After purchasing 4 big maples their young lads goofed and loaded 4 bags of dirt instead of fertilizer we bought. We live an hour out of town and they brought out our fertilizer the next day and say to keep to the dirt. Fantastic service and customer care is all we can say.

Been here a few times in the last months. Had really nice Christmas stuff but otherwise stock was lacking. Main reason for the low rating though is the staff. Every time I had a question they were useless. My favourite time was when I had three different employees tell me they couldn't help (I just wanted to know if I could special order an orchid) and send me to someone else. The last one sent me to the unmanned information desk where I waiting for 20 minutes before giving up and leaving. I only went in because when I called no one answered and when I emailed (it's been a month now) no one answered.

I have never been to a place like this. This is a great place to buy plants and even some exotic tropical fruit trees. I am very impress to say the least. I had the opportunity to meet Trish and that has been one of the best experiences I had ever had as a customer. Trish is extremely helpful and patient. She took the time to answered all our questions. I will definitely will go back and I hope to find her again because I know that She cares ! There was also another gentleman that I did not get his name but He was actually on his day off. He asked me if I needed any help and went inside the store to get somebody to help us. The staff here are great. Kudos to all and keep up the good work.

I asked a staff member to help me find glass watering globes. They took me inside and showed me these adapters for wine/pop bottles. I wasn't totally satisfied with that so i continued to look around. Outside in a little pot planter I found glass watering globes. It's frustrating to ask for help to find something, be told "this is what they have" and then find what you're actually looking for after 20 minutes of wandering around.

I went to this store yesterday to look at house plants. I’ve always love house plants but recently got into them on a bigger level, so because of this I was looking for some uncommon plants on my list. They had a table marked “rare/uncommon “ plants. I almost bought a Dragon Tail and one other but put them back last minute because of cost. Later that day I went into a nursery and found the same plants and same size but instead of 69.99 for the dragon tail I paid 4.99 for each of them!! So I felt like they were trying to get one over on me and probably won’t be going back there to purchase house plants.

With the social distancing at this time it was quite irregular in shopping through the garden centre. The young men who were at the entrance did not seem to be able to stand up to assist me in my shopping. I'd give more stars cause the actual place is awesome, however I was basically told that my Venus Fly traps are a "novelty plant" and they would die pretty much no matter what I did. I was told they needed a terrarium which I got and so far they are still alive. Why not just tell me that they are hard to keep alive but if you do this you can hopefully keep them alive...

HUGE SHOUT OUT from my mom to Kamloops’ Art Knapp’s Manager and team. " I took my Momma to buy her bedding plants for Mother’s Day. 3 flats of flowers, 2 green peppers, 3 cucumber plants, 1 begonia and 3 bishop mantel. Total $84.00 The team at Art Knapp’s was extremely helpful with helping us find everything my Mom wanted. Very friendly. We were able to get everything quickly. Get to the register Tried my debit card four times and it kept saying chip failure so I said no worries I will just use my visa. The Manager stepped up and said Happy Mother ‘s Day to you and your mother it’s on me today. I didn’t get the manager’s name but his kindness has humbled me. I will be paying it forward."

Fairly good selection although it seems to be that alot of the plants are neglected and in poor condition. I found that the staff seemed to be more concerned with making excuses for the condition of the plants rather than being straightforward and giving a discount. The store seems to be going towards clothing and fancy yard and home accessories. Personally I find it a great place for cool gifts and not for landscaping or adding to your small garden or indoor house plants.

Great place to buy plants, but buyer beware: most plants are not labeled correctly. I don't trust their cucumber plants after buying so many long English plants to be dissappointed with a pickling cucumber. Airplants also not labeled correctly, and probably far more then that.

I bought a very rootbound tree from Art Knapp in the late fall of 2018 and followed planting and care recommendations carefully. It naturally lived past the 90 day guarantee, but struggled late in the season and didn't come back this spring. When I called (with a very reasonable request) to discuss getting a replacement at a year end discount, the customer service person refused. She openly stated that some of their suppliers supply very root bound trees, but refused to take any responsibility for selling them, saying it was past the 90 days. My suggestion, always take any plant out of the pot before buying and don't buy anything with a comparatively small pot to tree size or root bound shrubs or trees. I learned a costly $150 lesson. I bought four trees from other garden centres and they are all alive - with two difficult winters one has had winter die off, but all are thriving.

Stopped in as I wanted to shop for shrubs.. Helped by a young knowledgeable man and purchased four shrubs. About an hour after I left the store I realized that I had lost my silver necklace and pendant. On a lark I called them to ask if anything had been found. I was also very skeptical of ever recovering the necklace and pendant as a) I stopped a couple of times to take photos on my way up from Merritt and b) I assumed if someone had found it they likely would have kept it. Not the case.............about 20 minutes after I called A.N to see if anything was found I received a call (Cheryl?) that indeed someone had turned in a silver necklace. I arrived back to A.N and proceeded to start where I first parked..............and guess what was on the ground..........my pendant. I then went and retrieved my necklace from the A.N. contact. Even tho my material was just that...material........I am absolutely taken aback that despite my ignorance, I got my material back. Cheryl? and the rest of the staff at A.N.......U GUYZ ROCK and I would love to shop and purchase in ur store anytime. Thank u thank u thank u so much. Michael

