I recommend Elsafadi Mediterranean Supermarket, Edmonton, Alberta - Canada imported foods from all over the Middle East and Mediterranean Excellent service
The Best walah
Well organized and the cashier was so sweet and friendly!
Good prices on fresh veggies
He have evre thing you need it
I took a Mediterranean cooking class. As part of the class we were given a tour of this place. We got to sample a lot of their deli offerings. All the food was fresh, and tasted amazing. One of the owners conducted the tour he was very passionate and knowledgeable. There variety of products and customer service was amazing. Highly recommended.
Lots of selections Delicious pastry
Very good and cheap place for vegetables and fruits. Has the best variety of dates and miscellaneous middle eastern products and halal meat.
I visited Elsafadi Mediterranean Store today. It was amazing. Store was tidy, clean and neat display. This was the first time to visit since 2010. I had a chat with the owner. He was so kind and assured me that everything in Store is 100% Halal. Well done guys. Cashier was so nice. I would like to thank the staff for their great job.
Amazing store mashallakh good stuff
Good variety of items but extremely small and confined. The parking lot is a disaster, always! Staff could use training in respecting customer and being politer with even just a smile simply during cashing-out!
The cheese and pickles are the best.
Absolutely the worst experience... I have been shopping here for years but it seems that there is no more customer service. I was standing at the deli counter for over 10 minutes while two staff behind the counter were chatting. I looked …
You can't find all things you want,
Good place always have what you need at a competitive price
Great variety of foods. Reasonable prices
All new management, newly renovated. Always fresh baked products daily, fresh produce . low prices . Friendly owners.
I love this place best olives best corned beef
Love it especially for Arabian food spices
Bought pita bread and some Zaatar here and came home to find out that the bread had mold. The zaatar also tasted weird, it was not fresh. Like a lot of the reviews here say, they are deceiving customers by selling expired food items. The meat from their deli is also of subpar quality and not fresh.
Excellent place to shop arabic grocery. Very helpfull and friendly staff. Very reasonable price produce. Yummy fatayer.
I thought when I moved to Canada that I will not jve access to what I use to have back home but I was pleasantly shocked coming to this store. The only disappointment with all Mediterranean stores is they are all small stores that need and …
Nice staff
Too expensive if you are actually going to shop
Great baklava
Fair prices.
Cheap n best
Really nice place to visit on the North Side. Clean and helpful, we enjoy purchasing houlomi cheese and kafta for the bbq. The chicken shawarma is good too!
Great place to purchase produce! They also offer 2 different brands of pita bread baked daily.
Family run business. Excellent service and specialty selection.
Great grocery and produce, friendly staff!
Friendly staff and a great selection of foods I've never even heard of! I keep finding exciting new things to try every time I'm in!
Amazing food options. Great layout of meat shop. Baked shop, and cheese area.
Friendly people and good prices
Everything you need from a mediterranean store.
Great pastries, fresh bread , a variety of cheeses and always fresh vegetables and fruits
My second visit to this place. Their produce looks great and they have a great selection of Mediterranean products as well
This is a go to place for affordable veggies and fruits. They also carry a wide assortment of Mediterrean and Arabic foods. Not everything has a price mark, so it might be a guessing game. It is still better price than big chain stores.
Ww Love this store. Great service and products. May God bless them more and more everyday ????.
Your store is number 1 and the best. regarding products and the service and and communication with customers is excellent.i love to shop at your store evry day and I just move there abut a week a go already 4 times I did shopping.the prices are rely good too.i loved it keep up the good work ???????????????????????? ????????????
Wonderful store different culture and good price. Friendly people
The best
Good variety of Arabic groceries
This is the smaller of their two markets along 113a st/Castledowns Rd. It's small and cramped with cheap produce BUT you better be using it in a couple of days - eg. the "on sale" peppers are always soft and withering and apples starting to soften and I really get the impression these are the hand me downs from the big store up the road. Nothing wrong with that. Their selections of Mediterranean sundries is great (olives!)
Different arabic food stuff. Review your receipt before leaving the store ????
Always has fresh produce and a great variety of yummy food. Staff are very helpful. Fun place to shop for exotic foods
Great selection. Always greeted by friendly staff. Deli and cheese selection is fantastic.
Covid-19 public health measures not being followed. Staff no waring mask appropriately, the store is packed with people last few times I went.
I buy some of my Mediterranean import foods from here.
Excellent service. Variety of Mediterranean products. ALL Halal
Love this store! Hummus is divine...
Too bad
It was the first time I purchased and tasted fresh dates (light-green or yellowish) before they darken and become ripe. There are more groceries both local and Mediterranean available in this store.
The stuff are very aware and very helpful and positive I recommend going there
Best place for middle eastern herbs and spices. Has pretty much everything you need.
It’s good map
Very nice hijaby cashier, and has nice collection of middle eastern groceries and stuff. A little pricey though!!
