You will be able to see the information of people who are buying the products and services of Prairie Gardens (Fruit Store) in Alberta (Canada).
At present this business has a score of 4.2 stars over 5 and the score was based on 127 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings is really good, and it's founded on a large number of scores, so we can be quite sure that the assessment is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to put tatings when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Fruit Store belongs to the category of Farm.
A little disappointed in what we were able to do vs the cost of going here.
A nice visit to a small farm.
An amazing place to take the family helping them learn and explore.
We visited Prairie Gardens twice in the past couple of weeks, and are very impressed with the quality and selection of their plant material. I had a hard time resisting the basket of tumbler tomatoes that were already ripening on the vine! It was busy, but no insane line-ups to contend with, and the staff are super-helpful. If they dont have what you want, they will try and find it for you. For all you gardeners searching for quality plant materials , Prairie Gardens is a Must-Visit garden centre. Its worth the drive to Bon Accord.
Large selection and nice plants
Tourist trap, not for locals obviously. Went to Open Farms Days here (free admission) and although it was stated online that there were free activities, the only thing free was the mazes. Everything else cost tokens, including food, which we later discovered were non refundable. Seems like they make their own rules/costs up as the go along... I remember disliking PG the previous 2x we had been, but couldnt remember why. Extortionate prices for basic entertainment... Also, why sell plants but no pots? Brutal
Great for young kids. There is a lot to explore and learn. My niece and nephew loved coming here and were very happy with their experience. Shout out to the "Gem Mine" attraction, both kids were ecstatic while sifting for cool stones.
What a fantastic place! Staff are kind, friendly and definitely make the day! So much to do! Train ride, mazes, great food, and so many other fun activities for the whole family. Thank you to Prairie Gardens, we'll be back!
We really enjoyed our visit! I was reluctant because of the 40 minute drive, and it was so worth it! Jan gave us a great tour as we chose our produce. Who knew that Alberta has its own vegetable? Also that you can eat so many things including lambsquarter! I've been twice, once prepandemic and one post. The first time there was more to do and yet I enjoyed the second time just as much.
Awesome place specially for kids, lots of activities to do.
This a good place to enjoy spending time with kids, specially in fall.
Nice trip out to the country, friendly staff and wholesome activities. Play equipment for kids is a mixed bag of fun and danger. Some maintenance seems to be required. Priced relatively high.
A fun fall experience!! My only regret is that we didn't go earlier in the season as I'm sure it would have been beautiful with the sunflower mazes in full bloom. My boys had tons of fun, aged 6 and 3. ***Special shout-out to "Mrs.Bee" who was in the tee-pee organizing interactive drum lessons. She had so much positive energy; the boys responded to her guidance really well and had a blast learning and following the beat. There are a ton of big and small activities throughout, full-sized and "mini" mazes, petting zoo, face-painting, haunted house, pumpkin cannons and more. There's an indoor heated area where you can get in from the cold to have a bite to eat or do crafts as well! The place could use some reno's/refreshing as it seems to be getting a little worn down, but it you're looking for a humble low-key Fall outing with the family, it's perfect.
Just had a great birthday party for a 6 year old here. Kids from 4 to 10 all had a blast!
Fun family place!
I love the ambience of this farm! It feels like you're in a fairy tale with all of the buildings. My kids especially love the petting zoo!!! I love strolling through the greenhouses, and the staff is top notch! You can even stop for an ice cream on a hot day, or grab some fudge to satisfy your sweet tooth! I highly suggest taking your little ones here!
Loved it. Despite the weather being horrible we still had a lot of fun and were able to do a lot. Definitely worth the drive from southwest Edmonton.
The Prairie Gardens are a must-see! They have two sunflower mazes, plus a corn maze and rows upon rows of u-pick pumpkins and veggies. Of course, due to the restrictions imposed by the government due to covid, many of the attractions were closed off - including the kids area, petting zoo and some of the on-site attractions. Nonetheless, they are doing the best they can given the circumstances and were super accommodating for a few moms visiting with their babies in tow! For that, they are worthy of the five star review. I can only speak for myself when I say I’ll be returning to the farm once the covid restrictions have lifted.
More than what I expected. Kids had a good time!
Good place in summer for picnic for a day out. Pet zoo. My kids a lots of fun. If you are looking to make or have fairy garden they have everything.
Oh what a beautiful place to visit any time of year!! All seasons offer an assortment of activities for children and a delight for parents. I love the clean air and the rustling of fallen leaves. The picnic areas are lovely. Take the time to drive out there and plan for 3 hours to fly by!
Lots of fun. Fantastic staff. A great place for the entire family.
Excellent place for families with kids. Lots of gun activities to do and close to the city too - 20mins from Edmonton
Beautiful place! We've been bringing our kids here since they were old enough to walk and it's a great time every year! There's usually something new or different every year. You can tell the owners care about making a great experience, I can't wait to see it another year. Didn't get a chance to see the big Maize Maze this year but I'm sure it would have been great See you next year!!! ????????????????
Went near the end of September with no big special events going on. Insane wait times for everything including ice cream and food. No staff for the fudgery and no one maintaining/supervising the petting farm. When we went to the mining station, it was closed due to lack of staff. This place used to be a nice afternoon but is not worth the drive or money if they are not going to maintain or staff the farm. If there is limited things open, they should have a different price or warn customers prior to purchasing. Tattoo station? Closed. Face painting? Closed. Photo booth? Closed. Fudgery? Not staffed. Baaa farm? Empty and overrun. Train ride? Shortened due to things blocking the track. Extremely disappointed. Will not be returning. I am embarrassed I recommend this for our family outing.
