The covid 19 policyis a staff member goes with customer to assist with shopping. The one that should have helped me didn't even acknowledge my presence. He slowly put some sanitizer on his hands, donned some gloves, put on a mask then walked away and disappeared without even saying a word. A really fun place to shop. I love to come here if I'm planning a night with friends or movie watching, or anything that might be improved with snacks. They have an incredible variety here. Candies of all sorts, plus other snacks and baking ingredients. It's not always a deal, but if you're careful you can do really well.

Allow extra time to shop at the Courtenay Bulk Barn during this period of the Covid-19 pandemic. There are only a few people allowed in the store at a time so you may have to line up to enter. The store takes its cleaning and safety protocols very seriously so patrons are asked to use hand sanitizer and to don disposable gloves before entering the area where foodstuffs are located. There are directional arrows on the floor and shoppers are asked to abide by them and not pass other shoppers. Lines marking the six feet safe distance are marked on the floor approaching the check out. The check out area is thoroughly disinfected after each customer vacates the area. The bins are well stocked with the usual wide variety of baking supplies, candy, pet food, and specialty food products.

There is a a huge variety of things to purchase from here that I recommend you look up on Bulk Barn's website for a sense of what this company is providing. From candy's to spices to protein powder, there's literally almost everything you could ask for. Having been here once on a random occasion, I found the staff to be super friendly and really helpful. The only suggestions that I could give to Bulk Barn is to provide the customers with paper-type bag to help reduce plastic wrapper waste and containers as well as providing the customer with electronic measuring scales to allow for a more accurate measurement. Other than that, this place is neat.

I drive over 35 minutes to go to this store. I LOVE everything I can buy there! I have been there over 10 times. However, every time I have gone there the staff is incredibly rude to their customers. The one time the cashier closed her till before giving the customer change. She was the only cashier open. The manager was outside in his car. She did not take anymore customers. She did not call anyone else to the front to take the rest of us in line. She did not leave the till to go get the manager in his car. She just stood there yelling through the glass and waving her hands trying to get the manager who was parked on the other side of the parking lot. It was SO painful to watch. This went on for OVER 5 minutes...Finally I said to her, how about I just go get there manager because yelling at him from inside is not going to do anything. So glad there is a store opening in Langley closer to where I live!

Love this place, they carry so many goodies including chips, chocolates, nuts, and a ton of other treats in bulk. They also have a huge selection of beans, rice, pasta and soup stock in bulk. They carry a variety of packaged tea as well as tea leaves in bulk. Coffee beans are sold here and a coffee mill is available to grind your beans if you wish. Drink crystals (for lattes, hot chocolate, etc) are available in bulk as well. They also have pie filling, honey, and molasses. You can also make your own nut butters, there is a grinder available and they also have a variety of premade nut butters in bulk which you can scoop into containers as well. They also have protein powders and vitamins, soaps and cleaning supplies. There are a ton of baking and party supplies available and they carry the Sweetapolita sprinkles! They rent out specialty cake pans for only $1.99/day but I believe that they charge a $20 deposit. Dog treats, cat treats, and bird feed are available. They offer a reusable container program, and plastic containers as well as mason jars are available for sale. However, they do charge $0.05 for bags and recyclable bags are available for purchase at $0.99. There is a ton of free parking available.

This is a great place for picking up different items in bulk. they also list all the nutritional contents and ingredients so it's easy for people with allergies or on a specific diet. They also have different cleaning products and a good selection of coffees and teas as well as nutritional supplements.

Great spot! We go there regularly as bulk items are cheaper, especially protein powder. I felt very safe COVID wise because the staff were very diligent to ensure customers were masked, took disinfectant, and put on gloves. It was a bit of a challenge putting goods into plastic bags while wearing disposable plastic gloves. My first attempts were messy. Next time I will take reusable containers. The Bulk Barn web site has the rules for reusable containers.

This Bulk Barn location is clean, well cared for, with attentive staff. They offer your typical Bulk Barn deals such as Senior and Student cheap Wednesday. The reason this location lost a star is due to the constant lack of closing twist ties with the paper on them to write the order number. They are also often out of pencils, so we have restored to bringing our own and writing on the bags if we run out of person containers.

This is a very clean store with a good selection of items including cake pans, boxes and Wilton decorating items. While I am grateful that I can bring my own containers to reduce waste, it would also be nice to see a small discount extended to customers who chose to do this. Prices for items can be slightly more expensive than purchasing from the Superstore nearby so make sure to check prices if you are on a budget! The scoops and bags are also huge so be careful of how much you scoop as it is very easy to over-purchase items if you are not using your own containers. Finally, the check-out process at this store is always slow and there are often noisy kids in the store buying candy so bring your patience with you.