Friendly People, honesty, dropped a wallet with $ 800 dollars I come back I find everything as it was I am grateful for that thank you ! Elsafadi.
I love the fresh baked goods and large selection of flatbreads. The baklava and the mana'ish are exceptional. They also make diabetic-friendly baklava, which often needs to be ordered ahead of time. My mom insists on some every time she comes to Edmonton.
Love this place
All the middle-eastern food supplies you'd think of & more
Wonderful, found everything I needed.
Helpful staff, nice n friendly.
Everything is good and very good quality
Nice place. Friendly staff. Fresh vegetables and fruits
Great store for shopping
Love you guys! Delicious bakery products, cheap and delicious meat and a lovely grocery store. My favorite!!
There is all the Arabic food
This (middle eastern) place deserves the 5 stars because its a very unique and helpful place you can actually find what ever you’re looking for in this store.i wish i had pictures but too bad I don’t :(
Be careful people at the cashier. The girl there saw i had lots of stuff added 3 dollars on my bill for things i didn't buy. I noticed when i revised the receipt later at home.
Always will be one of my favourite grocery stores. Huge selection of imported food and can almost always count on having certain brands in stock that you can’t find anywhere else. Love love love!
I often go to this store to purchase produce as it is the most affordable by far! Apples are only 99 cents per pound! There is a lot of international items but also a very good selection of domestic goods. Selections of breads and deli items is impressive. Store is very crowded with shelves and you can't pass people in rows.
There is Arabic food and everything you need
Wonderful range of food products, and excellent customer care. Keep up the great work..
All things Mediterranean. Love this place for its fresh food and good selection of fruits and vegetables. We always get the Tzatiki, Dolma (grape leaves)and Fatayar made fresh by Elsafadi. Fresh cheese and olives at the Deli bar are great. …
Whatever you need for your tummy can be found here
I used to work and live nearby and I went all the time. I love their feta and akawi cheese and prosciutto meat! I have driven all the way from Millwoods to get it. I wish they opened a store on the south side! Produce is usually better value than chain grocery stores. I definitely miss being close to this store.
Everything good
Good selection of Middle Eastern produce. Biggest ME market I’ve been to in Alberta. Prices are lower than other places I’ve seen.
Very nice store. Waheed is an awesome salesman. Impressed by customer service.
They're family owned and treat there customers with a smile and greeting always. They've been around for almost 40 yrs from tables in a Strip mall to several locations. A great place to find cheaper produce. And volume sales at a discount.
Good Baklava. Haven't tried anything else.
If I could give this place a zero star I would . I got Laham ajeen that tasted old and made my kids sick . Never will I go there again .
Lots of Mediterranean products. The deli section is large and have a big variety of preserved veggies and olives.
You find almost everything
Pretty cramped in there, but offer a ton of choices and good prices
The place could do with some organisation to make it easier to people to walk through the aisles freely.
The original ElSafadi is a little cramped and packed in, but it's the same "everything arabic" market with friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent selection of ethnic and western goods. Excellent service. I'll definitely make this a regular stop
Packed full of product at great prices
It the good place shop but you can see the difference between the prices in other places
Very nice store..it's loaded with stuff that we don't see anywhere else.
They make the best hummus in town. And they always have Sunbake pitas.
Great service good selection of food
Excellent fresh produce and very friendly service.
Elsadadi's is always great. Friendly atmosphere.
Wanted to go there for while but just didn't happen. Finally I was thier to get some pre made meat pies and lucky enough to get them. They were good.????
Produce is generally in rough shape however the rest of the product is good with good selection
THEY ARE NOT WEARING MASKS! Workers not wearing mask!
A great place to fine all Middle Eastern food and supplies… j recommend it to all
Good variety of legumes, fresh fruit, vegetable and date.
Its food is delicious and its staff are wonderful. I love its food very much
Excellent....all what you need with friendly care
The staff are really friendly and helpful. Some of the best prices on fruits and vegetables in the city.
All kinds of Arabic food from Deli to canned food, ver interesting herbs and spices, having herring and fesikh, all kinds of Arabic cheese and lebenah
Great store for middle eastern groceries. The Elsafadis are wonderful people.
Very good variety of different foods. And they even through in a free honeydew melon on my way out of the store
Love the atmosphere, fresh vegetables at a good price. I stop in to pick up the garlic paste, pita bread, yogurt and other deli delights.
Fruits and veggies are about 20 cents less than a grocery store like no frills, but the produce at Elsafadi tends to be a little old or bad, normal products like cans of beans from Sobey’s brand (Compliments) are very expensive like $2 more. One of the problems is that clients weren’t encouraged to wear masks, some employees had masks but they kept taking them off or simply had them at their chin. Also the store was too small and there were too many people crowding, and they weren’t keeping track of how many people entered. So they were VERY CARELESS regarding COVID-19. They should really enforce the rules with both employees and clients. Aside that it’s just a regular Mediterranean grocery store, has a few more products you wouldn’t find as commonly.