Very very expensive at $20 each !!, kids should be cheaper than adults for the not hard corn maze. Everything is closed there, not impressed !!????
Really liked it when we were there in previous years. However, disappointed this time. Really needs to be maintained or admission price lowered. There was minimal staff the weekend we went and signs for activities were all laying on the ground, some not working ie) duck race. Staff that were there were friendly and trying to do there best. May be better on days they have their big events scheduled, but don't bother driving so far from Edmonton for an "off" week.
So much fun! We went closer to the end of the season but we still got to see the animals, the sunflower and corn fields and pick some peas. The people working there were super friendly. This would be a great place to take your family or even a cute date idea. So many cute photo opportunities!
I responded to an add selling cabbage. I was asked to call a phone number to place my order. I called the number, left my name, the numbers of lbs I wanted, and gave the pick up date and time, which I was told worked great (I gave 5 days notice). I showed up today to pick up my order as I was passing by on my Way to teach in Edmonton. When I arrived, I was told I was in the right place and they would check for my order after helping another group. The staff helped them and then began to help another group. She motioned that she would again help me after the next group. I indicated that I had somewhere to be and I would prefer not to wait. So, the staff went off to look for my order. I was brought out a different type of cabbage than I had ordered and I explained that I had ordered the specific cabbage that I wanted. The staff disappeared again (I waited 15 minutes) and can't back to tell me that the other cabbage was fine for what I was doing and that they could go harvest the cabbage while I waited. I explained that I needed the type of cabbage that I had ordered and that I had called a days ahead of time because I would be passing by at a certain time on my way to work. Her response was oh okay. No "I'm sorry we didn't have your order ready" no "I'm sorry we didn't call you to let you know that we couldn't fill your order and so you wouldn't have to drive 30 min out of your way". Unfortunately, I can't recommend the service. Even a very basic apology would have changed my opinion in that moment.
We took he kids on a school field trip to this location, it was great. Everyone, including the parents, had a lot of fun
Nice place to have a good time with family. Your wee little ones will really enjoy it
Fun even in winter :)
Had my company Christmas party here it was really fun and entertaining
I love Prairie Gardens. I chaperoned my sons school field trip there yesterday and we all had so much fun. The staff there are amazing and friendly.
We love this place.
Great place to bring young kids. Lots to see and do.
We recently hosted our daughters 3rd birthday here (February) and I have zero regrets ! We had a deluxe theme party and three had more actives planned for the children then we had energy for ! No one was ever board and the visit to the baby lambs was the icing on the cake . They had multiple different crafts set up on our arrival, as well as a lovely person helping with everything we needed. Can't wait to do this again with my youngest in June ! Great value for the day we had. Thanks Prarie gardens !
Had an amazing experience. The staff went out of their way to make the day special. Can't wait to go back.
Prairie Gardens is a great place to go to get your veggies, and a wonderful place for some family fun. They have a U-Pick and a Community Supported Agriculture garden with lots of workshops and hands on activities. They have festivals all through the year and a corn maze during the summer to navigate. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Always something for the kids to do! They have a souvenier shop that is full of all kinds of neat things and a candy store with some great fudge available for sale. My favourite is the pumpkin festival. You can take a tour through the corn maze and then ride the bus over to the farm where you can enjoy a great lunch with a slice of pumpkin pie! There is always a balloon artist on hand that has an inventive sculpture every year and there to make balloon animals for the kids. Even as an adult, I love the petting zoo. Goats, Llamas and bunnies to pet. They have peacocks and other animals as well that are great to watch, but not open to the public. If you want a different activity to do for a gathering of friends or a birthday party, they have firepits that you can reserve for your activities. The only thing that I don't enjoy about the visits is the "tokens". You need to go and purchase tokens to be able to collect your food items at the different concession stands. I don't remember having to do this when we went last year. All in all, a great way to support your local farmers!
Awesome great place for kids and family
We loved the animals and the kids corn maze
I would have given five stars; but I recommend they put in a wood floor in the wedding tent versus the dirt floor currently.
A wonderful place! Tam and the team love what they are doing and it shows! Fruit and veggies are delicious. It is a treat every time.
This place is amazing! Went with the family, lots of corn mazes, petting zoo and more! Spent 3 hours here and it still wasn't enough time to do everything! Will be going back! They also have a fresh veggies market with zucchini, yellow beans, beet leaves, cucumbers, potatoes and more!
Our family went for a few hours on Saturday. The kids enjoyed themselves even though it was raining for a while. I thought the story teller that took us on an adventure through the Enchanted Forest did a great job at keeping their attention ☺ I was disappointed though because of the high admission fee. Thank you to the nice people who gave us the coupons to get the kids in for free, bless you!
Went for farm days. Not bad considering it was free. Corn maze and sunflower mazes were good. Benny's bread was there selling their baked goods. The bread was good except they need to work on their customer service. I was standing there for a long time and there were no other customers and they were ignoring me and didn't seem like they wanted my business.
Queue banjo music....
Great place for kids and baby's. Lots of mini attractions and cool petting zoo. Great for weddings and berry picking
What a waste of $20. This place is so worn down and dirty. Zero maintenance. The mazes are extra boring and should be called ‘path thru poor crops’. Even my 5yr old didn’t want to go thru the 3rd one because it was ‘too boring’. I felt bad for the few animals that have to live here
Great family fun!
