Ordered some flowers for my 93 yr. old mother's birthday on Easter Sunday. I gave Avondale what I thought was a reasonable budget to work with. I was very disappointed with the "bouquet" my mother received. I feel like the bulk of the money was spent on the vase (too large for the few flowers that were in it) and the delivery charges. Would definitely think twice about placing another order sight unseen!

Horrible, disgusting behaviour when inquiring about a bouquet that hadn’t been delivered for a relatives funeral yet. From reading other reviews I see that this despicable behaviour is a common occurrence and can not understand how a person lacking such compassion and decency could be the owner of a business. I wouldn’t recommend Avondale Flowers to anyone. There are many wonderful flower shops around Belleville who I guarantee will treat you with much more respect than what you would receive here. I cannot stress enough how awful our experience with Avondale has been.

I ordered stems from these guys back in August for my wedding, because I wanted to do my flower arrangements myself. I gave them only a bit of instruction, and asked for a flower crown as well. The day before my wedding, I come in to see they've given me 100 beautiful red roses! We had some beautiful yellow flowers and some greenery as well, and the flower crown was absolutely gorgeous, everything I was hoping it would be. Thank you, Avondale, for providing the beautiful flowers for my wedding! <3 10/10, would order again!

The flowers are reasonably priced and always BEAUTIFUL. Not only are the flower gorgeous, but they last! I live a few hours away because of University but I use Avondale to send flowers to my mother. They are absolutely wonderful and it takes 5 minutes maximum to have the flowers set up to be delivered the next day. The arrangements they make are outstanding. They also did my corsage and boutonnière for prom and they were beautiful. Best flower shop in town with the most lovely staff!

I had a very disappointing experience with this flower shop. My mother ordered me an arrangement from Avondale through her local flower shop in another province. They called to arrange a delivery but never showed. I phoned them a couple of days later to let them know I never received the delivery. The woman who answered the phone said she would look into it and call me back. She never called back. My mother followed up with her local shop who called them multiple times and emailed them, never receiving a response. Finally, nearly two weeks later, they managed to reach Avondale and they promised to deliver me a “spectacular” arrangement later that day. I did receive a bouquet of carnations and mums; nice enough, but not exactly spectacular and no apology. This shop might be fine if you’re going in and buying flowers or a plant in person and taking them with you. However, based on my experience, I would choose a different shop if you’re planning on having flowers delivered, especially if you want them delivered for a special occasion on a specific date.

My husband and I used Avondale for our wedding - they did an INCREDIBLE job! Not only were they patient with our last-minute booking, the flowers were perfect and we had complements on them all night! The team is friendly, professional, and very skilled. Last minute, we decided to put together a photo area using a large white wall on the venue, Mary not only made a beautiful tropical backdrop, she helped connect us to the perfect couch. That ended up being where my favorite photo from the wedding was taken. 5/5!

I buy flowers a few times a year here for special occasions, never had a problem with this shop. Flowers have been fresh and lasted a very long time. I have read some of the negative reviews, but that has not been my experience. The ladies that work there have been very nice and the flowers are beautiful. Yes, I would reccomend this place to friends and family.

Honestly, if I was able to give ZERO stars, I most certainly would and had I not last minute had a bomb shell dropped on me, I would have walked right out of the store, at the second the "owner" opened her intellectually redundant mouth because she had NO idea what she was talking about and was talking all over the place. Also with absolutely no concept of knowledge regarding her OWN business! Nor how to have a simple conversation without making my husband and I feel EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE but then we were saved by the ONLY person who not only was extremely pleasent, knowledgeable and was able to convince us, by not only reassuring us about the quality of the product but she stood by her employer and her employers business, as if it were her own and assured us they would arrange the arrangements to the best quality work that they always do! Which she most certainly did! The younge lady had long beautiful hair, glasses and slightly shorter then the average but had the biggest personality and refreshed us with her bright, positive attitude! Although the arrangements were absolutely gorgeous, when they were delivered by another young lady, she was actually going to leave them with our neighbors because we apparently didn't go to the door "fast" enough! So our neighbors brought them to us while the lady was leaving and then informed us that all they smelled was alcohol on the lady's breath! Had we been able to get the license plate before she had sped off, we would have most certainly informed the police! Whah, all I know is she must be related to the owners because she was a complete disgrace, as she seemingly was driving under the influence of alcohol and was actually going to leave our arrangements with neighbors, whom could have left at some point leaving us without our arrangements for the time needed! With this being said, I would NEVER recommend Avondale Flowers to ANYONE and my family and friends will surely NEVER go to the horrible establishment again but I truly hope to see the young lady who served us again in different circumstances, so that we can thank her for HER business because she should have been the one running the place, that's for sure!

This review is based on the quality of flowers and the look of the arrangement. I was in on Saturday and they lasted until Tuesday. flowers did not last like I thought they would. Usually when I change the water and clean the stems they last 1-2 weeks! friendly staff but expected more quality.

My bouquet looked like somebody just jammed flowers haphazardly into a small vase. With nothing to hold them together (no sponge!) they were falling out of the vase. And box of chocolate... never arrived at all.

I just got married September 21st, 2019 and had Avondale as my florist. Mary and her team worked tirelessly to ensure that my vision was captured and they did an ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL job. Everyone was talking about how beautiful the flowers were! I had multiple people ask me if I got the flowers from Toronto and I advised them that I used, Avondale, an incredible florist just up the street ;) One aunt even cried because the flowers were so beautiful! I am so grateful to Mary and her team as they played a huge role in making this day the most special day of my life. I ordered 2 prom corsages over the phone for pick up and had a friend deliver them to us on her way to Ottawa. Once again we received a beautiful product. Terrible disrespectful service. I ordered flowers for my mother in laws funeral that were supposed to be delivered on Friday. I went to the funeral home early Saturday and discovered that the flowers had not arrived. Burke funeral home said they would call but I decided to go to your store in person. When I got there at 10:25 there was a sign on the door that said “open at 10:30. I waited with another customer and at 10:40 I found a gentleman in the yard and I explained my situation. He said “let’s go inside and figure this out.” When I stepped in the store and simply asked about the flowers the owner raised her voice and pointed her finger at me and said “ get out of my store right now.” I said “ why are you being so disrespectful” and the owner said “ get out of my store right now your flowers will get there.” I started crying and said “ thanks for your compassion” and the owner replied “ you are welcome” I will also mention that the other customer walked out without ordering anything and said to me “ I have never witnessed anything so disrespectful in my life.” I have frequented your store on several occasions and can promise you that I will never buy another flower from you and I am spreading the word in small town Belleville. I will as I will alSo mention that I paid 120.00 for a bouquet that looked like it should have been 60.00.

Awful service. Very disrespectful to my mother on the day of my grandmothers funeral. Yelled at her and pointed at her to get out of the store when she came to pick up flowers BECAUSE they weren’t ever dropped off at the funeral home the time they were supposed to (the day before). When the flowers did arrive they were half the size we paid for. I also ordered flowers here a year ago and they were unprofessional , had to wait forty five minutes at the location for them to complete the order even though they were ordered two weeks in advance. Will not be returning.

Very disappointed with the poor service provided. The arrangements are acceptable but are not to the standard of their pricing. But really the main thing that would keep me from ever giving this company my business is the fact that when something goes wrong instead of taking accountability and attempting to rectify the situation they instead refuse to acknowledge any error and then take ridiculous efforts to attempt to bury any negative reviews. An employee is only a human and it is unrealistic to expect that nobody will ever have a bad day or make a bad choice, the distinguishing feature between great businesses and those that are less than satisfactory is how they handle these situations, which is why I’m leaving one star.
