Lovely staff and beautiful flowers.

Amazing and unique arrangements!

Sara Simison

We loved our wedding flowers and got so many compliments on them! They made such a difference in our decor and were gorgeous! We also rescheduled our wedding several times due to the pandemic and Laurel’s was so kind and accommodating each time. I would highly recommend them for your wedding flowers (or any flowers)!!

Elin Laaksonen

Beautiful orchids and lilies, great selection of pots and useful things, great service and staff. Super cute store And Edith love the flower she got!

Super cute shop, on the pricey end for a student

I ordered a bright bunch of flowers on line (from overseas) for my sisters birthday. They were delivered as promised; she loved them and said all her visitors said “wow” when they saw them.. Thank you to the team at Laurels for answering my questions promptly too! The teams’ services are highly recommended.

Sent my mom a bouquet from Toronto and it arrived well within the promised delivery time. I purchased a small, and it was way bigger than I was expecting!!! My only complaint is that I wasn't able to track the order; I got a notification when it was shipped but no notification of delivery (until I got a text from my mom), but this could be more of an issue with Shop's app. Otherwise I'm very happy with my experience and the quality of the flowers.

Reading the previous reviews of poor customer service is not surprising to see after visiting this shop today. Reviews below are from 8 months ago and I experienced this today. Laurel’s would be more appealing if the employees were more social to the customers. Whether greeting or helping out. I’m leaving this advice here, please improve your staff and maybe I will return.

Great selection of flowers. Beautiful floral arrangements, the only place I found with peonies in earlier season.

I just wanted to write to say thank you for your great customer service earlier this month. I had purchased some birthday flowers for a friend and when they arrived to her the vase and one of the lily stems was broken. When I called to let you guys know, you offered a replacement for the next day. (I thought you guys were just going to replace the vase and maybe the stem of flowers) but you brought out a whole other arrangement. Neither I nor my friend were expecting that, and it was really awesome of you guys to do so. I've really been enjoying your company as I've used them a couple times in the past, and I will definitely continue to in the future. That was really exceptional customer service. Thanks a lot!

Cute little floral shop. Expensive but worth it

The only time you should buy a plant from this abysmal store is to save it from dying on the shelf. Prices are incredibly outrageous, save your money because there's lots of other amazing local plant stores.

Erin Gargus

Love this store.

Laura Kusch

I killed the peace lilly I bought here but that's my fault, not theirs.

Mark Wilson

Awesome service, great selection, talented designers.

I'm honestly speechless about how good my wedding bouquet from Laurel's was. I don't know a ton about flowers so I felt like I was a bit vague about what I wanted but somehow they gave me exactly what I was picturing, and it was beyond incredible.

The most beautiful flower arrangements for our August wedding were done by John. Recommended by our wedding planner, John took the time to go over his vision with our colours and theme in mind. After our initial meeting and with many back and forth messaging through email and phone calls (which were answered promptly and quickly) everything we wanted had worked out perfectly. He matched the decor and theme of our wedding to the tee. It was beautiful, elegant and classy nothing was out of place. The flowers and greenery were fresh and stood the night amazingly. My bouquet was gorgeous (I believe there was a flower he thought initially would not be in season but it was in the bouquet that day, so happy to have seen it!). The pricing was reasonable and expected for a wedding of 100 guests, a bridal party of ten and the venue itself. It was more beautiful than what I could have ever imagined! Some of our guests were guessing the flowers alone was priced as much as our entire wedding! That was how extraordinary the arrangements were. John is an amazing artist with much knowledge about flowers and greenery and who has a great sense of style. I will always remember his words "Rest assured, the flowers will look beautiful! We don't do ugly:)" Thank you John from Tony and I for making our wedding a memorable one!

Meh sums up this place. Plants aren't anything special, flowers seemed a bit pricier than I would have expected and the quality seemed only ok. The guy who was helping me seemed snobby, but I guess that's kind of the aesthetic? Lots of interesting perfumes, candles and lotions which were pricier but this didn't affect my rating. They all seemed handcrafted or made by small independent establishments.

