The layout of groceries is nothing like the other Safeways. Aisle signs hanging from the ceiling are not very helpful. First time in this store and it took me forever to find ketchup. I probably won't go there often because it's on the other side of the city. I stopped there because my daughter lives close to it.

Usually has really fresh produce they actually rotate their stock so you almost never see expired things on the shelf in fact they are normally put on 1/2 price a few days before things expire if you are looking for a deal, same with the fresh bakery on site with their bread and desserts if you're going to use it right away. Watch for all the sales and store and airmiles coupons...they really add up and even if you don't travel the dream rewards are great too. I'm thrilled with the new drivable cart for disabled guests the old one broke down constantly and was extremely old however on the plus side of a bad situation all of the employees there and their customer service at Safeway is top notch whenever that happened(s) to anyone they happily find a staff member to finish your shopping after one has collected your things and had someone else get the broken cart. So I have to give them credit for that. They are super friendly. My only complaint is that they only bought one drivable cart there are often times more than one person needs it. And unfortunately for them the store across the street gave to the pressure of only having 4 accessible parking spaces fairly quickly and they tripled them at least and they are still always full so the increase was clearly needed. They already had more than one drivable cart but also added more of those at the same time so you're more likely to get one there and unfortunately sometimes that means having to go to a more accessible place. However they always offer to carry out my stuff for me and there customer service and fresh bakery and produce are fantastic. Sorry I didn't get a picture.

Bought a tray of salads (coleslaw, macaroni and potato) ate part of the macaroni salad which was fine. Had two bites of the potato salad and tasted mold on second bite. Immediately returned to the store and brought it to customer service for return. After telling the woman of my experience she brought it to the cook who made it (apparently ). She returned saying that they had tasted it and it wasn't moldy. I told her that I had two bites and it was only the second bite, which I spat out, that had the distinct taste of mold. She mumbled something about a free meal and then said everybody's tastes are different. In the end I did receive a full refund but I didn't appreciate being accused of lying for a free meal. Rude service, moldy food. One star is too much.

This is the place I normally come for Starbucks. Although I don’t usually buy things from Safeway unless something catches my eye while getting Starbucks. Today, I went to go get my coffee, and I saw something I wanted. I learnt today do not pick anything up while waiting for your coffee or they will treat you like a shoplifter. So go to Safeway’s just for their coffee, not their grocery’s or you will be treated like a shoplifter. (Great Starbucks staff tho!!)

Came to this location for a small cake to celebrate my sister and her husband 12 year anniversary of when they began dating. It was late at night and I stole an amazingly sweet staff member who escorted me through the store to find purchases, as well as grabbed beer for me on a high shelf. He then helped me choose a cake and grabbed a manager who then allowed me to personalize the cake with some icing. Location is great, staff is amazing, sote is clean, and no complaints during this experience.

I usually like this store because they always have the yogurt I prefer. But on my last visit they were almost out of yogurt and I ended up buying my second choice. No big deal, I thought and continued shopping. But then I went to the meat department for some ground beef. It was empty, literally empty. There were huge expanses of completely empty meat coolers. For ground beef, all they had was two packages of regular grade and one of them definitely looked off. I couldn't believe it.

I have to say I love visiting the Starbucks, but have found that Safeway itself does not have a great selection. The worst part is the deli/salad/sandwich/hotfood area. It seems that there are always 3 to 4 staff working yet each time I have visited a line forms and only one individual will be assisting customers while others look from the back and hide from the public. Also serious lack of knowledge when asking about which salads are vegan.. Was told an entire case was vegan that contained eggs, cheese, etc.

I went to this store at around 5:30 pm on October 1st, 2017 to pick up a few things, among which was a six=pack of beer. I got to the check out line and had to wait for over 20 minutes to be checked out. By this time it was 6:09 pm. I was told that they could not sell beer after 6 pm on Sundays. I said I have been waiting in line for over 20 minutes and they should put the beer through as I was in line before the 6 pm witching hour. No dice.No checkers on at least 75% of the aisles. I walked out and let then restock the cart of groceries. After this treatment I will no longer shop at Safeways on Dawson Road. I have been spending $1000's of dollars a year there, but no more. Good bye Safeways.

I go here all the time just because it's on my way from work I also like it that they have prepped meals so sometimes I go there and get chicken or chicken rice and it's already made I just have to heat it up a sandwich is off to the side or great cuz it's like $6 and it feels you're more than a footlong at Subway so if you want to save money that's a good way to do it there are things that are overpriced but that really good deals I just got honeycomb there last week for $2.50 and it was the family size one

I called the bakery at 6:02 pm and was told it was closed at six. I explained that I was on hold at Arthur street for ten minutes and I had been in to Arthur street two previous times and no one was in the bakery. She said she couldn’t help me because there was no one in the bakery to take my order. I was an avid Safeway’s shopper even though the prices are higher than most stores because the service was better. I don’t think that is the case any more and I will do my shopping at grocery stores that have the same service and cheaper prices. Here is a thought..... have order forms for the bakery at the customer service desk for when the bakery closes!
