This Fish Shop belongs to the category of Brewpub.
The food was all under cooked was not impressed. Would not Go back
Avoid. It is just a upscale burger joint. Cheap food, low quality fast food restaurant.
Wonderful service. The best fish and chips I've ever had because the fish was SO FRESH! Kind and quick service :)
Wonderful evening sitting on outside deck sautéed scallops were delicious , as was our plate of nachos with a generous side of salsa and sour cream. Our guy server was great- attentive, friendly, very helpful. Fun time!
Went for the escargot..... wasn't disappointed!
Get a reservation if you can it can be busy but not too long a wait. Food was excellent and a good price. The staff are hard working and friendly!
Amazing food and dig friendly area on the patio!
Food a bit pricey, in house draught beers were not to my liking, but good service
service was good our waitress was lovely food was mediocre. I got the crispy chicken avocado slaw sandwich. it was me th at best like it was something I could have made it home from beginning to end it was an only okay slaw with I still don't think there was any avocado in it but the kitchen certain there was but the only thing green about the dish was that I was next to a green colored wall the chicken wasn't well seasoned before being deep fried. put the herb bun was delicious and the tomato was quite nice and firm and the fries were excellent. the munchie platter I got was also very good the onion rings are really good the cheese curd bites were excellent and the little pork wontons was delicious. the people with me one got the clams and fries bar clams they were due fried well and the fries were delicious. and the other dish ordered was the grilled chicken panini chicken was under seasoned Panini was fine and once again the french fries were good.
Great sea food and nice atmosphere
Nice scenic views, great food.
Nice Place. Great food and service.. We'll be back in the 21 when we can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful views.
Best place to eat in the area
The waiter was quick and polite. The food was amazing as per usual and is definitely a go to place!
Great food, seated at a window with a view, prices reasonable, staff attentive and pleasant
The service and food were good. Not the best but good for the price.
Mussels were okay, still required a little cleaning
Best coconut shrimp on the east coast
Lovely place on the water!
Good food and service
Delivious food and you can play card game their
Food is ok, waitress was great, but the girl at the bar making the drinks ….OMG !!! she was not able make any different between Bloody Mary and bloody Cesar, and worse, arguing with us that tomato juice is with bloody Cesar !!!!!! Go on youtube my girl ! You will learn !!!! Good luck
Good was great, staff was friendly and accommodating. We went as a group of 8, 3 kids meals, 5 adult meals and everyone emptied their plates. Kids meals came on a frisbee that the kids were delighted to take home.
The place is really nice and the view is spectacular but the food was not good. I love food! And I love to eat and try new places but this was just not good and I was so sad because I wanted it to be good. I had the seafood pasta and it was just so heavy. I feel like i barely made a dent in it. The seafood inside was good. I pretty much picked at that but the pasta just felt so heavy and fatty. It was hard to eat. My friend had the santa fe chicken and thought it was bland. I don't think I will be coming back. Sorry.
so i am from Boston.... we have some pretty delicious seafood. same can be said for places i have been throughout new england. really never been dissapointed.. the seafood was "just ok" here....seriously....it will provide you with a "zero memory of that meal experience"- ok, except for fact that its overpriced and 'overrated" and slow as molassess. ( i dont know why i expected nova scotia may be better, yummier, and cheaper?!?!... seems like it would be..its not...) the "brewery" part of this experience is barely 2 stars itself.. best way to sum up the restaurant equates to this- my 7 year old daughter ordered mac n cheeses from kids menu. it was like $7-8.... came w garlic bread. thats it it came in a bowl that said "kraft mac and cheese" all around outer top lip of bowl. They're NOT lying. Because it IS a crappy bowl or orange , boxed, powdered cheese, mac and cheese . (Maybe its a store brand as the kraft is more expensive) im sorry, but when your on vacation, spending $120 on dinner, a couple drinks, an appetizer, meals for 4, should one expect boxed mac and cheese to be served....???? saddest part is this has 300+ reviews w a 4.1 rating?? bizarre.... id have to guess that either the reviews are getting "padded" or that the positive ones are from folks unfamiliar w truly delicious new england and?or canadian seafood... good luck !!!!!
Amazing!!!! The seafood casserole is one of the best seafood dishes I've had.
Love this place!! Great food great atmosphere!! Can't go wrong!!
The seafood stew and Rappie Pie were both delicious. Also, they have a gluten free menu.
Great spot in Yarmouth to sit and enjoy yourself a good meal. I ate several times there in one weekend to sample many of the seafood dishes and these were great. The service was too notch too. A spot worth revisiting.
Great staff, friendly service, and decent food. A bit overpriced for the quality and freshness of the product, but at least the drinks are good. Often there is local entertainment as well, so that certainly adds to the experience.
Food was great, calamari and clams, the in house beer was palatable, but not outstanding. Service was excellent, our server was very friendly and knowledgeable.
From ottawa - great local place to go eat!!!
Always good, excellent staff.
Nice atmosphere and location. Great food too
Excellent ????
I'm giving this 4 stars because my friends ribs were really good. But based on my food, chicken Alfredo, I'd give it a 3.5. but they have good beer and a nice view
The food was excellent and service was out of this world. I love this place. Our waiter went out of his way to show us some pictures of what the restaurant used to look like. I will be going again. The atmosphere is wonderful.
Good place for a late meal after getting off the Yarmouth ferry.
Service is great ????and the food ????and I even got beer ????to go. Can't beat that
Meal type
Lovely location and underwhelming kitchen.
Great little pub. I went on wing night, unique beers and solid crispy wings. Live music was varied and an nice addition. Very upbeat and positive staff.
Great food, friendly staff, excellent craft beer!
Great food, and amazing craft beer! Highly recommend the fish cakes.
Great little spot on the Yarmouth waterfront. Everything we had was tasty. Nice local beer brewed right on site! Prices were a little tourist-trappy but hey the patio was great so who's going to compete with them?
Mediocre food you'd normally find at a greasy spoon restaurant. Nothing outstanding. Great wait staff and prompt food. Nice atmosphere with live music. Other than that it just has run of the mill previously frozen seafood that is deep fried. But sushi night is a 5.
Lively place. Busy bar. Food is standard pub food.
Good and fresh seafood, with house-brewed beers. Service was a bit slow at times but overall the experience was good.
Always fantastic good and flights. Nice to be out on the patio as the fog rolled in.
Service was awesome Tommy is a pure veteran server . Clubhouse , best in town and crispy chicken avocado sandwich is solid 5 star !
The lobster was excellent, wife says. Otherwise, it was pretty uninspired. Grilled salmon salad had overcooked dry salmon, twice-baked potato (with lobster) was lukewarm, beers were okay, but not anything special.
Great food. Enjoy everytime I am down here. Enjoy the servers. It is like coming home.