I am annoyed at the line up. I asked if I needed to upgrade my admission ticket for any reason. Told it wasn’t necessary. Walk right in. Go to the petting animal area. Surprise, can’t get in! I need to upgrade my admission. I get to wait in line again. Angry…
Have been going here over 20 years with my family and have always enjoyed it
Awsome farm geared towards family plenty to do for kids including train ride. Theatre corn maze fresh farm food. Pettig zoo. Will come again next year.
If you want to have a fun day, got to visit this place before fall, by the end of September their corn maze its just no fun anymore, way too dry and muddy.
Very nice farm, very nice property and the people that work here for the most part are great. But I do not feel like this is good value for what you spend. On top of getting in for $20 a person, the food and drinks are expensive, and the pumpkin patch was also quite pricey. My wife and I bought two very small pumpkins and after the two $5 coupons we had, we still had to pay $6. We were told it was $1 per pound, but when we got home the pumpkins weighed 8lbs. They don't really show you what the weight is when they weigh so who knows if it was zeroed correctly, we just took their word for it. It left a bad taste in our mouths and I doubt we'll ever go back here.
good place to go
Great opportunity to get out and get some fresh air. Played everyone right out.
We just went for a cold picnic by the fire, and a play in the corn maze. It was freezing, but lots of fun too! We'll definitely be back. Save room or skip breakfast as the portions for the picnic were generous.
Abundance of activities to keep the children entertained all day
Was great fun with the kids. I highly recommend the doing the guided tour first. Learning about how all the different vegetables grow was great. Super fun.
What a missed opportunity! Everything looked a little run down and dirty. Food was limited to rubber-like hotdogs and ice cream. Recommend that you pack your own picnic basket to enjoy the fresh farm air...
A cute day trip, with a variety of things to do (lots of old playground equipment), but the place is looking pretty run down- a little TLC could go a long way here. Might choose to go back during special event days instead.
Always a super fun place for the family. Corn maze, pumpkin painting, pumpkin smashing, train ride and scarecrow building! Fun for the whole family!
Nice atmosphere for the kids. But you can definitely tell that the place is starting to get run down. The kids don't notice it though.
There was no attempt to control people here. We waited for the train, only to be pushed in front of 2 consecutive times. Food, while good, was overpriced.
For the city folk who want to experience rural life; this is a great little place. Our guide "Steven" was so awesome. Great with kids too! Baby animals to snuggle, bouncy critters to ride and a train tour around the farm is a great way to spend the day!
Fun place for kids. But there are no clean washrooms. Some facilities are also quite old and in need of renovation.
Great family friendly fun with a healthy dose of fresh air.
An absolute waste of money and time. My 7yr old grandson called the haunted pumpkin festival "kind of lame". So many rude and self entitled people, decrepit displays, and desperate vendors hoping to part you from even more money. I will never return.
Loved it there, really felt like Autumn, everyone was super friendly, cant wait to go again!
I felt very welcome and had a wonderful evening with our group.
So much fun
Great place with awesome staff... Shoulda have better washrooms though...
Very kid friendly but not much activities for adults.
Unique place to when in the area. I would advise calling in advance to make sure the farm is fully open, as every one was away doing strawberry picking when we were there.
A family favorite!
The best place to take kids in the summer and fall. The long table dinners they have are over the top amazing and the most amazing and accommodating staff.
Nice place not cheap
A fun time for the family. Kids loved it.
Awesome!
Very nice family garden to visit
What an amazing experience and customer service second to none! The selection is incredible and I have never experienced such variety. Everyone was so helpful, kind, well stocked, and when i mentioned that I was looking for watermelon seeds they quickly got me two different kinds of watermelon starters. We picked up our new four baby chicks and it is a bright spot in our families life these days. Prairie Gardens has my highest recommendation to any home gardener and they would have 10 stars if I could give them.
What an amazing place with so many fun things to do and see! A real treat for the family, or perhaps all ages. Haunted house, pumpkin events, train ride, petting zoo, corn maze, drum circles.... You should check it out!
Great fun for the whole family! Lots to do for kids of all ages, including toddlers. Be sure to go early because it gets crowded late in the afternoon. If you go to overflow parking because it is busy, there is a free shuttle to bring you to Prairie Gardens, stroller and all. Dress for the weather and if it has rained, be sure to wear boots as it can get muddy.
Lots of activities for kids and families. Awesome
So disappointed with our visit. They had barely any animals and all of the kids structures seem to be in disrepair.
Nice place to visit
Prairie Gardens is a wonderful family spot. They have been able to get creative in order to keep the gates open and have families safely enjoy their time onsite.
Great cosy place. Good community
What a fun place for all ages! Lots for kids to see. My child didn't want to leave even after 3 hours.
What an amazing place to visit! Definitely place to take kids out for a whole day.
Staff were not very friendly.
Not worth it! I went in today and was very disappointed. Admission is very expensive for what they offer (paid almost 50$ for a family of 3). Not many animals, a few other activities, some play structures in disrepair. it's an OK place but not worth the drive and $.
Great time! Awesome tour for My Son's Kindergarten class! Thanks!
So much fun and educational (I was on a field trip with my kinder class). They have been fixing the place up year by year. They are a little slow to email back when organising the trip.
Can't wait to go back this year ! Fall can't come fast enough . Love this place so much used to be my favorite as a kid and it's awesome to go there as an adult and see how much it's grown and how amazing kids still go there . Keeping the yearly traditions going
We visited during the fall and the place was really fun! Pumpkin patches, two corn mazes, lots to do with children. Public parking was two fields away but they had two school busses to move everyone between the parking area and main areas. There is so much here to do - food, gifts, petting zoo, kiddie train, with all sorts of fun activities. A great family afternoon.
