I have lived close by for 10 years and frequent this store almost weekly. I bought 4 local Okanogan Peaches on Aug 28. When you buy peaches, they are not ripe and take 4-5 days to ripen on the counter. 3 of the peaches were great. 1 was rotten when I cut it open. I packed it in a plastic bag and put it in the fridge until I was out for groceries again on Sept 4.
I brought the peach in with my receipt and waited patiently at the checkout, I explained to the lady that 1 of the 4 peaches I bought was rotten, the other 3 were great, could they please exchange it for me?
She looked at the receipt and went to the back room to 'speak with the owner' for about 3 minutes. When she came back she explained that their return policy is 3 days, I should have come back sooner, but they will replace it for me. She led me over to the peach display and told me to make sure I pick one of the same size.
Really? All this trouble for 1 peach? And then telling me to make sure I pick one the same size? The correct way to handle this would have been to have the owner/manager come out and say, "Please be aware that we have a 3 day return policy, but I understand that fruit can take some time to ripen before you can cut or eat it, i'm glad you were happy with the other 3, please take 2 for your trouble."
Customer service could use some work.
The produce here is usually quite fresh and they often have good prices when sales are on. I will still keep coming back because they are the closest fruit and veggie store for me.
The replacement peach was delicious.
