Prices are okay only for sale items. Went there today at 3pm, only 2 cash registers open and busy. I asked the Express clerk if I could go through, she took one glance and said 'no way'. I had 9 items but a couple of some of them (does a bunch of bananas count as 1 item or 4?) I went through one of the lines and the whole time not one customer went through Express. The lady was leaning on her counter with her hands behind her head. That's just laziness. I'll find a better grocery store with better customer service.

When I was at Safeway. I and other Customers notice a lot of Products are marked down. I counted over 200 or more Products plus photos for Google Maps marked between $2.00 to $6.00 off throw out Safeway North Gate Mail. I along with other customers is real happy and Me getting the deal at that "PRICES " . Most customers felt like a real customers from what Safeway is offering. One customers was so excited she and me bought more marked down Products at a discount. Some customers were saying Safeway should have one space just for the marked downs. So they don't have run around looking for the discount items. Customers are saying they would shop more for the discounts and other products Safeway has to offer. More then one customers was asking the cashier why there is so many mark down products ???? The cashier stated customers don't like paying high Cost while on a Budget. Which the customers notice ever before at Safeway North Gate Mail. As for me and some people I meet will return for the discount prices. Let's face it prices aren't going to be any cheaper in the near Future. Why don't get something Bang for your Buck's?

There is this cashier named Sarah V. She is the sweetest most bubbly girl I know. She makes customers feel welcome, she treats everyone like they are a regular customer or that she's known them forever. Good selection, I like their parcel pickup service. You can buy your groceries and then do other shopping in the mall and pick up the groceries before you go home. I have to edit my review because Safeway put up a barrier between the entrance and exit doors making it physically impossible to exit the store without going through the checkouts. In an emergency one could easily be trapped. A clear example of profit over safety. This was reported to the fire marshal's office. I'll take my business elsewhere.

The one thing I do love about this one is the butcher section. I have been able to get some outstanding cuts of steak and ribs there. Today we had a not so great expierence with custom made cupcakes. The icing was not wel done, and just not quality work. We called and expressed our frustration as these were for a bday party. Ever since Safeway was bought out I have seen a steady decline in the variety of items and remarkable increases in prices. Before Safeway was bought out , you would have two or three different brand names and several different package sizes to choose from for most products. Since they were bought out, the choices within product lines and sizing options within product lines has declined by extremes. They pushed most of the choices out to push the company produced products ( store brands ). The location itself tends to feel cramped and dingy. Parking is easy to access and is usually abundant. I have shopped at this location off and on for over thirty years. I know what Safeway used to be like.

Great selection of ready to eat foods(salad, sandwiches, platters, chicken, etc.) as well as fully stocked produce, meat, and non perishable items sections. It's conveniently located in the North Gate Mall with mall access and it's own separate entrance. You can do some clothes shopping and then do your grocery shopping all without going into the cold or heat.

Do not shop at Safeway! I spent 400$ here and was harassed and degraded by a grocery store worker who was a vigorous power trip. She was acting as if she was Adolf hitler, yelling at me 7 times for loading my groceries at the round pace, then being to close, then for trying to pay for my groceries and so on. Meanwhile she is cackling with a girlfriend who just left and she wasn’t telling her what to do at every turn. I literally am a nursing student about to graduate, I am the first person to ensure safety. She is talking about being sick, having chest pains etc. meanwhile breathing on my produce. Yet she had the audacity to yell at me over and over again. I have never felt so belittled as I did today by this worker! If I were you I would save yourself and go to co-op!

Safeway is far too costly to do all your grocery shopping, but This is a wonderful location, with wonderful, friendly staff. They have a decent selection of cold drinks (though not as much as at the Victoria Square Mall location) The produce is always fresh and in season and they bring in locally grown produce often (I found Saskatchewan grown new potatoes two weeks ago) The bakery is decent, good selection of bread, rolls and pastries, the donuts are incredible, though they need to improve their selection of Birthday Cakes, as they often look misshaped. The store is always well stocked and very organized and clean. They have a great Starbucks and a nice seating area. The deli employees are friendly and it has a great selection of deli-meats, hot and cold food, salads and sandwiches and they make amazing rotisserie chickens. The potato wedges are bomb. The pharmacy is like all Safeways really small and they don't stock very much personal hygiene products or over the counter medicines, but you can always find what you are looking for, the pharmacy never looks too busy and the pharmacists always seem friendly. Overall Great Store, they just need to lower their prices as the cost of shopping there can be downright unreasonable, so I only ever buy less than 10 items.

The overall store is great, but your bakery department needs some serious work. First off, went to order a cake for my daughter. Took them forever to find a bakery personnel. Then when I picked up the cake, it honestly looked like a 5 year old wrote on it. I was so disappointed because it took away from the whole look of the cake it was that bad. If people can’t do nice writing on cakes, maybe they shouldn’t be allowed to do so. Will never deal with this bakery again and won’t be recommending anyone to go there either. I’ll go to Co-Op from now on. You may pay a bit more, but at least they take pride in their job and do nice work.

The store itself is very nice. However I needed to use the public washroom to change my baby. The washroom was very unkept, the change table had graffiti all over it, and after wiping the change table off with a disinfectant wipe the wipe was brown. Very dissatisfied that the rest of the store was very pleasant but the washroom was revolting.

I have been shopping at this Safeway for years. They are a bit pricey. However they do have some excellant sales. I like to stock up on products when they are on sale. They also have Airmiles and sometimes give extra Airmiles on certain products. Friendly, helpful staff. Overall great place to shop!

Not impressed. Flyer came out with butterball Turkeys on sale and they had 2 in stock. They did have a large number of the same item that were not frozen at a higher price. Since Sobeys took over Safeway the product selection has continually gone down hill. Their staff is great but we will not be using ANY of their stores as our preferred shopping place. We don't want to have anything to do with Sobeys or any of their affiliates.

My favorite place to get groceries in the area. Food is good, staff at the deli and checkout are super friendly, selection on bread products is almost always quite good until it gets close to closing time. Layout feels a lot better than the other safe ways I have been to, and the checkout lanes have been manned quite well any time I have shopped. Pre-made sandwiches and meals have always been great to grab if you need food in a hurry, and having a Starbucks inside is a nice addition for those who want it. Only downside is there is the occasional local harassing people for money by the main doors, but that is not the stores fault and can be easily avoided by using the "cafe" doors just east of the entrance.

I recently had neck surgery and i have to wear a collar. There is a young lady that works there and i believe her name is Sara. She was so helpful and caring about me finding what i needed and making sure i was alright. I have never experienced this kind of help from anyone anyplace. She must be an angel. I wish all people were like her. This is why i will give safeway 5 stars, but i will give Sara 10 stars. Thank you so much Sara. I look forward to see you there the next time im there.

Shelves pretty bare for 5:30 Tuesday afternoon. Limited bread , buns, and eggs, these shelves were basically empty. Remember prior to the Sobeys marriage how there was a promise that the "bread was fresh at 5 ". Ha good luck finding bakery bread let alone fresh!

Haven't been to this location in a while, so decided to stop in. Like every store, very bright, well laid out and found what I needed, although had to go down a different aisle to get the one I needed, other than that it was easy.
