Really bad management for student employees in the kitchen department, they treat them with no respect and no consideration. For shopping is ok but if you are looking to work there and are of colour skin be prepared because they would believe white people over you, if you are a parent don't let your teenage kids work there because they would make them work like adults with little training, and expect perfection after just less than two months.

Though If you're looking for fresh made food, they have a great pizza and stir fry bar where you choose the ingredients and they cook it on the spot!

Excellent specialty supermarket. Their slogan says “it’s all about the food” and you can instantly feel that when walking through the doors. They have a large variety of fruits and vegetables that aren’t always available elsewhere and they look and taste very fresh. They offer lots of simple processed food that they make themselves such as preserves, sauces, juices, etc. they also have a wide selection of ready made hot meals, a salad bar, a few different kinds of soup, and a large bakery section that makes all the goodies. I haven’t tried their ready made food or baked goods but I can surely vouch for the freshness of the fruits and vegetables. Staff are also very friendly and patient. Not your typical supermarket where you will find all you’re looking for but if fresh, locally made food is what you’re after then this is the place for you.

Will never shop at farm boy again. They have started phasing out the products they sell for "farm boy" specific brands. And example of this is daiya pizza My family and I enjoy daiya pizza and they have completely phased it out for their own, low quality ingredient filled vegan brands that is disgusting.. To make matters worse, to avoid driving 20 minutes to come to the store and them not sell it, I called and spoke with Alex who claimed that yes, they specifically had daiya pizza, he "checked" and they are fully in stock. Will never shop at farm boy again, you have wasted my time and lost my respect for not selling other companies products only to substitute for your own garbage.

I love Farm Boy they always have a healthy selection of fresh foods, veggies, fresh variety meat choices. Although more antibiotic hormone free meat choices would be nice. Great recipe ideas and food selection to go. I always like to look an staff associate in the eyes and say hello how are you, every time farm boy associates are always helpful and smiling back at me. I like that human interaction.

Not your normal grocery store! On top of the fresh fruit and vegetables, they have a fantastic meat and seafood selection. They make custom burgers with ingredients like gouda or cheddar cheese, double smoked bacon, caramelized onions and portobello mushrooms. They always have fresh Atlantic salmon that can be cut to your liking. They have their own Farm Boy brand products that have not disappointed and I haven't even mentioned the deli counter or bakery yet! So much to choose from that we just keep going back. Well worth the trip.

I come to this Farm Boy’s grocery store often since it is right across from CF Masonville Place. Their Italian slice breads are cheap, and I buy two Italian slice breads for $5.00. All of their soups and drinks are fresh, and it is worth your money. Their meat and dairy products are affordable and high quality that is identical to Costco. All the staffs are friendly and fast. All of their products are in good condition and clean. I will always come to this Farm Boy’s location whenever I am at CF Masonville Place.

Since they opened, they have been raising their prices. For Example, Central Market roasted almonds was 8.99 for 400g package (Which is fine. I have always bought it for 7.99 when i was in Toronto). This week, the price is 8.99 for 300g package. That is 25% price increase in a few weeks! This is also a deceptive practice. They thought people won't notice the smaller packages. If they wanted to be honest, they would have kept the same package and raised the price not the other way around. Not the place to buy your essentials (OJ, rice, chicken...etc). Even fruit is fresher and cheaper at RCSS and other stores. Good for some organic food, deli meat, fresh bakery, and having lunch. I usually shop their for specific products and buy the rest of my groceries somewhere else.

was at Farm Boy on Fairway road on Saturday and was disappointed and worried with the small isles and the number of people in the store. Almost impossible to shop and keep the proper social distance from people. You need to limit the numbers and have a line up on the outside of the store. I will not shop there again until this is corrected!

Imagine my surprise when I unpack my groceries from farm boy and notice that the cheese curd label had gotten stuck on the bag, peeled off and uncovered another label underneath that they had covered. Not only are they from 2 days ago but the first label has a lower price. This makes me question the integrity of anything else “made fresh”

I was pleased to have some change from the mainstream big grocery stores. Took my 84 yr old mum and was not impressed with the accessibility parking spaces being at the far end of the lot. They’ve since moved them to the west of the door but they didn’t allow the space that’s required on each side! Annoying trying to open doors and exit properly! (Why is this not important to the franchisee?! Especially with soooo many seniors in Oakville and people in general with mobility issues?! Do better.) ** update ! Spaces have door room on sides now. I don’t care for the swinging monkey over the produce section—creepy! Prices are comparable to other grocers. Their store brand has been very good especially the soups, spreads, pies and coffee. Their return policy seems to be satisfaction guaranteed because I returned an item I didn’t like no problem. I wish I hadn’t taken my mum there because now she wants to go every week! ????

