Colin Rickards

Great selection and homemade scotch pies!

Linda Reid

Love this shop for haggis, blood pudding, iron Bru, kipper, etc.

Dan John

They have a ton of great british items, ranging from chocolates, sauces, to freshly baked stuff they make in house. I'd actually rather eat a locally made, fresh cornish pasty than one that's been sitting in transit across the atlantic :-P Prices are surprisingly reasonable as well, with frequent specials bringing them down even further.

I'm Asian and I found that the staff here are more friendly to the Caucasian customers. Noone greeted me, noone offered me help. I had to ask for a plastic bag when I bought many items. The entrance is really inaccessible because there isn't any button for those using wheelchairs, walkers or strollers, and there isn't any ramp. The dent in the sidewalk is really far from the entrance making it very difficult for those with wheelchairs, walkers or strollers in the rain or cold. The elderly and babies cannot ensure the elements between the car and store. There was a staff at the door and they don't help you open the door for even people who have disabilities or elderly or a mother with stroller. The food is great here which makes all the issues barely tolerable.

Lots of selection, friendly staff. Sausages are not better than ok, neither are the baked goods. The packed good are good though. Check the "Best Before" dates.

We came in on Saturday with high hopes, although it had been a while since we visited McVicar's we have very fond memories. We really enjoyed the custard tarts but the scotch pies were really, really bad. You need to fix them before Christmas time as I am sure you will be busy.

Good range of British food and reasonable prices compared to other British stores. Chap who was working there wasn't too friendly and I didn't feel like my custom was of value to him. Visit Sunday 27 Sep (PM)

I just discovered this place. Decided to stop by to buy some bread and crisps with my friend (we are interracial). As soon as we walked in, we got dirty stares from a lady working there (she had curly blonde hair and a thick British accent). When we were cashing out, this same lady was unbelievably rude to my friend (who is black) and it made me very uncomfortable. There was no reason or provocation for this whatsoever. My friend and I remained friendly and polite the whole time. As we were walking out, we heard the woman make a racially inappropriate comment to the other worker there. I was shocked and appalled. Safe to say I won't be back again. Once was enough.

Baked goods are generally excellent. Great selection of the usual British fare with lots of chocolate choices. My only caution is to be aware of price before buying. Some items (especially since COVID) are priced very high next to others that are quite reasonable e.g. pork sausage rolls are a great buy at half the price of the beef ones. Four Bourneville bars at $20.00 is very high price IMO.

Over $30 for an easter egg no thank you rest of stuff was also very expensive. I saw on face book a dollar cream eggs that's the only good price!. You would sell more if you were less expensive.

Great place! They have a fridge section with potato bread, meat pies, cheese and meat. Wide variety of crisps (tayto and walkers and others) and other goodies. I inquired about some sweets that they didn't seem to have and they took my information to call me once they get them in. They also seem to have a seasonal selection as there are a number of shelves dedicated to easter sweet sets.

Been buying fantastic British products from Chris and Sean for years now to enhance my menus (check out their bangers and other regional sausages!) Just recently hosted a Robbie Burns night at the Black Swan pub and they supplied me with some great haggis. Lots of great feedback from our guests, many of whom had never before tried this Scottish specialty. Love these guys, will keep buying from them for years to come. Thank you gentlemen