Laurels on Whyte has been my go to Florist for the past few years. They have always been very helpful and prompt when I go in there and I love their flower selection. I find their arrangements to be beautiful, unique and well put together and always get so many compliments when I send flowers to someone. It really does make a difference! I got married a few years back out of town and couldn't get them to do my flowers which was a bummer (I didn't like my flowers as much as I would have if Laurel's had done them) but I appreciated the advice John gave me in regards to maintaining them and centre piece ideas.

Laurel's has an excellent selection of fresh flowers and gifts. The flowers are available at a variety of price points and sizes, so you can spend a little or a lot. The staff is very friendly and willing to help you out in picking a bouquet. Parking can be tough, but that's Whyte Ave for you.

Writing this for my girlfriend who unfortunately had an extremely unpleasant experience today. We have been to your store quite a few times and loved the experience, we also love to support local. However, today’s encounter really shows that it really only takes one really poor experience to turn you off from a place. We ordered a product online last night, we came in today to pick up and were told that we needed to wait for a confirmation email, and would need to return later. Although fair if this is the policy, we then could see the product, and that they had a confirmation of the purchase in-hand so asked if it was possible to simply have the product now. The gentleman we were speaking with then reacted extremely rudely and scolded us for even asking. He agreed to arrange the product but was clearly frustrated and angry about needing to do so. Left the store feeling extremely poorly and would be uncomfortable returning. Love the store, but the service today was frighteningly poor.

I've got a beautiful, well priced bouquet for my beloved. Gentleman at the desk provided expert and rapid service. The bouquet has been the central piece of my dinning room for four days now and my partner express joy and happiness about it daily. Will go to Laurel's On Whyte again. Edit: They even thanked me for my review.

Alexander Nachef

Great place. Lots of variety for flowers and other lovely plants. I would have gave it a 5 star but it's honestly pricier than any other flower shops I've been to in the past. The service is great and the pick up time for the flower I bought was extremely fast. I have purchased two things from here and I am happy with it all.

Catherine O'Neill

John & his team have helped us celebrate so many special moments in our own lives and other's from our wedding, romantic moments, or "just because"! We trust them entirely to deliver fresh + beautiful arrangements consistently and at every opportunity! Laurel's has mastered making special moments all the more memorable and is the first shop I recommend to anyone.

Fabulous place for all your flower, plants fix and needs. Also they have the cutest home decor and amazing line fo cream, sopes and candles, so much to see. Don't forget to visit their basement, is full of incredible stuff. I picked up a flower crown for a shoot and oh my god look how cute these turned out

Stephanie La France

Cons: Not a good place to go for plants although the plants they do have are in excellent shape. The succulents aren't labelled except to say that they are succulents (note that some succulents are toxic to pets while others are safe, so labelling is important). Their pricing is way too high for what you get (e.g. one 4" plants are $16 before tax). Pros: I can't speak to their flower situation or pricing, they look like they are in good shape, though. This place offers delivery, which many places don't and their online store is aesthetically pleasing. They are doing an excellent job with COVID regulations. I felt very safe in there.

Wes Inaba

My friend brought me here and I was surprised that this little storefront had so much inside. You can even venture into the basement where there are a whole assortment of things to find. They have a great selection of plants and flowers. It's just a difficult spot for easy access to parking in the Whyte Avenue district.

Lara Callista

A lovely store with fun decor as well as useful things for houseplants AND fun gifts. My kids love it here: they get treated like important people by the staff and the owner.

My husband bought me an $80 bouquet for our anniversary. My go to flower shop was taking a break, so he decided to try here since it's in our neighbourhood. He specifically asked for flowers that were NOT "basic" but it was the most basic bouquet I've seen in a while. a couple gerbera daisies (which both started dying the next day), 2 roses, and some chrysanthemums with basic greens. It was fine, but certainly very basic, and definitely NOT worth $80!!! I have much seen nicer "grower's bunches" from Costco or Save On for $20-$40. No joke! If you are looking for a more elevated or classy selection, check out Mavin and Grave further East on Whyte Ave, or my favourite in the city: Studio Bloom.