Over 60 minutes before we got our food which was not even close to being satisfactory. Very rarely do I not finish my meals but here, I could only force down a few sips of the thin-bland-mostly-potatoes "clamp chowder" soup and left half of the hot lobster sandwich - suggested by the server. We told the server our honest opinion about the food and service and her suggestion to us was to "please give us another try." Sorry lady, you're 0 for 2 for suggestions. We won't be coming back. Still shocked how this restaurant is rated 2ND best in Yarmouth- beware of inflated reviews by staff (incl. friends and family) and locals. #headshake
Great place for the seafood and bear.
Great people and atmosphere ...also lovely food
We came a long way and thought that at least this popular place with own brewery would have their own beer batter fish and chips. Too bad. Not. It was ok.
Busy place beautiful seafood very nice staff and customers live music
Location keeps this place open, food is average. Beer is decent if you like microbrew
Awesome scallops, friendly servers.
Great food...great atmosphere!
Very expensive. Place was full of flies. Had to keep swatting them away from the food. People seemed to "swarm" there but I don't think we will be going back anytime soon.
Friendly staff but food is quite heavy. I was trying to order just half a lobster but they did not have it. Instead I got small peaces of lobster meat about 50 grams, French fries poured with cream. This was a soup actually.
Nothing bad to say about this place. Only thing better then their food was their homemade craft beer. I wish there was one in ever town
Beer was good, food is Ok, MacDonald fries, should be served in MacDonalds only. Scallops were cooked perfectly
Wonderful fresh seafood, friendly staff ad great location. Have gone there many times!
Nice place with water view. You can buy craft beer brewed on site. You can also sit outside and listen to live music. The food is good. We had fish cakes which were ample with a sample beer
EVERYTHING was amazing about this place. I ordered the sampler beers, which were all delicious and shareable. The tasty drinks complimented my Hot Lobster Sandwich extremely well. I found the meal really interesting, something I would never make at home, and absolutely delicious. It was a beautiful setting watching the fog roll in on the patio during sunset (albeit a bit cold so make sure to bring some jackets despite a hot day). The service was phenomenal, too, with live music. An absolutely magical place to visit to get a beautiful maritime experience!
Scallops were good, as was the beer. Fish was very lacking, the batter was very "pasty" feeling, Deep fried bar clams were very overdone and rubbery. The atmosphere was very nice and the server was top notch, and very knowledgeable as he was also the brewmaster.
The restaurant was a little dark but the food was very fresh and tasty. I had the seared (in garlic butter) scallops and pan-fried (lightly-battered) haddock with shoe-string fries. Parking on the side. The Yarmouth Wharf out back is a great spot to view the sunset or watch the fishing boats come home for the evening.
Food is mediocre, at best. Not a good place to dine unless you like fried food and lots of breading. Poor menu. Steaks ate horrible. If you are a tourist this is not a place to go to experience true Nova Scotia food it is really really not good nor is it representative of the province great culinary genius. Beer is ok and sometimes they have good music. Staff not overly concerned or attentive. I have been here several times I can give a good solid honest review and this is it.
Great service, Reasonably priced food. Gret selection on menus
Great food and great service every time
Very Good meal. Great service. Very clean. Protocols being followed.
Great food!!! Awesone atmosphere!!!
This is a tough one because the beer is great, since they are a craft brewery, but the food wasn't that great. They could improve on the quality of their plates. I like that they do have local fish and seafood, but the sides were lacking in quality for me. The atmosphere is very nice. Quite a busy place so do not expect the service to be the quickest, so relax and have a pint or two.
Really good place! Beer there is so good! Thanks..3 times here and I'll come back for sure!
So for a quiet Tuesday night in March; that coconut pie ended a seafood meal that was worth every penny. Is it high cuisine...no...I expected my scallops to have a darker sear for pan fried...but they were good nonetheless. Staff is courteous and welcoming. As it was a Tuesday; it was quiet; I could see this place being real cool in the summer with huge patio out back. Would recommend if you ever pass through Yarmouth.
Food was ok, took forever for anyone to ask for our drink order, serve our drinks, receive our food, and then to check that all had come out right, or even ask for a drink refill. Good thing we had interesting dining companions to make the experience enjoyable!
The live music was wonderful-Billy Joel, the Beatles, Hall & Oates-loved it!! Food great as always-haddock fish cakes, mussels, Rasberry & Pear salad, Caesar salad, pan fried fish & fries and Clams!! Everything was so tasty and fresh!!
Great food and friendly service and great beer
Good food priced well. Good service. Nice outside deck.
Ate there previously with three other folks and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was excellent and the ambiance by the harbor was ideal. Dropped in this time for cocktails. Their beer sampler of 4 home brews was tasty and my wife's coffee laced martini was both unique and quite delicious! Friendly, accommodating staff.
Good food and excellent service. Their in-house craft beer is great.
Great food. Awesome view.
Seafood chowder was good, wait staff was very nice and microbrewery too.
Wow! Great food, great choice of beer.
Wonderful...delicious...everyone should go!
Its a sweet little place to have your meals. Love the dessert!
Probably one of the best restaurants I have been to!
Nothing bad, but nothing great. Don't feel a need or a want to go back.
Love the bacon wrapped scallops and Raspberry Blonde!
Great food. The night we went there was a band going to play. We asked if we could sit where we could hear. We were told sure but we would have to leave in 45 min.. and the whole place was pre-booked. So I would suggest reservations. That way it doesn't happen that you need to rush if a band is going to play. We chose to leave and go where we could take our time. Our bad for not reserving/ calling ahead.
Tom our waiter was fantastic. Food came quickly and was very tasty.
Best lobster poutine in all of Nova Scotia......decadent!
Claims and lemon pepper baked haddock with veggies were amazing!
Best food and drinks in town a must visit
Great fish & chips along with friendly waitress! Would recommend : A++++++
Excellent lobster poutine and cream lobster. The rappie pie is wonderful as well as their seafood! Great portions are served!
Decent food at a fair price. I was disappointed with our waitress and the service seemed very relaxed/like they didn't care.
Service
Good food, beautiful old building.
A few of us went out for supper at Rudder's and I was totally amazed at the good time we had. The service was good, not amazing but good. The food however was top notch. I had the Digby Scallops with mashed potatoes and it was scrumptious. I had a buddy down from Ontario who could not believe the amount of seafood in the seafood pasta. He commented that home you get 3 or 4 token pieces of fish, here you get a bowl of fish with some pasta mixed in. To top it all off, there was a live band playing and they brought the place alive. Folks were singing and swaying to the beat at their tables and some even got up to dance. A most enjoyable and unexpected evening out.
The hot lobster is awesome
Fish cakes are awesome!