The store manager here is amazing! He’s always out on the floor talking to his customers and making sure you are helped! He always takes the time to talk to my son and make him feel special. Yesterday we were waiting at the meat counter and he came up to my husband and asked what he could get him! Super impressive considering he has a whole store to manage but he saw a customer waiting and wanted to make sure he was helped right away.

I am obsessed with Farm Boy! I love shopping here for their fresh produce and farm boy items. There are never big lines and I would say the prices are quite reasonable given the quality of the products. They also have my favorite bagels from Ottawa which is an added bonus.

I moved from the United States and have had a hard time with the stores in Canada as I had a few favourites in the States that I loved (Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Wegman's). Farm Boy has been my Canadian equivalent... This particular store is amazing. The prices on fresh fruits and vegetables (especially local) is unbeatable for such quality!!!! The staff is very helpful. One time I went in and they didn't have what I was looking for and the store manager took my number down and said he would call me when it came in! It's small enough to navigate. The staff members engage my kids. And it's not always crazy busy (which is surprising). Great store, highly recommend!

I have to edit my review after the horrid service we just received trying to order a stove made pizza. We tried to order a bbq chicken pizza but requested regular bbq sauce instead of the chipotle version. They have never had an issue with the request when we inform that it is due to an allergy of the peppers. Today however we were told No, and informed that they never do that substitution. We've done that at least a handful of times. Everyone has an off day but lying to a repeat customer is not a welcome change. I will be looking for other establishments to spend my.money at.

Farm boy was our go to up until today. We ordered "fresh samosas" from the hot counter. We opened them up in the car to find mold all over them. So much for fresh. When taking them back in I was told it was not mold by person and they were hesitant to refund my 4.50..... Then the store manager came out looked at it, acknowledged that it was mold and said "sorry I guess man" and walked away. Needless to say i don't think we will be returning here as clearly their standards are pretty sub par

My wife and I love this grocery store we are so impressed with the freshness of all over the farm boy locations, when you walk in the store even though there is a fish counter not 20 ft in front of you you never smell fish or bleach, which says to me fresh fish, the fruits and vegetables are the best quality and even the deli counter a spectacular.

I love the quality of food and produce at this store. I am partial to the take out butter chicken they offer on the hot foods buffet. The deli has a decent selection, but it could use more Montreal smoked meat/pastrami on offer. The bakery is fresh, not incredibly adventurous but the quality is there. I have had mostly good service at this store, with the odd, indifferent part time employee. I like the dining area where you can eat a quick, affordable lunch on the run!

Lots of different things not found in "big brands", and a bias to locally-sourced products makes the slightly more expensive prices worthwhile. FB stores are well designed, and the walking distance to get what you need seems more efficient.

There's definitely strategy behind Farm Boy from the delicately curated displays in the produce section to the layout of the store itself and right down to the product selection and brand marketing.. the message is clear with Farm Boy but for me personally I'm a stickler for customer service and when I got to the stir-fry section of the store thats whatsealed the deal.because of this ray of sunshine Farmboy lived up to the hype!! Andrea greeted me graciously while she bounced around not only helping customers but her staff manoeuvre their way through their roles and within five minutes she had helped at least four or five people with a smile on her face. She was friendly she was knowledgeable she was serving customers and fixing sticker printing machines all while buzzing around ... her customer service was absolutely wow-worthy. The only complaint was that the stirfry bar items did not look so fresh at the end of the day, given the time it's understandable but still not the standard of freshness I was hoping for. The bakery lady was also quite lovely to my daughter.... #A1customerservice

Farmboy has small town charm and big city selection. I love thier fresh vegtables! The veg quality and selection is so much better than the big box stores. Initially I had thought that Farmboy was expensive but after a couple of years of being back in Canada and having shopped at all the local supermarkets I have realized the differences. Produce I purchase at Farmboy actually lasts longer then the rest and the flavour is more (my favourite-organic tricolour corn on the cob). They also carry items that you can’t necessarily find locally elsewhere (canned butter beans, jarred olives without garlic, different types of gluten/dairy free items). And the meat doesn’t look grey or smell old, so all in all I’ve saved a lot of money with a lot less waste. I still shop at the other supermarkets for items they don’t stock but for freshness, and convince I go to Farm-boy.

