Amazing fish & chips! The price is a bit more than average, but for really good quality battered seafood! I always get the Scallops & Chips and my friends get the Fish & Chips. So much chips and their tartar sauce is delicious. There's lots of seating area here. And there's tons of cool memorabilia from famous people that have eaten here. The only downside here though, is that they close at 8pm. I wish they opened just a bit later like 9pm!
Went in last night. Had great fish and chips. When the server asked if all was fine, I jokingly said I was one chip short of perfect. She quickly went to the kitchen a served me a "chip". I will be stopping in more often. The food is great. The staff is greater. DM
Your restaurant is amazing your stuff is nice and clean everything is a fire star for food two , but honestly the biggest scam you guys have in your restaurant is the grilled fishes I don’t believe this piece that is half size of a regular size hand is worth $17 with a small can of rice you guys should reconsider this be honest about it with costumers when they ask about portions
One of my favorite fish and chips places in the city. The food is good and the prices are reasonable.
The service was mediocre to poor, the fish was great but the fries were terrible(room temperature and stale).
I'll be back
The BEST "fish and chips" I've ever had in town. Must try!!
Theres a reason its been in business so long. Good service, and solid Chups. Being across the street from a Catholic church doesn't hurt, either. Closed sundays ;)
I came here tonight with a friend to grab a bite. Yummy food!! I had the grilled halibut with some fries and the yummy salad with strawberries and feta. My friend had tacos. The service was absolutely amazing and Lorraine was so welcoming, friendly and amazing.!! Will definitely come back.
Great venue. Classic!
Friendly service. Freshly cooked food.
Best fish and chips in the city as evidenced by it always being filled with patrons. Owners are friendly and take pride in their restaurant.
Love this place. Friendly staff, great food and quick service.
The very best halibut fish and chips i have ever had!!
Cozy atmosphere paired up with comfort food; what more you could ask for? The halibut fish and chips are so crispy and delicious. I recommend the milkshakes too.
Excellent fish and chips!
The food was on the edge of being small controlled sizes. The price was very high just fish and, chips their lowest plate 15.50 and 1 beer is 5.50 that's pushing the max on price.
Best fish and chips in town
Very friendly and fast service.
Best fish and chips in the city, hands down. Not overly greasy and the batter is light. If it comes in newsprint, you know it's legit.
Calamari was just ok, halibut and fries were great. Not pricey at all, and the staff are friendly. The decor is eclectic and homey, if redolant of vinegar.
Price is bit high
Very nice. Wheelchair accessible with washroom
They have IRN -BRU and bloodpudding! Food delicious and serving sizes just right. Their salads are seasonal and delicious. Waitstaff always welcoming, friendly and efficient. 2 minute walk from Royal York subway station. Wheelchair accessible. They can accommodate larger groups. My favorite dessert try the apple crisp.
Great place, Etobicoke legend. I rarely eat fish and chips so I am not sure how their prices stack up to others but I do find it kind of expensive. Not enough to stop me from going once in a blue moon. You get top quality fish in my opinion. If you want fish and chips this is the spot.
Great Halibut fish.
Great place to go for a fish and chips. Thought there are also Scottish dishes that I'd like to try a next time like the haggis
Such good fish. They use halibut - it's priced reasonably. Their tartar sauce is fantastic. Fries are good and so is the coleslaw. Mom & pop feel on the inside. Parking around the corner or on the street, also easily accessible by subway. Definitely my go to fish and chip joint.
Halibut and chips are the best. Excellent dine in experience and on-time pick-up for take out too.
Second visit and had the most amazing Apple fritter dessert with my hubby !
Very good service. Your order gets ready in 5 mins and the staff are very friendly and helpful
Crispiest fish. Hasn't changed in 30 years.
Incredibly fresh fish. Sizes were perfect. Friendly staff.
Nice staff
Great place. Best on nights other than Friday (a little rushed). VERY clean, great staff, a real neighbourhood staple.
The best fish and chips in Ontario Period.
Food was good service bad they ignore u check on others as going alone I don't need my drink refilled, more napkins, etc servers 3 others kept checking on 2 others couplesscross where I was
Great comfort food and great staff.
The best fish & chips I’ve ever had.
I like going to Kingsway Fish and Chips in the winter months because it's just so beautiful to have some fish and chips with an ice cream sundae on the side and watch the snow fall along The Kingsway.
The food is delicious!
Perfect food, great service, lovely atmosphere.
Great place for fish and chips!