I made a trip to Kamloops yesterday to pick out my plants for this years garden. Selection was great and so was *most* of the staff. Unfortunately when I arrived I had a very strong need to use the restroom after my hour drive into town. Seeing that the bistro was open I assumed there would be a bathroom available. I asked about the restroom at the information center and given an insincere "sorry no bathrooms due to covid". I had to leave the property to find another business that would be more caring of customers needs. Returned to the store, picked my plants out and proceeded inside to pay. With this being my first time at Art Knapps, I was unsure of where the check out was, so i again approached the information center. The staff at the center really dont seem like they want help people. Again i felt i was inconveniencing them by approaching them. That being said the cashier was very friendly and helpful once I found them. Overall I am satisfied with my experience however I would love to see some retraining for those working the information center, and bathrooms available for customers.

I purchased a "millstone" fountain, on sale, from the Kamloops store in 2014. It was stored in my garage until this summer. The base of the fountain is very heavy and it takes three people to move it. When we went to move it to my lawn, I found it cracked all around the base inside and out. The material was actually crumbling. I phoned the store last week to see if there was anything that could be done, and was told to take photos, come to the store and speak to a manager. So on the 5th of August, we made the hour and a half trip to Kamloops. The staff was very clear that it was bought at a FINAL sale and there was nothing they could do. I was also told "you wouldn't have bought it cracked, would you" One staff asked another staff if there were fountain repair kits. I never did find out if there were. I left quite disappointed that there was absolutely no interest whatsoever in trying to find an answer So, another expense disposing of the item at my local landfill. My feedback to the store about these expensive fountains: Do make sure to tell your customers these concrete resin composite fountains may not last very long even under ideal care! The base was poorly manufactured. Another point! It was handled with the utmost care. The fountain had been bought with an Art Knapp gift certificate from my former co-workers. So another disappointment. Never had any response to an email sent to the store. Won't be going there again!

Best garden store in town, if you're willing to fork out the $$$. The gift merchandise inside is a bit tacky but might appeal to boomers or rednecks. The plants are far more healthy than plants you [might] find at Home Depot or at any other big box store, but the prices are usually double what you find elsewhere. Pots are ridiculously expensive, even the plastic kinds. Best selection of quirky garden decor if you're looking to get a gift for someone. Outside staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. The cashiers are a bit ignorant about what's happening around the store. The customer service desk staff has been short with me 3 out of the 4 times I've needed their assistance. Overall, though, I really like shopping here when I go.

Update: February 2021. Received a call from Art Knapp apologizing for the lack of service 3 months ago. Impressed by follow up and offer of information. Thank you. Previous post 3 months ago: Went today to look at Beachcomber hot tubs and was told by someone who works at the information counter that "they are sold out" twice when I tried clarify. No floor models to view, and no other information offered regarding future inventory coming in, brochures, or anything else. Was made to feel like I was bothering the person. Guess they're no longer selling Beachcomber???

It is my happy place (next to the quilt shop). I visited Art Knapp for the 1st time and bought plants of exceptional quality at very reasonable prices. The service was excellent. I traveled a good distance but will not hesitate to go again. We need more Art Knapp stores.

I stopped at Art Knapps, Kamloops, on my way home from kamloops to Clearwater. It was 6:50 pm.As I asked where the wave petunias were located a lady worker replied to me, "we are closed in 5 minutes" and suddenly she turned on the sprinklers right in front of me and other customers! It was so rude considering I've shopped therefor 25 years. The old locations on the highway by Raileig, and on the hill in kamloops had great, friendly service. Art Knapps has went so far downhill with their costumer service. I will not shop there ever again. RUDE...

Top notch. Loads of amazing indoor and outdoor plants and the kind, knowledgeable staff to aid you in your decisions and plant care. Art Knapp carries fertilizers, soils, garden equipment, and pots and containers too. They have beautiful cut flower arrangements, Beachcomber spa ect., and lovely gift ware and homewares. One of my favorite places in Kamloops; I'll be back to add to my houseplant hoard!

Incredible. Marvellous plant selection (of all varieties from annuals, perennials, succulents, etc) but also fantastic decor and gifts! Cafe is very nice as well. Affordable local delivery & lovely flower work if you want to gift someone a planter or floral arrangement. Amazing planter selection by the way... I have a few on my wish list!

Its people like Janice(I believe thats her name!!) That make a business. My first time there..I went straight up to her to ask her where something was ..it was important I got the right color flower etc.. Its last minute..she knew they were out but asked a fellow employee..she confirmed they were out. I explained why it was important and she pointed me right to something as similar as she could and it was actually even better then what I came in for. She gave me some plant knowledge, helped me find a container for it and directed me to the till. She made my shopping experience so fast and simple. A few minutes later in the line up, I look over and she is lightly jogging to me with a big smile on her face..and she has with her, a white gerbera daisy. The exact flower I needed. The last one! She went out of her way, above and beyond and with the loveliest personality. That's a hell of an employee. Thanks Janice. Ill be back:)
