I hired Vermeer's as the florist for my June wedding at Kurtz Orchards in NOTL.
The flower arrangements were beautiful; however, we were grossly misquoted on what we would get for our money. I was terribly disappointed showing up to my own wedding to see how little flowers were actually lining the tables after all the discussions we had had over the matter.
What was most disappointing was that my budget was originally $1,500 and the Representative told me I didn't need to spend that much for my peony bouquets and centrepieces, and that $1000 all in would cover everything we discussed seeing how the flower would be in season.
The wedding rolled around we had small and scarce centrepieces throughout; it was quite embarrassing. When we inquired within post-nuptials, the same Rep. advised us that we didn't provide a big enough budget of $1000 to execute what had been discussed in advance.
What was sad about this was that we didn't do a bouquet toss so I had called months in advance to check-in and advise that I didn't need a throwaway bouquet. The Rep advised me that the throwaway bouquet was Vermeers' gift to the Bride on her Big Day. This Bride would have rather you used those "gifted" flowers on her centrepieces.
Other disappointing notes:
Bouquets and boutonnieres were delivered to our hotel in Niagara Falls. The Groom and his Best Man were in the elevator, not yet dressed up, while they bumped into one of the Vermeer's Rep. and the Best Man made a joke about how that delivery was probably theirs. The Rep overheard, handed over the box and walked away. Without confirming the name, phone number or anything else.
We provide boutonnieres holders (with extras, of course) and the Father-of-the-Groom's boutonniere was handed off cracked in half and could not be used. Luckily one of our guests had pins and came to the rescue.
It was discussed that I would have peach-coloured Juliet Garden Roses in my bouquet and in the centrepieces; apparently, they couldn't get their hands on any peach-coloured Juliet Garden Roses and just replaced them with regular Roses in a Peach colour (not the same thing). This I I learned the day before our wedding at about 3 in the afternoon. There was nothing to be done about it at that point.
In addition to finding out I didn't get the peach flowers I wanted, I was also advised the day before the wedding that there were no vases provided for mine and my bridesmaids' bouquets for the head table. Let me preface that this was also in the original quote from the Rep. This was more money I had to shell out.
I would not recommend Vermeer's to execute a wedding. I'm not confidant in their services for an event of this magnitude.
