Sept 11,20 Usualy have great produce..but the price to shop there for eaven just half of my list is much to expensive. So I just get items that I absolutely cant find fr competing GROCERY stores. Surprisingly ALL 9 Strawberry cartons I picked up had quite a bit of mold on them. ???? that doesn't happen often ..but still they were charging $2.49 for obvious molded strawberries.

Lots of store space wasted the isles can be managed more efficiently. Best selection and quality of fruits available. On-site bakery with wide collection of baked goods to choose from. 5$ meal options for good quality food.

Love the store, but but have had issues with 4 out of 5 PC express orders. Missing points for store and flyer deals and then have to deal with PC optimum. Not being told with items are unavailable from the order ( no frills sends an email) And when purchasing salads or others items that should come with dressing and sauce , 4 times now no salad dressing and no sauce

Why when some orders fried chicken do they get chicken strips or something else. I had to give one star to write a review. I don't suggest going there if you wanna pick up a prepared meal

this is a great grocery store. I am a veteran of the grocery business 43 years to be exact. This Independent store is well set up with a real great mix . Most stores this size should carry at least 25000 products and I believe this store does Its probably the best set up store in Cornwall. In my opinion.

When the workers are not on strike, this is a great grocery store. They have delicious fresh food as soon as you walk in, and many options throughout the store. Never messy. Customer service is quick and efficient. Checkout workers are nice and will have conversation with you sometimes.

Ever since ownership changed hands several years ago, this grocery store has been in steady decline. Shelves are often empty, many common items being out of stock. This frequently includes items on special. Where many Independent Grocers and Lola's now stock "ugly" fruits and vegetables, produce that is excellent in quality but looks a bit off, I have yet to find any in Baxtrom's. In an area that has a lot of low-income folks, more affordable ugly produce would be helpful in providing fresh fruits and vegetables for all. Finally, service is hit and miss: many staff seem generally disinterested in providing service to customers. Cashiers find it more important to chat among themselves or, even worse, look bored and/or sullen.

Good grocery store with 99% of the items you need. A very friendly premade meals department. Unfortunately can be definetely on the expensive side for comparable items so shop wisely!

Nice variety and lots of food options but very expensive compared to other grocery stores! The cashiers are no where near as friendly as Food Basics on Brookdale!! I enjoy shopping at Food Basics much more because of the better prices and very friendly staff!

We never waite at cash. The only one I go with FarmBoy. Too much time waste in lines at other places like Freshco or Food Basic. Friendly staff too.

Everyone very polite and engaging. The lady working the bakery Wed. May 28th was very nice and did a great job with writing on a cake I picked out for my son's birthday. Check outs are marked very clearly eventhough a customer was pushing her way through people, but that is not because of the set up, just a rude person. Oh, and the store smelled delicious.

A great selection of food items, probably the most diverse in town. However, prices are almost always higher for the exact same product. If you're looking to save a few dollars, drive across town to No Frills, where you can still collect PC Points while you save money!

Their regular prices are higher than any other grocery store in town. If you're looking for something different you may find it there if it's not at the other stores. When they do have good sales on it's rare that you can actually get it before they run out because they don't have stock or it's only valid for 2 days instead of the whole week.

Grab some Nelson chocolate milk. For my 2 and 4 year old. Didn't not realize it was 10 day expired till after my 2 year old drank it. Normal I check but was in a rush. Absolutely degusted they would leave 10 day expired milk on there shelves. Really show how much they care about the customers and there family's to let that be sold.

Expensive compared to other stores. Sale items go quickly and stock not always renewed. Stopped buying made in store pies when I ended up with bugs in one. They do have a good selection of GF and organic foods. Most employees are polite and helpful.

Large store with a great layout and a ton of selection. Some of the young employees struggle with providing great customer service. The store does not sell beer which is inconvenient but the instore Wine Rack Location is great.

Not happy with the female manager screening people at the door as she was very discriminatory against me who is disabled. From my understanding,, the hours between 7am and 8am are for seniors and those who need more time due to disability. As I stand outside waiting with others and finally get closer to get in, she asked me my age. I told her I was disabled. She continued to pry asking me what my disability was. I explained that I did not have to provide any information to her. Well that wasn't good enough, she called me aside in front of everyone wanting to know more about my disability giving examples like asthmatics, cancer patients ect. is what is meant by disability and who can go in. Talk about being the judge and jury. I explained that she isn't a doctor and that I was there to do my groceries and leave. She said that she would "allow" me to go in but would check on the rules. Wow!! First thing, when I mentioned I was disabled, that should have been good enough but no. Instead, she abused her position and made me feel like I wasn't human or worthy not to mention the embarrassing display of poor management. I don't understand how people with that type of mentality is in a position that she is in.

This Independent store is like Loblaws grocery store (of course) but here I am talking about the pricing. It's not like the Independent store on Montreal Road in Ottawa for example. They are of Shoppers Optimum PC family offering their customer service is great. The employee who served me was just amazing.

Expensive for day to day items as others have noted, but one should know that before going in. They do have products nobody else carries, so that is good. But the cashier I dealt with two days ago was not only clueless about payment methods I could use, she was also rude. Not something I expect in a supposedly "higher end" store Inependent, I think, likes to be.

There is a good variety of products available although their prices do tend to be a little high. I would definitely suggest they need to get a much bigger supply of low carb keto friendly and gluten free products as a selection there is very skimpy.

Love this store. In my honest opinion, the only grocery store in town. The staff is always helpfull and Jessie is always available to help out when he's working. The only thing I noticed lately is that there is items that use to be available and is no longer. We went to pick up a few items on Saturday, but had to go to a another store to get what we wanted. We picked up maybe 8 or 9 items and went to Fresco for 4 items Baxtrom's did not have.

I did not find an item I was looking for on Sunday. I wanted to buy a specialty item called Wasabi paste. There was none in store. I have purchased it at Independent prior to Sunday. I would like to be abke to purchase this product from Independent in the future.
