Bought a peanut butter chocolate tart today for a snack, and there were 4 human hairs in it! Tried to call and let them know in case it's an issue with the batch but no answer. They were head hairs, 4"(ish) in length each and mostly sitting in the chocolate layer. Otherwise like this grocery store but wouldn't buy their baked goods again! *It was Lonetree Bakery!

Mother Nature has been a consistent supporter of local organic produce since it opened. It has a reputation for higher prices but their sale prices are excellent and many individual items are on par or cheaper than other stores. Many hard to find items for restricted diets are found here. Friendly staff. So happy to have this in the village!

I've been really disappointed with the produce quality lately. I don't mind the expense if the quality is there, but I'm not seeing it these days. "Tired" lettuce, old citrus - an so on. Very disappointing. Really going to have to consider this when competition opens across the street.

Their food seems to be overpriced compared to other local grocery stores. For the extra price you would expect their food to be fresh. I have had two occasions where we bought items from the deli and then from the grocery where the food was past it's best before date and spoiled. In the case of the grocery item it was over 8 months past due!

Best produce in Victoria!. Their price is comparable to other market around the area.\They buy local and their produces is all organic. The Avalon milk is the less expensive in town. Much better than Thriftys or any other market in the area. Compare them with the MOss street market..where the 'farmers' sell their organic products at the price of gold! I travel from broadmead to buy my produce here as they are fresh and long lasting.

I really enjoy this grocery store! It has lots of natural/organic products. We go there mostly for the fresh produce (which is actually very fresh!). Prices are what you might expect from organic food, but they have plenty of stuff on sale as well (which is where you’ll find me).

For years I've been going to Mother Nature's Market, and I've had nothing but good experiences until the last couple months. My grievances are concerning the covid 19 distancing measures, which are no longer enforced what so ever. At the beginning of the epidemic shopping at MNM was fanastic. They had a limited amount of people allowed in the store, personal produce shoppers and great customer service. That changed around July, and has since deteriorated into a horrible shopping experience. Today (08/31/20 4:30pm) was the last straw, the store was packed, social distancing was non existent, the unmasked produce employee obscured 50% of the area making it impossible to shop, and when I complained to the clueless cashier they told me straight up nobody is enforcing any covid 19 practices. Also, the cashier had no idea the amount of cases in B.C or the island, which has been getting be worse than march levels, scary stuff. For these reasons I will no longer be shopping at MNM and urge you to reconsider supporting such reckless behavior from an over priced "health/niche" grocery store.

There are some great products here, and it's larger than lifestyles, and way better than oxford foods, so it's my go to for Cook St groceries. I find their local selection of produce not very abundant. Lots of stuff from USA. I'd love to see more local vegetables. Also, there have been times where the staff have been unfriendly and with a little attitude, like they don't really want to serve you. I don't want super happy/chatty check out staff, but a smile wouldn't hurt. The last few times I've been in there though, I haven't seen the grumpy ones, so maybe they've left!

I'd definitely like your shop more if you had more dairy-free cheese selections. For example; Daiya, Okanagan, CHAO, Sheese (their jalapeno cheddar and carmellized onion are both really good and not many stores in Vic carry them so they would probably sell well at your store). All you have is sour nut goo for $13 and earth island cheddar slices for $8. I'd just make my own goo if I was going to spend that much. As for earth island... similar tasting brands are only $5... so I'd hardly ever buy that.

I've never had a problem with the freshness of the produce here. Quality is very good, from my experience. Prices aren't the lowest, but if you live nearby, probably worth the higher cost in time saved in driving elsewhere.

Excellent little grocery store. Fresh produce and a good deli and pretty much all the provisions one needs. And they have some fantastic staff. Plus the shop is always clean, has good lighting (not the headache producing lighting of many stores), and pleasant music.

Went in during their 15% off storewide sale. Purchased some meat that was close to expiration because it had a 20% off sticker. When it was processed through the till we only got 15% off. Upon inquiry as to why we didn't get 20% off the cashier took the product to her manager, who then ripped the 20% sticker off the bag infront of us and didn't honor the sticker price. We used to shop here for all of our groceries since it had such a nice Mom and Pop feel, but we now do the majority of our shopping elsewhere.

I love the staff here. I went in yesterday and couldn't find my favorite Black Seed Cumin oil. It was out of stock but they happily sent in a custom order for me Highly recommend this oil for a number of conditions. It has over 400 peer reviewed articles published on it's amazing benefits for fighting colds, flu, reducing blood pressure and blood sugar. Thanks guys!

Terrible customer service, management justifies it as a social norm... overall I don’t enjoy the harsh way I was treated there. I’m grateful that I live in city with many other respectable businesses where abuse of students and seniors isn’t tolerated. If I could give no stars I would for this business.
