Great place with a great variety of food and helpful staff. The store was busy but I didn't have to wait long for anything. It seems that the staff are getting into the flow. The cheese/olive/deli bar will allow you to sample anything you like before purchasing which makes the experience that much better. Pastry--my favourite part of the store! Tried maamoul (pistachio & dates), and Ashta squares and they were all EXCELLENT. Samboosik--these are meat filled pockets and they were really good. Roasted chicken--unfortunately that was my least favorite because it lacked flavour. Fruits/veg--very good display and excellent variety. Prices--somethings are cheaper than other grocery stores and some things are more expensive, but that's everywhere you go. I'd definitely go back and would recommend it.

Nice place and good price. It has fresh vegetables, fruit and variety of bakery items. We got cakes and maamoul (date filled cookies or pistachio) for my mom's and brother's birthday. Both were so delicious. Recommend to visit this place.

Nasty, today at around 1pm, went ot go pick up some roasted green peas in the bulk nut scooping area, Mr. Scooper scoops my green peas, then with his bare hands picks up a run away green peas or some other fluff on the counter and throws it in to my bag of peas, nasty. Many expired items remain on the shelves. I work nearby and often pop in to grab something quick to eat. From bread, to crackers, various pies, even some produce. Terrifying how often I have to check the expiration dates before buying anything. Just today, I went and bought tortilla bread, and to my surprise. It was expired by well over a week. Other than that, great store.

I don’t usually venture out to this part of Gatineau because living in Aylmer I tend to go to The Plateau area to shop. I was needing to shop here so it brought me to this end of town. I discovered Adonis grocery store and it was a nice experience. They have an abundance of ethnic products in particular for me I was ecstatic to discover that they had various Greek cheeses that you really can’t get anywhere else. I will certainly return for this reason alone! Everything else was great too! ????????

Even the birds didn't want it. There's the rum baba we liked, but it was dry last time. Kafta / shawarma / falafel wraps are not as good as a doner wrap or a gyro. They put lots of parsley to the point that it should be parsley wraps. Disgusting, unless you love to chew a ton of parsley like a goat. (Original) On vient d'y aller dimanche. Le beurre était 6,49$. Plus cher que Maxi et Super C, et c'est pas plus frais. J'ai pris un yogourt Riviera en vente à 3$, censé expirer le 11 sept. On a fait le tour du magasin en vingt minutes. Le lendemain matin, on ouvre le pot de yogourt et y'avait trois tâches bleues dedans. Pourtant il était bien réfrigéré. Une autre fois on a pris un dessert qu'on connaissait pas, ça ressemblait à des dumplings au fromage avec une sauce au miel. C'était de l'eau de rose et le fromage était fade et goûtait le tofu. C'est allé au poubelles. Même les oiseaux en voulait pas. Il y'a le baba au rhum qu'on aimait, mais y'était sec la dernière fois. Les wraps au kafta/shawarma/falafel sont pas aussi bon qu'un wrap doner ou un gyro. Ils mettent plein de persil au point que ca devrait être des wraps au persils. Dégueulasse, à moins que vous adorez mâcher une tonne de persil comme une chèvre.

Their ready-to-eat food are delicious and the prepared meats too. Pastries not so much. Prizes of the dry goods are higher than your usual grocery stores like Maxi, Super C. Plus Adonis doesn't carry any generic brands similar to no name brands, selection or great value so there's not much options for buyers. Some cashiers are not trained to be courteous most especially the cashier named Donia B. She has a terrible customer service. Everytime I come to her cash, she's always in a bad mood. No greetings, no thank yous, nothing. Hope by this review, management will train her to have a better rapport with the customers.

Adonis has some things hard to find elsewhere. they also have very good sales. The bread is fresh and the produce usually very good. They have a good low price markdown section of still very good things. The only issue is that sometimes the prices are overly high. Selection is good but I find myself not going as often as they are often higher than what they should be and so I go to alternative places for this reason.

Love this chain, the food is so good but maybe they should hire some new employees (at this location) as some are really rude and don't enjoy doing thier job. One of them kept yelling at me because I parked on the side of the entrance to assist my grandma bring the gorceries in the car. The cart boys were really rude as I had left my cart next to them thinking they would take it (because usually other stores do take it), instead the man working just kept yelling at me in French. I went another day to the food Court, the lady at the checkout counter did not pay attention to me and notice me or the others slowly lining up, 5+ minute's passed till we got served, the worse part is she expected a tip, she was taking her sweet time getting to cash even though I saw her look my way, was not impressed with thier service at the new location.

My girlfriend made my discover this grocery stores chain and we now go there regularly. They have a large selection of deli products, meats (including marinated types) and desserts/pastries. Great choice of fresh produce, fruits and regular canned items. Very clean and modern-looking store, friendly staff. Highly recommended if you don't know it! Many good items that you can't find at other grocery stores... But everytime I go here I will find mistakes on my bill. For example, tonight I picked up a new kind of cookie to try because it's on sale, but when I checked the bill I see they charged me the full price. Because they serve pork now, their best employees left, so only incompetent creeps remain. We are not shopping here nearly as much.

I have been shopping at Adonis for years but I feel that the problem I had today happens often now and it is really frustrating. I tried to get the floor manager three times but was disconnected so maybe they will see this review and remedy the problem. I did not have a large order but I went there specifically for the tandori chicken and red peppers and at the checkout before I could finish packing my bags the other customer’s groceries were being checked so in my rush to get it all in the bag I left the red pepper behind. This is so frustrating and it happens often…either get people to bag the groceries or give the customer time to get their bags packed and out of the check out.You feel very rushed at the cash and it ends up with a very dissatisfied and frustrated customer.

