My experience with Lewis Flowers was less than ideal. I ordered my wedding flowers from there. My first visit was great; I explained what I wanted for the bouquets, received some excellent feedback about what was in season and what could be changed out for imitation rather than fresh. I also asked for a price estimate on the bouquets and was told $150.
I called back several weeks later to confirm the order and leave my payment information as I was not going to be the one picking up on the day of. I asked for another estimate and was told $175. I explained the last person I was in contact with said $150, but as long as it was in between those two estimates that would be fine. The day of my wedding, I arrived to see two bouquets that only mildly resembled what we had discussed in the store. Different flowers were used. One bouquet was a different shape than I asked. I didn’t sweat it because you have bigger fish to fry on your wedding day. A few days after my wedding, I saw that I had been charged $272 by Lewis. I called and was told that the florist “took the liberty” of adding some flowers not agreed upon earlier and thought it would be okay to do so without contacting me. She refunded me $40 of the $100 extra I was charged. I called again and this is when things got interesting. She told me that I shouldn’t have fully trusted an “estimate” because those are verbal and it would have been more formal and trustworthy if I received a “quote” (in writing). After a long discussion I was hung up on and a few days later refunded another $40. I’m still waiting for my other $20, and a promise that they’ll treat future customers with more respect. I was completely taken advantage of. Shame on Lewis Flowers.