Lori Toniolo

I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my daughter’s convocation! I placed a phone order and explained what I wanted, they were absolutely perfect! The bouquet was better than I expected. Thank you!!!

I recently got some evergreen Christmas decorations made here, but unfortunately it really wasn't up to the quality I would have expected for a professional shop nor for the price I paid. I love the shop otherwise and they're always kind, but the price for the quality was quite a surprise. We spent a couple of hours remaking the product into something a little more polished looking which wasn't really something we wanted to do. *EDIT I want to acknowledge that Laurel's did get in touch with me, was very professional and polite, and worked hard to settle things with me. For that I'm raising their review, thanks Laurel's!

Truly one of the worst places I've ever patroned. The customer service was abysmal, we couldn't even get a price check without attitude. When we told all of you, how unwelcomed we felt, we were met with giggles. The guy cutting the flowers was especially rude. When we wanted to talk, face to face, you guys did not want to engage in conversation. Now that we are on a public forum, suddenly you want to communicate? No thanks.

After my recent experience at Laurel’s On Whyte I felt a review was needed. The variety of flowers and gift options is very nice however customer service was of last priority. The friendliness and lack of ambition was quite surprising to me for being in such a customer focused business. This time each year on behalf of my firm I go and pre buy / make arrangements for gifts and flowers to be delivered to our clientele as a thank you gesture for their support over the years. This can be a time consuming ordeal so I typically come in and explain what I want and explore my options and start the ordering process. I was not acknowledged when I came in and when I finally spoke to an employee I got about halfway through explaining my situation before being interrupted and then later on disregarded. My advice to upper management is to teach your team the importance of being friendly, acknowledging customers and to not make them feel like they are taking up time. Never paint each customer with the same brush as that can cost the business quite a lot of money ( in my case ) and to acknowledge everyone. I took my business elsewhere that was more than happy to tailor my needs for the upcoming 2019 year. I hope this can be a learning experience and maybe one day I will come back. Dallas R.

Definitely a very cute flower store. A little bit expensive, but you're going to get a more interesting and better-looking selection here. I have never felt shorted when ordering (and upgrading) a bouquet, which is more than I can say for many of their competitors.

Denise Steier

Walked in at 10:20 am hoping to get morning delivery. Asked about certain flower and then was talked to like I was insignificant. Asked about morning delivery it had went out already they were open for 20 minutes, when voiced looked at like oh well. Snooty male worker at counter spoke to me without making eye contact. Am getting flowers for funeral no sympathy nothing. Don't expect niceness. Just read a response to my review. I read a few other people reviews and see that they too thought male was snobby, have read his responses and see that he takes no responsibility for the way he interacts with people instead he puts it back on the persons misunderstanding of the situation. Cest le vie

I wanted to send my wife flowers for our anniversary. The girl asked what I would like to send and I replied “send something with lots of colours”. The arrangement was delivered on time and I have to admit it’s really quite excellent! My wife was really happy with it and we have a nice start to a date night out. So guys, if your calling to send your wife or girlfriend flowers, just say “send something with lots of colours”, Because somehow they know how to translate that. Thanks Laurels, well done, 2 thumbs up!!

Serena DeMaya

Was in need of a Florist and thought I would try this shop. Was not permitted to enter as they do not allow patrons in without a mask and did not provide any upon entry. Quite simply, they lost business due to this and I will make a point of not returning in the future.

Sarah Wilke

I was in to get a Christmas arrangement for my co-worker. Beautiful flowers, but extremely snobby atmosphere in here. I ended up going elsewhere.

Frida Pinto

I wanted to support a local business and went to get a bouquet of flowers from this place. I was in a rush so didn't have time to go elsewhere, but on a Saturday for many flowers to look at least a couple of days and yet be so incredibly expensive is taking advantage of their customers. I asked for the price of a single stem of a pretty common flower and they wanted $10 per stem which had two tiny flowers on it and rather wilted at that. I mentioned to them about their flowers not looking too fresh and was told that "it depends on the type of flower ". Well, as a customer I want fresh. What a shame as I won't be back there!