Delicious
Obviously they are known for seafood, but the beer brewed on site was excellent as well. I had a glass of "Mist Over the Harbour" American style IPA (seasonal brew) - easy drinking, and flavourful. Went home with a growler of one their reds. Charming spot, right on the water.
Awesome food and service for a Banquet ????
Friendly attentive staff, lovely view, kind of lacklustre food. Perhaps it’s just that I ordered a vegetarian option and this place is all about seafood. But I was disappointed in the quality of my basil roast vegetable feta sandwich. The basil turned out to be just tasteless dried flakes rather than real basil or even pesto, the bun tasted a bit old, and half of it was soaked in olive oil while the other half was very dry. Didn’t feel worth what I spent at all.
Great hot lobster when the lobster season starts up.. ???? ????
Service was best. The menu mostly consists of fried or deep fried fish. We sent back some clams that were bad. They didn't charge us for them so that was okay as it was the right thing to do for them. The haddock was okay but the batter was either sodium reduced or just plain bland. The fish platter we ordered was supposed to come with a tossed salad but that never came unless you count the slice of tomato and two lettuce leaves on the platter. Vegetables were steamed broccoli and cauliflower. Not sure what the hype about this place is about.
Great food. Friendly staff usually busy
Had to wait a bit to place order and receive food as it was busy, but the food was excellent. I Had a Rudders Club Sandwich and mom had the clam and chips.
Beer is GREAT, atmosphere is good BUT... Food is average at best and service is awful, wait staff doesn't appear to be properly trained and/or overloaded, took twice as long to be served as would have expected, others ordering after us were served first. But the beer and view of the bay were great.
Great food, good service. Chowder was awesome.
We celebrated a wedding anniversary. Table of 15. No issues. I had a Pear and Raspberry Vinegrette Salad. It was delicious. Great Atmosphere with friendly staff.
Lobster was excellent and very tasty, we also had the lobster roll sandwich , i suggest getting the lobster by its self it is much more tastier and fresher, lobster roll sandwich is still excellent, deep fried cheese curds and battered fries were amazazing, great service by waitress, we came from southern ontario and it was worth the wait to get the lobster here it had a nice buttery salty nutty lemon taste, great texture.
Amazing food and service
Good food and craft beer
A great place for sea food, great prices, and A very friendly staff, eat there every day if I could
The red ale brewed on site was excellent! The fish and chips was good. Not the best I've had but still very good. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.
Great place to stop for a bite to eat!!!
Take out
Delicious and plentiful portions.
Had to wait way too long for our food
I found the seating to be most uncomfortable and some of the food was not to our liking, some was very good. Know that the portions a BIG.
Good beer. Had the fish cakes which were pretty potato-heavy.
Food was Ok but way over priced for what it was. Service was slow. Incredibly noisy atmosphere, had to wait far too long to pay and get out of there. Not the memorable experience we where hoping for.
I have never visited this establishment and will not. I am vaccinated, however, I do not support segregation based on inoculation status. This business however supports medical status segregation so because of this I will never experience their food and I encourage others not to. They claim that the government are the ones mandating that they discriminate based on innoculation status but they along with other businesses have the power to say no and are not willing to push back. This business and any association that supports these measures are complicit in acting against a significant portion of society and the bottom line is money is more important to this business than your freedom to dine in with them. They will gladly sell you take out because they do want your money, they just won't let you sit at a table because the government has told them to discriminate. I will not support a business that discriminates because a government has told them to do so for any reason. Viola Desmond broke the law in 1946. 70 years later her family was apologized by the government of the day, her photo was placed on the $10 bill but the theater in New Glasgow wiĺl always be remembered for removing a person of colour from her seat.
Cozy pub - varied menu - prompt friendly service - our first visit to Yarmouth - we will be back and will try a different menu item - the lobster sandwich was tasty but had too much mayonnaise for our taste but the fries were delicious and the hot bread we were given before our meal was excellent! We will definitely be back!
Eating at this sea food restaurant was fabulous. All though on a weekend night you may have to wait a super long time to be seated and get your food but it is by far the best food.
Great fish!!! Great beer. Can't wait to try out the patio
Great ambiance, delicious food accompanied by some mice live music!
Waited an hour for cold, disgusting food, delivered by a rude, unapologetic waitress. Absolutely abysmal. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
Pan fried scallops were breaded scallops that tasted like they had been deep fried in old oil. Waitress was really pushy to get us to leave and it was chilly inside.
Service
great food, great view!
Best fish ever ! Service was great
Dine in
The location is great. Right on the water. Food on the other hand was just OK. The fried fish special was excellent. Pass on the Rappie Pie, which consisted of a few pieces of chicken and a mess of overcooked glutinous potato mash.
The food is great and the service excellent
Only stopped for pints and a snack. Service was great. Beer even better. ????
best scallop i had in my life
Great service and lot sir good seafood options. Hot lobster sandwich is ????
Wow was impressed with this place I had the seafood platter, for me the fish and clams could have been cooked a smidge longer. The other 2 people I was with said their entres were perfect. I roped my lunch off with coconut cream pie. It was to die for. The staff were very friendly. If my fish had of been a bit more crispy I would give 5 stars.
This was THE worst FRESH? seafood I have eaten in a long time. The waitress was amazing! The atmosphere very nice! The mussels tasted like wild ones? Not cultivated? Tasted fishy and undercooked . Very pricey for frozen scallops marketed as fresh? We should have gone to the Red Knight!!!
Food was great, service was great Friendly service. I will be back for sure
Delicious scallops, yummy seafood salad
Great food but a bit overpriced.
Food was good..location was just off the water and staff were friendly...the beer was the best part...try the sampler! Raspberry beer was the best
Friendly staff and great food. Lovely old restaurant along the dock. I had the fish cakes with salad, and my wife had the clams & chips.
Good pub food, Fish and chips: surprised at how good the fish was but the breading could use some work. Best thing we had was the calamari! Local drinks were great as well
Had read excellent reviews but we didn't think the food was all that great. For a seafood restaurant, the seafood was so so!
Staff were friendly but I ordered the local fish combo with vegetables (gluten free), there did not seem to be any seasoning on anything and the food was very bland and was surprised that even the scallops were tasteless. I couldn't even add pepper as they didn't think the pepper at the tables was gluten free.
Dinner special was not what I expected, a bit disappointing. The chili soup of the day was good and saved the meal
Food was mostly good. Portions of fresh vegetables were small.
Good food, nice beer, kind service, fair priced. Good seafood and fish. Would recommend
Good food, great service, as close as you can get to the sea, what else could you want from life, really. Oh, and they make their own beer to boot. Give the Blonde or Amber Ale a whirl.
We had a great meal tonight and the service was excellent! Pan fried Digby scallops were delicious.
