Matthew “Kerfuffle” Michael

This place is really neat. They are slowly reopening the museum. Unfortunately the gentleman that was curating it passed away and they are on the process of getting everything rolling again. The tea room is quite fancy. A must visit while in Chilliwack.

Alan N

Fabulous place. All my favourite British foods all in one spot. The candy store there is fantastic.

Leanne Atley

The charming and quirky hidden gem of Chilliwack! A must-see for both visitors and residents. I met with a friend for a taste of British high tea in the Oliver Tea Room and then we browsed the extensive museum and candy shoppe.

An actual piece of Britain right here in Chilliwzck. 10,000 square feet. The British museum, titanic display, princess Diana display, war memorabilia, lots on the royal family. Antique cars, expo 86 display,so many unique things to see even an egg beater display. Massive toy train display. Not only that they have a massive Candy shop with british candies, a massive tea shop with so many herbal teas. There is a British grocery store, they even have an awesome bakery where you can get meat pies like steak and kidney, steak and Guinness, London pub pies and sausage rolls, cornish pasties and so much more. They have a sweet section with bakewell tarts, and empire buscuits and the home baked Scones are huge and so scrumptious! Many other baked trests to choose from. They also have a freezer section where you can buy british style bacon and sausages, even Black pudding!!! Once past the bakery you can have tea and or lunch in the tea room restaurant. They have a large selection of choices on the menu including scones and High Tea!!! You must visit this place! Plan on spending a good couple hours!!! Oh yes, they also have a cake pan rentsl selection, and cake decorating supply section for purchasing, and ladt but not least, the tea room is licenced so you can have wine or even a Guiness with your lunch ????

Thank you for your pre-cautions and taking COVID seriously! Lovely little shop that has a tearoom. A huge candy store section, and we get a bunch of our baking chocolates from here.

Rob Wight

Sooooo much cool stuff in there in such a small place!

Joane

Great little reminder of Britton, love the soups. Great place to pick up specialty items. Friendly staff and always service with a smile.

Anna K

Great place to find a treat for my grandma. The staff are wonderful, and while the prices are higher it's not beyond what is expected for imported goods.

Valerie Heyn

Awesome service! Very friendly staff. Good lunch not the best high tea I've had but pretty good. Accomadating for our little ones. The museum was a bit cluttered but they had some cool things to look at. Definitely come back for a visit when in Chilliwack.

Kevin Chellew (Chewy)

Lots of cool sweets and sodas

Sammy K

I absolutely love doing high tea here! I usually order the royal high tea platter and a bob cratchits platter! They have a nice selection of teas- the cream of earl grey is my favorite!! Would highly recommend this place for high tea. It is also a great place to take kids. Took my 4 & 6 year old cousins here for a tea party :) Lots to look at... Lots to buy... You can also rent out cake stands, tea trays and baking pans which I think is awesome!! The candy store is awesome!

Frostie Hughes

It was expensive won't shop there again

Kelly Marshall

Absolutely delightful plenty of parking incredible store you will need about 2hrs if you are staying for high tea and the Museum. What a great way to spend the a rainy afternoon. Reservations needed for high tea $15.95 per person. The scones cranberry or raisin or plain or apricot scones. Delicious incredible. You can pre order. Take a look at the tea cups what a beautiful selection to buy from $$$ Staff is always pleasant and cheerful and very helpful!! I highly recommend this boutique.. Enjoy!!!

Adrianne Jansen

Best British Place to spend an afternoon with friends or by yourself checking out the museum, sweet shop, wonderful assortments of loose teas and British foods. Caters to all the bakers as they has a large supplies of baking products. Fondants,, molds, tones of assortments of different surgery beads. The bakery is out of this world with cornish pasties, pies, scones, real Devonshire clotted creams to dollop on your scones. When you done all the sightseeing your head can take, it's time for lunch where you will experience another delight. I could go on and on but you have to go and see it yourself. Sorry to say no real handicap bathroom. Well I didn't see one.

Don Creighton

Great staff and amazing food made in house. This Steak and Guiness pie was amazing . Thank you ladies

Ally Young

Loved it reminded me of grandma she came from England.

Daryl Morgan

Much bigger than I imagined. Lots to see, lots of temptations to buy and to eat. I’d visit it again.

Dale Collins

A little piece of England and the place to go to replenish your tea tins!

Patrick Miller

Very tasty Steak & Guinness Pie! Such a cool place! Must see!