First time to a Farm Boy, it was an enjoyable experience on the whole. Environment was clean & well merchandised.The gents at the meat counter were helpful get exactly what we were looking for. Was enjoying ourselves until an employee doing stock abruptly approached me while I was gathering photos for this post! She was less than friendly and after I told her I was a goggle mapper and wanted to share the store she walked away. Then she pointed me out to another employee and sent them off, and said "just to make sure" in an elevated voice towards us. The visit went from enjoyable to feeling spied on for the duration. Luckily the cashier was a pleasant young gent and saved the day. The paper bag for the groceries was a throw back and liked that touch! Might try another location next time.

Farm Boy is by far my favourite store in both Cambridge and Kitchener. Every town and city need one. I spend far too much money there, but it's all worthwhile. The food is both fresh and made from scratch. Their own sauces and products are amazing (like their Thai chili sauce) and their baked goods are much better than their competitors' such as Zehrs. I love their pizza bar (a little too much..), their stir fry bar, salad bar and hot bar. I go there at least once a week and my husband and I have our lunch dates there as well. Please never change!

This grocery store is located in the plaza on the northeast corner of Walkers Line and Dundas Street (Highway 5). The parking facilities in this plaza have come under significant strain since the grocery store opening. There is a busy LCBO and Shoppers Drug Mart in the plaza and there will be difficulties getting into and out of the plaza. A left turn onto Walkers Line required a 8 minute wait within the parking lot car queue on a Wednesday afternoon. This is a primary reason that I avoid Costco. The interior of the store is organized into numerous small kiosks. The primary features of the store focus on the Farm Boy house brands. There is a small butcher shop and seafood department. I was very interested in asking questions of the fishmonger....I waited 10 minutes...no person appeared. The expansive meal-ready-to-go section looked impressive but on close inspection the offerings were dry and requiring attention. This again was at 3:00 on a Wednesday. We purchased several of the Farm Boy branded offerings for sampling. The prices were on the high end. The sales we partook in required multipack purchases. There is no pet food section or bulk food section that we could see. We liked the fact that desserts could be purchased in half portions, like a half pie. We enjoyed the soup and salad bar both of which were well maintained, well stocked and fresh. Overall, I would not run back. However I must, because we paid a two dollar deposit on a milk bottle. The only way to get the deposit back will be to make a further purchase.

People who visit this store should know that they are at risk of being in close proximity with individuals without facial mask and so putting their own health at risk. It was explained to me that the management and / or employees do not have the right to question anyone without a mask and most definitely cannot ask them to leave. The mandate requesting mask cannot be enforced. A fact that makes this policy totally ridiculous . On my last visit to the store (sept.17, 2021) I have seen a number of young adults without any face covering and one middle aged woman with a mask full of large holes that was held bellow her nose. I think that the public should be aware of the situation so as to be able to make an informed choice as to where they want to shop.

Please carefully check your receipts! I found this store often charge customers more on the produce than the posted price on the shelf. The receipt only tells you the price per Kg and the shelf tags show you the price per lb (with very small font in kg). Since I noticed their trick last month. It has happened twice on me in one month! Once on the eggplants, another time on the cabbages. When this kinda mistakes happened in Fortinos or Longos, they will make it free as a compensation/penalty. This farm boy store only refunded the difference.

Great for meats. Frequently they have amazing sales on great meats, and you can ask if they are brined, and the ribs aren't. I've bought ribs on sale in other super markets only to be disappointed by poor quality, tons of fat, gristle, and shards of bones. Have not had that at Farm Boy, only great ribs. Their meats are definitely their loss leaders for sure, and boy do I fall for being tired and lazy and wasting my money in other stuff. I'm wary on produce. It's been so hit or miss with produce. Tried to cut the bad parts out of a sweet potato until I realized there were no good parts. Some fruits went bad before they ripened. They've got a freshness guarantee, but I haven't had the energy or time to go back and get refunds. Can I just make one trip to the store and have good produce, please? At first I liked their soups, but realized soon that they were all blended into almost homogenous boredom. Be nice to have texture. Also would be nice if their low sodium soups were made with less bitter vegetables. But nah, you don't want salt? you must be on a health craze for kale and broccoli and the suffering means it's healthy, right? The staff seem very knowledgeable about their sections, and I've seen them explaining mangos to customers, butcher's proudly talking about meats, etc. If you want help or have questions about food someone will help. Me? I wanna wander aimlessly and stare at stuff, thanks for setting stuff up nicely for me to do that.