Perfectly adequate. Beautiful views but the food is just okay. I usually bring out of towners here because of the tourist factor but never am excited to go.
Some nights have live music. I've always had good food there. Would recommend the patio on a warm summer evening for the sunset.
Food was good. Service was good. Only issue is you could smell the deep fryers and it was smokey from the grill.
Very good
A good option for sure. The IPA selection was a bit weak.
They handle covid rules well. Server explained the new menu and food was fast and we'll made.
Service wasn't great and food was only ok though the seafood was fresh.
Excellent food and service. Try the scallops... they're great.
We drove here late at night and arrived at 9:30 pm, happy to find this restaurant open, til 10:30. The restaurant is very pretty, the service was great. The food surpassed anything we've had yet in Nova Scotia. We had salmon chowder (delicious!!), a seafood platter, and fish cakes. All incredibly delicious. Eat here!! It's wonderful!!!!
This is one of my favourite places to eat in town. The service is usually really good, except if you are with a group. When in a group it's quite slow and frustrating. The micro brew beer is excellent. The two best are Town Brown and Blonde Rock. Overall I give Rudder's an A+
Great spot! Highly suggest finding the time to visit this gem located on the water in Yarmouth NS. The menu is packed full of exactly what you would hope for while in the Maritimes. There was live music the night we were there that was very good, but for the demographic of those we were having dinner with, too loud. If you like live music you will love this. Just don’t go with anyone with hearing aids as it makes for difficult conversation. Lobster was amazing!
Seafood was fresh and delicious, beer made on site was fantastic, try the Red Ale! Meet a few locals and really enjoyed the meal. Would have loved to stay longer.
Fantastic food and great service.
Food was good. Server not real griendly
I liked my meal of haddock, however my husband ordered pull pork special, wasn' t satisfactory.
Good beer good food
Nice micro brews on tap!
Scallop burger with bacon was amazing. Nice big Scallops, local beer was good
Looks nice but tastes like nothing. No spices no salt in the kitchen. Friendly but waste of money. Sorry .
Great lunch.
I have never felt compelled to write a review, but there is no excuse for bad seafood on the East Coast. We have had fantastic food in Halifax, St John, New Glasgow, etc. So when we saw this place was rated 4.2, we had to check it out. The place had a wonderful atmosphere, live band and a 45 minute wait which we gladly accepted. Then it took an hour to get our food. I had planned to get the lobster dinner but the server suggested the lobster sandwich was better. I paid $4 to "upgrade" my fries to a seafood chowder. First the iced tea was very good I must admit. Then the plate came and I was perplexed. Chopped up lobster sitting on top of two stacked pieces of what looked like plain, thin slice, white Wonder bread, covered in a thin cream sauce, and sitting in a puddle of the same. The texture; chewy lobster and soggy bread. Not what I was hoping for. The chowder was no better. Separated oil adorned the surface of the thin, bland cream soup. The majority of its contents were potato chunks. I found solace by picking around them to find what seafood I could. If this is the best place in Yarmouth, stick to the fastfood when you visit. Worst food on the East coast that I have so far encountered.
My partner and I came here for a quick lunch after our morning drive from Halifax. He enjoyed the philly cheese steak with sweet potato fries and the bowl of seafood chowder I had was decent. Service was good and enjoyed the view from our window seat overlooking the water.
Very greasy with poor customer service. My friend's clams smelled like rotten garbage. Deep fried cheese curds were delicious from the appie platter, but otherwise an all around pass.
Never been disappointed....Fish is always fresh and excellent service.
Great food good pricing
Excellent fresh Lobster dinner and great service...highly recommend their Rudders Beer
The hot lobster roll and blonde rock are the best! Fun atmosphere!.
Good grub, good beer
Good food, good Service, Good atmosphere, private setting in booths. Reasonably priced.
Amazing food. Amazing service. Sara, the bartender is incredible
Ughh hate to say it but the hot lobster roll was the most disappointing meal. The watery cream was all over the plate and the bun was complete mush and soggy. The fries were drenched in the watery cream too and it just wasn’t visually appealing or that tasty. I would have sent it back except for the fact that I was starving. But will never order it again. Maybe a place that’s good for a beer or too? Staff super nice. Great location. Clean.
My go to place when I’m in town. Good menu, prices are reasonable and nice selection of local and main line beer.
Very average. Their beer was super watery. Fish cakes are mostly potatoes.
Beautiful setting, but come on guys the menu hasnt changed in at least 11 years...
The food was good but the prices were a bit on the high side. Still worth a try and if you go there, make sure to try their beer.
Their specials are some of the best I've seen in Nova Scotia. I go there for cheap and good beer. Never been disappointed with the food either.
Great food! Cold beer! Old friends! Awesome time!
Service food atmosphere on the water deck loved it
A great restaurant to eat. Love the decor, and the food here was top notch with about average prices. Restaurant was clean with friendly staff.I will be returning here again when I come to the area.
I absolutely LOVE this place. We had lunch on the outdoor patio with a great view of the wharf. Service was quick and friendly. AND, ANNNDDDD, they have deep fried clam strips! Not deep fried whole clams (yuk)....clam strips! Best I've ever had. On my bucket list for an annual re-visit.
Food was kind of mediocre but the beer was pretty good.
Good food and craft beer made on sight
This was our first restaurant outing since covid quarantining began and we were not disappointed! My wife and I came to see Yarmouth and this restaurant came recommended from two ladies who were working at Cape Forchu lighthouse (they were awesome and so was the food at the cafe there!!). We shared a fisherman's platter and the non-cesar salad (can't remember name of it but it had pears and candied pecans) and we were blown away! Fish was awesome - but my favorites were the scallops (pan fried) and clams (deep fried) - so delicious! Add in some veggies (carrots, turnip, broccoli) and a stuffed baked potato and it was a meal fit for a king! Excellent quality, comfortable atmosphere, friendly and attentive server - definitely a place to check out. Highly recommended!
Meal was great, atmosphere is classic and immersive. Staff went out of their way to interact with our 15 month old.
What a let.down. Worst food in Nova Scotia. Fresh seafood all around but lobster and haddock were either seriously overcooked or frozen. NEVER AGAIN! Go next door!
Rustic feel to this place, service was great, and the food was very good with average cost, they also make there own beer in there micro brewery.
Great staff, good food
Good place to go for lunch. The seafood was good too.
Had the grilled haddock and it was great! Staff were excellent.
Long wait and food wasn't great
Frankly it's the only place to eat in Yarmouth... the food is fantastic, nice atmosphere/decor etc BUT I have to agree with the other reviewers - the service is laughable (for couples & groups in my experience). I have never experienced such appalling service anywhere in the world (& I've travelled quite a bit). But I will keep going back because the food is just sooo good!
Service was quick but the food was very salty.