The flowers are good quality, considering the price, and the shop itself it quite lovely and quaint. This was the first time that I had been into Laurel’s, and was quite taken aback by the lack of tact from one of the employees, almost bordering on rudeness. After looking at other reviews, it appears as though I am not the only one. Secondly, I was very disheartened when I realized how much wrapping they use for a single, four stem bouquet: tissue paper, cellophane, staples, polyester ribbon, and a sticker. When I got home to unwrap the flowers to put in a vase, I found out that most of the wrapping wasn’t even really necessary, as each stem had its own individual plastic water vial. I can certainly understand why this would be done if a bouquet was a gift. However, as a shop that is located off Whyte, one of the trendiest/hippest areas in Edmonton, you think there would be more environmentally-friendly initiatives on their part. Perhaps by asking a customer if they would like a bouquet gift-wrapped, waste could potentially be avoided.

Leah Rooyakkers

I live and breathe flowers, have been in the industry for a long time, and I haven't received poor customer service of this calibre from a boutique flower shop before. The girl working the counter cut me off multiple times and treated me as if I was stupid. Good customer service means listening. I don't think I would shop there again which is too bad b cause I buy a lot of flowers!

Linnea Lapp

I've been going to Laurel's for years, and have always enjoyed shopping there. I can always find something for myself or for a gift, no matter how much I'm aiming to spend. It's clear the staff are knowledgeable about the product they carry; they can always answer questions about caring for plants and flowers, which is a huge help for making flowers last as long as possible. I'm especially impressed with how they've kept things running so smoothly considering the restrictions placed on businesses during the covid-19 pandemic. I'm very happy to be able to continue supporting this local business during this tough time!

Sylvia McConnell

We were blown away with the wedding bouquet that Laurel's created! It was a beautiful work of art! The most exquisite flower arrangement I have ever seen!

Allison Scott

Thank you for always having the best market special flowers for someone like me who likes to brighten up their house sometimes on a budget. Everyone who works there is always kind and helpful!

Leigh Smith

Laurel's is a gorgeous store and their instagram account is so cute. Unfortunately the staff don't seem to care about greeting you, or customer service. They act completely disinterested in your business, every time I go it's the same cold, unfriendly service.

Liane Waugh

The most beautiful flowers! The process of ordering wedding flowers was efficient and uncomplicated. The owner John is very involved and hands-on to ensure customers get exactly what they want! Will definitely use them again.

I ordered a "pride" themed arrangement for a friends buisness opening and it was simply stunning!! The lady i spoke with on the phone was so friendly and instantly picked up on where I was going. Amazing value for the $$. I've ordered from Jon's shop numerous times and always been happy, but you all outdid yourselves this time ????????????????????❤ thank you!

This place is awful. There's an incredibly rude gentleman working there and the merchandise is overpriced for what it is. I'm pretty sure I've seen some of their things sold at Winners.

Update: After talking with Laurels which was super quick and very surprising and understanding they were quick to remedy the problem. I've never seen such wonderful service and I will be getting future arrangements from them

A tiny floral shop with lovely arrangements and plant decor pieces. They additionally carry a selection of perfumes by TokyoMilk, well worth an in depth exploration on its own. And don't forget to take a gander through the lower level, filled with gems.

I have to confess that I did not shop around for a florist after getting engaged because Laurel's on Whyte has been my go to spot for years and I knew they would do a wonderful job. They exceeded our expectations. John was very organized at our initial consult and helped expand and give direction to my ideas. I had proposed hoop bouquets for the flower girl and bridesmaids, which turned out absolutely beautiful. In the weeks leading up to the wedding emails were answered promptly to answer any questions or confirm final details. The final total was well within our budget, especially after John made some adjustments to the types of flowers we used for table centers. Instead of favours we gave away the majority of our flowers at the end of the night, our family and friends loved them. We would highly recommend Laurel's on Whyte as a wedding florist or any other occasion!