Iv always had great experiences, until recently. I really miss the pork and beef stir fry with the lime sauce, really unfortunate they refuse to bring it back. The staff for the most part is lovely. Absolutely love this grocery store. Some people criticize the prices, but it's completely justified by the quality of the produce there. I'm telling you, it's fantastic. Fair pricing. Try and locate the produce shelf that has items wrapped because they will expire the 'next few days'. There can be some pretty fresh items on the rack for half the cost. Butchers counter always putting out daily preparations, such as housemade meatballs. There are great items like fresh honey and organic peanut butter to choose from. This store definitely helps to make healthier choices without such a heavy price tag attached to the lifestyle.

Farm Boy is one of my favourite places to shop for groceries. Great variety of just about anything fresh. The meats are great, the produce is awesome, the salmon is also delicious. The salad bar, sushi bar, pizza and sandwich bars are also great. Honestly... you can't go wrong. Sure, the price are sometimes a bit higher than the bigger box stores but... they win with fresh and variety. For us, it is minimum a bi-weekly stop. Keep on keeping it fresh Farm Boy!!!

I have been a customer a few times at this store. And it seemed inviting for me to come back, which I did. Today I bought the “fresh” bread but when I got home, I noticed that it was really bread from a few days ago. It looks to me that it was just warmed probably in the morning then put back into the same package but with an additional sticker layed on top with a new date. This really contradicts farmboys slogan saying “its all about the food”. For a new store, I would expect the regulations to have been more restrictive than lacking.

I will begin with the positive first before sharing the not so good experience. Staffs are friendly, polite; and the store is immaculate. I called to order a vegan pizza ahead of time and I was told that they don't take phone orders. I went into the store to order and had to wait half hour before it was ready. The wait time too long, there were no one ahead of me. It was 11am in the morning.

Was very rudely serviced by a sandwich counter employee at Farmboy on Fairway Rd, in Kitchener. I was at the counter for over 5 minutes politely waiting for her to finish trying to fix something (unsuccessfully) behind the counter. Not once did she look up or pay attention to the counter. When she finally did, I suggested she should from time to time look up to see if there is a customer waiting to be served. Forget an apology, she retorted back saying "you could have yelled out"!. She doesn't stop there. I do not even say anything yet she continues and has the nerve to lecture me: "it is all about communication sir". Unbelievable! I then ask for manager and she replied "they are all in a meeting now". How convenient. I asked for the name of manager and instead of listening, she replies "as I said they are in a meeting". I repeated my question and then she calls over this "supervisor" Emily who turned out to be also completely useless. All Emily had to do was relay my complaint later to the manager when they became available (assuming they were truly unavailable at the time). Instead she goes "...I don't handle this, I am just a supervisor...". Like OMG. Not even an apology. Anyway, this Emily also could not answer why there were people shopping around inside the store WITHOUT any masks on, when there is a mandatory by-law in effect now. At this point, I walk away, and while I finish my shopping Emily supposedly pages the store manager. Finally, I line up for the check-out counter and still no manager. As I wait my turn at the cashier line up, this "assistant manager" walks by. When I reach out to her, she directs me to the store manager, as he was finally coming out. I relayed my concerns re: customers with no face mask on in his store and the customer mistreat incident to him. Regarding mask his reply was "once they are in store there is nothing we can do". Well, then why are you letting them in? You have employees at the entrance with carts. I mean there were people in the store who did not even have masks around their neck (as in they took it down later upon entering). They aware essentially being allowed in with no face coverings on.Apparently, customer safety and preventing community COVID spread within their indoor store environment is NOT a priority at all. Neither is fostering positive customer experience. No one takes any ownership, despite the fancy prices. Manager does not even know who works in the sandwich counter of his store. Even though I had provided him with a description of the obnoxious employee, he kept asking me what she looked like, since I did not take down her name. Like its not even that big of a store. They also apparently don't care for customer feedback as I see no response from Farmboy, to any of the customer complaints here.

They offer recently pre-cooked food to take home for a quick re-heated meal. Best grocery store in KW in my opinion. Grew up in Eastern Ontario where this franchise started and missed the quality and diversity when I moved away. The fact that they have an awesome salad bar and sell beer makes the store even more appealing. Now, keep in mind, generally you get what you pay for. Prices here tend to be a little more than other grocery stores. Well worth it in my opinion though.