Large portion of steamed mussels in wine sauce and large haddock fillet were excellent along with the service. Will return when in town.
Second time going there and the food was really good. I'd recomend there Lobster Poutine to anyone that loves lobster or poutine.
Dine in
Expense, food not exceptional
Nice beer sampler, and terrific batter on the deep fried shrimp.
Meal type
Great food and service.
Good beer, great seafood. Seafood chowder is exceptional.
Awesome food and service
We were visiting from the states. I decided to try the rappie pie, a local traditional food I had read about. I was deeply disappointed as it looked nothing like the crispy, golden dish pictured. Instead it was like eating gray gluey, paste with a little chicken in it. My son's fish & chips was no longer crisp & the fries were frozen shoestring fries. Everything lacked salt or favoring.
Excellent seafood!!! House beer was amazing as well. Top notch service, would definitely recommend and will be back.
Good food and good service
Pretty good food quality. Good service. Not very expensive. Decent portions. Good sea food selection
Favorite spot by far. Love the atmosphere, staff are awesome and the food is incredible. Would recommend to anyone looking for an evening out as well as a quick bite at lunch.
Great food and drinks
Me and my boyfriend went for date night, service was good, food was good and the wait wasn't long either!! Excellent!
Pretty basic, not all it’s cracked up to be
Great food and friendly staff
I've been to Rudder's a few times for a quick beer and appetizers, and always enjoyed it. Earlier today I went for a meal and it was quite disappointing. I had the fish and chips, my friend had scallops and clams. The fish was bland and mushy. Seemed almost undercooked. My friend said the clams were not fresh. I tried one and it was unpleasant. The beer was flat. Maybe near the end of a keg, although my friend had a different variety and he agreed, it wasn't fresh. We did split a plate of calamari which was decent, the Thai dipping sauce was good. The fries were good, service was decent. I'd like to think our experience wasn't the norm, but I'll be eating somewhere else next time I vist Yarmouth. I don't think it's too much to expect decent seafood when there are fishing boats everywhere in sight.
Reasonable price for fresh lobsters
Beer was good. Fish and Fries not so much. Great service
Good pub food. Great craft beer brewed on site. View of the waterfront and sunsets. Try the Raspberry Blonde.
Great food, great service and great view of the waterfront
"Good Food And Entertainment"
Great pub on the water with big terrace, service was a bit sub par, good selection of pub food
Great service and an awesome creamed lobster
Food and service is fantastic...love it....
Very good service, environment and food.
One of the best places to eat left in town
Best you'll find in Yarmouth
well the service was slow.. food was good.for the price
Always willing to accommodate my dietary needs! Thank you.
Our staff Christmas dinner was amazing. Our waitress was more than skilled at her job. Fantastic food and service!
First time waiter was amazing. Food for me was ok steak was more well than medium. Plus was on cold side. But in their defense place was mad busy. The wife's claims she loved. The son loved his chicken alfrato sorry if spelt wrong. Our table all thought food was great. We had a group of 10.
Great seafood and microbrewery.
Awesome Seafood!!!
Only place in town that was open. Watched the Red Sox in the playoffs there. The bartender, Ellen, was really nice. They had great stouts and reds. The food could be a little better, but it was o.k.
Been living in yarmouth for almost 3 years now and it was my first time here last night and the food was delicious !!!!!!!!!! We be returning
Great food. Great service. Haddock was unreal. Large portions
everyone should try the bar clams
View was great, food delicious, service fantastic, the price reasonable.
Service
Excellent service, very friendly staff, great SELECTION of food, however I always leave feeling a little disappointed. Food often feels... Cheap? Rushed? Almost like the fast food of seafood.
When the waiter set our plates down he said, "Here's the best seafood you've ever had." Yep!! So good! Consider reservations in the busy season.
Amazing food and service!
Decent food. Nice view.
Service
Great food and service.
Great sta
The waiter was fine but the food was bad. Fries soggy. Fish sub par. And a hair and paper were found in the salad.
The food was very good
Great seafood. In house craft beer at reasonable prices. You gotta like it
Great casual place, with good selection of well prepared local seafood / fish.
Really good food and beer
The beer is excellent, but the food has yet to impress me.
If they serve wrong food, which you have not ordered, you have to pay for it, even when it was returned untouched. That does not happen in germany. Finally, the food is a disaster. Everything is drowned in sauce or cheese. Even the fries. Terrible.
Great food had a good time
This restaurant is beautifully located on Yarmouth's historic waterfront. They have a fairly large menu, focusing mainly on seafood, but including lots of other options as well. There is an on site brewery and their beers are worth trying - there is something for everyone. There's a patio for outdoor dining in the summer, which is lovely especially when there is activity in the waterfront.
Awesome staff Awesome food
Amazing food and service!
Consistently good seafood meals, good service, comfortable atmosphere.
A fun place to eat with amazing food choices. Lemon Pepper Scallops were fab. Other choices at the table were fish cakes and the fish were chips. Everyone was very happy. Also tried the beer that is made on site and was great! Try this place and you will be very happy you did.
Great food and view of Yarnouth harbour.
My favorite place in Yarmouth. I go there every time I visit. They do local food and fish but they also have healthy options and can manage dietary requirements for celiacs
We had Lobster dinner with Twice baked potato, amazing! Our server Tom went above and beyond required service. Tom was very pleasant and on top of everything! He made our experience 10/10!! If back to Yarmouth, we would will be back.
It was great to sit outside right by the water and had live music and a fun crowd.
The service and food were very good and i was impressed with the whole lobster dinner. The prices were reasonable and the drinks from the bar were exceptional .
Are hostess Cindy was very good. The food was excellent. The live music was perfect. A very enjoyable evening. We all had a great experience. Thank you Rudders.
Awesome beer and food with entertainment
Nice place to eat. Nice deck with outdoor seating. Usually have live music on weekends. Great micro brew on tap.service is good.
The best poutine ive ever had and strak cooked the way i wanted it
Visited Rudders while on the Yarmouth Foodie Walking Tour. Great spot, great view and lots of delicious options! Don't miss the haddock fishcakes (this is the foodie tour portion).
Was Favorite spot when in Yarmouth. NOT dog friendly even on deck while NS travel say that more and more dog friendly places are available. The deck is accessed via indoor or outdoor stair and gate so no excuse. Likely not to visit as often. This was a BIG disappointment given we always head to Rudders. Hot weather, dog is not in the car while we spend our money Shame on them.
The place looks awesome, food looks good, beer even better - but try to get seated outside for a party of 1 - denied! Try to find a seat which is suited to your taste inside - denied Maybe it was the waitress that that simply clueless about customer service, but they are certainly not getting my business. I’m sure the place would be awesome, but training is required for this particular hostess. What a shame. Too bad!