Worst cake I ever had. I bought a cake for a celebration and asked which one was made the same day. I bought it and know that she lied. When the frosting in the middle has gone hard, I know this was not made from the same day. The lady just picked the one that never sold. Even the cake drip got so hard you can pick it up in one peace. So disappointed I trusted this employee, shame on you. My impressions are that it is fresh, clean spacious. Staff interaction was courteous with two members of the team. Certain items like corn, onions, watermelon were on display outside like a market, good touch. This was my first experience and it rates well compared to the Laval location. I have commented on that particular property but it remains the same. I would go out of my way and return to this store until I see changes at the other location per my comments.

I agree with the previous reviewer, the food is great but the customer service, not so much. I was there yesterday and I had to pack my own back while the cashier chatted with another cashier. This happened once before, and when I asked if they had stopped packing bags, the cashier said "Oh sorry, we don't have enough people to pack the bags." Apparently Adonis is different than other grocery stores where the cashiers also pack bags when the bag boys aren't available!

I am really disappointed. I used to love Adonis. Since my roommate took control of the food budget he shopped at this location and did not choose the best items. A whole lot of white bread, pastries filled with spinach that looked like pot and veggie balls that tasted terrible. (I don't smoke and I do have taste buds.) I don't think it's really the store but the shopper that completely turned me off their brand name. When my financials permit to shop for myself hopefully it will restore my perception of their food market. I tend to prefer IGA, Provigo and Metro. You can still purchase Adonis products at Metro. When it comes to my personal health, I do not mind spending a bit more rather than spending on the latest car or cell phone. Some people value more their assets than choosing good food.

I was just there today, and tried to get the attention of an employee who was on his phone, walking through the store. I followed him saying out loud excuse me, excuse me, 5 times, even stepped in front of him, but he went around me perposally ignoring me. Then I go to the "Bulk" section of their store, were you take a number to be served nuts and such. Suddenly, this employee goes behind the counter, and puts his unwashed, ungloved hand in the pumpkins seeds and scoops out a bunch and puts it in his coat pocket, then he does it again! He moves down to the pecans and does the exact same thing with those! All the time another employee is serving a customer right beside him! I asked the employee working behind the counter, "did you see what he just did?", And he answers, "yes, we tell him to use the shovel, but he refused!" I am SHOCKED to see their own employee get away with this!!! That is unhygenic and filthy!! Wonder how many germs are in those nuts and such!!!!! Never purchasing from their Bulk again!!!!

I rarely go to Adonis as they are pricey. That being said you get what you pay for :). I went in specifically to buy preserved lemonsfor a chicken tajine recipe. Sure enough they had them! There's a great selection of produce and dry goods. The only complaint that I have (albeit a small one) is that their narrow aisles make distancing...interesting. Also quite a few people didn't bother with keeping their distance but THAT is NOT an Adonis problem .

I had been a loyal Adonis customer for at least 20 years. The last several years have seen a very steady decline in the quality of produce, prices, and overall service. This USED to be a place to find a nice variety of local foods. Now, good luck finding anything local. Most produce is now of poor quality, and rarely anything local. The service at the Deli counter is TERRIBLE at this new location. What used to be an outstanding family run business that focused on quality, has become a giant faceless, money grubbing institution focused exclusively on their own profits. The reputation that this grocer was built on has vanished. I avoid at any and all costs.

Il n’y avait plus de porc haché, tous les contenants de tomates cerises étaient déscellés et aucun paquet n’était « complet », incapable de trouver de bagels/muffin anglais... plusieurs sections étaient plus que dégarnies. On aurait dit qu’on avait annoncé l’arrivée d’une catastrophe naturelle et qu’on avait demandé aux citoyens de faire leurs prévisions...

It's one of the best place to buy Oriental and Mediterranean stuff in the West Island. Yet their prices are always like 5 to 10 % higher from anywhere else of a same product of the same brand. Good weekly specials, available parkings and good location

Good variety of imported produce, good prices. Nice selection of organic products as well. Fruits and vegetables are fresh and low-priced, but I find that they sometimes lack flavour. The meat is more expensive than a regular grocery store and so are some of the cheeses. Their cakes and cookies are excellent and well-priced and the girls there are always helpful! I wish the restaurant had beef shaworma since it's on the menu and all. I went many times and there wasn't any , the employees didn't know why or when they will have it again... Most of the people working there are nice and courteous but there is a supervisor (woman) that is arrogant and speaks in arabic in front of customers, sometimes making fun of them. Since they have moved to the new location the store is more spacious , the variety has greatly improved, the service is better and the parking much easier. Be careful though, many people leave the carts all over the parking lot.

(Edit) The new location at the mall is bigger and seems to offer more, but it is way too crowded. Never go during weekends. I really like to shop there for international products. They have a good variety of products, but sometimes prices are high. I love their fresh meat, fresh fish, cheese counter and bulk coffee beans, olives, spices and nuts. They are behind a counter and staff serves you so there is less risk of contamination in bulk products. At the meat counter, they cannot cut the meat as you like because they are affraid the rest won’t sell, so be prepared to buy chunks at 20$.

There was a lineup outside. An older couple ahead of me, they wouldn't let both of them in. Back to the "one person per family" deal.There was a cop outside in his car with the engine idling watching people go in. One of the most unpleasant shopping experiences in recent memory.

Il était temps ils ont été les derniers à comprendre!