Best traditional fish and chips in the city. My kids (and me) love this place
This has been my go-to fish and chips shop for years. Great basic fish 'n' chips, plus a larger menu of other options; where else can you get haggis and chips and mushy peas? Beer and wine, great servers, bright cheerful room, you can't go wrong.
We live near Kingsway Fish and chips and decided to give this seemingly popular place a try. On the plus side, our Halibut and Chips dinner was tasty but the portion size was very disappointing for the money they charge. Also, the lady serving us seemed like she needed to catch a bus or something. Very rushed and frankly annoying. Doubt we will be back.
Great staff
Good food....decent value....
appears that it has new owners our something. The prices have been raised and the portions have shrunk. I had the halibut and chips which consisted of one small piece of halibut, a very small portion of fries and no word of a lie, a table spoon of coleslaw. I found this to be the most comical, coleslaw is so cheap and all they give you is enough to fill your fork and have a taste! The taste of the food was good and the fish was fresh. I left just as hungry as when I walked in. We should of gone into the italian restaurant next door.
Best place for fish and chips
Nice & tasty
I enjoy fish a lot salmon is good
The must go to place on the Kingsway for fish and chips!
Today I ordered halibut and chips and the apple pecan crisp. Everything was absolutely delicious. I will order from here again.
Great food
Great food, fantastic service!
Pretty much perfect! Tried a few fish and chip places sound this area and this has been the best one so far I say 10/10 for the fish (had the halibut) good size , batter was crispy and delicious Fries 9/10 must have been cooked in good oil maybe 30sec more in the frier for my liking but that's about it Nice clean friend store too I'll be going here again
Now if you want some quality food this is the place. I had the genuine honor of meeting their world renown fry cook Ethan Stratton. It was truly a pleasant time. Great home cut yukon gold potatoes. cut to the crisp. great day for the kids to come because on Tuesday little Tommy and Charlie ate free.
It was a pleasure to be able to sit down in a neighborhood place. The staff was exceedingly friendly and the food was delicious, as always.
Good customer service, a little expensive for the serving sizes but great quality
It's terrible, stop coming here, leave more space for me please. But seriously, the fish is so dang good - flaky, golden, delicious, moist. Everyone is so friendly and I've never had a bad service experience here. I think portion sizes for price are amazing and I haven't had one item on the menu I didn't enjoy. Two and a Few is my go to, sometimes with the summer salad they offer and usually with a cup of chowder to start. Like many seafood restaurants they are closed on Sunday/Monday which is too bad cause I usually get a craving on Sundays for their food. If you're not into children at restaurants, avoid Tuesdays as it is their "Kids Eat Free" night. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Great Fish and Chips! The coleslaw is good. Tuesdays kids meals are free with an adult dinner.
Excellent food, service and staff.
Great fish and chips! Super crispy and not too greasy.
Really delicious and enjoyable Fish n Chips with great, friendly service.
Great food, extremely kind customer service, and good price. Great place for a quick bite, or a full dinner. Would recommend.
An Extraordinary Resto for the AGES, and all people....I have been eating here for three decades or more. No one prepares fish and chips like this in North America. Better or as good as any CHIPPY in Scotland or England. Always strong on SERVICE, FRESHNESS, QUALITY. No short cuts. No stories, and No excuses. Outstanding value for fresh Halibut and Fries. Always adding treats to their menu but staying true to this vanishing cuisine. When I needed you during this pandemic, you stayed open for takeout and delivery. You never let me or my family down. I have the greatest respect and admiration for this WORLD FAMOUS FIXTURE on the kingsway. Don't miss it. I hope you stay open another 100 years... You taught me plenty about excellence. Remarkable Place.
One of the best Fish&Chips restaurant in the city
Kingsway Fish & Chips located west of Royal York Rd. on Bloor St. is a bonified Etobicoke landmark! Twenty years at the same location, and still going strong!! Tasty fish and chips is their specialty and a real treat with all the fixings! Pleasant staff, great service and reasonable prices make for an enjoyable dining experience! Highly recommended!
An absolute staple in the Kingsway community. Kids eat for free on Tuesday, and excellent place to bring your family, and some of the best fish and chips in the city.
This place has gotten better over time from good to great. Recently revamped menu is real good. Consistent. A staple. Like the potato or wheat.
Amazing butter tarts.