I was very hesitant to go to Bulk Barn during COVID-19. Then I went and felt really comfortable because of all the protocols they had in place. I went back today and it was very different. Gloves are no longer required. I mentioned it to the cashier and she's like, oh, we're in Stage 3, people have options. It's a bulk store for crying out loud. Protocols are necessary. Sadly I will have to take a break until Covid is eradicated.

Interesting concept, you can buy as much or as little you want. All products are in bulk containers and you see the quality you are buying. The product is not hidden in fancy packaging. They have it. 'nuff said. Candies, baking supplies, dried ingredients for emergency kits, specialty teas, its all here, from "a pinch to a pound" as they say. (more than a pound is perfectly acceptable). I often buy the candy and the baking supplies because honestly they are the only ones who reliably have stuff and have acceptable prices.

Love this store! It's always clean and the bins are well looked after and stocked. The staff are pretty friendly. You can bring your own (clean) storage containers and fill them up instead of using plastic bags. You can also purchase a variety of containers and neat low/zero waste products such as silicone cooking/storage bags and beeswax wraps, which replaces plastic wrap or aluminum foil for food storage. They also have metal straws for sale which is pretty cool!

The have baking supplies for cakes and decorations and filling for pies and lemon curd, custard cream, apple pie filling, butter cream filling, real icing sugar whipped up, honey machine, peanut butter machine. Disappointed by level of customer service by Chatham Bulk Barn. Today a customer ahead of me had large purchase and just needed a couple packages of gift wrap baggies rung in separately since for charity event and cashier told her she had to go to end of line. Even fast food drive thrus do separate orders. Then separate cashier number 111 older lady rung through my stuff and my mistake I forgot to tell her I had a coupon. She told me she would have to refund and re-do and I asked if she could since coupon was the whole reason I stopped there. She proceeded to roll her eyes and tossed my stuff on scale out of frustration. Very unprofessional of her and not a customer friendly rule to make a customer go to the end of the line to make separate purchase. Company would rather lose a sale than take the 30 seconds to ring in more sales. Very disappointing the level of customer service that was given today. Will think twice about shopping there if that is how it is going to be.

What started out as a somewhat negative experience ended up very positively! Yesterday I picked up an online order, and once I got home was disappointed to see that two of my items (chips and mixed nuts) had a lot of broken pieces in the bottom of the bags. I know they are swamped with online orders and staff are doing their best, it was just a bit frustrating. I emailed customer service and let them know my experience. When filling your bags with delights, its very easy to go overboard though (and I am sure the franchise knows this). Nous avons décidé d'essayer cet endroit en ayant remarqué un rabais spécial de 15% dans la circulaire sur les noix du bresil. Une fois rendu sur place ils sont 2x plus dispendieux que chez Costco. Pas dutout été impressionné sur le prix. Par contre pour le choix et la diversité des nombreux produits c'est très bien. Beaucoup de bonbons, noix, fruits séchés, farines, pâtes alimentaires, cafés en vrac. Attention de bien connaître le prix ailleurs de ce que vous voulez acheter chez Bulk Barn.

I was able to place my order online, it was confirmed by email. I also received a phone call because part of the order was not available in the size I ordered, but a alternative size was available. Overall the service was excellent with great followup. I prefer the freshness of the products, there for I expect to pay slightly more. Bulk Barn is not the least expensive retailer in the are, but the quality is very good which is important to me.

Great place to find a treat or two... lol, you will see. Or to get spices for a recipe your trying out for the first time. The staff are always busy stocking and cleaning but if you ask for help they will drop everything to help you. Looking for something they don’t have, they may be able to special order in for you. Or in my case, order extra so it’s always available when I need it. Great store to get your gingerbread house decorations! Thanks Bulk Barn for always being there for me.

It's clean, there are plenty of different choices and varied. I bring back my own container because I want to make 0 waste. It's super convenient and the staff are all very helpful. J'ai toujours eu l'image du vrac comme quelque chose d'assez sale car tout le monde peu mettre ses mains dedans, c'est à l'air libre etc. Et bien pas là bas. C'est propre, il y a plein de choix très divers et variés. J'ai ramener mes propre contenant car je veux faire du 0 déchet. C'est super pratique et les employés sont tous très serviables. C'est juste dommage que les spaghettis ou certains bonbons soient emballés de plastique. J'y retournerais c'est certains.
