Just got back from Margitta and I'm so happy! I got my first air plant which I've considered purchasing many times prior to this purchase. But, was never able to convince myself. Luckily, I found Marg's! And, with her help, I got the perfect plant. She even gave me instructions to take care of it! Thank you so much. I love small businesses like Margitta.

Every time I visit North Vancouver I stop by this shop. Beautiful flowers at a great price. I have even phoned them directly to order flowers for delivery, and a beautiful bouquet was delivered as promised.

I buy Margitta's flowers because of the quality. It's simply superior. I received a bouquet from a dear friend visiting from CA 4 days ago. A purple hyacinth, a stem of (3) GIANT dark pink lilies, one of which was open, an exquisite orange rose with dark orange tips almost in full bloom and perky as can be, some yellow baby chrysanthemums and 1 tall little red gerbera and greens (those branches of bright green waxy leaves) Such a beautiful and thoughtful arrangement Margitta! So fragrant and vibrant with color to enjoy on these grey Vancouver days! It looks as fresh as the day I got it, only better because a new lily opened today! It's obvious you LOVE what you do, Thank You :)

Staff was not very helpful in helping customers find flowers. One lady was in looking for some flowers for a funeral. The staff member was very flippant with her when she asked what might look good for the funeral reception. The staff seemed very uninterested in helping this woman find the right flowers for her funeral and even became verbally frustrated when asked further questions regarding cost and delivery. Poor service. Would not suggest going here if you don't know EXACTLY what you'd like to get.

When i studied at Vancouver in October 1996 , my wife and i visited this flower shop.. It was very very beautiful flower shop, so i took a photo ( below 2nd pic)for my wife there. At that time , my wife got pregnant my first daughter 7months ..and my first baby was born in January 1997. My family had returned to South Korea in Spring 1997.. And my first daughter is now traveling CANADA after a half year english study in Toronto city. Today she called me and said..she visited the flower shop in North Vancouver where her mother visited place in the picture. She now came back to Margitta flower shop ..23years later..and took a picture as same as her mother pose (below 1st pic) She said... " I m very happy to be here..this place is historical place for me..because mother' s picture at Margitta Flower shop was the first picture for me with mother, even though i was in her! " " Here is Awesome place for my life! " Now im in KOREA ..and When i heard the news from my baby in Vancouver CANADA , i was also very surprised... Margitta Flower shop is still there !! More than 20 years !!! So Now.. Im planning to visit there with my wife in next year ....^^

Margitta is one of the kindest ladies you could meet. She and her staff go out of their way to be helpful to arrange what colours, textures you would like. Her pricing is very good. Many times when my children were younger I would ask for a gift certificate or flowers for tables for the school functions and she would not hesitate to help. She is very community spirited.

Flowers by May is located in the Lonsdale Quay market. The selection is excellent, the prices are great, and May is an absolute doll to deal with. There are lovely flowering plants and premade arrangements but don't let that stop you from requesting a special bouquet...just tell May or Karen what the occasion is and your preferred color scheme, and they'll put something beautiful and appropriate together for you. For example, I wanted to send a get well arrangement to a friend who was in the hospital and May recommended something small because of the limited space in hospitals, bright and cheerful flowers for obvious reasons, and flowers with little or very low fragrance because hospitals have scent policies and smelly flowers aren't permitted...makes sense but I really wouldn't have thought of all this on my own! May and Karen will tell you how to care for your plant or cut flowers (water, cutting, temperature, etc). If it'll be a few hours before you can get your bouquet into a vase, let them know and they'll include a makeshift cellophane "vase" to keep the ends from drying out. I've always been happy with the flowers and service at May's, and am happy to support this local, family-owned business.

I would definitely recommend this place! We had a tight budget for our wedding and Flowers by May had unbeatable prices. I wasn't particular about specifics, just a few Pinterest pictures and color requests but Karen was really able to bring that vision together. We loved our bouquets and boutonnieres and so did all our guests. My bouquet complimented my dress and completed my look. It all came together and I felt beautiful on my wedding day and for that, I can't thank them enough!

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. One employee the older woman is a complete racist. My girlfriend went to buy flowers and had a regular chat with this employee she's the only one working at the time. When referring to friends that are Persian decent, she said, and I quote, "oh we've had those before, they never buy anything. The worst." I was just waiting on the side and appalled. This flower shop is horrible and the employee is incredibly rude and racist.
