I go out of my way to get flowers from Dean's. When i was a young girl it was the only place my father would buy flowers for my mother. We would drive to Halifax because he appreciated how professional and knowledgable the staff were. That still holds true today. I have brought brides to be to Dean's and they have been over the top happy with what Holly and her team have produced. My own house was transformed into a summer garden for a party by the Dean's staff. Truly the most beautiful arrangements I have ever seen. You can tell when people love their jobs and it is obvious that the people at Dean's take pride in their work. I can't imagine shopping anyplace else.

Very disappointed that they did not add the plant to my order as I had requested. Once I called they did offer to add but charge me for the plant and no delivery fee but I wanted the gift to go out together. It's my opinion that they should bring the plant out to the hospital to my girlfriend free of charge with an apology. Instead the lady just blamed it on us talking too much and said basically "well sorry" The item I wanted to send my girlfriend they did not have but it was on their website. After about a half hour on the phone she came back and told me that indeed the substitutes were out as well. Given this in the fact that I paid over $100 I feel the plant should be delivered as a courtesy

Over the last year I've purchased numerous bouquets from Dean's and have been very happy with both the service and the beautiful creations! I've given flowers to a few different people who have been quite delighted with their flowers whether it was a plant, a cut bouquet or, in one case, a terrarium! I've also purchased baskets from their sister company The Goody Basket...much to the delight of the folks receiving them...full of unique, gourmet treats! Dean's Flower's has been hanging out on Stanley Street in Halifax for almost 100 years...standing the test of time.

Ordered flowers twice now. Both times Holly and her staff went out of there way to make sure that they had my wife's favorites (freesia). The flowers were stunningly beautiful but more importantly for me, they were carefully arranged with mini-plug vases on ALL the stems to keep them watered during transport. The flowers lasted a very long time (roses were still in full open bloom nearly 10 days later!). Buying "local" is paramount, and this is the place I direct my support.

Worse Customer Service I've seen. My fiancee ordered flowers to be delivered to me as a surprise for valentines day. They told her that they repeatedly called my cellphone and left a message. My fiancee was mad as I haven't received the supposed surprise. I called them up to tell them that I haven't received calls and Voicemail from them. Customer service argued with me that their driver did leave a message. but as I told them I never received any message from them, still argued. Anyways, they told me they will deliver at 6pm as I'm home around 5pm as I told them. Called them back at 6:45pm to check about the delivery. CS just told me that it was taken by their driver already. and just said thank you and hung up on me. I will never recommend this business to anyone as CS is the worse I've ever seen. There tons of other places that have good Customer Service than this flower shop.

I am soooooo disappointed with this company!!! I had ordered flowers for MOTHER'S DAY, for my dear grandmother as I live in Toronto I needed them and paid for them to be delivered ON Mothers Day yesterday! I trusted that this would happen at some point yesterday, but they did NOT even show up at all ALL day yesterday!!!!!!! So upset, I had told family members to make sure they are there ALL day to except the delivery, but no delivery and not even a call to advise me!!!!!!!!!! Horrible!!!!!!!!

I was impressed with my flowers made by Dean's flower, they turned out pretty much exactly what I envisioned. However, they did not have them completed when they were suppose to have been done. My fiancé was originally suppose to pick them up between 9-10am and they were not completed until 2pm. I had sent them an email a couple days prior saying he was to pick them up between 9-10am and have to drive to Cape Breton after that. Having only left Halifax at 2pm, he was late for our planned rehearsal dinner and rehearsal itself. All that was offered for this huge oversight and mistake was a box of chocolates. So I am not willing to give a full good review, as it was extremely upsetting the day before my wedding to have this happen. Had he not been able to stay in Halifax and pick them up at a later time, we would not have had all of our bouquets for all the wedding party.

Very disappointed in the selection available to form a bouquet last week. Then for 4 snap dragons a couple of roses, spider mums and Heather..totaled 70$, went back today as all snap dragons as well as roses were dying or dead. Had nothing but blame on me for picking the flowers .extremely disappointed as I am a big believer and supporter of local businesses. I have even purchased art there.never again

Can't say enough great things about Dean's flowers. The staff are great, awesome customer service. Attention to detail is so important when choosing flowers- something you don't need to worry about with Dean's. The shop has a wonderful, friendly atmosphere as well. I will definitely return.

I had a great experience working with Leah at the downtown location for our wedding last fall. I sent her some photos of what I was looking for and the price range we needed to stay in, and she gave me different options to chose from. I stopped by the day before the wedding and she was more than happy to make a few small changes and make sure everything was perfect. She also gave me a couple flowers for our flower girl to put in her hair, which was greatly appreciated. The bouquets and boutineers were beautiful and exactly what we wanted, and we stayed within our budget. Being able to pick up our flowers the next day from another location that was on our travel route was extremely helpful. We were very happy with the customer service and highly recommend them!

I recently visited Dean’s flowers to order a flower bouquet for my Mother’s birthday. Their website said that they were open until 6pm on Saturday, but they actually close at 5pm. I brought in my own vase to have the bouquet arranged in and suggested I would pay $50 for an arrangement. I was assured that would be plenty to put something very nice together. The delivery was sent on the wrong day, left outside for hours before it was picked up and brought back to the shop. I then arranged for the flowers to be picked up the next day. When I requested my money refunded for delivery as I was now having someone pick them up, I was offered a box of chocolates and had to argue to receive the cost of delivery back. When I arrived home the next day I was extremely disappointed and was embarrassed that this was the gift I gave my Mother for her birthday. The bouquet consisted of four flowers (two purple daisy’s and two yellow flowers, none of which were roses) and the rest of the bouquet was filled with nothing but greenery. Considering the entire purchase was over $60 you can image how frustrated it was to see that got me only four flowers. When I phoned to complain I was told to bring the flowers back and they would “fix them up”. I work during the times in which the flower shop is open therefore it is not convenient for me to drop them off and come back to pick them up and considering the situation I did not feel as though that was a resolution. My Mother’s birthday was Tuesday and flowers were intended for her on that day not days later. I have emailed and called requesting my money to be refunded and have received no response. I have purchased flowers from numerous other flower boutiques (Iris’ and Janet’s) and have never been disappointed. Dean’s was recommended so I thought I would give them a try, but what a mistake that was. I still am mortified that this was what I got for $50 and that the company could care less about rectifying the situation. I would like to give zero stars, but that wasn't an option so that is why I have given one star. I do not recommend purchasing from here if you are looking to brighten someone's day or make someone feel special. You would be better off going to Sobey's where you would get way more flowers for a fraction of the cost. Plus Dean's Flowers purchases all of their flowers from Costco and you can get giant bouquets there for $20 and they last! So now the company has emailed me requesting me to remove my post. I could not receive a phone call back or an email response, but now since it is their request they will respond. When I responded to their email I told them that I would not be removing my post as I did not feel as thought I was treated with respect and the situation was not resolved effectively or efficeniterntly. Please see below their response... Jacqueline, the world is a good place, and the best way to have a happy life is to be positive, and conduct yourself with kindness. If you allow to take over that part of you that feels cheated and wants to make everyone pay for your unhappiness, you will never break free from the bad feelings that would cause you to be so vindictive. You did not conduct yourself reasonably in this situation, but we gave you satisfaction anyway. The right thing to do is to remove your bad reviews. If you choose not to, so be it. I am appalled that this company feels as though they have the right to speak to the type of person I am. The fact that I am being insulted because I, the customer, had a bad experience is in no way going to mend the situation. All this has done is upset me more by insulting my character and bullying me into removing my comment.
