you object to a dynamic that makes poverty translate into poor nutrition, then you too may feel uncomfortable.
Best Whole Foods Ever
Onsite restaurant was fabulous. A really nice little Whole Foods.
For a store that seems to advertise as green they use a surprising amount of single use plastics for packaging. As well as an array of overpriced products.
Whole Foods is incredible! The staff are friendly and helpful. The prices are great, especially on their own brand of products. The selection of vegan products is outstanding. The food bar has a delicious array of healthy food (although I wish they would separate the vegan food from the meat dishes). I like how they support local businesses. It makes going to Whole Foods an experience and joy every time!
Beautiful location with great hot foods, friendly staff, and nice seating for eating here. The free fruit for kids is hard to find tucked up under one of the checkout stations, though. Parking is also very convenient in a garage underneath. No Amazon Prime member specials here as found in the States, though.
It's expensive for some things but great for others. Quality is top notch. Good service but some of the younger staff isn't as friendly. Still worth driving in 30 min though!
The staff is helpful but they are hard to find! There was no one in the seafood area and we had to ask a food demo person where the pate was. Prices seem good and selection excellent in many (but not all) areas.
Great selection, very clean, lots of vegan items. You can park underground or outside. Cashiers are really nice. There is a bathroom you can use as well. Pretty large store. They carry Very Good Butchers items, vegan salmon, vegan croissants, vegan cheeses, and a bunch of other things. Pretty well stocked.
Love the cleaness and variety of deli food they provide. My favorite place for tiramisu cake.
All The fresh wholesome ingredients inspire me to cook. Sale prices good, produce reasonable price for higher quality. Its nice to shop and feel confident about the quality.
Overpriced version of thriftys. Just no service with a smile.
Good place some things pricey
Wide selection of organic produce. Better prices than spud.ca. Always clean, beautiful, and not too crowded. Worth the trip.
There is a nice Discovery Cafe in it. It seems it is a purpose built Whole Foods structure. Food section is good. I had burrito bowl for 8 dollars.
Good quality food and the selection of products is getting better. A good source for organic food. The best roasted chickens in greater Victoria.
Great lunch ideas and fresh food options. The staff are always smiling and they carry a huge variety of products! The only reason its 4 stars is it tends to be on the more expensive side.
Dear Whole Foods, I have shopped every week for 11 years at your stores in over 30 states and now in Victoria for the last 8 months. I am stopping now to buy my groceries here, why? You been always very overpriced, I am sure that is not a secret to anybody. But the last months your prices increased even more and your service and freshness went down. I really wish I can say it is the opposite.
Expensive but quality of products and food is amazing
Very clean store, kind staff and great food!
Brilliant merchandizing fresh produce remarkable selection throughout.
I would give the staff five stars because they were incredibly helpful, however the store itself is very large and perhaps because it's the only one in Victoria, there were many items that I was looking for that were sold out or just not stocked. I shopped here because I was visiting in town at a hotel without a kitchen and wanted a clean, organic option for dinner. Have to say I was quite disappointed that a lot of the things that you would expect at Whole Foods were missing or sold out. It was later in the day but it wasn't evening so I was surprised that around dinner time they were absolutely no to-go salads available and the pre-made dinners were very minimal. There was a full salad bar and a hot bar but a lot of the items were very low or sold out and weren't being replaced. In the end I opted for a half rotisserie chicken which wasn't my first choice but was at least warm. I would steer people off the salt and pepper one. It sounded like it would be a nice option because it would at least have some flavor, but it it had so much salt that I literally had to rinse it off in the sink. Imagine rinsing off a piece of chicken because it has too much salt! Other than that it is your standard Whole Foods. Large, lots of options in general and understaffed. Lastly I want to mention and ward you off the Whole Foods home brand Allegro coffee. I was excited to find a decaffeinated espresso that was Swiss water decaf (there were no other brands avaikable that that's why I chose theirs) but the flavor of this is so poor. It tastes like coffee beans that have been sitting in the bulk bin for a year. Big avoid on that product!
Very nice store. The prices are actually reasonable, specifically the kombucha. Discovery coffee in the store is a really nice touch.
People like to diss Whole Foods but if you've never been - don't knock it until you try it! This store is very clean, large and the majority of staff and warm and friendly. The pizza is so good. Huge Discovery Coffee bar.
