Three Stars as ....some good, some not. The good....bakery has consistently friendly, helpful staff and their organic breads are particularly good. Other excellent staff who are always helpful and pleasant include cashiers: Presley, Ha, Cheyanne, Nadine and Brenda (with light blonde hair).All are super nice and real assets to the overall impression of the store. Ryan in the deli and other deli workers, also helpful and friendly. The negatives....some of the customer service staff and cashiers are real "OLD BAGS" ! Crabby, argumentative....giving anything but a good impression of the store overall. For example, today (October 11 around 2 pm) at the customer service desk a VERY rude woman (dark blonde hair, glasses, covered in arm tattoos, very thin and scrawny.....gave me a real " going over" as I made the " mistake" of choosing her to ask about some missing air miles . I was so shocked by her attitude that I told her to "stop snapping at me". Her workmate (heavy set with dark hair) then proceeded to have quite a chuckle about the whole confrontation. I was not impressed. I had heard from other people about some of the crabby, older women working there, usually with no name tags on, these two at the service desk today certainly fit that category! There is also a very rude guy in the fish department named Derrick. Again,I was told about him by another customer. He is a real jackass! Rude and crude. The other negative,... prices overall are too high, compared to other local grocery stores. But they do have better organic produce and bakery items, so that has kept us coming back for smaller shopping trips. But after today's fiasco at their service desk, we won't be back as often. A few " bad apples" really can spoil the overall impression of a store, faster than anything.????

Clean store, smaller but has most things. Not as cheap as other chains of grocery stores. Does give a 3 cents off for bringing your own bag. Decent bulk section. They were entirely out of garlic bread which is why only 4 stars.

This place is close to home for me and great for quick or big shops. Lots of great product to choose from and good prices and lots of deals throughout the week. The layout is nice and easy to find stuff you are looking for. This place is also very cool, great for a hot day! Lots of parking and is never usually too busy.

This Thrifty Foods location was renovated a few years ago and it is now one of their nicer stores in Victoria. This particular location has the benefit of housing the only Thrifty Foods pharmacy in Victoria. Airmiles can be collected on all Thriftys products, with the exception of prescription medication or cigarettes.

Great place to shop, but Ron in the deli section is the rudest employee I've ever met. He should not be working with the public. He told me twice he won't serve me if I have a phone in my hand ( doesn't matter if I'm talking to my sick wife trying to decide what to get her) proceeds to tell me how rude I am for being on the phone. Excuse me? I didn't know this was store policy? Thrifty customer service said they would get back to me but I guess not

The store is clean and well kept, and the staff are very helpful every time I visit. The store is never too busy - at most waiting behind 1-2 people at the checkout, so they're great about keeping lanes open and the checkout lines short. The 3/5 stars is primarily because the store is continuously short or out of stock of lactose free products. Quite often, the lactose free milk or cream is completely sold out, and the lactose free yogurt selection is extremely sparse. A few cheese options, but also not as much as other Thrify's nearby. I am, however, glad they stock Natrel ice cream :) The lack of lactose free products doesn't effect most people, but I find it quite inconvenient when a quick trip to the store ends in frustration that I'll have to make another stop to get what I need.

Thrifty foods Tsawwassen, located in Tsawwassen Mall, provides an ambient shopping environment. The shop supports local farms and organic produces. It is also one of the Air Miles collection place and allows you to use your mileage to pay for your grocery. I especially love they occasionally give out special promotions such as buy one get one free (e.g. chicken, ground beef, etc) and bonus airmile collection. As a side note, if you like fruit cake, it is the right place for a customized order.

The luxury of 24 hours is amazing for a thrifty's! Great selection of groceries and was always satisfied! Parking was great. Very easy to find what I was looking for. The staff were very friendly and always put on a smile. They also have a pharmacy there and if you're in a pinch for a prescription or just some cold medicine, they got it! Will definitely be visiting again very soon.

Now that Thrifty's is an arm of a major food chain, I find less variety, less local brands, and just ... less that sets it apart. Still, the whole chickens are bigger and look healthy where everyone else has scrawny, meatless birds. Some meats are decent deals, and there deli is better than most.

Really poor customer service in the bakery. We ordered a cake days in advance for a birthday, explained the cake we wanted, and we were assured that the right cake would be made and ready. The day of pick up, we receive a call saying “not sure what kind of cake you want, so I just made a basic cake for you” when we explained that this isn’t what we ordered and why would you wait until the day of (literally as we’re getting ready to come pick it up) to let us know, we could have ordered it from somewhere else, the response “well, we don’t make that cake, and you don’t have to pick up this cake if you don’t want it” No apology, no nothing. Click* I really could care less about the cake, it was just their lack of an apology, service or care that they screwed up and didn’t take any accountability for it

I lived in Victoria for many years and loved Thrifty foods there. I decided to stop in since I was in the neighborhood. I got a donut that was pretty good and $15 pack of chicken that was on sale. I bought the chicken on Wednesday and the package said it was good until Saturday which is a very short time for chicken. By the time I got around to cooking the chicken on Saturday it was covered in colonies of white bacteria. It was both gross and disappointing. Not impressed.

I had a nasty fall this afternoon on a run a few blocks from the store. I ran there knowing they'd have a first aid station with a nasty scrape bleeding seriously down my left leg. The team was prompt and acted quickly to hail their first aid attendee (Liam), who escorted me to the aid station. I was thrilled with the quality of service I received and passed along my gratitude to the store manager directly. Not only was the store's team responsible for an important good deed, but they were instrumental in helping get me patched up good as new.