Such a great place to go with kids. For the price I would like to see more diversity in activities from year to year.
We had a delicious picnic in August. While pretty much everything was closed, we got to enjoy the sunflower maze and pumpkin patch. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Thank you for a nice family outing!
Great place for a family visit. Bring your own food and drink as the establishment charges an arm and a leg for refreshments. Only reason it didn't get 4 stars.
Always a good time! My most recent trip was to get pumpkins for thanksgivings (and to stock up for halloween) a bit of a drive but I love supporting local! Staff are friendly and prices are reasonable
Went vegetable picking just before fall, excellent experience
Super helpful and friendly. Great visit.
Fantastic place to take little kids. Bank on a 2 hour time limit for a 3 year old.
Awesome!
Nice place but extremely icy/slippery, my whole family slipped and fell down at varying points during our visit. My suggestion would be, put gravel on all slippery areas.
We've done two private dinners here; one pizza party during bad weather, one five course during great weather. Both were no less than outstanding. Delicious and memorable. Fantastic setting, individual attention and accommodating and friendly staff. Gilbert's tomatoes are off the charts good. You won't go wrong here.
First time for me. Made family fun day a success. Forgot gloves and thankfully they had a store that sold some! General store. Ice cream Food Fun for kids.
One of your favourite corn mazes to go in Autumn. There are many great activities for small children. Dress warm if the day is chilly, as you will be outdoors most of the time.
Personally, not a big fan. It's a muddy farm of sorts, with a petting zoo, corn mazes and few other lame activities.
Awesome!
nice place
Family time fun time
Took my GF on a date to the farm today and honestly was not the best. We love scavenger hunts and activities but everything was so disorganized. There were activities from weeks ago still sitting out that added to the confusion with the scavenger hunt. We knew going so late in the season that the mazes would be worn out and wilted. It was the last day of the season and it just looked like they had given up. Everything looks like it is in such disrepair and this place needs to be spruced up before I would consider coming back.
Great place for little kids!
Great Place to take kids for various activities, my daughter always enjoys the themed events.
Excellent family experience. Grandsons really like seeing brand new bunnies
Fun for the kids. Nice haunted house.
I've been here more than a dozen times. Great place for a day with the kids .
Lots for a family to do, though it can be a real mess if the ground is wet. The close parking lot needs at least awd preferably 4x4 as it is very muddy.
I went with my daughter on a field trip. Staff were friendly and the grounds were pretty well maintained but there wasn’t much to keep kids interested for more than 60-90 minutes. There is a park, a small petting zoo, a few different corn mazes, a pretty lame (but intense at one spot) haunted house, a tractor train ride, and then a lot of random things scattered throughout to keep kids busy for a few minutes. Also, the only public washrooms are porta-potties.
Such an amazing idea, perfect for a getaway with the kids. The corn maze, duck pond, petting zoo and berry farm are great experiences for the little ones. The train ride is awesome too. The place needs a bit more organization though, it looks messy, cluttered and unkempt at times. With so many people visiting, you would think more staff would be available to assist with the general clean up and organizing. Special events like puppet theatre, haunted house, barn dances, live music bands bring excitement and enrich the experience. More of these would be greatly appreciated!
Went out today with the family & friends. Extremely disappointed. The place is terribly ran down, and there was no direction of where or what to do. We got to walk around a run down farm, and a train ride for $17 per adult. The four parks feel like they are falling apart. We did get an $8 pumpkin for free with the $5 voucher that comes with your ticket. ????????♀️ disappointed and won’t be going back.
Fantastic place for family fun!
We had a great time with the kids. This place has a bunch of stuff to do for everyone. They have hay rides, pumpkin/ vegetable picking, play grounds to climb on, different animals to see, etc. It's also well decorated and the staff are super nice!
This place is not as advertised.. yes theres plenty of games but all are non functioning in one way or another.. from broken basketball nets to worn out equipment..its completely run down and a disappointment.. the corn maze was so over run with weeds and thistle that its impossible to access it. One nice thing was the face painting...staff were pleasant and friendly but clearly this place hasnt been up kept in many years...the animals were ok but clearly there not as advertised...price was ok at 5 a person..
Good little area outside the city for your little one. Good picture spot.
Awesome place to pick strawberries ???? ????????they were very friendly and helpful .u pick your the best !!
Super friendly staff with great arrangement of fun little farm activities!
Family had a great time. Looks like an awesome place to hold a wedding or event.
My son had his wedding here. The owners and workers are so friendly and did everything they could to make the day perfect. It is a great place for a family to have a day out
Great new experience. Our little one enjoyed every single moment there, so did we. U-pick, train ride, gem mining and much more. All were AMAZING. I want to special thank the young lady who was with us during picking up the veggies❤️
This place is need of serious maintenance. A lot of items where broken and in bad shape.
Great place to bring kids, the staff were all passionate about the facility and or your if the garden was the highlight.
Awesome place for the whole family.
Kitschy fun for kids. There's u pick strawberries, ice cream and produce.
Everything was pretty good. The admission is a little pricey. Overall we enjoyed ourselves.
Fantastic place for the family, the staff is super helpful and friendly too.
Great staff, lots of fun, LOTs of fun things to do, but around the edge of the yard is lots of junk
Awesome. My son and his class had an amazing well organized fun.
Great place to go in the fall, lots of activities for everyone!