Best place to shop. The ready to eat food here is #1 compared to grocery stores! More vegan options than most. The prices are consistent with the stores quality unsurprisingly.
Best Fish Taco's I have ever eaten
Angela in the Bakery saved the day, and it was really appreciated! She went above and beyond for a last-minute birthday cake. Thank you, Angela!
Lots of choice. Friendly staff. Will be back.
Used to be one of the best burrito bars in Victoria, BUT they have changed since COVID. You used to be able to get one in a large sized bowl, but they have shaved the bottom of the bowl off and they now put a lid on it so you get WAY less. If they lowered the price it would be fine, but they didn't. The work around is to get it in a wrap then you get it full sized still, but it's very hard to eat then.
Fabulous store - great product selection and the staff are AMAZING! Extremely helpful.
Great hot bar and cold bar for food and great grocery products !
Whole foods has the best bulk natural soap bars to choose from. Best placed to buy soap.
I purchased a pair of $94 slippers for my mother who is in a wheelchair and cannot come into the store to try them on. I was told by the clerk that "due to the current circumstances, we cannot refund or exchange". I also asked if I can hold onto them until after COVID and try at that point. He said that's also not allowed. This is a nonsensical policy, and now I am the one who loses over $100 put of pocket because a corporation isn't willing to satisfy a customer. Ironically if it was a manufacturers defect then I could return it.
The burrito bowls are great value and are pretty consistent. Also the vegan chocolate mouse will change your life. Yes the store can be expensive for common groceries, but the produce is competitive to rootcellar and reasonable for the most part.
Good selections of health food and wellness products. Can be on the priceyer side.
Love it. Believe it or not some stuff is actually cheaper here even $2 or more on a under $10 item. The salad bar is awesome especially if you want to build a salad at home and take it to the next level. Caution it can add up.
I really like the burrito bowls. They are tasty, healthy, and a really good value.
Great supermarket, nice produce but a little pricy
The take away / eat in food is excellent quality and price! Nice that you can have a beer or glass of wine with your meal too.
Nice smaller size Whole Foods that fits well with the vibe of the island. Has a nice selection of local products especially from nearby Salt Spring Island. Food bar is a regular go to for lunch.
Crazy expensive but a good place to shop for specialty items.
Love the salad bar, very nice staff and great products.
I suppose this place would appeal to you if you were rich, young and trendy. Being none of the above, I found the prices to be shockingly high. On the good side, it's bright, clean, with a huge selection of vegetarian and organic products. But it ain't cheap - the joke "whole paycheck" is pretty close to the truth.
always a great experience at wholefoods. deciding what to eat is the hard part. always recommend the burrito bowl or one of the sandwiches.
Selection is unmatched and prices are good. One of few things that make it worth entering the farce that is UpTown.
Probably won't shop here again. Stopped in for the second time while were getting a charge at the supercharger in the mall parking lot. I checked the flyer; Yves Veggie Bites were advertised in the flyer. We wanted to try them but they were sold out. Asked for a rain check but was met with a cheery "Sorry we don't do rain checks. There's nothing we can do for you". I know you are a U.S. chain, but there is an understanding, if not rule, here, that if you advertise something, you should have enough quantity on hand to meet the increased demand, and if not, offer a rain check. Most other stores in Victoria do this, and I will be unlikely to be motivated by any Whole Foods flyer, as you have no honour in this regard. Not that I imagine you will care for losing my business. The store seemed busy with millennials who don't mind spending too much and getting poor service.
Great fresh produce and groceries. Clean and tidy shopping environment.
Your typical overpriced and snobby whole foods. However, there is a specific brand of tomato sauce I cannot find anywhere else, so I come here for that and that alone. I cannot imagine paying such high prices for simple food (like juice in their juice bar). It is always VERY busy and I am shocked by the number of people who eat lunch here. The parking structure is a good size.
I'm liking Whole Foods more and more, yes some things can be a bit expensive but they do carry good products and have really tasty ready food. They also have a good selection of local craft beers (Hoyne, Cat12, Philips, Spinnakers) at their bar/eating area! I'll be back for more fish tacos and beer!
