Very friendly staff and more than plenty servings food. Being vegan I wish they had more vegetable choices on their menu, but the salad they prepared for me was very nice. The looks of their desserts are phenomenal for anybody that's interested in sugar!

Went into a gas station a couple of kilometres from Merns and asked a couple of ladies where to go for fish and chips. Only one place said one lady, Merns. Absolutely said the other, great home cooked food there. After getting directions we found Mern's and it lived up to what the ladies said. Don't look at the decor, just order the food. You'll love it.

There was nothing fresh about the seafood platter. We couldn't eat it and they never offered any kind of a discount for the inedible food. Barely took a few bites and left it all behind. They didn't seem to care about it. Will never go back again. It's very different than when it first opened years ago. Even saw the server reaching into the dessert fridge and taking pies out with her hands. (Which had just been ringing in cash without being washed). Awful food and even more terrible service.

Authentic East Coast Food. Get off the ferry and go right, down a couple of blocks on the right hand side. Small little local place but totally worth it. Try the Rappie Pie

Wow. what a hidden gem. I like what I like but I like to switch up where I get it. and wow what a treat. The fish was delightful. Sorry no picture because once i dove in i wasn't stopping to take a picture. the fish was a delightfully light dry battered and fresh as fresh could be. and the portion?! wow a large fish in chips for that price! so awesome!

What a fantastic experience going here we drove in from Dartmouth to pick a cat up at the SPCA and I decided to bring some friends from the city down to try this place they absolutely loved it and said they would take the 6-hour drive to come back. Thank you for being so fantastic and your wonderful hospitality

OUTSTANDING!!! If you like Home made BLTs, home made burgers, and the best fish and chips I've ever eaten, you have to give this place a try. The three piece fish and chips was so large I couldn't finish it and I'm a 300lb Powerlifter. Prices on the menu all include the tax. The price you see is what you pay. My family and I will be returning soon. Thank you Mern!!!

Nice place for lunch. Seafood chower was delicious, fried clams and fish needed more salt but they were fresh and good. Unfortunately fries were from bag so we didn't order!

There's no food like good ole home cooked food; and here is where you'll find it. Hearty portions, of your old favorites, such as fish cakes, seafood, corned beef and cabage, baked beans and brown bread, home made deserts, your definetly full if you even finish it..taxes are included in all their prices...gotta like that..definetly will be a regular
