Prices and selection are much worse than Dollarama, which would be excusable if the store were shoppable, but most times you can't see half the things in the shelf because of stock boxes in the aisles. Do not attempt to navigate in a wheelchair or with a stroller. Half the staff super awesome, half ignore you.

They are dishonest! I returned to the store with my receipt asking for the money they overcharged me for a purchase. They refused to honor their own receipt. They refused to refund the amount I was overcharged and implied that I was lying about my purchase. Then smugly smiled at me after being rude to me and insisting that I will never get my money back. They told me "Its in the past just get over it" I will never shop there again and I will also let everyone in our Global Village know not to shop there.

Pretty descent dollar store. Courteous staff. Prices are a bit higher than a typical "dollar stores" in big cities but this is very "normal" for a relatively remote town. Also, do not expect the range of merchandise you see in say a Dollarama store in Toronto! That is quite "normal" for such a place too.

This place should not be able to be called a dollar store their prices are basically outrageous! I went to grab a big bag a chips which are usually around 3.50 a bag but they don't seem to sell them anymore! The only other thing i ever buy here is spices even those have gone up in price they used to be a 1$ i believe they are 2$ or more now

Never will go back. Worst customer service I've seen in a long time. Walking through the door with my two kids, the manager (as I think she was) Amey, seemed annoyed. Asked nicely if they had pirate hats was told by Amey "Packed away." Clearly she didn't want to get any out for us and was annoyed with my one question. My one son who has Autism and can't hear quite well touched the bubble gum dispenser knob and was yelled at straight away by Amey and a colleague who was at the register. They didn't even ask nicely even though I was standing right beside them clearly needing help finding something in the store was offered no help got only an abrupt answer and my kids yelled at. If this is the way a manager is going to treat children when you work in a dollar store (you must clearly get a lot of kids throughout the day) then this might not be the position for you. My children were polite and kind and even said "thank you," as we left. Children with disabilities should not be treated this way and there is a kinder way to treat people especially if you're in customer service. I will be letting my multiple Autism Family Groups know of how we were treated so that they're children won't endure the same mistreatment. I hope the owner of the store reads this comment and does some restructuring of the management. It saddens me to know these employees can treat children so awful who have disabilities with no remorse of how it makes not only them feel but their family. My first time in the store and it will sadly definitely be my last.

Bad Taste in my mouth after taking the kids to the new splash pad in esquimalt and a person in gingerbread man costume with ballloons walked back and forth luring kids to run out to the street to get one. Sharpie written GCDS on the balloons. Really poor taste.

I'm done with this store - overpriced, overcrowded, not overly friendly . It's a discount store they have forgotten that. Shop anywhere else, nothing in that store is worth over $5.00. Lost a customer will not be back

NO STARS!!! Bought quite a bit of crafty things today at 9:15 a.m. at the Admirals store. Found I didn't need the 3 black roses so went back to the same store at 1:30p.m., with the original bak and the receipt. They refused to take them back because it's "seasonal", quoted store policy. Not one sign to advertise the fact. Told me I could talk with manager who works out of Esquimalt. Went to the Esquimalt location and they have a sign up 30 day return with receipt. They wouldn't return my $3 because they said it wasn't the right receipt (the til receipt) but I only received the credit card receipt. The manager won't be in until Tuesday. So frustrated right now. I would have bought a lot more things, but this experience has totally turned me off shopping at these stores. So for this poor business practice, these stores will loose the hundreds of dollars I have been spending at their stores. I will be definitely taking my business elsewhere and telling everyone I know not to shop there.