My favorite ritual is going to the food bar at the front of the main supermarket entrance on the left and order their steamed mussels entree. The staff there are very courteous and attentive. I like to make a quick shop there after going to the gym nearby.
I was excited for whole foods but they let me down. Very expensive, some of the staff are pretty rude but many are very friendly! Only thing I like is the vegan options.
Great variety of products.
I didn't think I would like it because of all the 'high prices' comments I hear, but it's a pretty great store. I'm not sure if it will have longevity as it is always pretty quiet when I've gone. If I worked close to this place and wasn't a 'bring my lunch to work' gal, I'd go here for lunch. Amazing salad bar with hot and cold items! Love that they sell great facial products and soaps. Very clean and organized vegetable area. Neat little gift area for kitchen goods. An olive bar. They even have a little cafe with food and not sure what kind of alcohol, but I saw a sign for something and I was surprised. There's a little terrace too for dining outside. Decent bulk section. Overall, worth a visit!
great fast eats from deli/buffet thing/? kids love picking whatever they want
It's a beautiful store. New, clean, has a coffee bar and food inside. Makes it a joy to walk around. They have a ton of grocery options you can't find elsewhere. The prices do reflect these benefits, unfortunately. You can find some deals but it's not worth the trip for me.
While shopping in the Essential Oils section, I asked a question to an employee, the woman was rude and uninterested. This is despite the fact that she stood right beside me during the entire time. When I asked for the location of a product, the employee used her foot to identify the product. All the while, in a deeply condescending tone, the employee asked me to repeat myself. Terrible experience. I then shared my experience with the customer service. They were polite and helpful! In terms of the products, they were excellent.
Great Supermarket. Lots of great products
The store employees are always friendly and helpful and the store always looks so nice and everything is easy to find. Love it!
So far I’m happy shopping at this store. The food is good, but sometimes they have a deficiency in protein at the salad bar.
Big Market with so much selection and, incredibly, free parkade with lots of spaces available
This market is lovely place❣️
It is no longer pleasant to shop here. It is a very uptight and pretentious experience when it used to be enjoyable to shop here. I will simply order direct from the herbal businesses and find alternative places to get what I need like farmers markets. The guy with the long Grey curly hair that works there is particularly ignorant.
Very pleasant place with a variety of lunch choices and a place to eat. Large store as well of course, with a selection of items that is sometimes a bit "original": you cannot always find the mainstream brands you see elsewhere. That means you find other brands that you can try.
Definitely expensive, but some really neat products and excellent quality. I don't shop regularly here, only eat at the deli. The deli is amazing. Highly recommend the burrito bowl. Oh, there's a bar you can get a drink at. They even have a happy hour.
As you might expect. Some reasonable prices and some outrageous. Surprising amount of local items. Deli and take out meals are a tad above average but very tasty. There is a licensed lounge area with local beer and flights. Decent price for beer
No longer a valid lunch option. Restaurant has been closed for ever and they continue to try and find ways to make their other lunch options more and more expensive. Pizza bar is never open, no more burritos, only bowls, which are now by weight, making them way too expensive. And to add to all of this the people working here all seem miserable. Has continually gone downhill since the Amazon buy out.
It's a beautiful store! I've never seen a Whole Foods in Canada, it's expensive but nice.
They have a unique collection of different foods. I loved the kombucha I bought. The lavender shortbread cookies were awesome. Only downside is that is very expensive being an organic store.
Love the salad bar..... very extensive choice and all very fresh....
Always nice to hit a Whole foods. You always know what you're getting, the quality is great but you do pay for it in price. This location in Victoria has a Discovery coffee shop in it with donuts ???? and a Fin and Pearl too. Not as crazy busy as the Vancouver locations, then again it could be caused it's new or just Victoria.
The best COVID food shopping experience even now they are suggesting I wear a mask.....
I LOVE wholefoods. Beautiful store, friendly staff and people, and great prices. Organic vegetables are actually cheaper than lots of grocery stores and the quality is the best. They have amazing sales that makes the prices better than anywhere else. So many vegan options everywhere and I love being there during the holidays as it’s so festive and beautifully decorated.
I thought there would be more variety of cool food.
Whole Foods is a great addition to the food suppliers here. So many things are priced better than the usual predatory prices we see here on the island. I have been waiting a long time for them to set up here after having shopped at their stores in other cities. I wasn't disappointed.