Ken Carruthers

First order not ready, substitute for another item and missing half the order, second trip, asked for a specific item and again didn't get the right item, yes it would be my fault, I am picking up for some one else, subject matter experts working the store, shouldn't screw it up!

Roxanne Stebbing

Holiday hours should have been clearer. Wasted a lot of time to come get candies for the store to be closed 45 mins early.

Crystal Wiebe

This little store is a most amazing find, one you would expect to find in a bigger city like Vancouver instead of Chilliwack. It has everything you could possibly want for baking cakes, including pan rentals. The British treats are fun to experiment and I'm sure would be a lovely bit of nostalgia for people living far from home.

Angela Tunke

Best of Britain!! Delicious Devonshire cream.

David Corrie

A nice way to spend an afternoon! Dickens has a lot to offer: a British Sweet shop, a Bakery, a Tea Shop, and a free Museum under one roof. Check out the Titanic exhibits, the Royal Family and Churchill mementos, and much more. We enjoyed a nice lunch and picked up some sweets and treats that are hard to find anywhere else. The nice lady in the sweet shop even gave out free samples!

Heather Reandy

The Taste of Britian is their vegetarian option but beware that it comes with fish.

Adeline Clapham

Love this store ! Found exactly what I needed. Lots too chose from for baking and decorating cakes. Also a large variety of candy etc...

Ichigo Momomiya

Fun, cute. Lots of great sweets and delicious tea. But, A little but too pricey for me.

Haven Dunlop

My wife and I always have a lovely time when we visit Dickens, and leave armed with our favourite British candy! Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Plus the shop/staff are following and enforcing strict COVID-19 procedures, have clear pathways/floor markings, and are requiring all patrons wear provided disposable gloves when in the store. Would absolutely recommend a visit, you’re bound to find something that catches your eye!

J F

Cool British store. However, they didn't have the lime extract we were after.

Christina F

Amazing little slice of England in the middle of Chilliwack! This store was so fun to visit! They have a large selection of British grocery items, a deli and small bakery that sells traditional British savory baked goods like meat pies and pasties. There are two museum rooms that have an amazing collection of old British items as well as antiques and memorabilia from both the UK and BC. They have a cute little cinema room where you can watch old British shows like faulty towers and the best part... A proper tea room where you can go for high tea complete with tradition British finger sandwiches and scones with clotted cream and preserves. The seating is surrounded by antique tea sets in glass cases. This place is an experience that I highly reccomend!!

Jessica Reed

I have been here on several occasions both to shop and for tea. The service and staff are normally wonderful until today. The lady at the checkout was quite snappy when I asked if they ever get in a certain product. When I responded saying “it’s one of the things I really miss” she said “well don’t we all??!” The two other people with me looked at each other and felt she was extremely rude with her tone.. If you can ship refrigerated items, I don’t see why you can’t ship a shelf stable item?? I will be looking elsewhere for the product I would like, as I’d rather pay a little extra for a better customer service experience.

Samantha Otter

An absolute gem! The staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is unlike anything I've seen. You could spend hours taking in all of the amazing collections.

Allen Smith

Good supply of British foods. Pricy but worth it. Always my favourite stop heading east.

Charles Tupper

Astounding, ever changing collection of British memorabilia and excellent selection of British goods, including baked products. Friendly staff. More than one visit to see all that's there. Hand operated Egg beaters... never seen so many in one place in my life ????

Sarah M

Such a magical little place! Amazing selection of British candies, condiments, teas and baked goods. Miles ahead of any other British store I've seen in BC. ????????

Richard Powell

Amazing scones and clotted cream. Lots of great real English pies and sweets. Very unique.

Robin Pack

This is a really neat place to visit! Both children and adults will enjoy British memorabilia such the Royal Family, Churchill, the Titanic, etc. There are many old British brands that will make you smile! You can enjoy Royal high tea, sandwiches and pastries. I have been there 4 times in 7 years and always seem to find something new! Worth stopping for!

Dave Langbroek

What a little gem of an interesting British store in Chilliwack. Wander through all the little nooks and find such interesting tidbits of history. Worth a side trip off the highway.

Joel Kouwenhoven

This place is amazing. I try to come here once a month with friends for their endless soup and scones. Food quality is fantastic and the staff are always awesome. :)

Nigel Plumley

Fantastic store with great British character, and lots of imported goods, plus locally made British goodies. In addition to the amazing museum...yes museum,if you are into baking this store had one of the best selection of products to assist anywhere in BC

Jack Peters

This business is a destination with an interesting British Shop, a British specialties Kitchen, a Tea Room and a British Museum. A nice family run business with very friendly staff. The shop imports products from the UK. The kitchen has meat pies, clotted cream and double Devon cream and so much more. Definitely worth the visit. Thanks.....

