Every time I come, the old lady cashier workers and ones at customer service and self checkout act snarky and condescending. When one asks for help they don't do anything and instead hand around the customer service booth and gossip. They treat the young student workers poorly which is no surprise that many quit and feel overwhelmed. Maybe if the old workers actually did their job and not act sour all the time, Safeway would be better. It will be better when those old ladies leave, can't wait.

For the price of the products available in the grocery store, it's worth considering buying these at an alternative supplier, especially if you are working on a budget and have a large number of mouths to feed. However from a strictly selection, organization and shopping experience standpoint, I find it somewhat superior to the alternatives, and provides an atmosphere of the old classic grocery shopping experience I recall from my memory of accompanying my parents when getting groceries in the 80's and 90's, and feels more relaxing and slow paced, yet has the convenience of self checkouts and a variety of grocery clerks as the competition has, and serves to streamline the checkout process. Also worth noting that the types of brands, flavors and out of the ordinary items are very common to see here. Also the largest card and digital gift card section in Spruce Grove to choose from on special occasions and events that warrant cards and such.

Sfeway spruce grove and all safeways have been going through changes since sobey bought them out. But the Spruce Grove branch has been going down for a long time. We have been deligently shopping there for nearly 25 yrs! After my visit at the stony plain safeway last week, I won't go back to safeway spruce grove for big groceries. Stny has more choices complement vs big trade marks AND the shelves are FULL!! Lately at spruce grove safeway shelves are empty. Although it is nice to have the complement's line, it would be nice to have choices. Like they often have complements but no other line available! Shelves stand completely emptied with a sign that says it is to better serve us!?????‍♂️ I hate to no longer support the workers at safeway spruce grove though, they are the best! ????‍♂️

There is always parking available which is nice. There's a Starbucks inside that usually doesn't have much wait at all but I don't think they scan for star points ????. The deli and bakery always seems to be staffed with someone to help you although I think alot of people over look that and they have a good size floral area as well. Usually have 3 or 4 tills with a cashier working plus 4 self checkouts available. Only downside of the location is if you want to go east towards Edmonton you have to loop around a few blocks.

We usually get custom birthday cakes done but our cake lady was full for the weekend. We hit up Safeway and when we went to pick up the cake the lady (Jeanette I believe) in the bakery noticed one side of the icing was falling down and promptly fixed it. By the time we got home with it, two other sides were falling down as well. Took it back and she had no problem fixing it - in fact she redid all the icing in about an hour and the cake looked a thousand times better. Oh, and the cake tasted decent for the price.

Basically the same as the Stony Plain Safeway store is clean although it is a bit older they could do with updating their tails instead of a round felt they should go to the straight belt so that you can fit more food without it getting squished. The deli and management had NO CONCEPT of what and allergen is. I was hoping to grab a few things from the deli but being celiac I need to know if things have gluten in them and I had two people helping and they couldn't figure it out! Yesterday, while waiting in the queue a cashier a woman jumped the gun and cut in front of me, she said she thought I was in line already to go to a checkout, but that cashier was closing after her current customer. After a brief conversation with the queue jumper, I decided, as she only had a few items to leave her go ahead. Lo and behold in mere seconds a manager appeared, he opened a register and proceeded to ring up my full cart of groceries. How nice was that!!! Plus he gave me an additional $3.00 off a $10.00 item that was a sale item already. I left that store with a smile ???? on my face, totally obscured by my covid 19 mask, of course!

I've been shopping at Safeway in Spruce Grove all my life. I really like the store but the staff isn't always very friendly. I can say hi and you usually get a grin. They never greet customers and sometimes it makes me feel uncomfortable. I'm a business owner for 36 years and I would never treat my customers in such a manner.

My daughter and I went to Safeway's to get flowers for a friend. The lady working in that department today was amazing ❤❤❤ we combined 3 bouquets into one. One of the bouquets was not the freshest so she offered to look in the back to see if there was anymore which there wasn't. She then offered to help us pick another one. She took her time and combined all the flowers for one big gorgeous bouquet. Will be coming there again for flowers ???? highly recommend!

Whomever is running the bakery seems to be missing the timer 75% of the time. Baked goods are overdone and dry/rock hard most days, which is disappointing. The cookies here can be great, but it's like roulette whether you'll be buying a hockey puck or not.

A great grocery store that to me always has that 'just cleaned look and feel' They have a weekly flyer that you can find on flipp. So drop by shop a bit and grab a Starbucks coffee in-store.

The best grocery store in spruce grove by far! I am in a boot and can't walk much. The lady that was working to till offered to get me to help getting the cart to my truck. I just wanted to say thank you so to the lady that offered me help it made my day and I will be buying my groceries from this Safeway!

Normally when I go get food from their kitchen there’d be a lady there to prepare me whatever I ask for when there’s nothing left of the specific food items that I’d want. Today there was a boy working and he didn’t want to prepare what I asked for. And tried giving me something else rather than what I asked for. When I got home to eat, the chicken was chewy and dry af! Dang I could’ve just got their frozen pack of chicken and warmed it up in the oven myself because it’s not that hard to do! Lol. But nooo, my convenience is inconvenient to them ????

I seriously love the staff. Not fond of the whole sobeys change- got rid of alot of Safeway brand food I liked. The bakery has changed with the sobeys overtaking but that's another story. Bottom line is I am most comfortable at the Safeway in spruce grove than any other grocery store. It's organized, not packed like some other places, and the staff seem happy and always friendly to everyone. The flower shop in Safeway is also awesome.