Best place to shop for anything and everything very comfortable .excellent staff Very homely words cannot describe the customer service one receives from this place .
I loved the twisted cheese. I loooove the pastry, there was a lady i bought pastry from her and told her i am pregnant she gave me some complimentary sweets. Very generous of her.
Great bunch of guys awesome family excellent Grocery and small-town experience in a big city
Best butcher, love the chicken in a bag and lamb.
It's a small store stuffed full. It's hard to maneuver around while trying to maintain social distancing.
It’s the rite place to all your Mediterranean supply and the western supply too lots a variety and warm place very clean and every things you need in one place Keep going guys
Love this place , so many unique items.
Have a great variety of spices, dates were plentiful, prices were reasonable.
Got a frozen kebab from here. It had fungus on it. I wonder how a frozen stuff could have fungus on it. The other products like fresh veg etc are good.
Nice halal market
First I am gonna talk about the beyond business side of Al Safadi. I lost $60 last winter, and I was sure that I dropped it inside Al Safadi’s supermarket. The owner and his son welcomed me into the back room and watched the surveillance for about 30 minutes until my interaction with the cashier was found. Despite the fact that the money wasn’t found, I truly appreciated their efforts in helping me to locate the money. Now onto Al Safadi’s business side. I like the quality of food sold at the deli section. The zaatar manaqeesh and the spinach fatayer are too good and I buy them almost weekly. Also, the halloum cheese is very good. Their produce is the cheapest in town, and the quality is great. I buy fruits and vegetables from there regularly. Moreover, their Middle Eastern select products are on point, and the variety of choices is extremely satisfying. It is also worth mentioning that their choice of Arabic music is great and classy. In contrast, there are few items that I don’t buy from Al Safadi like meat and Canadian made products due to them being cheaper at other places. Overall, I like Al Safadi Supermarket, and I would strongly recommend it for your shopping needs. The place is nice and the employees are exemplary.
Good place for Middle Eastern groceries, and snacks, nice people.
Pastry are amazing and full of flavor. Amazing prices, will be going back for more tasty treats
Huge selection of middle eastern food and groceries Excellent service
Great prices on produce and a good selection of foods, olives, cheese. Great fresh baked buns. Love the place.
Went into store, 5 of 12 customers were not wearing masks in direct violation of AHS regulations. Customers were lined up 2 ft apart at the til yet srill being served when they do not have a mask. …
Variety of products with almost every Mediterranean product available in store including fresh fruits and vegetables such as zucchini, egg plants and many others, frozen vegetables, canned products, olive oil, freshly baked bread, deli, …
Most well stocked store I have ever been in .
Great place for Halal foods

I like shopping in this place have very good grocery and very nice customer service Thank you
Yummy sugar free baklava
My favorite medetrainian super market,,
very excellent in halal and variety
Very good place for shopping
Hi, I went there yesterday for fresh vegetables and fruit. All their pricey produce, except for tomatoes and big red peppers, were perfectly ready for the …
We are blessed to have them in the city.
Veggies are great but dont alwaysclast a long time great mediteranian market. Olives are cheap and olive oil. Just watch yourcproduce. Use it up within few days
Would not recommend. Lunch meats from the deli always expired and rotten. Bread always expired, cheeses expired, milk expired. You walk by the deli, there's a fridge with a variety of cheeses. You WILL find rotten cheese with mould covering it. CHECK THE DATE ON EVERYRHING YOU BUY AND VISUALLY INSPECT IT... when you go return, they don't even apologize... They pretend they didn't know. Everything on sale is rotten...
Great Mediterranean groceries and Speacialty items prices are reasonable Service is excellent They have a bigger store on 167 Ave in Edmonton Try that store
My favourite place for Mediterranean supplies and all the interesting products they have that you can't get in your average grocery store. Plus great prices!
Amazing staff and stuff. Very friendly people and cheap groccrery.
Need to give mask and sanitizer in front
Good Middle Eastern products and a great variety. Customer service could be improved.
Wonderful place, all you want is there, meat, fruits, juice, cookies, all sorts of Mediterranean, Lebanese, arabic aroma, everything is there.
Great place for shopping. Friendly staff.
Prices are unbelievably low. The fruit and vegetables are incredible. The best lunch meats are found in the city. If you buy in bulk they will give you a deal.
Fair prices, good service.
Adriana is a wonderful lady in the cosmetic section. She has good experience in makeup and perfumes. She guided me to the perfect products that fits with my skin. Thank you Adriana
I can't say enough about this supermarket. From fresh produce, local homemade pastries and the most helpful staff. Ive never had a negative experience from the supermarket and my entire family have been going there for many years. *Highly recommend*
Great, friendly, variety, unique things you can't find elsewhere. Beautiful bananas for 59 cents a pound can't be beat either.