The best fish in the west end. Batter is amazing and kudos to them as my granddaughter has a huge allergy to egg. We carry an Epi Pen all the time. These folks do not use egg in their batter. And she is a fussy eater but can eat an adult size fish and even have part of mine. The only drawback is the hefty prices. A lunch for two easily costs forty dollars.
Great food, friendly staff. A wonderful place to grab a bite. Hits the spot every time!
First time here...new in this area and I’m very pleased with the food and service. I recommend the seafood platter :)
So yummy!!!! Our favourite fish and chips place!!
Excellent fish and chips
Always excellent quality and friendly service. Great family atmosphere.
This is the best fish & chips in the city. Super friendly, super eclectic and Canadian. The fish isn't fishy. The batter is crisp and a little sweet. Would shave my head for their strawberry milkshakes.
A little pricey but worth the money if u want better food.
Great place to eat and exceptional hospitality. If you don’t eat here you’re missing out!
Excellent fish and chips fish on a bun was good too clam chowder
The fries taste slightly beefy which is GREAT. The fish is fantastic, both halibut and haddock. Everything is solid.
Fish and chips were fantastic. Fries were crispy and fish portions were significant. I thoroughly enjoyed the food
Fish is perfect, but fries is not good
Love this Place.
Best fish&chips in town.
Good fish and chips but pricey.
We have been going here for many years, and although their prices are high for a fish and chip restaurant, the quality of the food is worth the money.
Has to be one of the top 5 fish and chips shops in Toronto. I have tasted different buy not better.
Nice spot, quick and reasonable food. Great if you're out and feel for lunch but want something a bit different.
Not as good as I expected it to be
Consistently good quality. Friendly staff.
The best fish and chips in Etobicoke but also the busiest unfortunately.
Beef drippings. For those in the know, deep frying fries, fish or anything else comes down to the fat in which it is cooked. Forget canola, trans fats and non-gmo- beef drippings make deep fried ambrosia. Not for every day, but, when you are cheating... you should cheat with the best.
So good. The GRILLED halibut with a salad. Mmmmmmmmm
Fish and chips had a lot of oil..
Very fresh fish and chips
My favourite restaurant!
Kids deal is hard to beat. And the fish and chips are spot on. We pretty much always stop by here (on a Tuesday) when we're in town.
Food is great
Crispy batter, tender fish, great chips. Good value as well.
Quality fish and chips. Clean with friendly staff
Normally I'll order the Halibut Fish & a Few. I'm a rather picky eater but I find the fish to taste Very Good (except for the pounds of oil)!! The Oil & Grease is Disgustingly All Over the place which I have to admit I Despise. If you can I suggest you avoid the fries at all costs they're sooo packed full of oil that you can barely taste any potato. The staff are people therefore, they're polite on a good day & attempting to be polite on a bad day(we all have those days).
Food is good and service. Good for Seniors. Handicap washroom. If you like fish it's a good place to eat.
Excellent fish and chips. So fresh and done perfectly. The restaurant is small and cozy. The waitstaff are very professional and friendly. Highly recommend them!
Good, just expensive.
(Translated) Very, very good dinner (Original) Muy pero muy buen dinner
3.5 stars. The Good - the fish itself was cooked just right - the lobster bisque is decent - our waitress (an older lady) was very nice The Bad - pricey for a neighbourhood family restaurant in Etobicoke (two pieces of halibut & fries is 26 bucks) - taste-wise, the fish was nothing special
Hands down the best traditional halibut fish and chips in Toronto. No other place compares in flavour...get the gravy.
Best Fish & Chips anywhere!
For us ,easily the best Fish and Chips in Toronto. As well super friendly staff that always remember your family. Love Kingsway!!!!
Great food, even better service!
The Halibut is so good!
This is the best fish and chips, bar none
You absolutely can't get better halibut fish and chips than at Kingsway F&C. Great Caesar salad, great coleslaw, great service!!!
The best fish and chips and worth the visit.
Gret Traditional fish and chips place with kids menu
Such a friendly atmosphere when you arrive. The halibut and chips are spot on and the creamy coleslaw is delicious!!
Decent fish and chips and the coleslaw is great. A bit pricey for the portions.
Classic place
Great food!
If you are looking for great fish and chips this is the place!
Fantastic old school style family run fish and chips.
Amazing service and food! The waitress was so kind and courteous.
Awesome ataff and awesome food Great price...