Have been buying my groceries there for many years. Ordered 10 steaks from the meat department and asked to have them wrapped ,was told very rudely that they don’t provide that service to customers...even though they have been providing that very same service for as long as I have been shopping there. Avoid like the plague. Stopped in on my way to the ferry on Friday to get supplies in for the weekend as we weren't sure how far it might be to a supermarket from our next campsite. Friday was June 23rd. Went to cook the sausages this morning...use by date June 18th. Checked the turkey breasts I bought at the same time, same use by date. They had food on their shelves that could cause serious sickness if not properly handled that was five, yep FIVE days past it's use by date. If I knew how to get in contact with the appropriate authorities I'd do it straight away. AVOID.

I eat here almost everyday for lunch. Great grocery chain that is a step above the others. It also has employees that don't seem like 150 grams of sliced deli meat ("No. Exactly 150, please") away from hanging themselves in aisle 9. I am, of course, referring to the shambling workers of Safeway, the sister company of Thrifty Foods, no less, and that other incandescent nightmare Save-On-Foods. Thrifty Foods manages to retain some small slice of homeliness and soul while still satisfying the big business needs of a large grocery store.

Dec 27, 950 pm. I bought tomato sauce, but was overcharged by $2.50. I pointed it out-clerk called for pricecheck. Pricechecker(manager) came back and said he's right it's on sale and to charge that much. Clerk punched in correct price. I said to clerk under the code it is suppose to be free. She disagreed saying manager instructed her to have me pay for item. She got snarky and short with me. When someone overcharges(fraud-intentional or not) in any situation, an apology should be forthcoming-instead I got an attitude. I called to head office number on receipt the next day and no answer. So I emailed a statement of concern, and received a attitudinal reply also.

This is the grocery store nearest to my home, so I am here quite frequently. The selection size, and layout are modern enough and decent (a step up from the Thrifty's further up near Quadra and McKenzie). They also get a pretty decent selection of plants! And carry firewood. Many of the cashiers I encounter here are lovely and kind. // Today I was there, and the handle of my bag ripped and smashed glass and food all over while they were busy.. and everyone was so helpful and kind about it. Great Bakery: bought a custom order carrot cake for a 50th birthday and they even put a photo on the cream cheese icing for me, which I emailed in. Cake was delicious and was a hit at the party - my friends were impressed with how it looked and tasted. Staff were all very polite and helpful. Well, I am always a fan of Thrifty Foods even if I cannot afford it. In my growing up home neighborhood, I got a job at the local Thrifty Foods. Every one was very happy to be there, both customers and staff alike. My visit the other day was memorable only in the fact I noticed all the staff were very well groomed and were mighty white. I also noticed the middle-aged lady cashier was a new employee. One thing I can positively say about Thrifty Foods is that they always employ local. And they focus on customer service. The old slogan used to be "The Smile's in the bag for You!" Back when bags were free.

Was my regular grocery store for a few years, but this year I bought too much expired product including a molding cheese, and while 8 months pregnant I found a large piece of sharp metal in an apple I'd bought. My least favourite Thrifty's store . Seems often to be a hassle to shop in. Long lines etc. also have had 3 instances where the seafood/meat department was reluctant to cut fish to a size for one person, in fact, said they weren't allowed to do it. Had to go to customer service and speak to store manager about this who assured me not the case yet it happened again. Their packaging seems to favour large amounts making it difficult for a single person to get stuff - eg pre-packaged veggies and fruit. For some reason this seems to be more of an issue here than in their other stores - different demographics maybe? anyway still the best choice in supermarkets for fresh fish so Kind of forced to shop there

This place is a part of Sobeys so they accept airmiles. Of note, they make real cakes here which are awesome. I tried the black forest cake slice for 3.99 and it was superb. Moist, fresh chocolate cake with Tart cherry filling and real whipped cream. A quality cake slice that I gobbled it up and forgot to take a picture of it. They also sell some unique specialty food I have not seen elsewhere. A fun mini adventure.

Thrifty's was a locally owned chain now a corp owns them.The name you would think means low prices but often they are the highest. The bread which I judge a store by is not great. It all tastes the same....but it does come in different shapes. They do however have 24hr locations this was smart corp move. You have the stores so run a few staff and get some more Bux.

This has been my favorite grocery store to shop in, staff are always friendly and welcoming. Since the beginning of the pandemic, they have put their safety, and the customers safety as a #1 priority. Sanitizing cart's and basket's oh and they also have good deals on food.

This is a great location! Lots of selection, frequent sales, and they carry some gluten free items that are hard to find. My only complaint is that they can't keep up with the popularity, and they don't have self checkout which would speed things up a lot.

This bakery an afront to flour. If you're unlucky enough to receive a bag of Thriftys cookies or buns quickly bury them in the nearest garage can. This is what happens when talented people make a concerted effort to source the poorest low cost ingredients and still make products that resemble food.

This Thrifty foods is a very comfortable supermarket. It's clean, modern and fresh. Its set up reminds me of Whole Foods or Urban Foods. However the price also reminds me why I don't go to Wholefoods much anymore. My Aunt went to get a pack of 3chocolate covered popsicles. She paid over $7.00 + tax. With Superstore and Walmart Supercenter just across the street from Thrifty Foods I have little incentive to come here often.

Really good store with nice staff, but I wish there was a self checkout line available, or at least there'd be more checkouts, because lines are huge every time, especially at night before closing.