Really clean, but far too pricey.
Whole foods has some great lunch options. Biggest salad/food bar you will find in town. The pizza and rice bowls is a reasonable priced options. This is also my go to store for specialty diet shopping. Gluten free , vegetarian and vegan option abound. This isn’t going to be a value priced shopping option but a jug of milk isn’t going to be that much different than most stores. If you need it, it is likely worth the price. If not, there are other options nearby.
It is always enjoyable when walking around the clean store full of organic and high quality foods. This is the to go place where I spent hours sitting at one of the table and studying in the final exam weeks. The staffs here were always cheerful and friendly. Once a grandpa staff peeled an orange from Japan to me. I was so moved. As a girl with sweet tooth, I tried nearly all kinds of treats on the shelf. They had several vegan options. My only problem was: dreaming of cakes in whole foods and eating too much of them ????
Impressive store with a good selection of ingredients and prepared food. Definitely worth checking out.
Love this store. Great selection of whole and organic...however, CRAZY expensive!!!!... cant shop here...3 times Ive shopped here, Ive only bought 3 or 4 small items...not even half a bag of stuff and all three times it cost me up to and over $75. Cant do that often!! Gotta shop back at my regular place. This place is for the rich....
Friendly staff, great Discovery coffee, some products I can’t find anywhere else. What’s not to like? Oh, and several free copies of the local paper to read outside in the sunshine.
Clean, accessible and friendly. Everything in this store is organic which is impressive. Amazing selection of salads and local foods. It is on the pricier side as far as grocery stores go but I think it's totally worth it. Very vegetarian, vegan and clean eating friendly. Also has a coffee shop and seats/lounging area that is clean and comfy. Overall one of the best shopping experiences I've had in Victoria.
There's not much in there that I can't find elsewhere for less... And being gluten-free means any of the fresh hot bar food is to be avoided at any cost.. I'm truly disappointed by WF and think that of all the companies out there this one should be better able to provide good food for everyone including us with concerns
It’s pretty cold in there to be honest
Easily my favourite grocery store in Victoria. I used to shop elsewhere but in the last year it has become my go-to for every shop, and my daughter loves coming with me to ride the elevator. Always tons of fresh, organic produce that’s usually cheaper than conventional produce at other grocery stores. Huge selection of plant-based food, great bulk section and I love the beauty and supplement area. Staff are also super friendly and happy to help!
Excellent supermarket, great selection of products but a little pricey
Shelves a bit barren as stock has been depleted. Some services not available due pandemic policies. Always positive staff though staffing is reduced.
To bad that these stores got sold to Amazon. There are lots of products missing, lack of inventory but their customer service still great.
Nice but pricey.
Great spot with many cheaper items than other grocery stores. I was surprised
did not live up to the hype
Good prices on organic produce
Was there yesterday Aug 5/2019. Love this store (Uptown). So clean, excellent selection of products, eaay parking, 5 min from my home, helpful, well trained staff. Love the deli, and cooked food for a no fuss take home meal. And really like being able to have my bread cut to a #10 thickness.
My favorite!
I have been a costumer at whole foods for years and have never had to wait so long for someone to help me at the deli counter.. many staff saw me and contiuned walking past.. finally I get to the counter and there is nothing that I could eat due to allergies so I decided to get a burrito bowl instead.. the guy making my food wasn't wearing a mask which grossed me out due to covid.. went to customer service desk and they were nice enough to apologize but didn't even offer a re make.. very disappointing since I spend alot of $$$$ every month at whole foods
I love the Whole Foods at Uptown. Staff are friendly and helpful. I think it's a place for everyone.
Great pizz, great burritz, has punch cards for everything except pizza :( Can buy carrots and celery sticks individually
Great place to grocery shop! Especially if you love organic and whole foods. They offer a great variety of healthy products. Great deals at times. You can grab a coffee & muffin, smoothie or eat a full hot meal in the dining/patio area of the store. :) Staff is nice. Parking is easy. Children friendly.
Excellent products. Top quality .Superb service. Fair market prices.
I'm glad it's far from my home and love to be there when I go. Top quality food and service and the deli foods a fresh and flavorful as always. You won't be disappointed and you get what you pay for there.