Ashley Woywitka

I ordered the most stunning bouquet for my mom for Mother's Day. She said it was the most beautiful arrangement she had ever received, which is perfect because that's exactly what I was going for. I also received an arrangement myself recently and just loved it. It's so nice to find a local flower shop that does such unique and beautiful, high quality arrangements. I've found my new go to!

Tina Lam

Wanted to support a local business for my mom's birthday instead of going to a big retailer and was very disappointed. There wasn't a lot of room on the website to add special requests. I didn't want any white flowers for cultural reasons. Never received a call or email or text to say if that was possible or not. So I called in and asked and the gentleman said that the white flower was removed. Didn't tell me if it was replaced or what it was replaced with. I asked that it not be chrysanthemum and he tersely replied that I hadn't specified that. I explained that there wasn't enough room on the website and that I thought someone would call me. He said "fine, I'll take it out". I asked if there were any on there, and he said he didn't know. All in all it was not a very pleasant phone interaction. When I went to pick up it looked like the flowers had seen better days and were a little brown along the edges. The "white flower" was replaced with a yellow carnation - which I thought was tacky and cheap. It was also a rose instead of an orchid which was the main reason why I ordered it. The gentleman was completely unapologetic and just said that "it says on our website". The lady there was very sorry and said that they just didn't have any orchids right now. I'm aware that the website says "Flower varieties are dependent on availability." but it would have still been nice to have been advised when I called about my order. I really like the arrangements on the website and I found the price to be reasonable. I really wanted this to be my go to place, but I guess I will have to find someplace else.

Oh man oh man. I ordered flowers for mothers day last year (I’m overseas). They delivered them without a card and they did NOT look as expected. My mum was so confused who they were from, until I asked her if she got them. Since there was no card, I couldn’t even remember their name to get in touch, review, anything. But it just came up on my email today by chance, and I finally get my chance. Avoid them. Edit: I’ll bump this up to 3 stars, cause actually the vases were quite cute, and they did follow one request I made. I couldn’t track it on my card, as I moved overseas, I was busy. Shortly after the order, I closed my bank account entirely (cause I am overseas…). Tried to find an email, couldn’t recall which email I used (that IS on me). I don’t care about confirmation of delivery. The flowers WERE delivered. But like I said… there was no card.. anywhere. My mum searched up and down and found nothing. My brother searched left and right. Nothing. My mum was a childcare provider, and up until I called her, she thought it was from one of the parents of the kids she cared for… there was literally no card. I’m really not looking for any sort of compensation here, I just wanted to share what MY experience was. Even if I had found my email… I shouldn’t have to reach out and let you know that the flowers weren’t great and that you completely missed giving my mum a card (the part that annoys me even more tbh). That’s not on me, I find it odd that you think it is…

Matt Gould

Very overpriced for the quality and horrible customer service. The guy working there was interested in anything other than helping customers in the store. Sorry for inconveniencing you by spending money in this store. I will not be back.

Nissi G.

Ordered a bouquet from overseas for my cousin who gave birth, everything was so smooth from placing the order in their website, to accomodating my requests in email. The response is very quick and friendly! Everything including delivery only took 2 days! The flower was soo gorgeous, taking into account my request and more! Shoutout to John who assisted me! Highly recommended. <3

Was sent a sympathy arrangement for my mother who recently passed away. One of the flowers arrived half missing and by the next morning a huge pile of petals had fallen off and the rest just looks dried out. There’s dry dead pieces all over the stems. The shop made some excuse that the flowers were fresh and now has ghosted and won’t even respond. Spend your money elsewhere. This shop stops caring once they get your money.