Went here before Christmas of 2018 and saw their Christmas display. Was really cool. Sad to see that got broken into and had their money stolen. They had lots of things from England. They had lots of gifts for people and would definitely go back

Steven Wiebe

Great selection of UK goods, including many teas and sweets. I've always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. One of the only local places I've been able to find Camp Coffee

Teresa McDonald

What a find! This place is awesome! You don't need to buy anything to enjoy walking through the museum. But you'll find great things to buy in the bakery, deli, candy store and British groceries. Or if it's a wonderful cup of tea in real china tea cup with some wonderful pastries or pub style meat pies come here for breakfast or lunch. I have no problem driving from Vancouver to visit this wonderful place. Thank you!

Hailey A

I loved this place it’s very cute and tidy. They take great precautions for safety during covid and all the food and sweets are delicious as always. I always enjoy going there when I get the chance. Definitely recommend to everyone.

Beautiful adorable place. Sadly low on staff due to covid. I'm personally willing to buy more from a small store especially when it's been in chilliwack for a long long time. Chilliwack let's support this store more!!

sieun kim

AWESOME! I will definitely go again!

Norman Bruyel

So colorful! My wife and I love this place. Museum, restaurant, candy store, bakery, specialty teas and more all in one place. We spent almost 2 hours in this place having lunch, shopping for tea and candy. A lot of that time was wandering around looking at the amazing collection of memorabilia. Worth a look!

Yrsa Woodsworth

Lovely waitress have had her a few times( Jessica) attentive, informed ,remembers her customers! She’s great! Regarding the store and their mask wearing policies. Bad! Terrible! A sign out front says’ if you are unable to wear a mask, we will shop for you’. As I was paying for my , yummy steak and Guinness pie, the gent in front of me had no mask at all. I asked the checkout woman about this and her sign, after pretending not to hear me ( I’m not a quiet woman) she said she didn’t even notice that he wasn’t wearing one. Really?! Everyone is aware of masks or lack there of. Very, very disappointed that the staff is ignoring the stores own rules. I’ve an immunodeficiency so a little more aware of this issue than some.

Randy Watts

Has all.your celtic and English needs

Infinerdy

Good selection of teas, sweets and snacks bring us in. We drop in whenever we are in the neighbourhood. The staff had always been helpful. There are lots of beautiful tea cups and teapots as well. For those who spent time in Britain this may bring back memories. For us it is the candies e grew up with that are somewhat rare locally.

Elizabeth Salvosa

Love this place. Amazing tea and different sections of treats that are specific for dietary restrictions. I.e. soy free, sugar free, etc.

Jacquie Gartman

Great shop to get British products from jams candies (lots of varirty) Newspapers crackers. They have a museum. Check them out if you are looking for items from the Isles. Handcap parking available.

jean mayer

This is a great place to visit on a rainy day. Great staff. And if you are inclined you can spend hours. A real trip down memory lane. ????

Pnsndltn Ffff

Huge and interesting. Staff are friendly and helpful. Insane amounts of cake decorating supplies including stuff you can reserve and rent instead of buying. The high tea wasn't all that impressive but its affordable and was still fun. I'd still do it again.

A fascinating and historical display of British and world history.

Jennifer Revell

Always a fantastic British time there. So much to see, experience and buy.

chris buchner

From meat pies to date squares, custard to meringue this is the goto for Britain. Typical visit for my wife and I is lunch, grab a meat pie for dinner, stock up on our favorite loose tea and hit the candy store. Oh and did I mention the museum. FANTASTIC.

Moses Lo

We tried the meat pie, high tea, and sausage roll and they were all good. The most amazing part was the cream and jam that came with the scone. The jam was homemade and cream was imported from UK. Price was cheap for high tea. We paid $0.50 for another pot of tea. The server was very kind and willing to explain the menu. Excellent customer service.

Terri L

Fun place to shop for candy and other goodies. Pastry items in bakery are delicious. Nice staff. Interesting museum pieces. Worth the stop.

Chris Baker

Really great food and interesting stuff. The store seems to just keep going! It took us about an hour to get through everything. The kids would love it too just have to be careful as it can get pretty tight in some areas with expensive glass trinkets that could be knocked off shelves and broken.
