Dear Sobeys, I love you but you were misleading and you made me sick. Literally. I know, I know, it is mostly my responsibility to check ingredients before I purchase things but sometimes after a long exhausting day of work, I forget. How dare I assume that the frozen pizza I bought from the freezer containing all gluten free items in your gluten free section was in fact gluten free. Celiac shoppers beware: the seemingly carefully arranged gluten free section is not what it appears to be. Or maybe someone made a careless mistake. I know I did, and I suffered! On a lighter note, I can't believe the staff in the store actually ask you if you're finding everything you need, or if you need assistance. What a wonderful, refreshing, grocery store experience. No one does that. Just Sobeys. Good job, team.

So this grocery store used to give military discounts for current serving members which was beyond awesome! They've since stopped offering this discount but still hang military unit flags all over their location which is still cool, but why would you pull that discount after offering it for so long

Ok. Fresher doughnuts than timmys. For a local grocer it is the best Jerry, just the best! Really it takes a lot to run a store and these people do try. Used to have a percentage off for underpaid military and veterans. Do you know the army guys don't have a grocery store and have to travel to Edmonton for a pork chop and potatoes? Be kind and ask the store to reinstate the kindness scratched out by the Safeway merger. It must cost 20 bucks round trip for fuel to get there. We appreciate the service for our country.

Although the staff at check out did their jobs well, the prices are rediculous. What I mean is I saw products not offered in a small town Wallmart at almost double price., As an example, a pharma particular personal product package at rural Walmart of 43 sells for $24.00, in this Sobeys was 27 for $21.00. It is obvious by not selling the larger product they have jacked up the half size to almost the same price. They had more selection on meats, they had an OK pet section (most Sobeys seem woefully inadequate), large vegetable section, and many tills open. I get that all those things add more cost, but it was a huge store serving the North End of Edmonton, they should be at least more competitive on quantity sales.

This sobeys is awesome. Service is great. I've been going here for a very long time. This dobeys is different. Staff there get to know you. They pack your groceries for you. It feels like you are in a small town. They also have hidden specials. So make sure that you walk around and check. Try their rotary chicken, always on special on Mondays. Very tasty and delicious. Their grab and go section is yummy. And they have such an awesome bakery. Lots of selection. The meat section. Is good. Love the sausages Good fruits and vegetables Highly recommend this sobeys

It is my favorite Sobeys in the city. Doesn't matter what time you are there the Staff are friendly and helpful. I love their Bakery selection and their Fresh Produce is top notch. I have never had an issue with the Dairy products going bad before it's expiry date. They offer a great selection of products. My only complaint is not only the size of their card section (way too small) but also it's location. Right at the exit past the tills is not very conducive to selling them.

I am BEYOND livid right now! I have come by 3 times this week for a beverage that wasn’t in stock. Had a guy inform me last night when I came in that it would be stocked tonight. I live out of town. This is ridiculous! Then had one of your reps look in the back and said there’s too many pallets back there and could get someone else to look. I’m not waiting any longer when I worked a full day. Your staff should have not misinformed me yes you have stock. But you’ll have to wait for it? Gimme a break! This week has been the worst especially when your beverage of choice isn’t available and you have to settle for the next best (not purchased at your location for my bitterness) Want to leave off on a positive note though. I always come to this location for the fresh meat. Rib eyes. Amazing cuts!

Probably the worst Sobeys location I've ever shopped at. Bought some meat (steaks and ribs) and went to customer service to pay. Joleen made a disgusted face and said that she would never eat this stuff??? This is a customer service supervisor? I've never been insulted at a grocery store before. We were in the neighborhood and decided to stop in for a few groceries. Once at the checkout and after we watched a few customers go through, we asked the cashier if she could wipe down the belt. She informed us that she didn't have to after each customer and didn't wipe it down. During further conversation with her, we learned that they stopped wiping down the belt after every customer before Christmas! (When Covid cases were high) because customers were complaining about the wait. So this store is clearly not worried about its employees or customers...we will not be back, now or after covid.

Found the layout of the store to be really busy, cluttered, overwhelming, and not set up well. Poor selection- Not a really a great variety of some items like catfood, diapers (example - only 1 kind of a product when there are multiple flavors, sizes etc). Also, was there at noon and it was really picked over and not restocked. Really narrow checkout lines and huge carts

The cakes here are delicious and we order one for pretty much every birthday. My young son's birthday was coming up so we placed an order a week and a half ago and my husband specified what we wanted more than once. Today he went to pick it up and it wasn't anything like we asked. He told them and told customer service and no one cared. Being as today is the birthday we had no choice but to spend money on a cake we didn't want.

I used to shop here 3-4 time a week. We would spend anywhere from $2200-$3000/mth. We have done that every year for nearly 10 years. Even during the pandemic, when they weren't inforcing the mask mandate. I should also mention that the ONLY reason that I shopped there was because my mom is an employee. I could save myself a LOT of money shopping at Wal-Mart, or even the Newcastle Sobeys which is cheaper! So for 10 years I would go, do my shopping and choose which cashier I would go to. Sometimes I would go to my mom's checkout, sometimes I would go to others. It had never been a problem. Every member of management has seen me being checked out by my mom; including the GM and The owner. Suddenly this Sunday it was a problem. A Sobeys staff member, pretending not to know who I was, told me; as a consumer, that I can't have my mom checkout my groceries. The manner in which it was done was offensive. When I called to speak with the GM about the issue of customer service, my concern with how I was treated was brushed aside for the issue of how it was against company policy to have staff check out immediate family members. Then when the conversation got heated, she hung up on me. I, a loyal customer for 10 years who has recommend people shop at this Sobeys, was hunag up on by senior management. My family will no longer be shopping at this Sobeys. I will give my money and my business to Wal-Mart and Sobeys Newcastle.

