Be prepared to freeze inside of the market. There are alot of fish companies to choose from, take your time, walk around and then decide. Ask questions, dont rush to buy anything if you're unsure. Wear warm clothing during the winter time; There is a $2 entrance fee and wear rain boots.

What a great experience, sent the bundle with lobster tails and fresh scallops as well as some salmon and salmon planks to two very special seafood lovers... It arrived fresh, on time and I was told they were the best scallops they had ever tasted. That's a huge compliment as I consider them scallop connoisseurs! They have claimed they will now use the New Fulton Fish market as their go-to seafood supplier and I will as well. The icing on the cake? They didn't even ask me to write this review- it just deserved 5 stars for exceeding expectations.

I just received my first order from Fulton! I ordered on line on Saturday and it arrived at my door on Wednesday. Packed really well in a cooler w/ 2 huge ice packs. Not dry ice. I got the "stock up" salmon packets of 10 pcs for $71. The salmon is fresh, not frozen and the chunks are large and fat. We ate it for dinner last night. YUM! Excellent price and super quality! I am so happy! Can't wait to order again. I have been buying my salmon from Whole Foods for a long time. But, I feel better about this, and the pricing is comparable.

Pros - 1. freshest fish and sea food you can find !! I have never seen fish this fresh in any grocery store/super market or even Asian/Korean stores. 2. Most stores sell you by pound and not necessarily expect you to buy the whole box (at times 80 lbs of fish in a box) 3. Everyone at the store and the fork lift operators and very friendly and never rush you and let you take your own time to explore and look around and check it out and will answer all your questions. Cons - 1. Prices are not displayed explicitly - I am guessing this is partly due to supply/demand and seasonal changes and the bidding and so on. It would be convenient to check out the fish, without asking how much is this for every thing you find. 2. $7 entry fee per car. 3. Most stores charge 3% extra for credit card (some stores debit card also) transactions. Tips - 1. Go early if you want the fish you would like. 2. If you find something you really really like, before looking around buy it ! Chances are, by the time you come back after looking around, it’s gone !! :) 3. Even if you don’t find something outside, ask the guys- at times they have it inside. 4. Not all fish are fresh, some are frozen and even better some are individually portioned and frozen which works out great if you have a small family and big freezer. 5. Many individual families (not necessarily who owns business / restaurants) do come to buy fish here.

Buyer Beware! No pun intended!! Bait & Switch apparently a common practice! Second time my order for haddock was switched out for different fish. Last time Scrod this recent order they switched out haddock and put in more cod. Nice of them to let me know after being shipped. A simple sold out or not available on website would have been nice. Or, since I did check the box that said NO SUBSTITUTE! Maybe not just ignore that and add more to equal total bill. Very Slimy and fishy!! Really?

Definitely an experience to check out at, least one time, if you're a seafood fanatic. Parking is $7. When you head over there, male sure you either change shoes before getting back into your car or have something covering the floor of your car because the liquid from the market will stink up your car like rotten seafood after a couple of days.

This place is right across the water from Rikers Island and is in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx. You pay $7.00 to get in for parking and there is lots of it. Things to watch out for: The fish market is just that. A busy place that's open Monday through Friday from 1am to 7am. Trucks must be unloaded and fish is being bought and sold. Walk only on the pedestrian paths because there are forklifts going in and out of the market to trucks being unloaded. Be alert and aware of your surroundings because of all the forklifts zooming by. Total nonsense of rude people. I talked to 5 seafood wholesalers and they treated me very very well. If I took a photo of the name of the company and posted it, it's because I recommend them. There is a fish that I saw that I am a new fan of but I wont mention it. I dont want the price to go up. Go see my guy Josh at Caleb Haley at Unit 110 where they have everything and he patiently explained how the fish market works. I'll never buy seafood from Whole Foods again. Real talk.

It was an amazing experience to visit The New Fulton Fish Market. There is mostly wholesale for restaurant owners, but a few vendors do sell their seafood individually. The space is really bright and wide inside and there are cars moving around fast, so you should be careful walking on the pedestrian walkway. The market is open from 2am to 7am Monday through Friday. The parking is $7. Be expected to wait in the car for a little bit if you arrive close to 2am. However, the cars do move fast enough to enter the market. We ended up getting scallops, oyster, shrimps and uni. We tried to cook everything the next day and they all tasted very fresh. We will probably visit again soon to try their fish, but firstly we need to find more friends to share with us lol

You can also watch some of the best fish mongers in the world filet giant tuna. It’s worth going in the middle of the night. Make sure to walk all around and take your GoPro or DSLR! I love this market and the amazing people who work there and the spectacular fish they sell!

You MUST get there VERY early in the morning (middle of the night) as they are wrapping it up between 6am to 7am. They DO take debit/credit cards. We've been getting our Christmas Eve fish from them since they were located at the South Street Seaport. They are now located in the Bronx.

The ice packs were still frozen, the fish were portioned out perfectly two fillets in each vacuum sealed package (we chose to have them descaled & filet). Blue Ribbon seafood for live! Really interesting to travel ip here and see the inner workings of the NYC fish trade. Word to the wise, just about any amount of time spent in here that is over a half hour will result in your clothing stinking to high heaven of fish. Tread quickly and carefully.

It was a fun experience with a very intense vibe. As a regular shopper, it will cost $7 per vehicle and you can turn onto Food Center Drive to access parking. It’s quite busy before closing if you go at 6 am because everyone is closing down their shops. Forklifts drive quite fast and recklessly so it is required to wear closed toed shoes. I recommend wearing thicker shoes that you don’t mind getting wet because there are frequently fish water puddles. They usually either sell in cases usually or for a certain amount of pounds (i.e. lbs of scallops, 10 lbs of cod).

Fulton fish market is like Mafia zone. Very negative attitudes. Very unprofessional, no customer service at all. I purchased 1 box catfish which was 57 lbs. When we get in a local grocery at bronx we found only 48 lb. Please be careful about, "J & K Seafood Inc." Anything you buy from them weigh them first. Do not believe this store.

No one cleans fish here,, don't believe when people say they do. If you are a woman DO NOT COME ALONE BECAUSE THEY TOTALLY IGNORE YOU! I will admit that I came late but that was on purpose so that I could ask questions, I needed to purchase a large amount of fish and needed it cleaned. So many of the people wouldn't even speak to me to know what I wanted. NO ONE HERE CLEANS FISH, and that fine but they were so rude. I was invisible. They lost out.

I purchased their warm water tails. supposed to be 20 - 24 ounces each. what I got was 2 tails: one was 1.2 ounces and the other 1.3 ounces. completely misrepresented their product. and I never heard back from them either after I complained. will not buy from them again

Good fish , great quality. The Sashimi grade Tuna is the most interesting deal I think. Dont buy the smoked salmon, poor quality even if you think its a good deal, its not. Only cash.

We have used this company before and the quality was great. A week before Christmas we placed a large order for our holiday dinner. Order was confirmed and heard nothing more. Today (Christmas Eve) my wife realizes that she never got a tracking number so we called customer service.