Good good, great atmosphere....AMAZING cheesecake
Great food, nice atmosphere, and wide array of their own tasty beer. The seafood is excellent and they have a lot of other non-seafood dishes too.
Great food/ fun staff.
Excellent food and service. The local beer they serve is also quite good. Tasted the brown, red and blonde. All pretty amazing!
Great food. Great atmosphere. Hot wait staff. Family and friends type place.
Food is so yummy and the staff is great
My cousin and I had a wonderful time with the live band the great food and wonderful atmosphere. The staff we excellent!
Ordered the fish and chips.. hmm. Wasn't up to Nova Scotia par to say the least. Seemed flavorless for some reason. The curry chicken sandwich was great.. also had great curry sauce to dip with. Just not what I expected.
The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I forgot to take a picture because I was SO excited to dig in!
Rudders is always a great time
outstanding! the lobsters are amazing.. will be back...
Just ok. Not alot of choices in Yarmouth
Our waitress was so friendly and helpful. The food was so good and plentiful
Really good food. Best beer battered fish ive ever had. Can't wait to come back
Tasty seafood and great local brew.
Great Service and delicious perfect amount of food.
Nice service - Good variety on the menu . I ordered fish& chips. The fish was to be pan fried, but came with batter that was not very well done. Good fish just not cooked well. The fries were disappointing, they weren't home made. They were shoestrings.
Lunch
Great atmosphere, great food, great beer. ???? We enjoyed a perfectly cooked and flavorful meal while taking in some amazing live music. Their beer is made on site, if you like you can even take some home with two sizes of growlers. Nice place for a date night or a group of friends. There will definitely be return visits in the future.
The fish and chip (had my pan fried) is amazing.
I am not sure you can check this photo, this is lobster roll for to-go. $15.99+tax+tip. hard bread and pinky sause only. ridiculous!!!
Nice place with good food and service. Good atmosphere too.
Not overly impressed , I had clams which were fine but my daughter has shrimp and it was gross.. I’m very surprised that you can go to a restaurant this close to the ocean in Nova Scotia and get any bad seafood. The shrimp was bland and not good at all .
WORST Greek salad and seafood chowder we've ever had. For an area renowned for its seafood, we were very disappointed!! The "broth" was very watery with a skim of fat on top, and completely lacked flavour. The 'meat' tasted and looked like simulated lobster/crab, and the rest was simply bland. Our Greek salads did not have any cheese, Feta's a staple for this salad, or cucumbers; a few tomatoe slices were well past their best before date, and the olives tasted like a refrigerator--disgusting!! The server who took our order was awesome and welcoming, as were the host/hostess and bartender.
Good, simple food.
Jenna is the best barmaid in nova Scotia. Made 4 Americans feel like we've been friends forever. Great food. Great staff. Great time. Thanks Jenna.
Great atmosphere and great food! They serve some delicious digby scallops! Would visit again when in Yarmouth!
Holy Christ they r slow
Rudders was recommended to me by several people but I found it disappointing. I had to take the batter off my fish as it was gluey. The fish itself was quite fresh which was good. Poutine was made with mozza and not cheese curds. Never saw that before. Gravy was pale and luke warm. It was super bland and gross overall. My server was friendly and efficient. Cute spot and great location for tourists etc. Id go back for a beer but that's about it.
Great food and prices! Nicely crafted beers! Well worth the stop!
Waited over hour a d they didn't have what we wanted
Fast friendly service and good food
Food was very tasty, and great friendly staff. Tom our server was awesome.
Good service.clean restaurant. The bread is tasty while you wait. Great simply for life menu. Fast service. Love to come here
Dinner
Very good beer battered Fish ????????
Good food.
Good service pleasent people varied menu harbour view
Nice atmosphere good food and nice service.
Tom & Debbie are the BEST waiters EVER!
Good environment, decent food
Small portions over cooked scallops frozen fries
Our 2nd visit. Very nice staff. Ordered the fish cakes, delicious.
Dinner
Good food, good service
The best place to eat near Yarmouth
Good local place for dinner, and great atmosphere!
Ignorant ignorant staff. Unbelievable that some of these people are even in the hospitality business. I expect better from grown-ups frankly. Sorry, but you deserve this review.
My first choice in Yarmouth for food and drink
Service
Good food, fast friendly service what else could you want.
One of the best seafood restaurants in the area. Just avoid the sushi as they don't know how to make it. Live music. Good service but when it is busy, the food takes a long time to be served, which is expected.
Great people, great Food, great atmosphere, awesome beer, enough said!
I’ve ate at rudders many times over the years, great experience in all aspects, every single time. Highly recommended.
I love the fish cake!
Right on the water, fairly large deck, live music. I only got the coconut shrimp to eat but they were good, it's hard to mess those up. Also I tried the raspberry blonde ale and it was AWESOME. If you like a strong berry flavour I would reccomend
Dine in
Always a pleasure to stop here. Excellent sea food. Bring to whole family.
Of the available options, this one was best
Best fish cakes in the world.
Good restaurant in downtown Yarmouth
Dinner
Overrated. Over priced. The beer is great though.
The food here is okay. I got the beer battered fish and chips and it was crumbly on the outside and undercooked on the inside. I have been to this restaurant many times as it was one of the only restaurants in Yarmouth when I was a kid and this is a pretty average experience. As for service, the waitress was nice and dod a good job.
Good food, beer and atmosphere
comfort place and delicious food.
best fish cakes i have ever had. staff is friendly and the beer is a good value.
Great food, good ambiance
Mmmm....beer. And bacon-wrapped scallops.
Blonde Rock, clams and Fry's they go good together, girlfriend had Blonde Rock and seafood casserole! Highly recommend. Service is all ways friendly.
Good selection of beer and food, nice patio and plenty of parking. Close to walking distance from main street Yarmouth
Great food and staff
Food was very good. Lobster rolls was pack with lobster.
I try to watch what I eat, and I find a lot of their food to be deep fried, etc.. But as a treat, you can't do better. It's a great place after a long week to go for a beer or glass of wine with friends.
Live music, Great food, great service. My favorite restaurant in town.
Seafood pasta and a nice craft brew Red ale. Food and service were excellent.
Good food and a great atmosphere
They have very yummy clams!
Went in for lunch, and it was absolutely delicious. The appetizers came out quickly, and hot. Our main course was fantastic (Lobster poutine was unreal). Our server, Tom, was wonderful and spot on with any extras that we needed. Would highly recommend, and even more highly recommend their cheesecake.
Our 3rd visit over 2 years. Great beer food & service
Good food. High prices. This is in my local area. Have eaten here quite often!
Best fish and chips I've had in Nova Scotia so far. Our server was lovely.
4 stars cause Emily our server was awesome, but should only have 3...went for their fish bites, very plain, no flavor, they need to throw something extra into their very bland batter. Never my first choice for places to eat in this town, and every time I leave there I remember why I don't go.