Nice Sobeys. This is not my usual store that I shop at but Sobeys is very consistent with their stores. The staff here is friendly and helpful. The store is well lit and clean. It’s your typical grocery store. Prices are reasonable and always good sales on. I like Sobeys also because they have Air Miles which I collect. I really like Sobeys a lot and mostly shop at my local store in Belmont.

I used to shop in this location all the time, however since the 127th street location opened, I switch to shopping there as it closer to home for me. I was in this store on the Saturday before Christmas, needless to say it was a very busy place at the time. I shop here frequently three to four times per wèek and I have always had good service. The staff is very professional and knowledgeable. The shelves are usually well stocked, there are a few times though item I pick up frequently were out of stock but was advised the items will be in store in a couple of days. Even though I think it's a good idea to charge for bags to help protect the environment, I still appreciate not paying for the bags up front.

I have recently been really comparing prices between the Save On and Sobeys in Namao, and they are very comparable even though up front Save On appears to be less expensive. Our bill always ends up being very close while getting the same items each week, give or take a few things. PLUS - the bakery selection always seems to be better at Sobeys. PLUS - they have Coffee Mate at Sobeys and not Save On. MINUS - they don't have Wonderbread at Sobeys, but have it at Save On.

I had a lunch to plan for 50 people and ordering from the entertainment catelgoue was a nightmare on my part. Kirk the store manager and the deli manager contacted me in the evening to discuss my order as they had concerns. I asked if I could come in the next day to discuss my options. They were so very attentive and wanted to ensure my lunch was a success. They didnt upsell me, ensured there was enough for my guests and made very good suggestions that were not in the catelgoue but keeping within my budget. Dont use the catelgoue. Go in and order in person. The deli and bakery staff were also very accommodating and nice. I went for a couple of personal items afterwards and the grocery staff asked me if I needed help. This is the best customer experience I have ever had!

This Sobeys is one of the only places I trust to find fresh bakery, produce and meat products. They're one of the few stores left that have trained bakers on staff making bread from scratch, rather than just throwing frozen dough in the oven. Their donuts are made fresh and fried in store, and you can taste the difference. I wish it wasn't so pricey, but it's worth it knowing they're using that money to employ good people to make fresh product!

I haven't been to sobeys lately because their competitors have better prices. I went in for a few items and the line up to pay went all the way to the back of the store. No surprise they only had 2 isles with cashiers working. I don't know how stores get away with this during covid. They have huge lines with people just standing around the groceries you are trying to buy because they have no where else to go. Impossible to social distance when they let the line up get that long. And because its sobeys you are paying a premium to shop there - No thanks I'll go somewhere else next time

I called the store to express inquire as to why they allowed people into the store who were not wearing masks even though it poses a safety hazard to other customers. Day one: I spoke to the manager on duty, who said he couldn't help me and to call the next day. Day two: I spoke to the assistant manager who said he couldn't help me and that I needed to speak to the manager. Day three: I spoke to the manager who identified himself as Kirk. He told me that he was simply following Sobey's policy and that he had no say in policy. I asked who I could speak to who had influence over policy. He said that would be "Ted" the director of operations. He then told me he could not give me Ted's contact information, but would pass the message along, but wasn't sure Ted would call me. After a week, guess what? Ted hasn't called. After over 20 years of buying my groceries from Sobeys Namao Center, I will not set foot in the store any longer. This level of customer service is appalling.

This is my closes grocery store in my new moved neighbour hood walking distance first time there we where accused of shop lifting due to our appearance I have tattoos and my wife is pregnant and indigenous I called the. Right out about it and they admitted anyways now we drive over to save on food or any other grocery store which anoys me cause it's so close there security guard tried to handcuff my pregnant wife while she was walking our baby it was very embarrassing for nothing.

Poor pricing. They need to do a better job of competing with superstore and other grocery stores. Even the dollar store sells many of the same brands for 1/3 to 1/4 the price. Sobeys has a poor choice of organic veggies and it's gluten free section is hard to find, it's mixed in with all the other organic grains.

Lines are sometimes longer than necessary, as more cashiers could be used. They used to offer a military discount but pulled the offer, which was disappointing and resulted in me only rarely shopping here now.

Bad merchandising: price tags anyone?

Staff were nice, meat selection was pathetic, and I am not some strange off hours shopper, it is 230pm on a Friday. I will not be back unless no other choice is available

Not the cheapest prices but better than Save-on-Foods, and better selection too. The prices are not the cheapest but the service is the best and in my books that is also very important. Staff are friendly and helpful.

I wish they were as fancy as other sobeys I've seen with more selections. But, I like the place still.

It's a grocery store. I'll say this for Sobeys, the selection in the fresh cut meat section is very good.

Cashiera are usually fast and friendly. The crowd on Sundays isn't as heavy, which is nice.

Its great that they are opened early for seniors but unfortunately lacking in Cashiers. Seniors be prepared to stand and wait to pay. It took me longer to pay then fill my cart with $115 worth of over priced food. Definately will be going else where!

Would not return a product that was bought at a sobeys with receipt. As is was not purchased at this particular location even though I was just looking for exchange. Was not looking for a refunded just an exchange or in store credit. Not impressed. Now I have to drive to the other location to return my item and buy my groceries for the week. Lost a $200 grocery bill because you wouldn’t exchange a $5. Because “we’d be at a loss for the item as we would have to throw it out” (the item purchased didn’t work).

This is my home Sobeys and I’m biased to it. Nevertheless it is a large Sobeys with a ton of selection especially in the produce and baking area. Just wish the small carts were more available!