Great selection of bulk fruits, spices, cheeses (The Rumrunner is so good! Though expensive, but a treat!). Very inviting kind of a grocery store with a lot of space. Makes you wanted to go around more!
Good selection of Vegetarian foods and ingredients. I would consider shopping here if I could currently afford it.
Health has no price I actually find it responsibly priced and you get veggies and fruit that taste like real veggies and fruit! - plus one stop shop for great food! Mmmmm
A very unique store indeed. You will find canned or jarred food brands here which you will not find at other local grocery stores. However it is extremely overpriced. You can find organic produce, meats and dairy at any local grocery story at a much cheaper price. They need to improve their pricing.
Very clean, friendly and helpful staff, lots of space to walk around so you don't have to avoid walking into other people. Amazing cheese selection, the best and biggest in town and a great food bar. Great quality products but you will be paying anywhere from 2-3 times the price of Save on Foods and Thrifty's. A square of Swiss cheese and a pack of mini croissants came to $18, so there's an example of the prices. There is a bar, and I personally don't think it's a good idea to have one at a grocery store, as these days you can lose your license and vehicle after 1 drink, but people should be responsible enough not to do that.
Warm staff, pricey (everything...ok there’s some sales occasionally), you get what you pay for.
A very nicely organized store with very helpful staff. I will be back.
A cool place to grab groceries then lunch and coffee
Always clean and well stocked with a wide variety of foods. The hot food counters offer a wide variety of choices, although meat choices are more limited than I've seen at other Wholefoods branches. Not necessarily the most cost effective place to shop but there is a wide variety of foods on offer. Spacious seating area utilizing both big and small tables so even a family group can eat out. In good weather, the outside eating area is also a viable option. Plenty of parking, covered and uncovered, is available although it can take a while to learn how to navigate the Uptown covered parking lots. Overall, the usual high standard Wholefoods experience.
Everything is pricy, but the quality of food is exceptional
Lots of products for those who can afford it.
Whole Foods is well-run, well-stocked and pleasant to shop in. They have had good Covid policies and procedures throughout the pandemic. The selection of organic and specialty foods is excellent. It may be expensive, but for some items it really is the best grocery store in town.
I love that this Whole Foods has a discovery coffee and a variety of other local specialties. The staff here seem extra friendly. Usual Whole Foods prices.
Extremely high prices and really bad-tasting food. Sandwiches are horrible, Romain salad isn’t as fresh as it could be, pizza is good though. A big choice but almost nothing delicious. Just go to Subway or somewhere else and buy a normal sandwich for better price.
The burrito bowls and the pizza are my favourite things at Whole Foods. It's also pretty cool that they have a licensed pub area where they serve pub food. Smoothies can also be had but are a little over priced. Get the MBNA Amazon MasterCard to maximize your savings here.
Always able to find great deals on a variety of things. Sale prices often better then other stores for foods. Store brand are often same as other chains with the bonus of being tastier/healthier.
I wish their deli had healthier options
Whole foods if like a wonderland of greatness all packed into one store. They have great quality foods and a fabulous selection of fresh ready to eat meals. Be aware, their ready to eat bar can be extremely expensive. I made the mistake of filling a bowl with rice and veggies for lunch and racked up a $30 bill for a meal which should have costed $10.
I will never shop anywhere else. Best and freshest produce selection, beyond superb level of customer service combined with thousanda of amazing product selection. I will never shop anywhere else. Another great reason to shop here is Andrea, once you meet her you will know.
Love Whilefoods, been to WF in LA, Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, San Francisco, New York, Denver, Colorado Springs, Boulder, Phoenix and Tuscon Arizona and a few more. This one is especially great because they have a Bliss Bar which is a local owned organic juice bar and they also have a fantastic restaurant here in Victoria. Great place and it's super to have access to it here. You can have any sandwich made for $9 Canadian here. Great for breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack!
Quality products. The hot food and prepared salads are really good.
Too expensive.
Reasonable prices, vast selection. May start going here instead of thrifty foods. Having discover coffee inside is brilliant.