YUMMY fish & chips!! I’ve tried the fish & chips, fries, fish tacos, onion rings and fried shrimp. ALL delicious. Giving it 4/5 because I wouldn’t say the fish is absolutely PERFECT, but it’s pretty damn good. The owner is a little sassy but the service is quick. Love to devour these ocean delights on Friday night!! Would definitely recommend :)
The very best fish and chips in this area of city
Been going for years, since I was a youngster and the staff and food quality was never consistent. From hair in everything from the coleslaw to underneath the fish and chips. It was hard to approach staff because they were never inspecting the food going out and the fryer staff was pretty unpleasant because it didn't seem serious and they obviously not hygienic to put hair in the food.
One of the most well established fish and chip joints in TO - used to come here as a kid. Still serving excellent fare - nice menu, no frills but comfortable and clean place. Awesome desserts, too. Lorraine is the best and nicest server. Always worth the trip to the Kingsway.
Piping hot chips and fish and fresh cole slaw
Good service, fish is nicely done, coleslaw is great. Price is a bit high, but ambiance is great.
One of the original fish and chip places in Etobicoke.
Atmosphere was great...my kids loved seeing all the different teapots mounted around the walls, the food was great with good portion sizes, and Lorraine provided incredible service!
Great fish n chips and service! Friendly staff made it a great experience for me and my family!
The best fish and chip spot in Etobcioke, hands down. Highly recommend for anyone who needs a fix
Kingsway Fish & Chips really out did themsleves tonight! My halibut was perfect but the star was the apple fitter! Amazing!
Good food and service
Easily the best Fish and Chips inToronto!
Amazing fish and chips, high quality product and always friendly service.
Great place with amazing people. My family and I have been going there for over 10 + years!
Delicious fish~ Batter was perfect!
I ordered halibut and chips. The food was good even though there was too much batter on the fish.
Old fashioned Fish & Chips done right! Flaky fresh and consistent, never fishy! Pleasant staff and quick service make up for lack of atmosphere. Delightful homemade desserts include a tasty mile high lemon meringue pie. Their fresh butter tarts are served warm with ice cream and are also very fresh and tasty! Highly recommend giving it a visit, but not on a Sunday or Monday because that's when they're closed.
Fast and friendly service
Great pleace. A+++ !!!
Fantastic family run restaurant. Quality Halibut
Our favourite fish and chips. The fish is very meaty and the batter delicious.
" More crust than fish " crust very thick , fish very thin. I call in cheatet fish meal for 15 $ !!!
I used to have olde york fish and chip, after we move to etobicoke, see this place have good reviews, give them a try, batter too thick and fries dark and soaky. I never go back, not recommended to outsiders.
Fish & Chips are excellent. Service is good and their batter is light. Lunch specials are a good deal.
Always excellent. A go to place for fish and chips
Excellent
The mayo was charged extra and we were not told until the bill xame and the fries were very dry they had no taste.
I ordered the lunch special halibut, while the fish was fresh and the fries were tasty it's a bit pricey for the portion size. If your looking to treat yourself and need a go to fish and chips would recommend.
Came in on the busiest days of the year it seems, which is good Friday. Started okay and organized with 2 lines, one for take out and the other for dine in. Then as me and my dinner guest were waiting for seemed like an hour. The establishment started to seat other larger parties who had came after us and the people in front.. I asked for the reasoning behind it and was told that was how they do things there. Finally i had complained and questioned this, they gave us a seat right next to the bathroom.. Giving 3 stars for the pleasant server and good food, just hope they manage the customers better in the future.
My friend and I had delicious food here and we received excellent customer service Staff very courteous Looking forward for coming back
I like the halibut fish here.
not bad. the vibe is excellent. totally relaxed, friendly old school waitstaff, free drink refills. but, the food is just ok. fish is a decent, but small portions and the fries are not crisp. it's nothing to write home about.
Fish and chips the way it was meant to be. Simple and good.
Great value, great food and excellent service.
I call this place old faithful. Been around for a very long time and has never compromised its quality. Same as I always remembered ????????????????????????
My favourite place for halibut cooked to perfection in a crisp batter. My time to go is Saturday evening and I always order the lobster bisque. My favourite dessert is warmed rice pudding with raisins and cinnamon. Friendly staff in this family business. I live out of town but go there whenever I can.
Tasty... like back in the UK
Friendly staff and decent fish and chips Get the seafood platter if you also like scallops and shrimp Margaret is a cutie pie
Great fish and chips!
Had the fish & chips take out. Food was excellent. Restaurant was very busy when I picked up the order, but the staff was very friendly and I didn’t have to wait at all.