Nice place to visit for family and kids.
They have the most adorable and kind costumers service since you call and ask for availability in the stock. They are so attentive and knowledgable. See it for yourself ????????????????????????
We had a blast with our 2 year old! Small petting "zoo" with some goats and sheep (plus the staff were taking out bunnies to hold). Chickens, turkeys, and pot-belly pigs were unfortunately not available to interact with but cool to watch! A few different jungle gyms and slides and stuff. A rubber duck race set-up, a little corral with some bouncy toys that our kid couldn't get enough of. 2 sunflower mazes and a couple hay bale mazes for smaller kids, and a full corn maze for older people! Train rides, a small trail with some sound-makers, and a gorgeous little area in the front with some small buildings for a general store, fudgery, pumpkins, a hot dog tent, ice cream, etc. There's another area with a dress-up photo booth, shooting gallery, prospecting "mine" to get some semi-prescious stones, and an awesome garden that doesn't use any pesticides where everything is edible, even the flowers! Let's not forget a small stall with their locally grown produce. We had fun for the price, and will definitely be coming back.
Nice place, but make sure you go on a day when they don't have reservations. It isn't open to the public Tuesday-Thursday, buy only open for reservations.
Have been here many times with my kids on field trips and everytime it's so much fun, we will keep going back for more and more fun, the owners of the farm are such good people and there is so much to do and see, everytime I go back there is something new to see
Very dirty and disorganized. There is no flow to the grounds and everything is falling apart.
I've been here 3 years in a row with my child. This year, you could see some of the lustre coming off the place. Wait times in the shop of 20 minutes for a $15 pumpkin just about did me in. The playgrounds are looking old, animals are few and far in between now, and it really just feels like a field with some stuff in it.
Great, fun, friendly place if you're looking for a few hours to spend with your Children/Grandchildren and while still getting some exercise and fresh air.
It's quite fun. They had a really neat Christmas/winter set up. The snowball fight with styrofoam balls was really fun. My kids loved the crafts and kittens. The major downfall was that it was so incredibly slippery by all the main buildings that 3/4 of us fell really bad. All it would take is to put gravel down. Thankfully noone broke a bone. But they are really hurting.
What a place! I call it a mini heaven.
We went there for the first time last Sunday and, honestly, we were sooo happy with our experience! First, the place is super family friendly. All members of staff that we met were really friendly and welcoming. It was also fun to bring back home a little succulent and some local gelato. Even with all the covid measures that were in place, we still managed to have a great experience. We will be coming back to this place for sure! I highly recommend it!
Always love our visits here! So much to see and do and the staff are fantastic!
Amazing
Long table dinner. The food was excellent service was top notch. Beautiful farm supplying fresh produce to amazing restaraunts
We visited the farm in mid October so our expectations weren't high. Yet we were still kinda disappointed. I think perhaps the admission should be adjusted in later year as you don't get the same experience you would in summer. About the food, the pumpkin muffin was inedible. It was super dry, dense and bland. Maybe it was a bad batch... I did like the mango passion fruit geleto, it was very tasty.
We showed up at 10. We hoped to beat the crowds however were very disappointed that the Corn Canyon didn't even open til noon and the face painter was still not on site as of 1115am. If we pay admission ($45 for two adults and a 5 year old), we expect everything to be out and ready. Very disappointed.
Great family time , friendly staff, good selection of food and activities.Would defentely recommend to family and friends.????
We went here over Easter for the first time and loved it! We ended up buying an annual pass and intend on returning often. We have 2 teens and one 5 year old and everyone found something fun to do.
Loved a “Under the Stars” evening at Prairie Gardens I went to last night which included “Farm to Fork’ dinner, bonfires & U of A astronomy students with telescopes lot see the stars . There as lecture on fantastic black holes and where to find them. The dinner was amazingly delicious. Everything was wonderful! Make and take Herb rub was a nice! touch. I would just like to add how wonderful the staff was. They took great care and made the evening fun. It was simply magical.
We love coming here. The people that work here are very passionate about what they do. They were very patient and accommodating for our large group. We had them cater our lunch and it was fantastic. Will go back again for sure.
I will try again and see if they have done anything better
It's worth the drive, kids had lots of fun.
Great family fun!
Loved this place! And the man who was driving the train was hilarious and very nice to talk to!
My 3 year old son had a blast. To be honest if we had to pay the full price I would feel a bit gouged but there was a special price for August. Overall it is a really fun place for kids on the younger side. I can't really see older kids maybe 8+ having a great time. Staff were friendly.
Huge selection and really great service, also good prices
It was ok. We were there in the afternoon, most of the attractions was over but still paid full admission.
Interesting find
The mother's day brunch was much better my previous visit
Currently my son is too young to enjoy, I can not wait to take him when he's older
Super Pumpkin is my personal Hero! Also, great fall fun for families of all ages and stages!
Lots of fun things for the kids to do
Prairie Gardens offers a fun family experience with a number of in and out door activities. We attended a Christmas-themed weekend which included photos with Santa, Maple Taffy, marshmallow roasting, etcetera. I would be hard-pressed to spend more than 2 or 3 hours here but it's a great place to take the kids.
This place was a pleasant surprise, didn't realize the Praire Gardens had as much to offer as it does! Real country experience, kinda like a fair but without the crazy rides. Down to earth fun for the whole family! A little sprucing up of the buildings and washrooms would be ideal in the future as one mention. If you love supporting your local community go spend some money here!