Fantastic selection, many items you can not find elsewhere. Pricing was surprisingly reasonable. Good selection of ready made items for those on the go
NEVER AGAIN!!! Don't be fooled by this place! Although they have everything under the sun organic, gluten and dairy free, by the time you hit the till you will need to remortgage your home to shop here regularly!! Our local Red Barn and Thriftys Organic and healthier options are far more affordable! Then the parking nightmare!!! Make sure you are in no rush to get your shopping done or get home!!! Come with a ton of cash and patience!!! Better yet, don't go!!! Disappointed ????.
Has a nice little cafe in there and a clean pretty building. Staff are very helpful
Unique options. Spacious parking. A bit too pricy.
Whole Foods has definitely improved in terms of variety of products and service over the past couple of years. It's also one of the cleanest and safest stores to go into during this COVID-19 pandemic.
A grocery store like no other in Victoria. Offers local products. Pick up lunch from a large deli selection. More than simply groceries.
Such a great place! Awesome staff, and good food. BUT! If you are into buying any of the fresh meat, don't. From what I've seen of the cuts there the butcher doesn't really care. Considering the price of the meat at place and the type of meat that it is... A lot more effort should probably be put into the way they are being cleaned and portioned.
Clean great selection or ORGANIC veg and friut.First time shopper so the test is roast chicken no hormons
Good place, free parking and cost is pretty much the same as regular grocery stores except the produce tends to be better here.
Whole Foods Victoria BC. Store makes good impression first comparing to its competition. I like that it is very clean, aisles are wide, shelves organized and staff seems to be friendly and attentive. I like that the company is promoting healthy foods and is environmentally friendly. Here is few tips for the store to improve. Hot buffet comparing to its US stores is lacking selection. I very often come to the store just for that. I find that hot food selection is very limited. There are 2 - 3 types of chicken. I wish they had more choices such as beef, ribs, pork baked fish, lamb stew. Soups seems to be same all the time. Clam chowder or seafood cioppino would be nice add on to its selection. (We live surrounded by the water after all). After 500 pm there is not much to choose. Lots of empty soup containers. Meats and seafood. This section seems to not have good selection. I find here what I can also find in Thrifty stores or less. These are the departments where the action should be. Staff is attentive however do not seem like they want to be here for some reason. That is my impression. Prices are on high side especially for cheese. The seating area in the store is nice though. Overall it is nice to have Whole Foods in town however I see lots of things for improvement.
Love this place. I wish you would open in Calgary. We had a great customer experience with Derek. He was super helpful and awesome. Thank you for all your help.
Friendly staff especially in the deli .Everybody wearing masks. Good selection of products .
Beautiful bright and airy store. The bakery items I have bought have been excellent. The buffet is great too. Overall a fabulous store and a great addition to Victoria.
If I had an unlimited grocery budget I would shop here more often. But I don't. The burrito bowls are yummy and good bang for your buck. Today I went looking for a birthday cake for a dear friend and I knew that I'd had an excellent carrot cake from Whole Foods at a work party. So today we had a strawberry chantilly cake that was unbelievably good! My friend said it might have been the best cake he's ever had. Yellow cake with white icing is our fave and this was Top Notch. The cake had a lovely texture and the icing was fluffy vanilla decadence. All the flavors were perfectly balanced. SO GOOD. Great job Whole Foods... thanks for making it special!
Beautiful place for good food. They have a by the g "buffet" that is really complete and yummy! Lots of choice for vegetarian and vegan!! It ends up being pricy if you buy a big plate but it's worth it:)
This store is in desperate need of help and attention. I have been a faithful Whole Foods shopper for 10 years (I have been to 15 different locations), and this location is unlike anything I've seen in a Whole Foods. The hot food section is horrible. Soup containers are often completely empty, other hot food items are dried out and tasteless, deli items are stale and mushy. There is practically nothing available in the to-go fridge section, many shelves are completely bare. The produce section baffled me- there was such a poor selection and volume of fresh produce, it was reminiscent of what you would find in a corner store. There is a good selection of shelf stable items and I liked the supplement section. Other than that, I have nothing positive to say. Prices are just as steep as every other Whole Foods, except this one gives off the vibe of post war rationing. I really hope they sort this all out.