Visited here often. Had the seafood chowder (I mean the potato chowder with just a few pieces of lobster and fish) Don't order it. Seafood restaurants in Yarmouth should have a lot & excellent seafood. Come on. My son had chicken wings. Get the chicken stuff here.
Great Brews my favorite was the Chocolate Raspberry Stout. Nice menu with options for everyone. The Greek Salad with Rudders Own Chicken was fantastic. Our server, Meagha, was lovely and knowledgeable about both the food menu and the drinks. Overall a terrific experience. Can't wait to go back to Yarmouth and visit again.
Busy spot with pretty good food. The entertainment was pretty awful but everybody's got to start out somewhere :)
Best Dill Pickle Ceasers...????
There own beer is the higoght and the food is wholesome and hearty. Hot lobster sandwich is excellent
Service wasn't that great, burger was at room temperature at best. Poutine made me sick
Loved it
Good food, but over priced
Service was friendly, and prompt. Food was outstanding!
Had a wonderful lunch here. I got the fish cakes and caesar. They were delicious. The croutons in the salad tasted like they were made to order. Im not sure if the green side I got was chow, or bread and butter pickles, but it was good. The staff are friendly and good at what they do. My glass of water never reached its bottom. I got a piece of salted caramel cheesecake after and it was incredible. Keep up the good work!
Friendly staff but not so delicious
My husband & I had a great experience here. The lobster sandwiches were good, they had live music playing, and our waiter (Tom) was excellent. Our favorite beer was a dark one that I think was called Town Brown Ale(?). We also tried a chocolate berry stout that went nicely with our salted caramel cake.
Great atmosphere, friendly service, good food, great place where friends meet.
Went on sushi night, was super good!
The place looks nice. The food was a little better than bad. Beers were almost good.
The service and food was on point.Good selection of local food and local beer.Very well done.
Dine in
Great spot for drinks or some Nova Scotia seafood (or whatever it is you crave), and live music. Fantastic atmosphere on the water
Very okay. If you can find something else I would recommend but if not this place will do. Extremely friendly service food and venue ok.
Local beer and seafood! Their haddock & fries is very delicious. Yarmouth Town Brown and Blonde Rock beers are worth trying. This restaurant has a great location, right down by the water. The interior is charming, and the service is good (at least, when it is not so busy).
The food was super good!
Excellent service. Safe practices in place. Price was very fair. Food was spectacular. Will recommend and return!
Pan fried haddock is second to none!!
Great beers, good food, friendly service, right on the water.
Wonderful craft beer, delicious food, entertainment and great friendly staff.
great beer, great food, friendly staff. awesome view of the harbor.
All that you would expect from a family lunch
Nice spot, decent local brews Had the seafood platter which was pricey for the amount of food.
The staff was extremely friendly, especially with my one and a half year old. The food was excellent and i highly recommend the craft beer sampler.
Food was excellent service was very good and so were the prices
Great place. Love the lobster dip, and lobster poutine.
We had to eat here twice because nothing was open in downtown Yarmouth in the evening. The first night, our server started great with us, but after our first encounter, almost literally abandoned us. The second evening was better, but at best only "fine." Food was good both nights. Priced decently, I thought, food and beer both, which is weird because when we were asking locals where we could do at, like, 6pm, they called it a tourist trap. It is, I guess, but not an over-the-top cash grab from people who have no where else to dine. Patio was fine, but man, those mosquitos.
Comfortable restaurant with water view. We had the seafood pasta which was great with a good amount shrimp and scallops. The fish and chips was as expected. The raspberry blonde ale was tasty.
Very nice evening, Enjoyed the music
Great food and wonderful service.
Fish cakes were delicious. Food was plentiful. $6 martinis!! Shout out to Sarah our bartender. She was 6 star
Great Yarmouth Charm. Great local beer.
Nice atmosphere. Great food
The best, I repeat best craft brewery, micro brewery I've ever had. And I've drank a lot of different ones.
Good ambiance - live band - food was ok!
Good food and service.
Very friendly and knowledgeable waitress served me. Answered all my questions about potential allergy concerns. Food was delicious and served quickly.
Very good food and everyone knows each other
Great sea food and very generous portions.
Awesome always ! Superb hassle free dining..great tasting steak!
I have been here multiple times and I think it is a great place to visit. The location is the best thing. This is the only place you can buy their great craft beer. They are open to serve food until 10:30/11pm and you can buy beer from them even when the store doesn't sell it. The mussels are my favorite and the bartenders are the best!
Staff are excellent! Very attentive and friendly. Food is mediocre at best. My salmon looks (and tasted ) like chicken. Probably a great spot for drinks and music- not food.
Decent food and beers brewed on-site.
Best spot to eat...food portions were large
Way overated. Little to chose from if you do not like seafood.
Meal type
Regular pub fair. Service not great. Standard decor.
Meal type
Stopped in for dinner on our way back to the States (on the Cat). What a great cap to an already great vacation! They have a nice seafood menu balanced with some land-food options. Excellent beer selection and the service was worth 5 stars. Atmosphere was upscale for small town Novia Scotia but not stuffy. The best part was the friendly and pleasant people that were there. It was a mixed age group that was skewed to middle aged. Most were locals out for dinner and drinks either inside or on the large deck on the water side of the restaurant. Entertainment was provided by a very good local band that played a wide range of music appropriate to the crowd. A welcome relief from the bars and clubs in Halifax! When in Yarmouth we will be found at Rudder"s!
Service horrible but food great. Outside seating great views of Harbor. Prices what you would expect them to be for a seafood place. Family friendly, couple friendly. Could potentially be romantic outside. Spirits and beer. Just don't expect Speedy service from the kitchen or the wait staff even when they're not so busy. Gives you ample time to talk with your partner before stuffing your face.
Great food and service!
Absolutely love the food staff is amazing
Bit pricey for what it is (glorified fish and chips) but the beer is standout
Clean. Nice location, overlooking the water. Staff were pleasant. Food was okay. No steak served. I ended up having a salad.
Place looks amazing, the outside seating is wonderful and there wasn't a single thing I ordered that I didn't like
Good clam chowder and great cocktails.
Great fish cakes and craft beer
Holy ... very good food..clean plate for sure!
This is a great place you do have to come here and drink their beer absolutely amazing handcrafted #Beer
Good food, great atmosphere, but a little clostphioc
Quick, friendly and classy service with great tasting food. And home brewed beer!
Overpriced average food.
Awesome food great staff. Great value for the money. Will definitely be returning.
Fantastic beer, but there are absolutely no vegan options. I know this isn't your typical place to go for vegan food, but something apart from fries would be nice.
