I have always wanted to pursue a career in the floral industry and decided to reach out to Joanne from Twig and Bloom! She is a wonderful florist and designer who happily took me under her wing for a two day intensive training experience. I learned so much in that two days that I left her studio with a head full of so much practical information! I learned the basics of the business as well as some of the tricks of the trade. She had some very great advice and gave me so much to think about. I enjoyed her kindness and hospitality so much. I also enjoyed her teaching techniques! We did not have a good experience with Twig & Bloom. Though we were initially drawn to and pleased with Joanne's designs and aesthetic, several issues arose in the early stages of planning. There was a severe lack of communication - unfortunately she was not prompt in her messaging and would often take up to a week or more to respond to emails (often without an out of office reply or an apology). Additionally she was not forthcoming about additional artist fees in the initial invoice, which resulted in our having to re-negotiate the contract. Lastly, and perhaps the biggest issue, was her inflexibility around cancellation pertaining to the current COVID pandemic. While the initial contract did indicate that all deposits were non-refundable (which, in a pre-COVID time was understandable), she was not sympathetic or understanding of the situation which ultimately resulted in our having to cancel the wedding. We were able to secure some of the deposit back after weeks of messaging back and forth (again often waiting days for a reply), but this was not done without debate and she was not willing to relinquish the entire sum. I would be wary of this with regards to booking in the upcoming months and the continued uncertainty around events with large groups. Overall this ended up being the most difficult and disappointing interaction of all our vendors in Saskatoon, and as such Twig & Bloom cannot be recommended in good faith.

Although Joanne has nice floral designs, I cannot recommend Twig and Bloom because of her inflexibility, tardiness in responses, and overall lack of empathy during COVID-19. Buyers beware.

My first experience with Twig & Bloom was a home run! Joanne created a beautiful floral arrangement that was thoroughly adored by the recipient. She was prompt to reply to emails, accommodating in my request and surpassed my expectations in both artistic design and speed of service. Twig & Bloom will be my 'go to' floral designer in Saskatoon.

Simply put, Joanne is an artist. She has an eye for beauty and her style of florals fit our romantic vintage wedding theme impeccably. She constructed the flower arch of our dreams, and her bouquets and arrangements were nothing short of perfection. When we came to Joanne with the idea of using my grandmother’s and great aunt’s teacup collection for the basis of our centerpieces, she jumped at the opportunity and truly created something remarkable for every guest table. We greatly appreciated the extra time that Joanne took to come out to Elk Ridge and remained on site for the better part of our day to handle the transition of the florals into the reception hall and repurpose as many flowers as she could. Little touches such as the Ruscus sprigs on every menu or the Westminster Abbey roses in my bouquet were the elements that make Joanne a truly unique and thoughtful designer. We would recommend Twig and Bloom as a wedding florist to anyone getting married in Saskatchewan, you won’t be disappointed!

Joanne is the master of her craft! She did the florals for our July wedding and there were a few things that made her and her team stand out. I found her to be an excellent communicator- I went in with a vague idea of what I was looking for and she had the tools, style and language to elicit a more concrete idea of exactly what I wanted. And of course, the design is beautiful as a whole and in the tiny, fractal details (like a sprig of apple blossoms on the BEAUTIFUL unconventional wedding arch that they made). Joanne’s work and talent exceeded all of my expectations. Not only did she achieve the look I was going for, she went above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined in my head. Almost as if she knew what I wanted better than myself! My favourite piece was my bridal bouquet, it was gorgeous! I was excited to walk down the aisle with my beautiful bouquet! Joanne was quick to answer any questions I had leading up to the wedding day which made the process very easy. All flowers were delivered to the correct destination and on time. I had a last minute request of adding an extra boutonnière to my order and she was happy to help me out, no problem! The only thing I would’ve liked was a little reminder that the vases the bridal bouquets came delivered in, had to be returned..very minor issue.
