Dish quality good, flavors nice. Bit more expensive than it should have been bit not aggressively so. Location during a walk was good.
Oysters, oysters, oysters. I came here for oysters and also enjoy sitting outdoors when the weather is nice. Oysters here were always fresh, there are many sauces you can choose too. Other things on the menu also looks so good. Tuna tacos were my favourite there as well. It took a bit long for the food to be ready and sometimes there are no table available but overall, it was easy to sit down and enjoy
The best gluten free fish and chips I've ever had. So fresh and flaky. Run, don't walk to enjoy some yourself.
Very good fresh fish fishwiches!
An instant favourite for my partner and I! Second time back today and it didn’t disappoint. The Superior Oysters (Kusshi selection today) were succulent and delicious. The Halibut Fish and Chips was juicy, soft, and with the right amount of batter. We enjoyed our meal with Ocean views in this scenic oasis
2nd visit in a few years, it's just as good and maybe even better this time around. Great fried oysters, thin batter, well seasoned. 5 plump pcs in a large order. Tried the steamed mussels also and that was fresh. Plenty of seating at the wharf.
Had a great time! Loved the food! Fish and chips and the 3 way chowder was so good that I forgot to take a picture. Except the oysters!
We ordered 2-piece oyster tacos - fried oysters inside tasted amazing but the tacos were so tiny, it’s literally just 4 piece of oysters plus very little sliced cabbage, just like what’s shown on the pic. Salmon chowder - tastes great! We also tried half dozen oyster - highly recommend. Very fresh.
New favorite in Victoria. Incredibly tasty. ????
My main source of Protein (and batter) after a whale watching trip. I usually go for the fishwiches, or a tuna rice wrap, but today decided for the BC halibut from the frybar. As this was my first real meal I went all in for two pieces of fish. Thank god I was really hungry, it is quite a meal. Don’t be fooled by the slightly pale batter, it’s crispy and delicious. Chips are quite tasty as well. Friendly and fast service comes as garnish.
This is our go to Fish and Chips place in Victoria. Great food and friendly staff. Try the Salmon chowder and the cod fish and chips. Great sitting in the outdoor area.
Gluten free fish & chips! So delicious. The fries are the BEST!
I love the halibut fish and chips so tasty superb! Oyster is amazing with reasonable pricd
The food was great! Had one of every fish fry and a chowder and the Green salad. I can't believe there was no line! This place is a must! Bravo to the boys on the line cooking all that great food!
Unfortunately not what we expected. We ordered the halibut malo which indicated a *hint* of curry, however it was full curry and not much halibut. The halibut taco was decent, the west coast stew was a huge disappointment. The shrimps were old and definitely had freezer burn. The clams and mussels were extremely fishy and the fish was over cooked.
Hands down the best fish and chips ive had! So fresh and good quality halibut fish. Wasn't a big fan of their oyster fries though.
Super fresh sea food. totally recommend them
2021.11 oh man super delicious, salmon chowder not the super creamy one but taste is right. Fried halibut is fresh. The best is the scallop, 1 lb stream, speechless, super fresh. Can't pick on them. Don't forget their location is with ocean view, relaxing
Delicious seafood right at the water! It was pretty rocky but great view. The scallop special was great as was the halibut sandwich. The soup wasn't my favourite but we cant wait to come try more! Update: the halibut tacos were great, they had fresh tasty ingredients and a nice kick. The halibut sandwich was great again. If you live nearby, I would absolutely recommend the fresh halibut. It was expensive but the best piece of fish I have ever made/eaten! Very easy to cook as well.
OMG I order 1 Dozen oysters and an order of muscles which came with 30 muscles for $28.00 A Buck a Shuck between 4pm and 5pm they were delicious incredible location too one of the best places in BC for fresh seafood. Oh and did I mention they are licensed and I enjoyed a Fat Tug Beer.
Beautiful location with stunning views and fresh seafood however the prices are definitely on the higher side and their competitors offer some better deals. The crab was definitely not worth it, we paid almost $100 for a 2lbs crab. The only good thing was the deep fries oysters, the other items we or we ordered in the photos were only mediocre. Their fries really needs improvement as they are mushy and bland.
