I'm thrilled with the beef brisket I bought by chance at the Chilliwack location. I followed a recipe from America's Test Kitchen (slow braising in a low oven for 4 hours) and the result is amazing. The only disappointment I had was when I turned the raw beef over to see how much fat, sinew, silverskin, etc. to remove if any, I found I had to remove about 12oz of it. I'm disappointed that I had to pay for this much unedible 'stuff'. On the plus side, the meat had a 20% discount tag on it. See photos - from this to this!

Local butcher shop with a deli counter. Friendly staff who are more than willing to help. I shop there weekly for meats. Also has a good supply of additional sundries you may need for meals. Good store!! I recommend it. Easy to get around - not too big, which I appreciate because I'm not the best walker.

Simply put, fantastic. Well laid out store, friendly service, and competitive pricing. Also a good selection of cheeses - an extra delight! They even had poutine cheese curds. A brand name that is rare to find outside Quebec. Had the chili last night and it was awesome. Lots of in-house made pies. My parents love the convenience of The Mad Butcher's prepared food options. Custom meat carving is also offered.