What a cute gem just outside the city. Plan to spend at least a couple of hours and bring some snacks. There are plenty of things to do and see... loved our first visit and we'll definitely be back.
Very friendly and helpful staff. All of there plants look amazing
Absolutely loved our picnic afternoon. Amazing food and great staff
Great little place, lots of fun especially for their festival times
We love coming here :) We have brought our kids for 4 years now and we always look forward to it. All the people we met who work here were very friendly and fun to be around. The train conductor was hilarious and I saw him drive the train ride countless times and he never lost his upbeat happy attitude. The farm is so nice to walk around, lots of family vibes, you can tell they put a lot of thought into everything that is offered there. The little places to buy things are so nice, we always stop to stock up on fudge. The animals are very cute and you can tell they are well loved as they don’t hesitate to come over for a head scratch lol the goats tried to taste my sons mitten which he thought was hilarious ????. There is a lot to do and you could spend hours here, thank you to everyone on the farm for providing such a fun experience!!
To enjoy during the spring/summer
A great experience! It can be pricy if you go in a large group, but definitely worth the money for a full day experience. 2 or 3 hours is simply not enough time so pack a lunch or get some food from the little shops.
I take my son here every year and we both have a blast.
Love coming here every year! It has become one of our regular annual Halloween adventures. Great for kids
Thank you to the team who pull this all together to create an awesome experience for the whole family! Our kids had so much fun! Trains, pumpkin harvest, petting zoo, and more!! Worth the visit!
Staff was so helpful and friendly. There’s so much to do and all of us had a blast. Geared more towards smaller kids, but enough to keep adults entertained and having a good time. Little dress up room, haunted house, petting farm, little outdoor games, and the strawberry picking was good as well
Just visited for the first time and most likely my last. I was extremely disappointed with the farm. Everything was overrun, run down, broken down, the hay bale maze was just a torn up heap of hay, the petting zoo was barely that, you could pet a few goats and two sheep, otherwise everything else was in cages with signs stating the animals would bite...a few old slides and jungle gyms and a strange mixture of other "activities" for kids were hardly what I expected of this farm. Not worth the drive or the money. In addition to the lack of farm based fun, the website states that Monday, Friday and the weekends are for the general public and school groups and daycares are to be booked Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with that being said there were many large groups that had overrun the place by 11 am. For those in Edmonton, save yourself the time and visit Edmontons Valley Zoo instead, at least you can pet the animals at the urban zoo and you don't have to drive 30 min or more out of town.
Amazing experience, fun for the whole family.
My son had his wedding there. It's a neat place to visit. Had a really great time.
Not the most thrilling place for someone who grew up in the country. Definitely more for city people out to get a country feel. For the high admission price we expected a lot more to see and do. Would have been nicer to have more animals in the petting zoo. The potato cannon was pretty cool. Hay ride was alright. Maybe a better place to visit in the fall around Halloween? Not planning on returning here again.
Had a great time touring the gardens, and a great meal served in their green house was a one of a kind experience
Expensive to get in and then once you're everything costs extra inside. Portapotty are over flowing. No hand sanitizer anywhere around them.
Nice place to go with family.
First-time CSA participant. Really enjoying all of the veggies and fruits, especially the heirloom tomatoes. Large variety and high quality veggies every week. The farm had some issues initially with having products ready for pick-up, but they have all been sorted out now and the process is straightforward and smooth. Just purchased a winter CSA share since enjoying the summer one so much. Highly recommend to others.
I enjoyed it
Love prairie gardens! My kids can run and play and have lots of fun doing everything there. Lots of activities and the festivals are excellent. I've attended workshops as well and the owners and staff are very knowledgeable and helpful!
Lots of fun with little kids
Fun place to go with kids.
We took our 3 kids all under 5 and they had the time of their lives. So many things to do.
Had a blast and the chili is so good
Besides the mud everywhere it was a fantastic time!!
We liked it much more two years ago. for animal tour is separate ticket now. huge "jumbo" hot dog 7$ (kids hot dog, and just feve others choices like pie or bread) some stafe grumpy, some stafe super nice and helpfule.. maybe is better on weekend
(Translated) A fantastic place. We especially recommend the Haunted Pumpkin Festival. (Original) Fantastyczne miejsce. Szczególnie polecamy Haunted Pumpkin Festival.
Wonderful place for kids.
This place needs an overhaul. it seems like they started a bunch of little projects and never finished them/ maintained them. Great Potential here.. but right now everything is looks run down and dirty.
Went for mother's day brunch. It was good but the food could have been better. We went a few years ago and it was much better then
Wonderful place for kids, all the staff are there to ensure your children have a great time. Their puppet show was a very nice surprise and well done.
Say hi to Boomerang, she's a month old.
My family did the Prairie Gardens picnic, farm tour and gem mining. Wow! We had a fantastic day!! The picnic lunch was phenomenal! European meats, cheese, very classy and so much food nobody could finish. I can't express how delicious and exquisite the lunch was! My picky kids loved it, too. The staff was so absolutely accommodating and first class professional. Out tour was outstanding and the fellow in gem mining made it so fun. I went expecting ok and got absolutely amazing!! Do book this for the summer. I was so impressed by the experience.
Very fun! Kids loved it!
Fun for the whole family.
