The parking lot at this location is a bit of a nightmare to navigate and the store itself is run down and could use new lighting especially. Otherwise it's a well run, clean grocery store.

Best of 5 Metro's in the general area. Big, clean and lots of sale items (look for those yellow/red tags.) Park around the edges of this busy parking lot so as not to get stuck in the middle. No carts can go in the parking lot so use the Grocery Park & Pick-up to the left of the entrance facing the store (ask staff to watch your cart while you get your vehicle.) Don't let Michael the homeless guy who usually sits outside the exit door bother you, he is harmless, he does shout & swear but kindness always brings out HIS kind side. He needs Bus Tokens to get around, you can purchase them at Customer Service, so if you can manage help the guy out, please.

Its It's very clean, not overly busy so you can still respectively distant yourself from others. My mother actually works there so we shop there often. (No they dont get a discount for working there...sigh..) The old manager Charlie has retired, shame he was a very nice man.... and Patty the new one has taken over and judging by the awful turn over rate there it mustn't be going very well for her.

Very clean. Prices are mid-range. Goods advertized in specials flyer are often placed away from where one would usually find them making them hard to find and lengthening the shopping experience( which I'm sure is the goal). I'd rather pay slightly more and take less time shopping.

Metros selection amazes me. Great offerings for gluten free diet. Some items that you can't get anywhere else. Prepackaged fresh store-created options for singles or couples. No need to buy a large meal. Staff has always been friendly and very helpful. Especially love the staff at the seafood counter. I can't think of anything that id change. . I pass by 3 other grocery stores to shop at Metro. Definitely my favourite for many reasons

Today is August 16th. This is the second time I’ve come here and found expired yogurt. Last time it was over a month past it’s expiration date so I guess I’m lucky this time was just under two weeks past it’s expiration date. Never shopping here again. Amazingly convenient that is 24 hours. They would be better served having a larger kosher food selection, especially with sushi, as one of the biggest Jewish populations in the world is living in this area. Not to say they don't have a kosher selection, they have a humongous kosher selection. I'm just hoping for some prepared foods at midnight when every single other kosher place is closed. Also convenient that it is in a thankfully generally very safe neighborhood of Toronto. They also have a pretty decent last second flower shop where they can wrap it for you also in-store.

First: The staff at Metro always treats me very well. The staff is working hard there. Second: What brings down my star rating for Metro is the [OVER-THE-TOP] price gouging. They know what they are doing to the customers, and frankly they don't care. While the argument and reason of being a very expensive store is because they are open 24 hours a day... is a load of poppycock!!! The lights and cost of staff being present at 4AM would exist whether the store was open or closed. The staff clean/stock shelves at that time. And from what I have seen in the past, stock boys/girls stop what they are doing and quickly process a customer through cash if needed (then go back to what they were doing). Third: The food supplier that comes to Metro, also stops at discounted grocery stores [yes... LIKE Food Basics!] So why the 4.00 tomato? {exaggeration} Jacking locals and the University students is down right disgusting. Walmart has opened behind them. Let's see how this plays out.

It seams that a good bakery is hard to find, but Metro bakes normal Turnovers. This has been a find. Sure turnovers can be found in two other locations, but not the same. One flavor in particular that Metro makes is my fav Raspberry. I have found they are ok, but if you coul use a real raspberry jam filling like Smuckers it would make spending the almost $5.00 for a box of 4 worth my drive from the opposite end of town. You make turnovers good, but how about making the best turnovers?

After 6 years shopping at this location, for the first time I saw a very bad attitude from store manager and deli department representatives. When I asked for all beef salami, they wanted me to buy a product that had no cover or tag on it. As you can see in the picture, it does not have the same look as all beef salami with black cover under that. The manager said: If you buy 500 grams, we can open a new one. Otherwise, you have to buy the unnamed one.

They have what this store manager calls "WOW, what a deal" sales (a sign right at entrance way) on various items, weekly - especially on their butcher shop products - they truly are good deals. Their hot food, ready for pick-up is decent, but even more than decent is their pizza - you can call the store, ask for the deli, and pre-order your pizza pie. They use fresh ingredients (obviously, as they use ingredients from the store, and when cooked properly, is one of the better pies in town). This being said, when you get a veteran pizza maker their 'za is great, however, on the rare occasion, depending on who cooks it, it may come out a tad soggy (still edibly good). This location sells beer/cider/wine.

Not impressed with this metro. The produce spoils quickly and the quality is not the greatest. The hot foods sold in the deli such as wedges and chicken fingers are dry and stale. I have often found milk and yogurt days past its best before date on the shelf. I bought dog treats once that had a best before date of a year prior. Their packaged bake goods (muffins) are dry and tasteless. One approximately five occasions I bought garbage tags at the cash which they don't hand to you until after you have paid even upon reminding them they still forgot to put them in my bag causing me to have to return once home or have to keep track and remind them.....the list goes on and on. Save money go to no frills plus their produce is not only cheaper but better quality.

This has got to be the WORST Metro in the chain. I get it that it is smaller than some but they always disappoint me. There's always a basic item that's out of stock. And no matter the time of day you will be waiting in long lineups. It's 10 pm and there is ONLY ONE regular cashier on duty and there must be 20 people here waiting to pay. Poorly managed store.

I've been shopping at the North Bay Metro for eight years. I love this Metro because it has a great selection of organic fruit and vegetables, eggs and meat, gluten-free foods as well as some cool international foods. I really love that they sell plain kefir and soup bones. (Bones can be tricky to find in grocery stores). Also, the cashiers are friendly and helpful and will pack your bags carefully. My only complaint is that there is rarely someone working behind the fish counter. The fresh seafood selection is great. But good luck trying to find anyone to serve you.

Great produce and meat selection. Beware of the deli section. Last week, I purchased Irresistible Artisan Goat's Milk Cheese. When I went to use it, I realized it was out of date... 3 MONTHS OUT OF DATE! I went to Metro today but could not return for a refund since I lost my receipt. I thought it was wise to alert the staff at the deli about the out of date product but when I tried to explain, I was responded to in a rude manner. The employee immediately went on the defensive and all I was trying to do was give them a heads up about an issue they could easily correct. Since the employees are unable to properly respond to my concerns, I implore the public to be aware of the expiration date on the products you purchase here.

This is perhaps my favourite grocery store in the Guelph area, of the 4 or 5 I visit regularly. The facility itself is clean and bright, well stocked and organized conveniently. I have had no trouble finding all of the items I am looking for by following the clearly visible signage throughout the store. I have not often found items to be out of stock. Each time I have been ready to checkout there seem to be an adequate selection of staff members standing by to assist me, unlike most grocery stores that have a problem keeping open enough available checkout lanes.

I lined up fo 10 minutes outside to get into the store. Social distancing was adhered to. Carts were sanitized & we were offered hand sanitizer. In the store, however, social distancing was difficult to maintain because there were no directional arrows & customers were passing each other in very close proximity!!!