Great food great service loved the band dark blonde we will return
Friendly waitress, good food, reasonable pricing
Food and service is very good.
Excellent food and service
I didn't like the service and found the waitress rude. I had an issue with the food and reordered it, when it came didn't find it any better, I found the clams not cooked enough, rather than do something to change that she reminded me that I would still have to pay for the food that was not eaten. Yarmouth is a pretty small place and Rudders likely doesn't have a whole lot of competition; I'm not sure if that's what contributes to the poor service, because they know people will be back due to lack of options. This experience definitely doesn't make me want to return anytime soon.
Excellent food, reasonable prices & good service.
Tasty food. Friendly efficient staff
Worst meal in Canada and worst service too.
Dinner
Excellent service and the food was great ..Gish cakes Are the best .
Very ,very nice !!!!!!
Poor service and terrible food. Need I say more?
Like it,. Was busy, no reservation but not a long wait.
It was ok but service was a little slow. I had the seafood chowder and was not very good, it was watery soupy with not much in it. Their own craft Beer was really good though and great price, reason for the 3 star.
Always great food
Lobster dip was tasty though sweeter than expected. Also had claims and scallop seafood combo which had pleasantly light batters. The scallops were a bit under some for my personal taste but they were cooked the way they are supposed to be, retaining their flavour without being rubbery
Food in general was average at best and the Corn Chowder was awful. Waitress was very defensive when provided our feedback. Positive side the brew beer was good.
Service was ok, food was great, everyone really enjoyed their dinner.
Great food great service
Good food, love the location on the water
The lunch was mediocre at best and service wasnt great. They tried, but for how few patrons there were the 3 servers seemed to have a hard time keeping up and cooperating.
Great place for both food and drink.
Cant cook scallops this is the 2nd time i came back to raw
This is a great place in downtown Yarmouth! Located right now the water, it gives you a beautiful view of the harbor and boats. The atmosphere in here is very cozy and the staff are incredibly friendly and fast. The prices were a little high, but still reasonable. Overall, great service and great food!
Good food and a nice deck.
Amazing fish cake!
Uncomfortable atmosphere and less than mediocre food.
good food... good service.
Good food service and micro brewery beer
The building is beautiful on the inside. The food was delicious. Obviously I recommend any of the seafood, we tried several different dishes and they were all great. The service was excellent. The servers were friendly and helpful. I'm sure the view over the harbor is great but it was to foggy to see anything when we were there.
Friendly service good beer ???? ????
Patio dining overlooking Yarmouth Harbour. Great beer and some of the finest fish cakes in Nova Scotia. A must do whilst in Yarmouth.
Awesome good. Was a bit busy so we had to wait a few minutes - not too long. Would definitely recommend a reservation for next time around - especially on the weekend. Very reasonable prices! Great seafood menu - also lots of items for folks who are not the biggest seafood fans.
The food was not great had friends that came to Yarmouth and asked me Where's a good place to eat and I said rudder,s and I was wrong
Amazing they have a great atmosphere and stagg and are very accommodating with allergies we will be back
Great food reasonable prices definitely recommend rudders if your in yarmouth looking to eat seafood or grab a drink
I visit Yarmouth a few times a year and never go anywhere else.
Meal type
This place has great atmosphere except for when there’s live music playing. Not that it’s not good but it’s WAY too loud if you want to shout over your dinner then to each their own. Food is average but the dining experience is top notch especially since Rudders has it own micro-brewery and can taste all the beers and alcoholic beverages you like. The turnaround in waitresses tell me it’s lacking very much in the management department but nonetheless hasn’t deterred in customers as this place still gets packed on some nights and hauls in all the tourists in the summer. If your looking for a decent taste in coastal foods then this is the place.
My GF and I got take out and sat at a nearby picnic table with our dogs. I had an old fashioned burger and my Gf had a crispy chicken sandwich. It was fresh, delicious, proportionate and priced accurately. I’d definitely return even if it’s an hour drive each way.
Seafood salad is very good!!! Nothing like it at any other local restaurants. A must try for the seafood lover!!!
Had to wait for table so had a drink at the bar awesome service and drink. I had 2 seafood combo with mashed potatoes. Potato was nothing special very plain. I asked for pan fried scallops and fish they came with batter on that you would deep fry them in. Take batter off they were good. My child had oven baked fish and their special of the day cream of mushroom soup the cream of mushroom soup looked and tasted like no name soup out of a can undiluted. When we mentioned it to the waitress she said well that's our cream of mushroom soup and left it at that it was uneditable was not pleased. Will not be back to this restaurant again the fish was good but not that good not for the price we paid for what we paid it was over $50.
Good. Could be a little cleaner
Appreciate that this has a ramp for accessible entery.
Great, casual, lively atmosphere in a Friday night.
quaint setting on the shoreline in yarmouth. good food and pleasant service
Lobster rolls were too creamy and clams were too breaded. That said, service was amazing so I would come back.
Calamari was delicious. Music would have been nice to listen to.
Nice local eatery in Yarmouth before taking the CAT ferry to Portland, Maine.
Great service and deliciously prepared scallops and shrimp. Our server gave us two recommendations of places to eat/drink in Port William which we followed up on and we were not disappointed!
Great service and knowledgeable staff. Wonderful food
We eat here every time we come to town, amazing food ,very fresh seafood. Kids loved the kids menu
One of the only places open past 8 p.m. Very "meh".
A lot of hype for a long difficult walk
Host did not accept valid medical exemption issued by the government with a valid QR code - they refused to even scan it. Government website says valid medical exemptions are to be accepted the same as a proof of vaccination, but apparently this restaurant makes their own rules. Image taken directly from novascotia.ca
Always a good place to be. They have home brewed beers that are good (but not outstanding) and the food is a standard pub fare. Staff is friendly. On the night I was there, there was live entertainment. Although it was fairly well done I was surprised and disappointed it was old crooners or "old classics" rather than local creations in an area of NS that boasts a ton of talent. Overall a pretty good experience!
If you looking for a great meal and refreshing micro brewed beers, this is the place where I be. Outstanding service!
Unfortunately, a bust. Had high hopes for their brews and seafood, but left with regrets. I got their sampler of beers, but only cared for their brown ale. The rest were flat. I ordered the hot lobster roll, but it was just a hot mess. Served in a cream sauce on a soggy hot dog roll. Reminded me of SOS. Left most of the meal on the plate. The wait for food was too long and service passive. Water wasn't refilled once. Didn't see too many smiles in the place. Sorry for the tough review, but...
Bacon wrapped scallops, hot lobster roll, & raspberry blonde beer is THE BEST!
Great atmosphere . menu could be updated
Good seafood and Lobster. Deck.
Food was great. Service was top notch, good beer on tap and reasonable prices. Will be back soon.
Fantastic food and service.
