The primary grocery store in Fort Frances. Well stocked and maintained. Good deli area and bakery area. Fresh produce area can be a bit thin at times but through not fault of the store but rather the remote location. A Starbucks is located inside and they sell beer. Friendly and helpful staff.

Was disappointed as usual. I am an air mile collector and try to take advantage of special collector days. Am always disappointed with not all products properly tagged with airmiles tags. Tonite, the Old Dutch tortillas were not marked with the correct flyer price. The till rang 3/$9 rather than 4/$10. And no airmiles showed on my receipt. Had to stay after the store closed to get everything sorted out. The Blue Friday's are getting worse. After shopping them every month for a year, I havent been for the last two. The number of Air Miles given has steadily dropped and the item selection is poor.

Good selection. Never enough registers open at peak times though. I understand things happen and people take sick days and stuff but it seems consistently understaffed. They no longer have plastic bags (new bylaw) and they won't pack your bags for you, so be prepared for that.

(Translated) Large area with a nice variety of choices but no prepared salads offered in bulk (which I would have liked as I was passing through). There is a Starbucks coffee there, which is interesting because there are few cafes in this city. (Original) Grande surface avec une belle variété de choix mais pas de salades préparées offertes en vrac (ce que j'aurais aimé car j'étais de passage). On y retrouve un café Starbucks, ce qui est intéressant car il y a peu de cafés dans cette ville.

Eye-watering Canadian prices and a single 1950's era toilet serving a ton of shoppers with a line that looks like a bakery in Venezuala. Sorry folks, but some bean counter in Ottawa has obviously never had to watch the 5 year old kid in front of them explode because she couldn't wait another 10 minutes for a potty break (or the retiree next in line to go in but who was going to pee on the floor too if he didn't ignore the weeping child). Seriously. How about some portable johns in the parking lot?

I have never been to Safeway in Fort Frances without having to wait forever to pay. I was in trying to buy one container of blueberries and left without them. There were 3 tills open with 3-4 people lined up at each. Including the express. I don't see how opening another till wouldn't have been beneficial, especially considering there were atleast 3 other employees standing around. Poor.

Shelves are normally well stocked, except when they are switching their product to the sobeys items! And moving stuff but if you can’t find something I’d be sure to ask! If you are sensitive to blue florescent light DO NOT use this bathroom, it is blinding. It's probably used to hide the dirty floor. They don't clean this bathroom regularly. The prices on groceries are expensive, understandable when your the only action in town. We made a mistake by coming here instead of our usual store in Emo.

Favorite section is the bakery. Always good stuff. Produce has limited space. The cut fruit section is usually the first section to be emptied. Personal products a bit pricey. Staff are friendly and very helpful.

General manager is a great guy who will bend over backwards to help people out. With that said Sobeys has basically destroyed the Safeway chain and brand. NEVER have anything that is on sale and this has been going on for a year now. Why even bother sending flyers out and wasting money on advertising with fake sales. My suggestions is start at Walmart and The Place. What ever you have not found can finally be found at Safeway potentially..... as long as it is not on sale..... pfff...