These spring rolls are so blunt in taste, no salt, no chillies, no flavours. All you taste is the sweet vermicelli and veggies. These were supposed to be starters but tasted like sweet dish.

Farm Boy had a fantastic produce section, and in particular their produce section is the best of the grocery stores within a few kilometres. They also have a good selection of meats and cheeses. In general though their selection is not as good as a larger grocery store such as Zehrs or Food Basics. They are great if you want to get hippie-tangental foods such as kombucha or kefir as they have a lot more selection in those foods. They are pricier than the average store for most things they sell but their produce is mostly reasonable.

Staff are attentive and more than accommodating. Be it bagging up frozen bagels (because bins were empty) or making poutine burgers special for us (because displays were empty). They always aim to please. This store has fresh fruits and vegetables that are way better than anything else in the area. The meat department is small but we can always find something wonderful. The store itself is beautiful and clean. Tip: try the Farm Boy brand chocolate covered almonds... I promise you they are amazing!

I come here all the time, they have a big variety of foods, plenty of parking and small lineups (usually). The only reason for leaving a 4 star is because as i’m sure people know, this place is quite expensive, I do feel as though many of the prices are too high and they can definitely be reduced. Overall, if you’ve got the money, and time (its a big store) i’d recommend giving them a try.

I love Farm Boy and I’m happy to have our own location here in Oakville. Their salad bar is my favourite over Whole Foods, Nature’s Emporium, Goodness Me etc. I spend a decent amount less, than their competition. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the stores look great too.

This is an excellent store. I am so glad they have expanded to Oakville. It is my favourite place to shop in Ottawa. Always fresh stuff and their own house brand items are superior. Nice clean displaus of all the goods. Very friendly staff and great ready-to-eat things too. This new store will now be my main goto for shopping.

It's small but mighty. I like their products and considering the quality. Their prices are fair. Nice layout. Reminds me of the grocery stores I used to go to with my mom when I was a kid. The employees are nice and the hot food is restaurant quality. Be careful, you'll end up buying more than you thought.

Like all the Farm Boys, the franchising is great—but unlike the 4 or 5 other franchises where I've shopped, this one went above and beyond the call to help out an elderly member of my family after she left some of her groceries behind. The customer service here is a cut above. Does the high quality of the produce justify the slightly above-market prices? I'm not sure. But the quality of the staff and management certainly does.

Really enjoy the store, however I find it strange that the Farm Boy Gelatos don’t have tamper proof packaging. Unscrew the lid and there is no barrier at all. I feel like this is sort of a pretty standard thing now for safety reasons.

While you can get great self made sweets and the store is very pleasant, the products variety is very lean.. and highly priced. The home made food is seasoned weirdly, and there is always a line in the registry.

This is a quirky chain that is trying to be a Canadian Whole Foods. I initially went to Metro and walked out when there was NO local produce. Once I found out that there was a Farm Boy nearby I headed right there. I was able to get some Ontario produce, but they only had hot house tomatoes and no Ontario fruit. As we are staying at a KOA where the water tastes like iodine I also want some jugs of spring water. NONE.

If they're hiring young kids for cashiers, they should train them in customer service skills and how to properly treat customers. Cashier snapped at me today because I mistakenly was on express lane, it looked as it was enjoying to make me feel bad in front of other customers because of an honest mistake. I have been a loyal customer since they opened in Kingston, and don't appreciate having to be treated in such a rude manner.

Location can be busy and congested at times. They have excellent quality food, and a very impressive salad bar & hot meal bar for take out. I'm not a fan of the Cash out locations is all of thedebit machines are mounted on posts which do not make it easy for someone in a wheelchair to use to pay for their merchandise. I'll be glad when stores get the hint and make their debit machines moveable.

Great produce, gets a little overwhelmingly busy sometimes for such a small store, but their produce and meat are top notch Edited today. A little annoying that on a busy Saturday, there were lome 5 people behind the meat counter and only ONE serving customers, not very good customer service there.

Great place for fresh fruit and vegetables. Great selection of ready made food including salad bar, pizza, hot food bar, etc. Good selection of ingredients for vegetarian and vegan cooking. Their house brand red pepper hummus and pita chips are our go to snack for Sunday afternoon football watching.
