Good, clean store but the won't announce that a dog is suffering in a hot car in the summer. By the time the SPCA or police would arrive, the dog could be dead or brain damaged. 10 minutes to death. 9 won't shop there. Other stores make announcements.

I unfortunately cant remember the name of a cashier but she really impressed me by suggesting to buy an alternate product which ended up saving few dollars. Absolutely awesome service. That girl had afro carribean hairstyle, couloured blonde hair. I think Natasa but I am not sure.But she was awesome. Excellent

It's a good layout, clean and nice staff. It's a higher priced store, but the sales are very good. Great selection of organic and non organic produce. They have a good variety of gluten-free prepared foods too. Also a good selection of non-gmo and other health foods, vegan foods, and more. When you walk in, they have the best priced plants, that I've found around. Also nice flowers inside.

Love this grocery store... great selection of fresh produce (6 types of mushrooms!), well-organized products, and frequent sales. They have lots of gluten-free options (a separate freezer section with breads/bagels/buns/pie shells/etc) interspersed throughout the store. Staff is always friendly and positive!

Great selection, baked goods, and deli. No loyalty program, so you never have to remember your card. They do a few questionable things like labelling things as a “Manager’s Feature” at the same price as usual, which begs the question: why is this being featured? Great friendly staff. One of our regular go-to grocers.

The produce is always good here, too, and I trust their meat department. Sales are often great on random, surprising things.. if I'm not sure about my shopping list, but know a few items on it will be here, this is my go to store.

I love your store and I also wanted to let you know that the Simon's bakery pies you are bringing in are a great addition. I especially love the chicken pot pie as well as the chicken curry. I must admit after tasting their "tourtieres" wow! they are unbeatable. Being of French Canadian descent I must gives a thumbs up for them. I was in the store today but unfortunately you were all out of their family size tourtieres but I did manage to buy two little ones. Tourtieres are a "must" during the Christmas season.

Good deals on packaged goods and frozen items, though they don't have much for local produce (loads of stuff out of Cali, even when we're in the height of Autumn) you will likely spend a lot less on conventional groceries here. If you're into juicing and all that jazz, they're recently started tucking juicing bundles (kale, chard, mint, etc.) and little "CSA" style boxes in the corner of the organics section - good deal for a mix that's ideal for singletons and couples who don't dine home much.

I usually love the country grocer I get all my stuff from there. Today was different though, I had just come off work and I can usually buy a couple re usable bags when I get in there since I don’t drive and have to walk home. Apparently there were none left in the whole store. So I got 2 paper bags. On my 7 min walk home both bags broke and my eggs smashed, my glass containers smashed and I was left on the road with nothing. I am very upset and confused on why there are no reusable bags that I could buy when that is the whole point of no plastic bags.

Well ... unfortunately it tends to cater to the perceived demographic of the neighbourhood. But with that said they have a good meat department, friendly long term staff and it's a great size (not too large). In general avoid their produce department (Red Barn will fill that gap come spring) and support the neighbourhood grocer. Oh ... and you don't need a silly rewards card to get the sale prices ;)

This country grocer location offers all the standards one would expect from a grocery store, and competes very well with other grocery chains in the area. The best of part the building is the outside architecture, since it almost has this red-barn kind of feel to it. Coffees and snacks from the cafe are tasty, and there is ample parking.

It’s mostly good deals and good variety but keep your eyes on your receipt if you make big shop. Sometimes cashiers make mistakes which is understandable in these crazy covid days, they’re so busy. I paid $4.50 for three tomatoes (400gr) and actually I bought cheaper tomato but cashier put a code for expensive one. I like this store. However, service varies a lot! You can get a rude response or best service ever! Overall, it’s not too bad. I wish there was more international food options. Their sushi however, is super good! The best in any grocery store or supermarkets. When you enter, there are sometimes cool stuff on the right and left. I guess these are locally made. You can get some for a really decent price. Keep an eye for manager’s special. These are really great discounts!!