Already in the parking lot I was confused in where to go, no signs explaining anything! However I proceeded through the entrance and noticed an older lady answering another couples questions. I politely waited until they had finished their conversation while still at one point during this time gained eye contact with her as a sign that I also needed some guidance. She left into the building behind her without even looking at me. I didn't think much more of that and followed her inside where I was able to gain her attention. I politely explained that this was my first time picking a pumpkin and asked on how to proceed. She told me that I could choose any pumpkin I wanted in the house or outside. Easy enough, I found my two that I liked at went pack to see her at the front desk. Since I'm European and don't know much about this I asked her how could I tell if they where good ones. She answered me in a sassy way that -If they look orange I guess. Not the answer I was looking for and I asked if I chosen the right type of pumpkin for what I was planning to do within them. Once again another sassy answer, she truly made me feel like an idiot! I will not return next year! I don't care for this kind of behaviour and I hope that this review is taken seriously by the management at Praire Garden.
So much family fun
We went on Saturday and it was a terrible experience. We arrived about a 1/2 hr after opening and besides the cheerful person that took our 75$ entrance fee that was the only help we had. It was quite cold on Saturday, so we decided to make the best of the visit and were hoping for at least a train ride. We inquired from a staff member when it would start, she said they were short staffed and after she did the puppet show then maybe she could get it going?? We proceeded to spend some time playing with the kids then went and sat at the train station with multiple other families when 2 staff members walked by and didn't stop to say anything or offer to go get the keys or find someone to drive. Finally after waiting!!! we got off and headed to some of the greenhouses to see what was there? Never did find the puppet show, lady in gift shop said that there was face painting, popcorn and hot chocolate next door.Face painting didn't start til 1200 and there was no popcorn or hot chocolate either, didn't see a person in there. We were never greeted anywhere we went. We were sad to see ALL the water for the petting zoo animals was frozen over as well. Nothing sadder then a chicken pecking at a frozen water bucket! Charging 15$ for a 3 yr old and 19$ for adults is too much for what is offered. Feeling very disappointed and ripped off.
Had a tour today was fantastic! Our guide Emily Was great with kids and other staff is kind and helpful. If you’re looking for a family funday with kids it’s a great experience. Some things could use a fresh coat of paint and spruced up but over all looking better and better than the last time I went with my 5 year old ! Great environment for kids. Petting farm , jem mine, tractor tour and puppet show are great for interaction with the kids. 100% recommend.
Were out in May to view for a fall wedding. There is lots to do and Tam and her staff are super friendly and accommodating
Last July our daughter was married at Prairie Gardens. It was a fun filled day and stress free because of the professional staff who were so helpful from the beginning stages of ceremony locations and banquet choices, continuing to be helpful and cooperative through the planning and on to the actual day. Staff was courteous, efficient and at the same time "invisible" throughout the day. They were attentive to the details and pending weather conditions so that we had the best day possible. The banquet meal was absolutely scrumptious and plentiful. They also catered to special diet needs which was much appreciated. The Adventure Farm itself was a highlight for our guests as they mingled between ceremony and banquet, enjoying the sunshine at picnic tables, and tasting the lemonade and ice cream etc. that was provided. A huge thank you to Kelly and Tam and your staff for making this day such a happy memorable day for all of us. Judy and Ron Hoefling
So fun and wholesome, such attention to detail. We have been going here for years and years and we always have a nice time
Amazing food drinks and entertainment great night and experience
We were so disappointed with our visit today. I remember just loving coming here two years ago and hoping for a similar experience. We also visited last year, but knew the major COVID restrictions would change things. However, this year it felt like there was even less to do than 2020. The prices have increased, you have to pay extra to even see the animals up close, the buildings are so run down now they're losing their charm and you can't even go inside and explore or play in any of them. There were no staff around to help us that we couldn't even pay for the first hour, couldn't pay for our ice cream until we were half way through eating it, and I gave up on buying vegetables because there was no one around to pay for them! The train ride was adorable and there are cute aspects to it, but I sadly will be taking it off of my recurring summer to do lists for the future.
Good friendly , nice people. Explained all details. Expensive but their time, explanation and courtesy are valuable.
We had an amazing time at the "Falloween Festival" and had a great time going through the corn maze. There was a variety of activities and it was really well sone! The characters walking around we're very funny and our 3 year old had fun participating and I am sure older kids would have had fun as well!
We didn’t know of the “not open to public on weekdays” rule, yet we still received admission for the farm. We felt very unwelcomed, but were confused as to why! After inquiring about why the train was running for day camp groups and not the rest of us that were waiting, the staff member mentioned to us that weekends are for the public and weekdays are open to school groups, etc. They ended up accommodating us and allowing us a train ride which was appreciated. Still overall was not a positive first experience which was partially our fault for not researching on your website properly, but perhaps that rule of not being open to the public should be enforced at the gate instead of allowing people entry.
Super fun for all ages they have farm animals, trian rides and mini corn maze for the kiddos
Loved it. ..very different ...fun filled activities on a true farm
My favourite farm in Edmonton!
My nephews loved it
AMAZING! Me and my (extended) family went this weekend. Ages from 1-51, everyone enjoyed themselves, the animals in the petting zoo were super friendly, the train conductor was really good, there are so many activities and the zombie balloon artist was AMAZING. He takes a little longer than most, but it's totally worth it, because his balloon creations are fantastic and so much better than any others I've ever seen. Totally worth the price
This is a wonderful place regardless of your age! Unfortunately the day that we went it was quite muddy but they were doing their best to put straw or shavings down to control the mud. They had great free activities for the kids, a Haunted House and a very talented Mime in front of the Haunted House who was very entertaining for both young and old. The Mime was hilarious! He took a banana peel from us and an hour later he remembered who we were and returned it to us. If I could I'd give him 10+ ????'s!! Please bring him back next year!