Good selection. Good staff and service. Seriously overpriced
They do not label their hot bar/salad bar items as gluten free or vegan. I always have to flag someone down to ask them if the Tofu containing the marinade is gluten free. Most of the times, I get an answer that starts with "I think..." I just expected a little bit better from Whole Foods. Label what you serve and educate your staff about the various dietary restrictions. Also, it's good practice to separate the gluten free products from gluten products...not put them right beside each other for increased risk of cross contamination (talking about the bakery section).
Great assortment of hot case and salad bar. There could be more vegan/vegetarian options in the hot case but over all a great selection. In terms of price, brace yourself.
Great selection for grocery shopping! Fantastic and delicious ready to eat food selection! Really nice coffee shop inside.
In bakery the girl named daisy was so nice It was busy new year eve but she try to meet out needs and I really appreciate it thank you
Love to shop here! All the employees wear masks as do most of the customers. Makes for a relaxing and safe shopping experience!
The service is great but the prices can be a bit high.
Always a pleasant experience shopping at this whole foods. Really miss the food bar which has always provided a fast and healthy meals on the go. Short wait time at line up even during peak hours. Only downside is the lack of ethnic grocery items
I've been to dozens of Whole Foods markets throughout Canada and the US, and I can say with absolute certainty that this is by far the worst. The staff are rude and unhelpful, and the coffee bar was incapable of making any palatable drinks. The checkout staff are by far the worst. They either do not bother helping you bag your groceries, or they do so incompetently. I had one bagger put far too much weight in one bag, and had it break open as soon as I got home and took it out of the car. Some signs say you get money off for bringing your bags, which I do, yet, I have never received any money off. The only good things I can say about this store are that they have accessible parking, and usually have items in stock. If you love rude, unhelpful staff, packing your bags, and paying extra for basic groceries, then you'll love this store!
Clean and modern. Ridiculously expensive. Cheaper to eat out at restaurants than to shop here. Burrito factory is the only good deal
Great place to shop, or grab a snack after a ride on the Galloping Goose Trail. Plenty of organic and allergen free options at decent prices. Also love their sushi and burrito bowls.
Expensive. Seems all organic foods. Want lunch. Big variety of food options at their food bars
I have always enjoyed shopping here, but there’s definitely a noticeable change. This store does not hold itself up to the same standards anymore. While I understand amazon has taken over the company, the countless logos in the produce section was quite unattractive. When I ordered a burrito bowl, I received the last scoop for nearly half the ingredients. Seeing someone scrape the bottom of each container just so you’re able to get an almost adequate serving size doesn’t exactly make your mouth water. When I finally reached the cashier, my simple ginger ale came to 5$ which should have been $1.54.. My burrito bowl was entered as hot bar despite me saying otherwise, and came to $22. I attempted to correct each mistake, but received a blank stare in response. Among other things, as I realized later looking at my bill, I was overcharged by nearly $20. Whole Foods can do better than this
Cheers: Thanksgiving dinner this year was truly a lovely experience. We ordered a pre-cooked turkey for eight with all the trimmings and it was very delicious. The pick-up arrangements were orderly and efficient. The reheating instructions were clear and worked perfectly. We would like to acknowledge the excellent work of the kitchen staff and those that assisted in making this such a success. We will definitely consider ordering our complete meal from Whole Foods for other special occasions such as Christmas and New Years. Many thanks and much appreciated. Regards: Ken & Sue Oct.12/2021
Unfortunately they have scaled back the bulk section
Love this place. Yes, it's expensive but the quality justifies it, and the hot food bar is fantastic, especially for people with allergies as all ingredients are listed. Friendly staff, great selection really good shopping experience. Highly recommended.
Nice store, clean, ideally located. One of the best variety of vitamins and supplements. Huge selection of shampoo and organic home care products.
Decently priced. I found some things to be cheaper or on par to neighboring grocery stores. The food options are nice
Go here nearly everyday for favorite soup Broccoli Cheddar however my break.is after 230pm and it seems it's only presented to lunch clients or earlier and god forbid you ask if any in back one ladys answer is always no when others will check and often they have it just to lazy to put out. Today worst experience EVER as they had pre done containers so I grabbed 4 went to express till where cashier said it was $31.69 I believe got home happend to check my bank account to notice she has charged me $131.69 for 4 tubs of soup and didn't give me my receipt in my bag. And why when I go tomorrow to get my $100 over charge do I feel they'll not refund me..... used my tap and go so I never noticed. I'm done shopping there always rude snotty lazy ignoring staff. Now ripped me off a hundred dollars
Another war crime against the unlanded working poor. Feel the shame, as you see just how much better people with money eat than you. Peasant.
