Scrim's is an incredible Florist that puts the customer first. I first contacted them to help create a succulent/cacti arrangement for our daughter's birthday. After MANY emails, Kathleen made a beautiful creation that tickled both the giver AND the recipient! We could not be more pleased with the professionalism, the inspired and resourceful staff, and the final product. Bravo!

The customer service here is outstanding. I had a list of plants I researched that I was trying to narrow down for my home. The staff here are incredibly knowledgeable and very friendly, they helped with all the questions I had. The staff even encouraged me to come back later in the spring (I went in early March) when there would be more selections of plants, rather than pushing me to purchase something the same day. When I bought two plants, the staff wrapped them in cellophane and in a layer of plastic for the cold. They had a very pretty vase with a minor scratch (1cm long) and offered it to me for free. They had a second basket that they used for in store plants (not for sale) that they weren't using, so they offered it to me for free as well for the second plant I bought. As stated, the customer service here is outstanding. Highly recommend!!

Scrims is a neighbourhood treat. Their prices are quite reasonable given the high quality of their arrangements, however it's the service that really stands out. I've been fairly high-maintenance, requesting special items with tight deadlines, and Susan never fails to make it happen. She's extremely knowledgeable and helpful, as are the rest of the staff. When you see the expertise put into every arrangement, it's easy to see why Scrims has been on Ottawa staple for over 100 years.

Loveliest people and loveliest plants! I was recently gifted an adorable planter from Scrim's so I thought I would fill it with plants from there too. Although the lockdown measures meant no in-store shopping, the staff at Scrim's were so thoughtful and patient in helping me pick out the perfect succulents over Instagram DM. They sent me tons of photos so I could pick the ones I liked most and the curbside pick up arrangement was easy, convenient and safe. I simply cannot praise this place enough! They have a nice variety of plants, with larger, leafy plants at the front of the store, and tropical and succulent plants at the side and back. They could stand to label more of their plants though, as they had a large, 3-level shelf of assorted plants with no info tags or care tips. Knowing which type of plant you have is so important to figuring its light, humidity, and watering needs, so it would really help to have this information (and the last time I was there, the only people available for questions were part-time staff with somewhat limited knowledge of the plants in-store, unfortunately).

I was looking for some pots to plant some indoor plants. Someone highly recommended Scrim's to me, so I went in to have a look. They have some really wonderful pots, and I bought two very colourful ones. Good prices too, even though they were imported from Germany! Service was excellent, and the person was extremely helpful. I'm glad I took my friend's advice and shopped here. Give them a try!

The clerk I spoke with was a really sweet and lovely person! They were genuinely helpful, and even if they weren't very knowledgeable of the particular plants I was looking for they definitely tried their best to assist. However, after closer at-home inspection the plant I ended up buying was infected with ringspot virus. I paid nearly $30 for the small plant (including a small pot to house the planter) but in the end I had to quarantine it and remove a sizeable number of its leaves to save the plant. :( Very sad that I paid full price for it only to lose most of what I paid for due to poor plant quality.

Fate found us planning a wedding with no notice. I called Scrim's because they were closest to City Hall (and it was cold). Wow, what a stroke of luck! Luckily our bride is just the best and just wanted a pretty bouquet to hold. The ladies at Scrim's were superb to work with and worked well within our timeline and budget. The bride LOVED the flowers and the wedding was just lovely. Scrim's will be our new go-to for all flowers. What a great job!

I decided to take the plunge and purchase 3 new plants and two pots for my jungle. The plants were so FULL and even had a bunch of new baby leaves getting ready. Great selection of plants and pots. Occasionally has some very unique plants that are difficult to find in Ottawa. Also has some unique planters. I find the prices slightly high for plants/pots, but given it is spacious and in the core, I totally understand.

Friendly staff and good plant selection. They were able to recommend a plant for low light and helped compare lighting requirements for different plants. Even packaged one of them up really nice with tissue paper and a sticker, when I mentioned it was going to be a gift for a friend. I took home a little fiddle leaf fig and a golden pothos with nice ceramic cover pots for each.

Exceptional service! I've called for flowers and delivery twice and in both cases they have been absolutely accommodating and dedicated to getting the job done. The first time I asked for a delivery, I didn't give very much detail. Basically said the "big government building" in Gatineau. I didn't realize there were 4 of them in group! The delivery guy searched for over an hour to make the delivery! But got it done! The staff are always friendly on the phone, and remembered me when I called the second time from PEI. They go above and beyond. Excellent service can be hard to find these days. Scrim's has it in spades!

I went in to purchase a moss pole and the staff were open to teaching me how to do it myself as they did not have any ready to purchase. Not only did they provide their time and effort but offered the moss and wire pole for free so I could take it home and do it myself. I was amazed by their kindness, honesty and generosity. This florist was recommended to me as having very high standards so I called them to order flowers to be sent to Europe. A person named Garry took my phone call and then passed me to a colleague after having told me that he was not familiar with sending flowers to Europe. During the whole time that I was exchanging information with the person taking my order, I could hear Garry talking and laughing very loudly in the background making it difficult to communicate with the person on the phone. Not really what I expected from Scrim's. I did receive in the past flowers from Scrim's and was very happy with what they sent to me.

A fantastic store run by fantastic people. It's somehow even more beautiful and relaxing inside than it looks from outside. I came in today because I had unfortunately killed an air plant that had been gifted to me and I wanted to get a replacement. The owner of the shop took time to (gently) explain to me what I had done wrong, and how to properly care for the replacement (the lighting, potting, water requirements, etc). They set me up with a great little plant. Five stars. Five stars. Five stars. Will absolutely go back, hopefully not for another replacement this time.

Awesome service. Bought 2 roses for $6 each, the guy included side plants, wrapped it in cellophane, then parchment paper, then a layer of plastic for the cold. Also included a package of chemicals to add to the vase, and little vials on the ends of the flowers to keep the hydrated. 10/10 will buy again.

While this florist has an interesting variety of plants and flowers, the prices are far too expensive and unaffordable to most people. It is still worth a visit to check out some of their rare plants but I would not go out of my way. The good news is that the cactus I purchased from here is still alive so at least it appears that their plants are of good quality.

It was and still is my hobby. What a trashy comment to make to a customer. The ones I have are doing great thought. Learn manners when talking to people.