Friendly, very knowledgeable.
Good for little kids. My 13 year old wasn't so thrilled
Lots of fun for famlies! There's so much tondo with the petting zoo, train rides, corn mazes, puppet shows pumpkin patches, fudge and ice cream, and so many things for kids to play on...and we didn't even get to everything in our two hour adventure. You can pack a lunch or buy one there. It's a great spot.
It was lovely! The flowers they're selling are beautiful and we had a go at the gem mine. You can sift through the soil to get pretty stones. Perfect for a 5 year old. The lady was also very informative about which gems my eldest was sifting out so we learned a lot. It's a pity it isn't fully open because of covid. You can book appointments through their website for the petting zoo.
Great place to take the family.
A fun place to visit, kids liked the magic show, corn maze, playing on drums, petting animals, and other activities.. definitely worth the drive from southwest!
We went there in the esterdday. It was good, But if you want to enjoy there whole day, Summer is the best time. Kids will enjoy the magic show also all pet animals touch and feel.
Not that much to do paid 30 to pet some goats and play on old dirty play structures.
Great place to work it gives you a positive feeling as soon as you get there. See you there.
60 dollars to take my family here no parking finally get in the pumpkins are tiny, the corn maze is 2 ft tall hard to get lost for the peice they charge maybe they could afford to water things so it grows.
I love the farm and all the improvement they have done. I always have a great time with my kids
Great atmosphere for a fall harvest/Halloween event
Worst $60 bucks ever spent. The entire area is old, worn down, dirty, and disorganized! Wouldnt even be worth it if it was free.
Awesome for kids. So much to see and do. Could use a little more TLC. Things are starting to get date on no up keep our touch ups done in anything. We loved the petting zoo, Train ride and the parks. So much to see. It is busy on weekends though.
This is our second year visiting the pumpkin patch and Halloween festival and it gets better every time. This year we had pumpkin curry and it was the most delicious dish I've had in along time, and my one year old loved it too x Fabulous family place, I would highly recommend this.
Such a fun place for little kids. An all day excursion. There was a train ride, hay mazes, corn mazes, a cute town to explore, food, pumpkins. Basically everything Halloween you could think of.
Awesome place that we keep coming back throughout the year over the years. Just bought our first annual pass, really don't know why we didn't earlier. Good family for a family of any age and size.
Lots of fun. Impressive grounds.
I have no idea where these reviews are coming from. Spend your time and money elsewhere seriously. The staff were nice enough but the place itself is completely run down despite hundreds/thousands of people spending $15.00 bucks pop for admission for years plus trinkets/tokens. You know that junk pile every family has behind their garage/shed/house that has scrap pieces of wood from old projects, maybe parts to an old bunk bed, a snowman decoration from the 1960's and a bucket of rusty nails? It's like they took that pile multiplied it by a factor of 10 and used it to construct the park.
So disappointed with the Mother's Day brunch. Food was not good. Many of the advertised activities were not available. Not at all what we were expecting.
I had a terrible experience here. Parking is terrible, we were directed over to the overflow parking, there was no shuttle or way to get over to the main area. I was told to just wait around for half an hour and drive over and see if there was parking available. Luckily we found some parking closer. The whole area is just very confusing. We couldn't find the admission, or really anything for that matter, very confusing layout. Lines for everything were extremely long, probably 45min for the cafe. Finally got to the main maze area, the sunflower maze was tiny. The corn maze, or what we could find, was also tiny. The corn was dead, you could see through everything so it was not much of a maze. They had 3 port a potties, 2 of which I went in, were so full I couldn't even sit down if I wanted to. Just overall bad experience, spent $60 on tickets for basically nothing, would definitely not recommend.
This place is super expensive and not enjoyable for most kids. Everything is an additional fee and very expensive. It's a cool atmosphere but extremely over priced and not worth it. They should lower the prices.
Very cool place, the kids all had fun
Love it
We would like to thank the Prairie Gardens & Adventure Farm team for having us at the farm on June 4th, 2019 for all-day event. Hospitality, atmosphere, food, activities and staff dedication to serve our group were just awesome. Kids were excited almost about everything. We will be definitely coming back to the farm for more events in the future.
Great family fun. My kids love going here.
Great fresh produce and fruit!
So cool, and so much to do.
Cute, fun place.
Great place to go, with or without kids. Entertainment is always fun and good quality. The food and beverages are outrageous. Paid $7 for a farmer sausage on a bun that was not even 4” long. They could not even get my beverage right. Asked for Diet Pepsi, got regular. When I asked for the correct one, they argued with me about what was ordered. Even though they wrote down that it was diet. Go visit. Check it out. Just don’t eat or drink anything there.
Great place overall. My only complaint - pumpkins are ridiculously expensive. We paid $48 for 3 medium sized and 3 palm sized onces, so be ware of that. Other than that - we had great times!
Really expensive!
18 per person for somethimg that was just kinda thrown together and not having a theme to it. Plus than paying another up to $25 for a pumpkin, doesn't make much sense to go pay almost $45 for a single pumpkin.
We go here every year for their sunflower and corn maze. This year we went to purchase new plants and trees for our garden. Amazing customer service, very friendly and knowledgeable. Laurel was amazing she answered every question I had and helped me pick out the perfect orchard package. I cannot wait until they can open fully again and we can enjoy all the farm has to offer!
great time for the family
Great fun for the family, and everyone, with a pleasant atmosphere.
Super cute place to visit. My son loved the petting zoo and all the slides. Great place for a day out.