Order a piece of halibut and salmon and we must say the salmon was nice and tender and surprisingly not dry. Can't wait to visit in the summer again! …
First time having steamed whole scallops on the shell. Fantastic. Oysters, crab, clams, and battered halibut were great. Best place to get simple and fresh seafood in town.
Very fresh and tasty fish and chips and oysters.
I love this place!!! This was the first time I visit Victoria. We have limited options for eating …
We ordered a soup, fried cod and salmon, 6 oysters and... scallops. We asked for takeout because I was finding it really dizzy having the dock keep moving on the water and they said it was available. We waited about 10 minutes for our food which was unrealistically quick but when we got our food packaging, they mentioned that they didn't have any plastic bags. We had to carry 4 big containers of food. It was raining like crazy and we didn't have enough hand to carry everything so we decided to put 2 of the boxes into the shopping bag I was already carrying. It was a paper shopping bag and I put one hand out the bottom to make sure it didn't all just fall out he ground. It was a 20 min walk, and about 10 min after we started walking back to our hotel, I felt lots of water dropping on my pants but expected it to be Rain. And 5 min after that someone mentioned that my shopping bag was soaked with the juice from the scallops and there was a big hole in the middle of the bag. The water drops I felt on my pants was sauce from the scallops. Rain was the biggest reason but the other biggest reason was because they gave out the liquid food in a paper container. I think it's a common sense that paper can't withstand liquid, and that it will leak. I was getting really stressed walking in the rain with soaked paper bag that was falling apart from liquid falling out of the scallops and having that juice all over my pants. I would have felt much better if the food tasted good but it was definitely not enough to make me happy again.
What a gorgeous place to have the best fish and chips in the world. Amazing cod but wait an unbelievable salmon. Both pieces with a light batter deep fried to a crisp golden brown. Under that crust is the most delicious moist pieces of fish you will ever have. The tartar sauce and accompanying coleslaw made for a perfect combination. Least but not last the chips very nice. Overall including the seating area this place is unbeatable.
Excellent Salmon chowder and must try Salmon fish n chip
Incredible food! Went back for seconds immediately. Also offers a delicious craft cider, which has proven to be a difficult find on drink menus.
We got the 3 way salmon chowder and West coast combo (cod and salmon fillet). The tartar sauce was outstanding the batter flakey and crispy. Needed some salt though. Also, be aware that if Barb's fish and chips beside this shop is closed, it will be long lines no matter what day you go.
Discovered that the Fish Store has a dedicated fryer for fish and chips to be made gluten free and it turned into a must stop for us on our latest trip to Victoria. Glad we tried it out, it's nice being able to enjoy the things I used to, without feeling left out (and having to eat salad with protein on top...). If I could I'd give the fish and chips 6 stars!!! Thanks for being inclusive Fish Store!
Always a treat to have the gluten free fish and chips. Great crispy batter. Even the coleslaw is amazing. Highly recommend it!
It is a great, comfortable and small restaurant in the middle of the Fish wharf. An amazing place to see and have a lunch. I ordered a Tuna poke, the daily special, sided with kimchi and sea weed. It was spicy and delicious. the portion was a bit small for the price.
Visiting from Toronto, had their halibut fish sandwich and salmon chowder, both were off the chart delicious and fresh, yet the price was so offordable. Wish to have them in Toronto. …
Lovely shop on the Harbour for fresh fish and chips. Covered in and heated eating area for those rainy days. Enjoyed the flight of local beers as well.
Everything was perfect. Halibut was excellent. Nice patio area with heat. Fish and Chips without a lot of grease. Well done @The Fish Store.
Delicious high quality fish. Ordered several dishes including salmon fish and chips, a salmon chowder. Everything was excellent, a bit slow since we had to wait a bit but worth it.
We ate here by chance last weekend and it was amazing. The fried oysters are amazing, the order came with lots of fries, tartar sauce and coleslaw. The oysters are perfect. Fried and crispy but super juicy on the inside because they're …
Came here during their happy hour between 4pm to 5pm and ordered their discounted oysters. Prices were fair, the oysters were very fresh and delicious. The service was excellent.
Wanted a big heaping of west coast seafood during my trip to Victoria and this place did not disappoint! Located in a scenic spot and even if there’s a line up .. it moves fast.