Over priced and oily
Although a bit pricey, quality and portion size are real good
Pricey but excellent, quality halibut, I would recommend!????
Very good food with good service
Had the "new" fish tacos! Really tasty and great portion size. Nice Mom and Pop restaurant feel. Will be back again.
After 20 years of coming here, it never disappoints.
I love this place. I've been eating here my whole life. Great fish and chips, coleslaw and desserts
Best fish and chips in Toronto
Great staff, awesome food.
Always awesome. Friendly staff as well.
Excellent fish n' chips, everytime
Excellent customer service and the best fish and chips ive had in a long time! Definitely will recommend to friends and family
Delicious fish and chips, not a heavy batter or greasy.
Seriously the best fish and chips in town. Golden crisp French fries and large fillets of high quality halibut with perfectly crisp batter. Homemade tarter sauce is a huge bonus and to die for! A Beautiful restaurant and amazing food all around make this family owned landmark a popular go-to in Etobicoke. 10/10!
The service was quick and the fish was fresh and tasty and good portions - would recommend.
Classic fish and chips and great onion rings. Kinda pricy but great quality.
Worth it just for the apple fritter. Classic fish and chips. Have an accesible entrance and main floor accesible washroom.
Excellent fish and chips, great tartar sauce.
The food was amazing, the friendly service was a welcome breath of fresh air in this covid time. 100%vrecommend
Best fish and chips I've ever had ! Amazing staff very cozy atmosphere. Make sure to request the server lorraine !
My go to spot for fish and chips in Etobicoke.
best fish & chips in toronto, and family owned which makes even better. #supportlocalbusinesses
Kingsway Fish and Chips never disappoints!! A family favourite.
The lobster bisque on Saturdays and the Halibut perfectly cooked in a light, crispy batter are my favourites. A friendly busy atmosphere with great staff providing great service. l live out of town but I go there as often as I can. Update: Two of us had dinner inside on Saturday, 22 Aug 2020 one week after they resumed dine in service but at 50% capacity. The lobster bisque was as good as always and the halibut in the light crispy batter was wonderful. Reduced staff, of course, but providing great, friendly service. I will continue to go there as often as I can.
Am looking forward to return, my mouth is watering ???????????? Kids eat free ever Tuesday, how often do you see that now days, I think it's great. Thanks
DELICIOUS!
I have never had bad service or bad food at this restaurant. This is hands down one of the best fish and chips to be found in Toronto. The rating for this restaurant is shockingly low for its quality, but when you look at the negative reviews it becomes clear the reviewers have no clue what they are talking about. Multiple complaints of greasy food (fish and chips are fried, if they aren't greasy they aren't good) and another complained of a server who seemed to be rushing (I didn't realize fast service was a negative). Overall a cant miss if you live in the area and worth the trip if you don't (located very close to royal York subway station so it's easily accessible).
Best fish & chips anywhere!! Wonderful staff and owners treat you like family.
Consistently delicious!!!
Great food, lovely gals to service you and a clean, nice place to dine in.
The batter on the fish is light, non-greasy, and tasty, but the portion size for a piece of fish and fries is small and not worth the price.
Batter on halibut was crisp and light tonight. Can be hit and miss with the batter. Good atmosphere and great service.
ABSOLUTELY DESPICABLE. I recently took my two children on Tuesday because food is supposed to be free for them. The owner ended up charging me double for what I ordered. Not to mention as I received my fish an odd scent wafted into my nostrils. I removed the fish to uncover a small nest of rats consuming and devouring the spuds at the bottom.
Enjoyed our meal. Service was excellent.
Only eat fish & chips @ a Fish n' Chip place. Trust me. Good Quality here.
Simply put...the best I've had in a while. Lightly battered large piece of fish, generous amount of fries. Phoned in order and it was ready in under 10 minutes. Great service fair price.
Always fantastic!!
November 2016 My wife and I travel all the way from Oakville for their tasty halibut fish and chips. Kids eat FREE every Tuesday Free WiFi password : halibutfish
Great fish, outstanding chips, coleslaw. Lovely service, clean and safe
One of the best places for fish and chips anywhere! Have been taking my family here for years.
Best fish and chips in Etobicoke by far. Cozy atmosphere, and great service. Love coming here!
GOOD comfortable atmosphere. GOOD food!
Consistent as always!
Great food. Good price. Great staff.
Every kid friendly loved it
Good service.
Very good food and great service. We will go back.
Delicious but wish the portion was larger for the price especially the coleslaw.