Typical Whole Foods with a good selection and polite staff. Good pizza, hot food bar and burritos! Beware of the extremely poorly designed parking garage beneath this Whole Foods. Not all levels connect with every stairwell and it's extremely confusing for newcomers to figure out if you decide to take the stairs. Literally the most poorly designed parking garage in Victoria.
The whole store smells like fish; fix your ventilation. They have a lot of the same ingredients as anywhere else, but just a little more expensive. Why do you have papers to grab cookies and baked goods, but no trash bins nearby? What about good old reusable tongs? You know, save some trees and stuff...isn't that part of what you're all about?
Such a well appointed store and with surprises around every corner it was a delight to shop there. The burrito bowl was delicious. Great selection of quality and healthy foods. Wish I lived closer
Okay selection of general grocery goods. The highlights are the premade foods such as the burrito bar or pizzas, though you can find something you satisfy your desires at the hot food or salad bar as well.
It is a pretty decent store. In the current state it can't be my "one stop shop" store. You can't buy everything you need here and it is doubled up on a lot of product brands rather than including more variety. For example, the spice section thought process confuses me. They are missing handful of spices, but double up on spices between brands. Drop one of the 4 brands and include a wider range for the space would be great. They no longer carry some spices I used to buy. For example, five spice is now gone.
Very happy Whole Foods is finally here. Great central location for Victoria with tons of free parking. 5 minutes from my place instead of a ferry ride away. Their 365 brand is great quality and lower priced. Always lots of things on sale. The bakery, hot food bar, salad bar, gourmet pizza by the slice are amazing. Great lunch spot on top of groceries for all types of food choices. Give them a try.
My boyfriend and I go and enjoy the hot food bar after the gym 3-4 nights a week. However this week, the both of us were violently ill the night after we ate there. We both had chicken and salad. I will not be eating the hot food again unfortunately.
I bought an average breakfast-some eggs, bacon, potatoes, and sausage. Just enough to cover the bottom of the to go box, and not even close to filling the thing. Came to $20, more than i would have paid at a restaurant with service. Sausage was bad, rest was ok. Whole paycheck if you eat here regularly. What a rip off
Great selection, veggies and fruits are always fresh. Staff are very knowledgable and helpful.
$27 for some middle off the road dinner. I had a fish dish, chicken thigh, and pulled pork macaroni and cheese. Could have gotten way nicer elsewhere. The bulk "food bar" is way overpriced. Next time I'll stick with the burrito bar or fish and chips. Those are good deals.
I like popping in here, as a vegan they always have lots of good items that you can't always get at other places. I find some items are really great prices, others are priced relatively high, you have to pick and chose. I come in from Sidney and it's worth the trip just for the atmosphere. A couple days ago had an interesting experience. Bought some broccoli advertised for $1.99 a pound (great price!) but after going through checkout realized they charged me much more. Went to customer service. The chap asked if was organic, I said no. He looked through a little book and said they were only selling organic right now so the price was correct. I told him that was wrong. He said he had to go look then, which I hate. I had a similar experience at Fairway Market in Sidney and wrote a review about it. Anyway, figured I'd follow him rather than stand there. I saw him wandering around the produce section, clearly unable to see non organic broccoli, so I showed him. Back to customer service we go. I was not happy, and told him that I'm sure there were plenty of others that were overcharged but didn't notice. So, not only did he give me the broccoli for free (which any reputable store will do in my opinion, but not all do) he actually took another $5 off my bill as a gesture. He seemed genuinely sorry for the mistake. THAT is good customer service (Fairway Markets!). Kudos.
The prices at whole foods have come down noticeably since being purchased by Amazon. The selection of more healthy choices is unbeatable and you can even grab a healthy dinner while you're there!
Popped in for eggs but ended up just browsing checking everything out. Very impressed with the vegan options. But being vegetarian (plus hubby luves cheese) I also checked out the impressive cheese selection!! We know where to go when we want to have an impressive cheese board!! It’s a bit pricey but for the odd specialty item seems worth it.
