Surprised and pleased...we remember the Allan St. Sobeys as not so nice. It is super now. And finally found anchovy paste where no one else in town is carrying it. So clean and a very large variety of everything to choose from. Cashier was lovely too. Will now be shopping there too.

If we hadn’t taken it over, I’m sure I would have gotten charged for a half-dozen bags that were not needed. 2. No available customer washrooms. If it wasn't for the lovely and very helpful young lady who went out of her way to locate the new display area for ready to eat fresh salads, I would be focusing on the male cashier who allowed me to stand in line waiting until the current customer had competed the whole cashing out process, and then begin processing the customer in front of me, before turning off his light and saying to me "Sorry, I am closed".

As far as grocery stores on the island go, this is one of the best. Clean, friendly, lots of carts and not loud! Weird thing to say until you compare the noise level to their competitor's store, who's entire produce section are bumpy terracotta tiles, and shopping carts rattle along in a very noisy fashion. Sobey's has lots of health food products and snacks as well as a great deli section. More expensive than Walmart or Sean's No Frills, but comparable price-wise to Atlantic Superstore and a much more pleasant experience over all.

I did shop at this Sobey's all the time because I live really close but I probably won't be anymore. There are some good employees that I will miss but there are so many bad ones and some night managers that are not so great. I go there because they normally have the milk I want. That being said, the milk I like is usually on the warm side and I actually had to take one back because it tasted sour. Sometimes there is dried milk all over the cartons and it will smell. Other stores don't have this problem so I'm not sure why this store does. I use to love their bakery but I had so many problems with them that I just gave up. If you like Sobey's baked foods then I would recommend going to the Sobey's in Stratford because they have a way better selection and better bakery staff.

I used to go here regularly but switched to Atlantic Superstore due to their overall lower prices. Some of the current issues I have with Sobeys is that they do not require customers to wear masks and that their checkouts are always (ALWAYS) understaffed.