Laurel's On Whyte floral shop in Edmonton does not disappoint! Ordering floral arrangements from Calgary for a friend in Edmonton couldn't have been easier, either online order or by phone. Last Christmas, when I left ordering flowers to the very last minute, and when other florists in Edmonton were not able to fulfil my order, Laurel's came through with no issues at all, even though my order was the week before Christmas. Realizing that their stock had been depleted by then (they didn't have anything left in red), and that their staff was harried and being rushed off their feet, I simply asked for a festive floral arrangement at their own choosing with what they had to work with, within my price range, and to have it delivered in time for Christmas. The owner himself assured me that they'd have it delivered on time. Left to their own creative devices, the arrangement turned out stunning and, coincidentally, it's light pastel colours matched my friend's Christmas tree's ornamentals almost perfectly! We couldn't have been happier with it. The photo attached here is the latest arrangement which I ordered for my friend's birthday. As she is originally from Mexico, I asked that the bouquet have a good variety of colours contained within it. Again, they came through with a beautiful and varied assortment of flowers. My friend was delighted with both the surprise and the bouquet, as was I when I received this photo. Laurel's On Whyte remains my trusty "go-to" florist in Edmonton.

Such a Beautiful Flower shop and it has some great goodies downstairs too! I have purchased Beautiful flower arrangements from here a few times...and have never been disappointed - you won't be either!

Great local shop!

Linda Shakoori

My mom LOVED her flowers this mother's day!! Thank you so much! What beautifully organized, presented and fragrant flowers. SO impressed. Will buy flowers again and again and again from here.

Laurels did my wedding in 2014 and it was perfect! the most beautiful bouquets and boutonnieres I could have hopped for! Today at my work a good long time patient of ours suffered an incredible loss to her family and we called laurels to send a bouquet to show our condolences. I will never use a corporate company as long as local business like Laurels are around! Wonderful service and high quality products.

Sagal Yusuf

If I had an option to give no stars, I would. I’ve never walked into a store and felt less welcome. It wasn’t closing time, early in the morning. I even expressed that their environment was unwelcoming and one of the employees laughed. I don’t know if this is everyone’s experience or if this is the type of treatment they reserve for groups of black women. If you are a Muslim black women, spend your money elsewhere or at least be prepared for a hostile environment.

Tam

Unique aesthetic and falls right in line with the general vibe of whyte

Iris Timbangcaya

Did not like the first bouquet, so John (the owner) called me and offered to send another bouquet for free the next day to make up to it. I really did appreciate that gesture, hopefully it wouldn't have to come to that situation again. The second set of bouquet was gorgeous. Thank you John!

Marivic Sirikoone

I made the mistake of buying and trusting this local shop. The quality of the bonsai tree was poor then bunny ornament was damaged. Poor customer service, never want to step foot into this store ever again. Spend your money elsewhere there’s other stores that you will get better quality their prices aren’t justified by quality. John was so kind to reach out by email but contradicts himself when he points blame on the customer. I ended up just writing this off as a bad experience so I wouldn’t have to step foot in the store again. Take it from me DONT waste your time and money stay away from Laurels on Whyte.

Laurel's team provided the flowers at my wedding a few years ago and my husband and I still speak fondly of them. From our vague suggestions, John was able to piece together exactly what I wanted and within our budget. The delivery service was perfectly and thoughtfully executed. Probably the least stressful and most satisfying part of my wedding planning.

Henk ten Wolde

Nice place for your cut flowers, especially when they are from Holland

Kyla Reid

Beautiful dozen red roses received for this V-Day.

I booked with John on Laurel’s On Whyte to do my flowers and centrepieces for my wedding on January 25. It was an amazing experience, during the consultation he listened to every tiny detail I had and gave amazing ideas. When the wedding day finally arrived and I got see the beautiful creation he had designed they were breath taking! I would recommend them to everyone!!! There flowers are so beautiful and the customer service is impeccable!!

Shannon Raabis

Thank you to John and his team for the gorgeous arrangements! My daughter’s wedding was canceled due to Covid but John was able to rework the proposal he gave us for another event and we are thrilled with the results! The initial consultation was really fun! John did a great job of taking the ideas we had and making recommendations.
