I had a very negative experience purchasing floral supplies for our wedding at Turley's. The person serving us was dismissive, rude, and uninvitingly frank in her attitude that we were making a huge mistake. She essentially informed us that my bouquet and centrepieces would be a failure. I can't imagine she thought her behaviour would result in us purchasing their professional services, so if she wasn't motivated by up-selling, what exactly was she after? Vindication? Based on the other negative reviews, I realise this was likely the owner, and not the disgruntled employee I expected her to be. Anyways, I'm quite surprised their average rating is so high, and I'm really glad we ignored her bullying, because the flowers were a highlight. Thanks for the floral wire, foam and tape, and that's it!

This morning, I ordered a flower arrangement, a balloon, and some chocolates for a friend who turned 60 today. She just texted me to say thank you and included photos. The flowers look exactly, if not better, than those in the photo on the website, and the balloon and chocolates are cute and cheerful! Thank you for delivering on such short notice and for exceeding our expectations!

If you like being treated politely - go anywhere else. I had an absolutely awful interaction with one of their employees - and cancelled my order because I honestly don't want to give them any money. I tried to complain and clarify as to why I was cancelling my order and Marianne Turley's response to my initial complaint was ridiculously dismissive. She tried to frame it as my issue, that I was unhappy with an error I had made during ordering. No. I was unhappy because your staff (or possibly you, I don't know) treated me very poorly over a very simple inquiry. If there's anywhere else open - go there.

Someone was turning 90! What a special day to celebrate. Phoned Turley's Florist to arrange a flower delivery - I was not sure what the name of wing he was in at the nursing home, they told me not to worry, they know the facility well and will find him and make the delivery. The flowers were delivered the next day - no fuss - no muss. Bouquet was appreciated and I know I can count on Turley's to get the job done - and beautifully, I might add!

I’m sure they do lovely arrangements but I popped in for a sprig of baby’s breath. The seemed busy, which have contributed but I found them quiet rude. They charged $3.45 for a single stem. I wasn’t impressed with this experience and wouldn’t go back.

Thank you to the Turley's staff for the great service they provided when I ordered a bouquet on-line. They tried to deliver my order the same day but I had typed in the wrong delivery address. They contacted me to confirm and the problem was solved quickly. My friend received the delivery the next day and she was thrilled with the arrangement. It's hard to drive by Turley's Florist in Nanaimo and not pull in to see and smell all the beautiful flowers. The Turley family has built a business on passion. The staff is very friendly and always quick to help you out. Need anything for your outdoor garden, they probably have that too. Just a wonderful little business... and a super fabulous Flower shop.. I've even come home to flowers on my door step, dropped off by Turley's Florist.. Now that makes a lady happy!!

Marianne worked with me through email for months leading up to my wedding. She made sure to think of every detail to create the exact look that I wanted. On the day, my flowers were stunning and I was able to keep my favourite piece in my hotel room for several days: two flower topped lanterns. I called to place an order for Mother’s day flowers. The lady who answered the phone was extremely rude. No hello or anything. I knew it was going to a busy time for the florist given Mother's day was coming up so I expected the conversation to be a bit rushed. I wouldn't have minded that. But this lady was cold, interruptive and a bit of a jerk. She didn't even ask me if I had a any preferences for my flowers (arrangement, colour, style). I felt like she was telling me I should be happy to get what I could get. I asked if she knew when the flowers might get delivered. Well that was apparently an inconceivable question to ask. "I don't know!!" she yelped exasperated and annoyed. “We have 5 trucks going out tomorrow!! We are very busy!!" I understand, that's OK I said. She took my credit card number and said she was done. I thanked her for her help and she said "yep", no thank you or goodbye. My order wasn't a small one either. Somehow I was spending over $200 at their store and I came out feeling like they were doing ME a favour. Our conversation wasn't long but it left quite an off feeling in my stomach. I decided to call back and cancel a couple of hours later. The lady who answered the phone seemed quite nice. She asked if I could call back after Mother's day to tell the owner about my complaint. I asked if she knew who took my order, she opened up the ordering system and said "oh, it was the owner, Marianne Turley". That shocked me to hear. After finding out it was the owner who took my order I felt even better about my decision to cancel my order. Before that I was thinking it was just a grumpy underpaid employee and maybe I shouldn't hold that against the florist shop as a whole. But I guess in the end I made the right call. I'm sure given the owners attitude she doesn't care about this, but I was a long-time customer. Ever since I moved away from Nanaimo 15 years ago I've always phoned in flowers for delivery to my friends and family back home. I will no longer be a patron of Turley's Florist.

I Went there to look for a corsage, asked for examples, was not givin any and was judged for my choices?? lady “helping me” was extremely rude , rushing me, making rude comments even about her own flowers and bands. I did not purchase anything from there and never will, highly recommend going anywhere else. I would rather pick a Weed out of the ground and wear it then have to have another conversation with that lady ever again nor buy a flower from there.

Turley's did the flowers for my wedding last month. We were planning our wedding from abroad and so were nervous about not being able to meet the florist and discuss options in person. Marianne was fantastic, very quick at responding to emails and I felt I could trust her with what I wanted. As it happened the look I wanted (with lily of the valley) wasn't possible that early in the year and she came up with lots of alternatives for us. Delivery on the day was early and very helpful, they even set up the floral archway for us. The only negative I have is that the petals we were going to use as confetti were forgotten. However, Marianne was very apologetic and my flowers were so beautiful it didn't matter! Thank you for bringing beautiful colour and elegance to my wedding day. I would recommend Turley's to anyone who doesn't want to worry about their wedding flowers.

The customer service we received from a lady (not to judge on her appearance, but couple of useful identifiers: old, overweight) was sub standard at best, if not unacceptable. I am not sure if she should continue working there as she seemed upset at us just for looking at the flowers we might want. All of us go to a flower shop to get professional help for choosing, and putting together a better looking flower bundle. As I started choosing flowers, the aforementioned lady consistently shook her head, sighed and urged me to hurry. I cannot think of any reason why she would do this as I wasn't engaged in any behaviour that would reasonably be frowned upon. I didn't ask her too many questions, I wasn't touching other displayed flowers. I was trying to buy a birthday flower. That was it. Rarely anybody in retail industry would display such an eccentricity. The website displays the owners name as Jim and Marianne Turley. Mr. & Mrs. Turley, if you read this, have a talk with your employee as she is deterring away customers. If the said lady is the owner, well.. bad bad bad business practice. Have some decency to treat your customers with a smile. It's a flower shop after all. We were there around noon October 14, 2016.

I was able to place the order online and it was delivered to her the next day! Wow! That was easy!!! I can’t believe this business gets five-star reviews. The staff are utterly uninterested in serving people, or even greeting them. The crabby woman - I believe she’s the owner - is absolutely sneering at the imposition of having to deal with commoners. She is flat-out rude. I wouldn’t go back to that place if they had free buckets of water and my hair was on fire.

I always dealt with Turleys as I found them to be quite reliable, but there was a HUGE mess up for my wedding. They forgot to give us about half our flowers. I talked to them the day before to confirm everything, and then on my wedding day when I called they told me it was basically my fault as I didn't have boutonnieres in my order, yet I had them on my receipt at home. VERY dissapointing. It was a $400 bill, and they also tried telling me they would only refund me $30 back. I also didn't get any ribbons around my bouquets, they stuck plastic sticks into my wedding bouquet so I didn't get any pretty ribbon wrapped around my bouquet which I also asked for and ordered. I wouldn't suggest them for wedding bouquets.