I have been to this location many times growing up. My recent visit I found the items easy to find and the staff to be polite and helpful. I don't come to this location a lot because I live near downtown, but I used to live in esquimalt as a child so whenever I visit, a lot of memories of the plaza and this store come flooding back. I feel the store is kept nicely cleaned and tidy. The shelves are nicely done. Looking forward to more visits in the future!

Looking for a value grocer? Turn back now... Looking for convenience, a big selection and great produce? Check it out. I stopped in here to grab a few last minute items for dinner. The prices are slightly higher than normal, but I did manage to spot some good deals on "bulk buy" items when you purchase several at a time. I browed through the produce ares and was pleasantly surprised by a broad and organized selection. There also appeared to be a nice selection of organic produce, if you're into that kind of thing. They offer bulk bins, a bakery featuring cakes and all sorts of breads, and even a small quick service food stop serving sandwiches, soups, etc. The staff seems friendly and accommodating and the overall feel of the grocer is clean and organized. If the prices were a bit lower, I would be doing all of my shopping here!

Just a warning: There is a young guy who guides you to the checkout lines, look out for him because he's a control freak. He insisted that I backup and stand on a line even though I was about 7' away from the person checking out. COVID-19 is not an excuse to be rude to people, get a job in law enforcement (no disrespect to any RCMP living or passed). Update: I received a positive response from the store and have not seen that pesky guy again, all of my recent interactions with staff have been wonderful, this truly is a great place to shop!

Great selection. Fair prices. Watch out for expiration dates, they have a habit of letting things sit too long. Also not the most kid-friendly, though they offer free fruit to kiddies, there's no 2-seater carts and other parent friendly amenities are lacking compared to other places in town. Still high recommend though!

I used to shop here often, until I just had one of the employees taking inventory have a mental flip out on my and verbally assault me about getting to close to him will he blindly stood in the dairy section in everyone's way. Then for some reason was completely OK with talking to customers 10 seconds later within 6 feet. I stopped shopping immediately and bought what I already had in my basket. When I called in to make a formal complaint about the employee, the man answering the phone justified the employees actions by saying "Our employees are just under a lot of stress right now". Listen everyone is under stress everyday and you should NEVER take out your frustrations on people that just want to shop at your establishment.

I Can't Stop Thinking About Tony

Consistently clean and well stocked with helpful and friendly staff. Good product and meat sections, and even a pretty decent bulk section for a smaller store. Only nitpick about the store portion is that during busy times it can be hard to get help because there never seem to be any floor staff - I always end up going to someone at a counter or till, and when there's lineups that means it takes awhile to find the answer to anything I need. BUT they are very helpful once I get to them and, most importantly, knowledgeable about their product, and also willing to ask questions of other employees if they don't know the answer themselves! I value that a lot because of course in some stores you have staff that clearly don't care. I'm guessing that means the employees are treated relatively well, as I find enthusiasm and dedication tend to be directly tied to employee morale, so kudos to CG for excellent staff. RE: hot food options, there's a restaurant as well, including a new salad bar-type setup that has both a salad station but also stuff like wings and lasagna and other stuff - which they have boxes at so you can pack your own mixed meal to 'take out'. It's a flat price by weight so you can get a pretty decent sized salad for a pretty decent sized price. I've tried both the restaurant and the salad bar and found the food in both kind of mediocre but having said that, that's all just down to personal taste. Both the salad bar and the restaurant are also kept as clean as other areas and the dining area is a nice bright and comfortable location.

Some are exceptional and always in good cheer. It only takes 1 or 2 abrupt interactions to sour this and turn shopping here into a downer.

One of my favourite grocery stores. This location in particular is nice , clean and I really love their deli and bakery ! The only bad thing I could say about it is although they have great deals A lot of the food is very expensive but its no different than the other grocery store prices.
